How We Met

She kept coming to visit us all summer long, she loves our dog Shadow. I would be out walking Shadow and all of a sudden Dot would be there!!! But what really cinched the deal was helping her dad work on the tractor one day, I think he found her irresistable!! She was very sick when she came to us. She had an URI after about 2 months of Antibiotics she was better and could finally meet Tucker & Mouse. Tucker & Dot are the best of Buddy's , Dot and Mouse are still working on it.

Rootin' tootin' high-falootin' Cowboy Day 7-23-16
And we mustn't forget Hot Enough For Ya? Day. We ain't that hot yet, we have one more day of breathing room, then the 90s turn into 100s by next weekend. We're feeling for ya, Luvbug. Here where we are, we go through those HOT summers with the wildfires. We've been lucky so far this year.

So, A. Fang took over for wheezy Luvbug on the putting green today, and after swatting a few mosquitoes managed a nothing-to-be-proud of 56/11. Can't win 'em all ... Mallow sits back and enjoys her last nice day before the heat wave, and covers her 'dog with the works while her catty Moji putts for a cool 61/7 ... J.C. & Mimi can be found chilling by the pool and also swatting their quota of mosquitoes. No one seems interested in learning about the little buzzers! J.C. has a hot & humid 77/14.

Dot & Tuck will be joining Mimi at the pool after helping themselves to plenty of that frozen delight, ice cream. Ha! Thought I was gonna say daiquiris didn't ya! Dot drops in a 72/9 for her putt and heads in to the club house for ice cream refills ... And Persey is in full cowboy regalia as he hops on GTt and spurs her to the garden hose to help the garden compensate for no rain. (We had to run the sprinkler here, our "rain" turned out to be a dud). Look out Persey! That Gracie can buck like a sidewinder! Maybe better stick to putting. That 70/7 ain't bad!

Cowboy up the scores:
1st - Tie, Moji & Persey, 7.
2nd - Dot, 9.
3rd - A. Fang, 11.

And all alone in the dusty cart barn today, looks like J.C. Make sure to feed the carts and give them plenty of water. Then hoof it back over to poolside. We need lots of paws to swat all these skeeters!

One more Saturday 7-16-16
Looks like the shack catties get to strut their stuff one more time on CC. Well, woop-de-doo.

Hey, would you look at this? Personal Chef day, and our purrsonal chef takes the day off. Be sure to send your angry cards & letters to Engine!

A. Fang(54/9) should have saved this score for Luvbug in tomorrow's card game. He really got those carts spit-shined to a gleaming finish! ... Mojo(59/14) wastes a good card-playing score too, and also can't decide what's on the menu: yams, spinach, or moon pies. See how much easier things are when our chef is here? At least she can drown her sorrows in some strawberry-rhubarb wine.

Persey(62/8) is happy to give GTt the day off so she can sing to her baby zucchini. Maybe we should cut her off of the strawberry-rhubarb wine? Just sayin' ... J.C.(76/13) might become kitty fritters if he isn't careful putting around the links in his mom's woody wagon. So, lay off the strawberry-rhubarb wine! ... Haha! Dot(70/7) had to tend to a sick puppy in the wee hours of the morning. MOM had to tend to an insane pair of dogs barking furiously at nothing in the wee hours of the morning. Maybe if she juices them up with enough of the SR-wine before bed, huh?

Okay, so. Last day YET??
1st - Dot, 7. Sick puppy tending helps your putting!
2nd - Persey, 8. Rock-a-bye zucchini.
3rd - A. Fang, 9. You know, you coulda, shoulda...

And together in the cart barn for the wine tasting, Mojo & Dot, with their losing 14 and 13. Don't forget to save some for the rest of the shackers!

Hey
They extended the CC threat to 7/18
I will post this on CS also.
It is really mice to see you outside in the sunshine.
I visit the grave sites every time our OL goes out to get the weeds off, etc. Only since PD Budd was laid to rest there have I gone out. I sometimes stand on his grave too!
I have to look up his dates. I will send the words soon. Thanks for the offer and for remembering him.We are not really on youpet. Just CS and now on twitter since the Golf Bully insisted I open an account. That will be our CD back up. She has funny photos on there too.
I tried sending your OL a tweet. Not sure it worked since The Seniors tweeted back!
Get your own cat account. It is better not to have to depend on humans.
Funny story about that watch. Purrhaps you want your own jewelry?

