This sweet kitty joined the angels in February 2013 after losing his battle with complications that developed after being hit by a car the month before. He’d survived having both legs broken & surgery, but was unable to walk & had to drag himself to the litterbox. He was very brave & stayed a very sweet boy during all of the pain, infections, examinations & becoming a foster; but the angels knew that his life would not be a full one with his disabilities & thus called him home. Please pounce by to paw ANGEL CRASH #248838 a vote today so that his foster mom will have a fond memory to cherish & so that this sweet angel can earn the honor of making his star the most brilliant in the night sky tomorrow night.

Congratulations to our newest royal cat QUEEN SPUNKY #161265!! Your campaign about the details of cat shows was stupendous & we learned a lot about how things work for the fabulous show cats. We’re looking forward to some California sunshine during May as you reign from your house on the beach & look forward to hearing more letters to God from beloved pets. Our gang of COTD candidates consists of Gypsy, Ellie Mae, Andy, Mindy and Moses - all found and resuced by their future daddy . Please paw by & meet this beautiful Champagne Point Tonkinese kitty. KAYLIN #251700 is not just a beautiful face she is also a CFA Champion & a Mom. She was hand picked for her new parents by her sister Wendy's breeder when she found out how sick Wendy was. But this sweet girl was already a mom so her new parents had to wait to bring her home. All of her kitties found their furever homes & then she had her Big Girl surgery. She was finally able to come to her new home in January. She wasn't sure if she wanted to stay at first, but her new parents gave her lots of love & support so we are happy to report she is settling in quite nicely. KAYLIN #251700 spends her days hanging out on Mom & Dads laps, playing with her toys, & napping in the sun. She also likes to tear through the apartment at top speed and has been known to do it in the middle of the night too. Her most favorite things to eat are the Roast Chicken that she shares with her parents, and her Blue food. She Loves to make new friends so won't you please stop and give KAYLIN #251700 your vote and make a new friend.

This week’s special recognition candidates were found on the side of a road near a wooded area when they were barely old enough to fend for themselves. Their guardian angel was working hard that day & led their new mom to the right spot where she picked up the three mewing furballs & took them home. These precious sibs have stolen the hearts of many CC members by mom’s picture postings on FB & it’s pawsome being able to watch them grow up here in our loving community. Colt and Winchester love to talk to calm Kimber down because she’s very shy, unlike her more outgoing sibs. They love to play with their mouse toys & frequently pick on their bigger sibs throughout the day to see how much they can get away with. You can often find this rambunctious trio of young felines looking out of the window talking to birds, or playing with their light up ball. They’re snugglers too! They’re often found in the lap of mom or grandpa or you can see them snuggling happily together in their kitty bed. The inseparable trio of COLT,WINCHESTER & KIMBER#251320, are also keeping the house hopping with their energy level so let’s help them bounce off the walls a little more by pouncing by to paw them a COTD vote today, Monday April 29th, so they can earn their very first badge of honor tomorrow!

Thanks for the birthday and COTD wishes!!!! I had a great birthday yesterday, Mom took me outside to sit in the nice sun, and I had special treats and tuna, overall a great day, sun and napping!!! Purrfect for me!!!! I was so happy I am COTD today, I told Mom I wanted more tuna and to go out with her again, but she said she has to work so ok to tuna, but no to outside (its nice today, but if you can believe it, we are supposed to get a foot of snow tonight and tomorrow ...YUCK) Hope you have a great day!!! Purrs.....Vegas Sweet Sixteen!!!!!

