We live in Santa Cruz, CA, on the CA Coast 75 miles South of San Francisco, just on the edge of the city.. You look like you have a really nice back yard. Our Mom is our warden, keeps us indoors. We have lots of wildlife so we are indoor kitties. Mom doesn't want a fox or coyote to snack on us.

Maggie is all black and her son Yogi is all grey. Tipper is a pretty grey & white Tuxedo Kitty.

Gracie #230155 is a beautiful 5 year old Persian that was with her former family for only 8 months. Sadly Gracie was displaced when her owner brought a new puppy home & her husband didn’t want to keep both Gracie & the puppy. There is a happy ending to Gracie’s story though, because her forever family was quick to take her in and she now has her own special place in their loving home! Mom tells us that Gracie had two litters of beautiful kittens and was a wonderful mother. Gracie #230155 is loving, has many interests and is very talented! She is very deft of paw and can swipe food from your plate if you look away! Gracie is a cheese lover, and also enjoys cheesy treats! One of Gracie’s favorite things to do is play fetch with foam ear plugs! She also enjoys being outside when the weather is good, and can hop over the fence to get out to the front yard! Quiet time is spent getting lots of love & pets, lounging on the bed or sitting by the window! Gracie’s wonderful family also shares their loving home with fursibs Bandit Bob, George and Lulu/Trixie! This is our last special recognition catpaign of 2012 & we’ve got the purrfect kitty to ring in the New Year! ALUMINUM #240737 is a beautiful young kitty that was noticed at a local vet office when mom was looking for another kitty after the loss of her special boy. There were several strays up for adoption but none of them caught the eye of mom until she came to the cage of a sweet adult cat that had finished weaning her litter of kittens & been spayed by the clinic. As soon as her would be mom picked her up & cuddled her she knew she was the purrfect one to join her family. She took her home that day in a crate that wouldn’t latch but did great holding the cage door closed even though her hand was being attacked the entire ride home. As soon as Aluminum #240737 arrived at her new forever home she settled in quickly & began purring. She’s extremely loyal to her mom & follows her on every walk she takes plus loves to wrestle & play bite with her. Aluminum says there isn’t a treat on the market that she won’t eat but only eats wholesome, good-for-you cat food. Their human mom found them in a parking lot one day and gave them both a loving forever home. ~I'm happily pouncing on everyone today~
And I'm enjoying every minute of it...MOL! I'm famous for grabbing swishing tails & if you move I might just tackle you. Mom says I'm a great match for keeping up with our calico cyclone Trixie, but I think I can outdo her antics tenfold! Nothing is safe from my pounce attacks, including people...MOL! I'm not mean but I put the energizer bunny to shame with my energy levels & I don't give up easily either. So far today (& remember it's still fairly early) I've gotten in trouble for attacking the blinds, dumping a water dish,hissing at Joseph when he came in (I do that daily...MOL) & accidentally unplugging the living room TV. I've also pounced on Patches & made her run with me, pounced on Zaboo & got flipped, & had a wonderful boxing match with Trixie. Right now Trixie & I are racing through the house at top speed & jumping across the furniture. She's still faster then me but I can jump just as high & am more stubborn about giving up...MOL! Well got to go so I can see where she disappeared to & start some more chaos.

We woke up this morning as usual. Mom was busy and didn't get onto CC until just now, and...WHOA! There was this message, naw, couldn't be..but there it was! My photo in the window! Whaaat?!
All I can say is THANK YOU to all the sweet kitties and cool cats who voted for me! For once, I am totally speechless! We have made so many new furriends here, so many wonderful furriends, we are very blessed! But hey! My housemates, Neelix and Jakar, tell me this is a perfect reason to PAWTY ! So everyone is invited to come on by!
We've got lots of Turkey, crab, catnip, (naturally), and plenty of treats! Help us celebrate!

It’s very nice meeting you & we hope you’ll enjoy your time here & will make lots of new furfuriends along the way. If you go to the home page you’ll find all kinds of fun things to do as well as loads of information by hitting the various links or tabs on the page. The University gives you the opportunity to test your feline knowledge & earn a badge for each session that you complete plus there are games & contests under other tabs too.
Do you know how to navigate easily to the pages you want or see mentioned in blogs? Look at the address bar (URL) in your browser. The numbers on the end are your page number. Each page has a different number so all you need to do is erase your 6 digit number, type in the page you want to visit, and then press enter. Wahlah…you should be on the page that you typed in. This makes it much easier to vote for other cats that are running for specific badges throughout the month & will also let you connect with other kitties that are visiting that cat. Another way is by using links. The links are always in blue so to answer someone that blogged to you (or you’ve found an interesting sounding cat you’d like to visit), all you need to do is click on their link to take you to their page. I know it sounds slightly confusing at first but once you get the hang of it you’ll have loads of fun interacting with others in the community.