Hi Dame Dot and family!
It’s sad to think that our meows on CC are coming to an end, but we take great solace in knowing that are furiendships will go on furever, where ever we may end up. Between the various cat websites, CC Survivor’s Group on FaceBook, purrsonal emails or just plain old fashion snail mail home addresses- however we need to stay in touch - we will.:) Before we forget to mention this, we have a page set up on http://catmewsroom.freeforums.net/, the Catmewsroom, and we also set up a page on YouPet.com (www.youpet.com/pet/184063). Of course now our Mom needs to learn how to navigate both sites! Mom’s email address is (amandrivas@sbcglobal.net), but most of you already know that.

We all have a strong feeling that once her grandson George goes back home with his pawrents, and our Mom and us no longer have our precious Cat Channel; well by golly, if that doesn’t make Mom learn how to use the mew websites fast, then nothing will. MOL! Right now our Mom has very little time for anything but her grandson. Humph! Okay, she is getting up extra early and staying up late to spend time with us cats, but that's a given, right?! MOL!

Little George is doing fine and so are all of us cats. We still have not warmed up to the little guy like Mom would have liked us to, but we do tolerate him. Hee, hee! George has the job of filling our dry cat food bowls every day and well, we can’t very well scratch the furless hand that feeds us. MOL! Our furiend Ebony, the black cat who lives next door with his fursis Sugar Bear, is the only one of us cats that has been brave enough to let George pet him and even sits in his lap to be brushed! Mom is sure that Ebony would make a wonderful Therapy Cat! The rest of us...not so much.:(

Scamper, our outside furiend, is doing great. He sleeps most of the day in his outside cathouse or in the garage. At night, Scamper knows when it is bedtime and he comes quickly inside the garage so Mom can shut the door. Scamper gets the garage and backyard at bedtime. Scamper still does not like to be touched or picked up, but Mom keeps on trying. Baby steps!

Mom kept up-to-date on copying our CC files once a month, so we have our memory books all set. We’re not going to meow goodbye because we are pawsitive our special furiendships will continue. With all the conflicts and unspeakable tragedies going on in the world recently, furiends like the ones we were lucky enough to make during our years on CC, are much too precious and valued to ever lose sight of.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

P.S. Please forgive the cut & paste. We love you all dearly. ♥ =^.^=

Last Catty Saturday at CC 7-8-16
And just about everyone wore black for the occasion. Don't feel like the only one left in the dark, A. Fang & family, we never got an e-mail notification either. And we have TWO accounts, so they missed us twice!! They asked us to let them know if we didn't get an e-mail, but we refuse to be helpful. :-)

So, for his final day at the "old" shack, A. Fang manages a 56/11. After glancing at the other scores, that's actually not half bad ... Little Moji Blackbear(57/12) wore - what else? - an all-black golf ensemble. She brought her journal of CC good times to share in the lounge ... Persey(66/12) is full of fun & energy today. Did you take some of Wile E. Coyote's earthquake pills? He's jumping up & down with excitement, eager to show off his golfing and his white undies ... J.C.(79/16) is also resplendent in his black outfit, fit for cheering up the girls ... And Dot(71/8) has the best catty putt, and a bit of rubbish in the form of a cringe-worthy e-mail from the Petcha People. (See her post in CC2).

No winners or losers today (and aren't you happy about that, J.C.?) Let's all mosey over to the White Whisker Pub for some good old fashioned reminiscing, not to mention lots of crying in our Heinecats. As well as meeting the new self-proclaimed proprietor, Persey Twink. Did anyone remember to bring the slide projector? The "secret" videos of Steve? Those old home movies of ME in the fountain at the Rock & Roll HOF? Oh, we got a million memories, I hope we have time to do them justice.

Sorry Dot
But that "info" your mom got from the Petcha People is, to be polite, a load of BULL. The only "content" being moved are the articles, nothing more. NO community of members. And I am NOT going to "join other pet lovers" on Petcha. We never got an e-mail notification either, and mom has TWO e-mail accounts connected with CC! Neither one got a notice. And Crystal wants us to let them know if we didn't receive one. Why? To be helpful? For some reason, being helpful to them is the last thing on my mind right now...

Hey hey hey Dear Dot!
Nope, didn't quite faint dead away but am jumping up and down so excited to hear from you! It goes both ways; my blogger has been HORRIBLE about regular correspondence. She apologizes and says for sure we need to keep in touch. We didn't know your dad had Lyme disease; hope he is able to get treatments that work. We will be thinking of him, and of your dear mom of course. Ow, that sounds awful that she has back and leg pain....could this be Sciatica like Steve's Gma has? Hate to hear that....gosh, we certainly hope the insurance will belly up and pay for a much needed MRI to determine the cause. My mom had some of the back aches and numbness in her leg....she laid down flat on a hard floor with her legs up and it helped a lot. It has been much better. Is this part of getting older? Mom says it stinks; she hates getting the aches and pains that the years bring. Dad, mom and sis have all gone on a low carb diet and are trying hard to get healthier and more active. Dad was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and he is determined to bring his numbers down so he doesn't have to accelerate meds. So far, he's been doing well. He says it helps a lot that mom and sis are on the good eating kick too.