Dear CC Furiends! You are cordially invited to come and meet Fang & Drooler #236550 on Monday, April 1st! These precious kitties are so thankful to have a loving family after they were abandoned when their previous owners moved away. Their new family, who are long time loyal members of CC, realized that Fang & Drooler faced an uncertain future because of their advanced age and medical conditions; so they decided to take them in and try to find them another home. Fang & Drooler #236550 have now taken their place among the other rescues in the family! They love to hang out with mom, enjoy spending time in their beds or on the couch, & enjoy playtime outside! They both meow their displeasure with car rides, strangers, vacuums, & trash trucks; Fang, in particular, has an aversion to feathers, preferring to play only with a shoelace! These sweet kitties are also dealing with an Auto Immune disorder: Drooler has had 7 teeth removed as a result; Fang suffers from mouth and paw ulcers, and is not too happy that he has to take medications for the ulcers, insulin to treat Diabetes, stress, & will start meds for Hyperthyroidism. Along with Luvbug, Lil Jag, Buster, Smudge, & Angels Kuce, Sphinx, & Dancing Bear, Fang & Drooler #236550 have been given a chance to live with this wonderful family, who are well known to everyone for the love and compassion they have for homeless and abandoned cats! Neelix is a very handsome seven year old tabby who was rescued along with his brother when he was a tiny kitten abandoned in a parking lot. Since that tiny kitten was adopted by his loving pawrents he has trained them to be excellent staff for himself and his brothers. Regarding his brothers, Hedley and Jakar, the three of them comprise the famous (or perhaps infamous) “pawty animals”. These boys are always the life of any party, they create lots of fun at every MHL Mouse Hockey Game, and they are always the first to lend a paw on any project that benefits the CC community. They’re always there to offer comfort to the sad, good thoughts and healing wishes to the sick and congratulations to those who are celebrating. Neelix and his family always support the COTD and COTM candidates. They are a credit to the CC community!
Neelix is an outstanding member of our CC family, and since both of his brothers already have their very own COTD badges, it seems that it is time for Neelix to have one of his own. Won’t you please drop by and give this handsome guy a vote, on Monday so he can have the badge he so much deserves.

We are please to introduce this week's Special Recognition Candidate, Percy #245206. Percy came to be at her forever home due to the kindness of a neighbor. The neighbor took in Percy's mom cat and once her litter was born, the human daughters at her forever home fell in love with her. Percy #245206 stood out because of her wonderful personality. Percy is a prima donna kitty until it is playtime; then watch out! Percy #245206 loves to play with her sibling, Simba, and she enjoys ambushing him. They have a grand time together playing with their toys and each other. Percy is also a talker. She loves to have a conversation and even comes when her name is called. That is smart since a treat may be involved if your name is being called, and Percy #245206 enjoys Temptation treats. She gets a little upset, though, if she is expecting a treat and she is ignored. Percy #245206 can use her paws like furry hands and manages to open things. Percy likes to sit on the back of the recliner and watch her family as she relaxes and observes what is going on. Jack & Feather #244567 love to tell their rescue story and they meow a big thank you with love to mom & dad for giving them their forever home & making them such an important part of the Zoo Crew! Mom found Jack & Feather outside while she was helping a neighbor round up her loose puppies. They were tiny kittens, covered with fleas and weighing less than 2 pounds each. Now they are thriving under the watchful loving care of their wonderful family, who are long standing loyal members of our CC family! Feather & Jack #244567 are both accomplished jumpers, and love being outside in the cat enclosure. They were named by the children of a family friend: Jack reminded them of the pirate Jack Sparrow and fursis Feather is so named because she was as tiny & delicate as a feather! Hi Tim, My name is Trixie & I'm running for COTM in March & would love to have your paw votes of support each day!

Happy March 1st everyone! It’s time to wake up because there’s a calico cyclone pouncing into your homes & my happy twirls & spins will twist you around until you’re dizzy…MOL! Most of you have watched me grow up here on CC after I was brought to my furever home on March 16, 2010. I was a wee little thing then but my catitute was already full grown & I made myself right at home in my new surroundings! And then I started pouncing around CC…MOL! To start off my COTM campaign I’m going to tell you about some of the world’s smallest animals. Please watch where you’re pouncing today & don’t swish your tails too hard so we don’t hurt any while we’re looking at them! We’ll start off with…the WORLD’S SMALLEST DOG IN TERMS OF HEIGHT: the smallest living dog is Boo Boo, a long-haired female Chihuahua who proves that good things come in small packages. Boo Boo is just 4 inches tall and weighs in at a mere 2 pounds. She lives in Raceland, Ky., with her owner. WOW…only 4 inches tall means she could be mistaken for a rodent if a cat has bad eyesight…MOL! The next dog on our visit today would have the same problem so please keep your claws retracted kitties or we could have a lawsuit on our paws! The WORLD’S SMALLEST DOG IN TERMS OF LENGTH: The smallest dog in terms of length is Heaven Sent Brandy, a female Chihuahua who measured 15.2 cm (6 in) from the nose to the tip of the tail on 31 January 2005. Brandy lives with her owner in Largo, Florida. Now we’ll move on to some petite pooches that deserve our respect for their abilities! WORLD’S SMALLEST WORKING DOG isTiny Lucy! Meet 6-inch, 2.5-pound Lucy from New Jersey who Guinness recently named the world's shortest working dog. Besides being incredibly cute and tiny, this Yorkshire terrier is also a therapy dog.
Since we started with dogs today it’s only fair for us to end with our own species…MOL! Now we move on to…the WORLD’S SMALLEST CAT: Mr Peebles, a 2 year old domestic cat of Central Illinois holds the Guinness Book of World Records award for the smallest living cat (his small stature is due to a genetic defect). Weighing in around 3lbs he is 6.1 inches high this is definitely the smallest cat I’ve ever seen! Mr. Peebles also has his own Facebook page so pounce over to check it out.