The CC community is comprised of thousands of pages. Here are some special pages that are frequented by our feline friends:

FURRIES AT THE BOTTOM OF MY GARDEN
(Sarah Hartwell)

There are furries at the bottom of my garden,
Some are ginger, some are tabby, some are black,
They are trampling on the borders and the veggies,
They are climbing up the fruit trees for a nap.

The furries keep on rolling in the catnip,
They have dug up all the seedlings in a day,
But how can I chastise them for their actions
When I laugh out loud to watch my furries play.

Some people have neat flower beds and borders,
Their seedlings thrive and so do all their veg,
But I can't give my furries marching orders,
Though they bring in half the garden to my bed.

There are furries at the bottom of my garden,
Where they frolic and they gambol in the sun,
Though they leave it looking like a recent war-zone,
I love my little furries, every one.

I figured since today is the day that family gather to visit each other, this would be the recipe for the perfect family get together. Leaving a vote to honor all families whether furry or human.

How To Create The Perfect Family

You will need:
1 large house
3-6 people, depending on how long you want to wait for it to be done
3 cups of pets
2 cups of patience
3 ounces of anger/frustration
3 quarts of laughter
4 teaspoons of trust
And last but definitely not least,
Lots and lots of love

First, open the house, and make sure that it will be the right size for your family. Mix the desired amount of people with the pets, carefully so you don’t damage them. In a separate bowl, stir the love and laughter together. Set aside. Taking each person separately, evenly distribute the patience and trust, making sure that each one gets an equal amount (Failure to distribute evenly may lead to different recipe! See recipe for “My impatient family” for details…). Carefully open the bottle of anger/frustration. Using a Q-tip, dab small portions of the anger/frustration onto each person. Lastly, take the love and laughter and sprinkle it all over the house, pets, and people. Let sit until all parts of the recipe are thoroughly combined, and voila! Your Perfect Family is complete.

Happy Thanksgiving
I know most kitties will be busy tomorrow for the holiday, so I am leaving a vote tonight with a little turkey poem MOL

Resting After Thanksgiving Dinner

His little paws patter on the kitchen floor
as Mom opens up the oven door.
He looks at her impatiently
as she bastes the golden brown turkey.

"Not yet," she says, and he glides away
off to chase imaginary prey.
But soon he tires, settles down,
and dozes, dreams of a turkey brown.

It's his dream so there's not a bone,
just turkey meat - his alone.
He awakens when he hears a clatter,
sees food on the table, the bird on a platter.

He starts to yowl and meow loud and clear.
Mom walks to the kitchen and says "Look here!"
He starts to follow, the smell is a lure,
there's a plate on the floor, its turkey for sure!

He eats and eats till there's room for no more.
What a neat little eater - not a crumb on the floor!
Later that night, he settles in mom's lap
for a purry, fuzzy, kitty cat nap.

"Thanksgiving Day is surely the best!"
he dreams of goodies he'll eat after his rest.

Countdown to the gathering
Thanksgiving by Linda McCarriston

Every year we call it down upon ourselves,
the chaos of the day before the occasion,
the morning before the meal. Outdoors,
the men cut wood, fueling appetite
in the gray air, as Nana, Arlene, Mary,
Robin—whatever women we amount to—
turn loose from their wrappers the raw,
unmade ingredients. A flour sack leaks,
potatoes wobble down counter tops
tracking dirt like kids, blue hubbard erupts
into shards and sticky pulp when it's whacked
with the big knife, cranberries leap away
rather than be halved. And the bird, poor
blue thing—only we see it in its dead skin—
gives up for good the long, obscene neck, the gizzard,
the liver quivering in my hand, the heart.

So what? What of it? Besides the laughter,
I mean, or the steam that shades the windows
so that the youngest sons must come inside
to see how the smells look. Besides
the piled wood closing over the porch windows,
the pipes the men fill, the beers
they crack, waiting in front of the game.

Any deliberate leap into chaos, small or large,
with an intent to make order, matters. That's what.
A whole day has passed between the first apple
cored for pie, and the last glass polished
and set down. This is a feast we know how to make,
a Day of Feast, a day of thanksgiving
for all we have and all we are and whatever
we've learned to do with it: Dear God, we thank you
for your gifts in this kitchen, the fire,
the food, the wine. That we are together here.
Bless the world that swirls outside these windows—
a room full of gifts seeming raw and disordered,
a great room in which the stoves are cold,
the food scattered, the children locked forever
outside dark windows. Dear God, grant
to the makers and keepers power to save it all.