The three of them have taken a couple of trips; they went to Yellowstone, Black Hills and Badlands around Memorial Day and had a very fun and interesting road trip; then just got back from a mini-trip to Southern Indiana to visit historic sites. Very interesting and they went to a Riverboat casino on the Ohio River. An experience and mom says they lost some $$ but didn't lose their retirement, like with the stock market lately. Groan..... It hasn't been a good month for finances, that's furr sure.

The coyote and the yellow pooch are doing well and we had biggest brother visit with his pooch. Between the extra pooch and all the "KA-BOOOMS!" I hid and didn't come out.

I hope the Pip is going to be a good pooch; bummer that your mom is having issues with him. Is he sick or just learning some manners? Either way, it must be a challenge for your mom!

Mom and Dad will be heading to Pittsburgh in October and mom says she would be interested in meeting up again if your mom's schedule permits. It will be around the 21st of October I believe. Mom will have to check the reservations. They are meeting up with their New Jersey friends, as they have done for the past couple of years, and would love to see your mom either on the way out or the way back.

Have a super evening! Big hugs!!

Happy something ... I forgot 7-2-16
What I'd LIKE to forget are fireworks!! Some of the counties and cities around us just REFUSE to ban the darn things. And the "reasons" they give are SO lame! Such as they don't want to spoil the 4th of July and just want people to be able to "celebrate". VERY lame! What, you can't celebrate unless you're blowing stuff up or burning stuff down? Not to mention the terror it causes in animals, and the occasional body part being blown off. The fires, the ER visits, the lost pets. ALL so necessary to celebrate a holiday. NOT!! *getting down from my soapbox now*

Okay. A. Fang (54/9) putts his pitts *snort* right outside the back door ... Moji(59/14) is also in the pits with so many cherries she brought us all a bagful! ... Seems like the Pit Spit is THE activity de rigueur for this weekend, with Persey(53/8) getting into the spit of things too. His OL makes him spit out the blackbirds & voles he brings inside. The nerve!

J.C.(74/11) has improvised a major improvement in the Pit Spit, using a straw as a pea-shooter to spit a mouthful of pits at the neighbor dogs. We must try that here at home soon ... Dot(56/11) has been dodging "made-in-the-USA" pitts and needs a pit stop at the lounge for an anisette combo. With a cherry? *snicker* ... And finally April(60/6) hopes the weather is in a "cooperative" mood for the holiday weekend.

Okay, wipe the spit off your chins and let's see whose spit pits hit top spot:
1st - April, and a spit six.
2nd - Persey, spitting 8 voles & blackbirds.
3rd - A. Fang, spittin' 9 out his back door.