And so my first day of campaign chaos ends & the tiny dogs & cats can go back to napping. Since tomorrow is Caturday we’ll be taking off to visit a zoo someplace in the world so plan to be at the community airport early to get a good seat on one of our planes, & don’t forget to bring along your camera. Her grandma owns my furdad Champagne De Lancer but her furmom Sparkle Frost was given up for adoption. A new furmom pounced in to take her place when she miscarried her own litter & Sparkle Frost never minded that one tiny bit. This pretty little girl was even named after her adopted furmom & could pass for one of her own kittens. Like most kittens her age she passes the day by eating, sleeping & running wildly through the house as she plays wit her her other young sibs. Handsome Simba was waiting to be adopted when his future mom came looking for a female cat. He jumped right out of his cage and into her lap and she fell madly in love. He now happily lives with his new family and fursibling Percy. Simba comes when he is called and loves drinking water from your hand and doing a sit-up for treats. While he enjoys looking out the window, he gets very angry when the neighbor cat is in his view and takes it out on poor Percy. He plays with Percy a lot as well and his motto is "don't worry, by happy." Please paw on by his page, 24520, and leave him a vote for his very own COTD badge. Jakar is a handsome 3 year old who always looks good in his basic black. He was born feral, but became a beloved member of his family as a tiny kitten. He’s a fun loving guy who loves to play fetch with his pawrents, always bringing them toys to toss for him to retrieve. He also likes to wrestle with his brother Hedley who outweighs him by a lot!
He and his brothers Hedley and Neelix are active in MHL hockey and have become very good players in just a short time.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Jakar’s personality is his kindness and loyalty to his CC friends and family. Not a day goes by that you don’t see Jakar offer congratulations to his friends, bringing kind words to those who are ill or sad and supporting the CC family as a whole. Jakar is a wonderful and caring member of our CC community. Let’s show him how much we appreciate him by joining together to vote for him on Monday the 28th, to bring him his COTD badge. He certainly deserves it and his family will be so happy for him to be honored with a shiny COTD badge.

1/18/13 A Real TGIF from Barney!!! 20 degrees
Sorry furrends, mom just is having a hard time with the early schedule. Her eyes are blurry this morning and she is blaming us, imagine that! It's probably Molly's fault. She decided to sleep in Zeus's room and Andy too. What do they know, maybe its a bit warmer in there. A few of you asked for the rest of Molly's story. We basically finished it yesterday, except to say she generally keeps the household on schedule. Ah-Ha! She gets mom to bed on time, gets her up, makes sure the dogs get out, makes sure mom gets food on the tables at the appropriate times, etc! You have the idea.

Well today we are starting Andy's story. Also known as Handy Andy, Andy came to us about 3 yrs ago, He and another cat named Milo (not related to any other Andy and Milo on CC) were with a group of cats being fed in a garage off a Minneapolis alleyway. The volunteer feeding them noticed that Andy and Milo were friendlier than the other cats and thought they had been abandoned by a neighbor, who had moved out a few months earlier. Andy was the youngest, under a year, and Milo always ate together with him and made sure he got his share of food from the bowl. Our volunteer was amazed at how the older cat always shared with the younger and concluded that they must have been from the same household, though not the same age. She asked if a foster home could be found, because she did not have room in her home and was concerned that a few cats had disappeared from the alley and , perhaps, came to a bad end.

