How We Met
Mommy heard that there were some kitties being treated badly at a farm out of town. Mommy asked the people if they had any cats or kittens that she could take. They said to meet her at thier shed that after noon. When mommy got there they told mommy to stay in her truck and they came out with one 5 week old kitten [me] , they would not let mommy see any more so mommy took me and left. I had 2 broken ribs and screamed every time mommy would try to touch me. I was very scared of her and hissed until I figured out that she was nice and was not going to hurt me. I have loved my new home ever since. since then mommy rescued my mommy and 5 other kitties from there.

Gosh, I finally got to catch up with a few blogs. How the heck are ya doing girl? I'm sure glad you got to come out & hunt some fieldmice with me; they're pretty big bruisers, ain't they? We'll hafta do it again sometime. How did that baby deer ever make out under your deck? What part of Alberta was your mom from? I hope all is going well with her & her new beau...I'm sure glad you kitties approved of him first, although it sounds like they're know one another quite awhile. Wow, 8 dogs, 2 kitties & a bird; combine them all with your furmily & thats quite a pile of loving furballs, & feathers toboot. I wish ya'll the very best with that & let me know how you make out Mouse! I've missed you lots & it was good meowing atcha again; we might be able to do the snow angels a few times more yet in my neck of the woods!

Sorry its taken me so long to meow back but I'm really behind on my blogs. I bet you thought I got lost or something. We moved to Alpurrta & it took a long time. I sure ain't used to this much snow but maw says I'll like the summertime alot. I'd love it if you'd come over & we'll do some snow angels together; let me know when you're coming & I'll get maw to scare up a batch of yummy warm vittles for us when we come in. There is quite a few neat hiding places for us in here with 3 levels and a short walk away is a farmers field with lots of bush to hunt varmints. Did all the kittens go to good homes? It would be so hard to give them away; do you miss them? I sure hope Santa Paws was good to you. How has your new year been so far? I'm adjusting purrty good in my new surroundings & am really looking furward to your visit; we'll have a blast!

WHAT!!!!
-6° and your mom is running around without a coat/ What? Was she trying to freeze those kidney stones? It must be a dry -6? We don't know but we know when it is even 1° here there are warnings about not staying out for longer than a few minutes unless properly clothed. Mommys husband lived in Fairbanks, Alaska in the military so mom says knows about ice crystals and such but you still have to wear a coat. Sorry we are SO-O-O far behind. Mom spent about 2 hrs digging the car out of the snowbanks this morning and missed a dr appt. And they hadn't even plowed our road yet. Everyone was complaining that they would dig out their driveway in time for the snowplows to go by and throw all the road snow back in the end of the driveways again. We all watched mom from the window. She was cold and tired when she came in, had lunch and we piled on her lap for a nap. How are you doing my furriend? Thanks fur letting me come by & visit while my pawrents & fursibs moved; that was a nice break for me! You're awsome! Gosh, I bet the kittens have grown like crazy by now, I wouldn't recognize them,,,aww, that little black one in her hand; sooo very helpless at that age! Can you believe we were so small once too? Hard to imagine!
Well, the move was a real ruff one Mouse. Very long trip & meowm kept coming back to the truck to check on us all the time whilst they were in with the border & customs folk; it took paw furever it seemed. They took both of us girls (me & Sasha; border collie) the first trip & paw had to go back for more stuff & he brought my furbrothers Slick & Klovis then. They sure had alot of truck trouble, ran into a deer & did a little damage to maw's classic car which was on a trailer behind..she was Not very happy but glad all the heartbeats got back safe anyhow. Now gotta get the car fixed...another thing ontop of the big pile. Anyhow, I hope you're all ready for Santa Paws...oh, gosh, we gotta do that yet..hmmm, I wonder which box the tree & ornaments are in? Well, I'd best bolt...good seeing ya again Mouse & I hope all is well with mew all!

Wow FF is $1.39 a can there!!
Now you make me feel guilty for sticking up my nose at FF chicken or any other flavor I don't like. How exciting that Fancy and others have probably gotten new forever homes. Glad your mom is not going to give a kitty to thye lady who intends to throw it outside in the spring. Mom likes that little orange one and wants to make sure it gets a good, inside forever home. You said it is just 7 de below freezing and your mom wore no coat! My mom wears a jacket right up into it being about 50° outside. Chilly here this morning, our furnace came on about 5:30 this morning. Mom has it turned down to 55° at nite so it must have gotten colder than that. It is now a balmy 31° with snow predicted for this weekend. Mom won $250 JC Penney gift card and she is trying to find out if she has a time limit on it, because at the same time she won a $10 card that says on it must be used by 12/31. Too bad it wasn't at Petco. Mom went to walmart this morning and bought a case of Fancy Feast canned food, should last about 10 days for 3 of us.