And Moji will do the cart barn honors today, with a pair of able assists from J.C. & Dot. I'm gonna go grab the hose & look for some fireworks to douse.

~~~Pig~~~
Watch out, I can use my snorkel
as a high-caliber pea-shooter!
Hi Dame Dot and family!
We're so sorry we haven't been pawing by very much the last month, but our Mom (and us cats!) are learning it is not an easy task taking care of and entertaining a small 3 year old boy! Hee, hee! We do miss our CC furiends a bunch, but we try to make it by each day for the daily voting and special occasions.
We read about your sweet Mom and the strange happening she experienced on Shadow's and Buckshot's crossing anniversary. My Mom truly believes that both Shadow and Buckshot will always be by your Mom's side and sometimes our angels like to let us know they around. Every once in a while, my Mom sees her big doggie Ludwig's silhouette at night, laying in his spot on her bed; or she hears dog tags jangling in the house. It used to startle her, but now she just sighs and smiles, glad to know they are waiting for her across the Rainbow Bridge.
Give your sweet Mom hugs for us and your whole family too. Mom's grandson George is keeping her and Dad on the run, but we'll try to meow back soon.
Sending purrs and hugs dear furiend.
Catties putting on Backyard Campout Day 6-25-16
A. Fang delivers a 56/11 as he traipses through "Strawberry Fields" on his way to the campout. Wish we had strawberry fields in OUR backyard! ... Moji(55/10) says "Good Day Sunshine" through a brand new living room window. I think she'll "Follow the Sun" ... J.C. & Mimi(74/11)Haley, getting winded on that long, winding road. know all they need to know about catfish already. Such as they are delicious with "Savory Truffles".
Haley(60/6) is taking a "Long & Winding Road" to the campout, from 60 to 90 in one day ... Persey(61/7) skips the fish but looking forward to sleeping in a "pup" tent! Woof woof! Hahhaaaa! He's helping to save the household some "Money" too, by chasing birds away from the feeder so they don't have to buy more bird seed. Makes cents! ... I'm not sure what the Chipmunks are doing here with Dot(72/9) today, seeing how it's Global Beatles Day, but for those of you who don't care for grilled catfish, how about charred chipmunk?
Okay, heads up for the winners:
1st - Haley, 6. Getting winded on that long & winding road.
2nd - Persey, 7. Just kidding about the 'pup' tent. *snicker*
3rd - Dot, 9. Thanks for the Chipmunks!
We have a tie for loser, with A. Fang & J.C. shooting an awful 11. Looks like Moji gets to sit by her sunny window all be herself and hum "With A Little Help From My Friends".
Hi Dame Dot and family!
Long time no meow! We sure do miss our CC furiends, but we keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. My sisters and I are doing fine, getting used to having the little furless around each day. Little George has gotten really good at helping our Mom feed us and because of that he is earning our trust. George even got to pet Callie one day, but it didn’t last too long. George got real excited and let out a happy scream! MOL! Needless to say, Callie took off like a shot! But all four of us cats have been coming down to sit on the staircase and watch the fun.
Our pawrents are having a great time with their grandson, always trying to take him somewhere new each day. George likes to end each day with an hour at the playground. It’s close by our house and Mom is always amazed at the amount of energy the little guy still has at the end of the day. It reminds me of my kitten days! Hee, hee!
Our Mom and George will be taking a short trip to San Diego this Wednesday, staying for a few days at GM”S house. Our Mom’s sister Doris, who lives with GM, is having some health problems, so Mom needs to find out what is going on and to make sure GM is okay. George will get to meet his great-grandma and all of Mom’s family. Should be a great experience for George!
Our Dad will be staying here in San Jose to take care of us, with my help of course. The weather just started to turn hot, like the rest of the country, so we’ll all be staying inside with our Dad and the A/C blasting. Our outside furiend Scamper is doing great. He’s been staying close to home during the day and Scamper is now used to being locked up in the garage and backyard at night. Mom has the garage set up nicely with oscillating fans and air circulators to keep the garage comfortable and safe for Scamper.
We hope you are all doing okay, staying as cool as you can during the recent heat wave. We’ll meow at you when Mom and George get back from their trip.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Something's fishy at Catty Shack today! 6-18-16
A. Fang(58/13) just wants to visit the sushi bar for his fish. Do you know the ingredient that makes sushi "sushi" is the sweetened rice? Not quite as exciting now, huh? ... Oh dear. Poor Moji(53/8) suspects the fish in her sushi came from cleaning an aquarium. I think I prefer the sweet rice ... It's so humid at April's(55/10) place the fish can swim without water! Good thing I have a snorkel! Ugh!!
I guess J.C.(66/12) didn't hear Mimi when she said all the sushi he brought was to share. Hope he doesn't get sick eating it all by himself! ... Dot(59/14) isn't gonna let a little hoarding keep her from enjoying some sushi. She's off and running to catch J.C.! Bring us some too! ... And Persey(61/7) also seems to like knowing the source of his sushi fish. He gets his from the aquarium cleaners too!
Small group today for catty putting. Everybody else must have gone fishing! Or had a picnic.
1st - Persey, 7. He almost stayed home to clean the garage!
2nd - Moji, 8. Good idea, Moj. Best not to ask too many questions...
3rd - April, 10. Don't you just love what the humidity does to your fur?
High scores to the cart barn, Dot 14, and A. Fang 13. Make sure you don't mess up and put some of that funky aquarium water in the still! Ptooey!
Hi Dame Dot and family!