Mom immediately volunteered to take both cats, because she had just had our last foster adopted and the large guestroom was available. Plenty of room for two cats, as long as they got along, which they surely did.

Before coming to us as fosters, Andy and Milo went to the vet to be checked out. They were basically in good health, except for parasites, worms and fleas. Andy needed neutering and Milo was already fixed (didn't know he was broken!). They were definitely friendly and went immediately into the adoption program.

Well, again we must continue the story tomorrow. We will tell you, however, that Andy and Milo were originally adopted by a family with one other male cat, a white Persian, but they did not get along and were returned to mom, because of fighting. Mom had advised the family to keep the cats separated and to use gradual introductions, but, as happens more often than we would like, the humans did not seem to get "gradual" and said the cats were breaking through the plastic barrier they had erected.

Handsome Zeus was rescued from a kill shelter by a rescue group and is now living with his foster mom until a furever home is found for him, though by her admission, that may change. This sweete little boy is proving to be a handful by getting into all the places he doesn't belong. Hehehe! He loves playing with wand toys and catnip mice. You can find him hanging out on the top of the coffee maker, in the sink, the top of the computer or on the stove. Now we see where he gets his rep for being in all the wrong places! Gracie #230155 is a beautiful 5 year old Persian that was with her former family for only 8 months. Sadly Gracie was displaced when her owner brought a new puppy home & her husband didn’t want to keep both Gracie & the puppy. There is a happy ending to Gracie’s story though, because her forever family was quick to take her in and she now has her own special place in their loving home! Mom tells us that Gracie had two litters of beautiful kittens and was a wonderful mother. Gracie #230155 is loving, has many interests and is very talented! She is very deft of paw and can swipe food from your plate if you look away! Gracie is a cheese lover, and also enjoys cheesy treats! One of Gracie’s favorite things to do is play fetch with foam ear plugs! She also enjoys being outside when the weather is good, and can hop over the fence to get out to the front yard! Quiet time is spent getting lots of love & pets, lounging on the bed or sitting by the window! Gracie’s wonderful family also shares their loving home with fursibs Bandit Bob, George and Lulu/Trixie! This is our last special recognition catpaign of 2012 & we’ve got the purrfect kitty to ring in the New Year! ALUMINUM #240737 is a beautiful young kitty that was noticed at a local vet office when mom was looking for another kitty after the loss of her special boy. There were several strays up for adoption but none of them caught the eye of mom until she came to the cage of a sweet adult cat that had finished weaning her litter of kittens & been spayed by the clinic. As soon as her would be mom picked her up & cuddled her she knew she was the purrfect one to join her family. She took her home that day in a crate that wouldn’t latch but did great holding the cage door closed even though her hand was being attacked the entire ride home. As soon as Aluminum #240737 arrived at her new forever home she settled in quickly & began purring. She’s extremely loyal to her mom & follows her on every walk she takes plus loves to wrestle & play bite with her. Aluminum says there isn’t a treat on the market that she won’t eat but only eats wholesome, good-for-you cat food. ~Caturday meows from the NICE Crew~
Well mom & dad got their shopping all done & even managed to stay within their budget...MOL! Big sis wasn't able to come over to watch us but GM & GP (dad's pawents) were very willing to watch the kids for them.
Big sis was sad & had something else to do when she found her neighbor's dog killed in her yard after it got hit on the road. It took her a while but she finally located her neighbor & they came over to claim the poor doggie's body. The neighbor said it had been missing for a week & they'd filed a report with the police but they thought that she was probably gone forever. Sadly for them it looks as if she was making her way home but missed it by only a few yards. It makes us very sad when things like that happen but we're glad that big sis took care of things so well & that she has a big heart where all animals are concerned.
I hear K Steve #206575 is out caroling today! I can hear his meows echoing across the community & will happily pounce over to join him & pass our some candy canes as we prowl around. Teehee...I've also found a cute poem to share with you that describes the fun that grown-ups have before the kids have a chance to. Have a pawtastic Caturday everyone!

To get to specific pages that are being featured for a campaign you need to delete your page number from the address bar at the top of your browser & put in the page number you need & then hit enter. I've been on CC for so long that sometimes I forget that our new users don't know the easy navigation short-cuts that us 'old-timers' do.