I know, humans are totally goofy. Mama is always helping me practice hunting, and she got a big window so i can see the critters. But she furgets to open it! Only $30. At one time it was that if you got your cat or kitten from that shelter but later they opened it up to anyone that had a cat that needed spaying or neutering. You just had to be put on the waiting list. 2 yrs ago they built the new clinic. A little girl asked for it under the Make A Wish Foundation and I guess they couldn't do it but they did send out $10,000 and some volunteers and asked for donations for the rest, and over a weeks time they were able to rebuild a builing and make a clinic. Greta to see you! I got all mixed uo when mama went on her blogging strike (she hates me to call it that) so I'm glad you dropped by. Now I can find you again! We haven't caught much except a few spiders. There are ginornous black crows in the front yard, but I can't get at them. And the humans chased away all the bats and blocked the mouse entrance. Oh, but you should have seen that human run! He pulled out the old range and vroom! I was a blue streak leaping past his face. He screamed and mama laughed and laughed. That is too bad that you guys don't have the same kind of laws. But all of the shelters here are not the same either. Some are county run, some are private. We only have one shelter for the whole county we live in and it is private and a no kill. It is not the best looking shelter but they do have a seperate building for dogs and a seperate building for cats and an annex for kittens. With donations last year they were able to build a surgical unit so that it also paid for a vet to come once a month and he will do up to 30 spay/neuters in one day an it only costs $30 per animal. Oh that was such a sad story about Hero. I am so glad that your meowmy got him out of that shelter. Never heard of a plywood and chicken wire shelter. Sounds like they need a lot of help. A Long and Gracious Fall by David Budbill
A long and gracious fall this year.
The leaves are down. Gardens: emptied,
manured, tilled, smooth, and waiting.
Mower and tiller serviced and put away.
Smoker put away, as is the summer table.
Prayer flags, windsocks and their poles: down.
Twenty-foot homemade badminton poles,
peace flag at the top of one, store-bought net—all down and put away for another year.
No more outdoor summer chores.
Fall planting — peonies and tiger lilies — done.
Summer flower stalks removed, beds mulched,
a blanket for the cold. Fall pruning done.
Woodshed roof hammered down and sealed again.
Cellar closed. Drive staked and flagged so the
snowplow knows where to go.
What else is there to do? Finally, for once, we are ready for the snow.
Ready now to come inside. Time now for
words and music, poems and shakuhachi.
Time now to light some incense,
sit and stare at candlelight.

Wow, finally made it back to you. Mom has carpenter here to fix a bedroom window. She was afraid she would need a whole new window but he is putting a new moisture barrier in and new wood down on the sill. So we were in hiding. He had to run home to take his wife somewhere and said he would be back so we snuck out. It is really warm here today. Mom, the old neighborhood ogre just went out and yelled at the little kids in the area for climbing her pussy willow tree, knocking the bird houses down and breaking 3 branchs. You have quite a big family with the 'woofs' & all. That border collie sure must be cute. We're moving back to Alberta cuz of dad's job; wrong time of year fur that I know. Maw's back is real sore; so much to do, so I'll be offline for awhile; really don't know how long. I hope you don't forget about me & we can meow again after this nightmare is over. You are one beautiful Kitty and we're so glad that you now have a Forever Home. Mommy thinks you might have some Birman in you cause you have white mitts. My Mommy rescued a Kitten that someone thru out in the St. & he was only about 6 or 7 wks. old. Bailey turned out to be a gorgeous Birman and lived to be 9 yrs. old. He died of lung cancer (NO Mommy doesn't smoke either). But at least he had 9 good years with Mommy. My Mom also says that there's a place in Hell for people who abuse Animals and Humans for that matter. Anyway, my name is Koda and you just visited me earlier today. Hi Mouse
When our storm was getting ready to come we made sure mom went to Walmart and stockpiled plenty of Fancy Feast and temptations. So we are all set for a few more days. We got snow today so it was a reminder to mom to keep plenty of gas in the car and plenty of Temptations in the cupboard. Almost time for din din.

Mouse, well thaks for the clarification
Mom and I sure thought that those kittens certainly grew awfully quick. Didnt know that there were another set of kittens. No mom said we were not going trick or treating last nite. But at 8m I was still waitiing for my temptations and mom said no, because I hadnt eaten dinner yet. Actually I had thought if I ate Tucker and Bella's temptations that that would BE my dinner. I went to Thomas' page to look at the kitties. WOW they have grown haven't they? You have a foot of snow? We have none, just lots of rain and wind. We were fine during the Hurricane Sandy it was just really miserable outside but we were toasty warm inside and we never lost power. I figured our snow angels wouldn't last too long, oh well, we've got all winter to make more, don't we? What kind of doggies do you got? We have a border collie who guards us 24/7, she's quite a gal!
Oh I bet those kittens are SOOO cute! How many do you have now? Can you go near them too Mouse or are they offlimits?
Gosh, I'm sorry your mom had to go thru all that with her back...thats incredible...3 times!! Mom had to get a cervical fusion almost 2 yrs ago; it sure didn't seem to help; she's had several injuries to it since she got hit by a low flying mallard on the back of a motorcycle when she was young & foolish, so they decided that would help but it isn't. Packing to move ain't helping it much either, mol! We'll just have to keep up the purrtherapy Mouse. I hope you have a purrfect full moon tonight sweetie!

A lazy sleeping day. I sat on moms lap for about a half hour while she read. It is starting to get dark out here., also getting ready to rain.