We’re pawing by to say meow and let our furiends know we miss visiting every day. A day doesn’t go by that we don’t think of our CC furiends and their families and we’re keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Our weather has been very nice the past few days. It’s only been in the 70’s; very nice to catnap in our window beds. Our pawrents took George to a petting zoo yesterday and he made friends with a small goat named Emmett. People could buy food for the goats and sheep and feed them from their hands. This goat in particular kept following little George around, head butting him for food and snuggles. At first George was frightened of the goat, but they soon became fast friends. Our Mom had a great time too- Dad not so much.:) His allergies really kicked in around the farm animals. Hee, hee! Dad better stick to cuddling with cats!
My sister Callie and I have started coming downstairs more and more, much to George’s delight. We still run when he tries to pet us, but it is becoming a hide-n-seek game! Whitey and Orangie are still wary of the little guy. Mom lets George help her feed us at feeding time. He fills our dry food bowls and water dishes. Yesterday Mom had George plant us some cat grass seeds in several planters. It only takes about 10 days to sprout, so George will like watching it grow. We will too!
Our outside furiend Scamper has been doing very well, enjoying the mild weather, staying mainly inside his cathouse in the front yard. At night Scamper knows (most of the time!) to come inside the garage so Mom can shut him safely inside. Mom opens the small door that leads to the backyard so he has plenty of room to roam.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Dame Dot and family!
Just a quick meow to let our dear furiends know we are doing fine. Little George went to church with our pawrents this morning. Afterwards they went out for breakfast; came home to check on us kitties, then back out to the nearby playground where George loves the slides, swings and jungle gyms. The playground is close by our house. We always walk pass it our cat stroller walks, but of course we had never stop to play there. MOL! Our outside furry furiend Scamper is doing okay. He didn’t come home last night so Mom was worried. Then at 2 a.m. Mom and us cats were woken up by a loud cat fight outside. Mom and all of four of us jumped up out of bed. We ran to the window and Mom ran outside in her pajamas! Hee, hee! (It was very early so no one was around!) Scamper and another cat were face to face in a Mexican standoff in the middle of the street. Mom shooed the cat away and Scamper followed her home where he ran into the garage. Whew! Our Dad and little George slept through it all!
My sisters and I are still getting used to the little guy. Callie and I like to watch him from the stairs. Whitey and Orangie only come out of the bedroom at night. We don’t get as much Mom-time as we’re used to, but we’re satisfied getting Mom at bedtime.
Sadly our Mom hasn’t had much time left over for our blogging. When she isn’t playing with George or us, she is trying to cook and keep the house sort-of clean. Mom’s old Kirby vacuum cleaner finally died, which made us cats’ cheer:)- But of course Mom had to get a mew one right away.( Too much cat fur floating around with the warm weather. ) The good mews is she bought a Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner and loves it, plus it is much quieter than her old Kirby vacuum. Us cats still don’t like it, but we just might be able to get used to it!
George has been giving us treats twice a day when we’re hiding under the bed. Him and Mom sit on the floor with George putting treats in a small bowl and shoving it slowly under the bed. Callie, Orangie and myself have started to accept the treats, but Whitey is the only one who refuses to move and she growls. Not a good sign, but Mom never lets George get too close. Baby steps, right?!
We hope your Dad is feeling better and hopefully the medication is helping his Lyme disease go away. Very scary! We have your dear pawrents and all of your precious furmily in our thoughts and prayers dear furiend.
We miss our CC furiends and will meow again soon. ♥
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Making Lives Beautiful at Catty Shack 6-11-16
The catties have completed their warm-up stretches and file out to the putting greens to see who has the best aim. A. Fang(52/7) reminds us again not to drink Rosé and drive, but remember, Luvbug said it's okay to drink & putt ... Moji(52/7) remembers to tee up a Barbie head for Doll Day, then sits down for some corn on the cob, German chocolate cake, and a big glass of rosé. Careful, you don't want to look like Mikey! (Or Mr. Sniff) *snicker* ... The Angels(48/12) are enjoying the beautiful life with clear skies.
J.C.(70/7) shares his disappointment over learning the "bombs" are really just pants for door knobs, and heads off to drown his sorrow in something called "gin rosé". He wants to find out how high can butterflies fly ... Persey(50/5) seems to think this is "Take Your Catty To Lunch" day. Ah heck, why not. Let's ALL go to lunch! We can start with the butterfly appetizers ... Dot(75/12) is demonstrating temperance by enjoying some corn on the cob & a big chunk of German chocolate cake, but passes on the rosé.
Second place is crowded with 7s today, as A. Fang, Moji, and J.C. all try to fit on the podium. Persey is all alone in first place with his 5, and third place is shared by the Angels & Dot. So, once again, there is no one unaccounted for. Nobody to pick up all the Barbie heads, but I'm sure there will be a volunteer to tend the still. Maybe Ol' Toothy will enjoy going bobbing for Barbie heads?
Hi Dame Dot and family!
We apologize for not meowing in a while, but our CC furiends are always in our thoughts and prayers. Our pawrents’ grandson George and his Daddy arrived here safely from N. Carolina last Sunday. George’s Dad stayed a few days to get George settled in with all of us. Since little George will be staying with us until August, yesterday it was time for his Daddy to fly back home to N. Carolina. Little George was not happy at all to see his Daddy leaving him with our Mom and Dad.:( Our Mom told us cats that she is going to need our help more than ever to make George happy again. We’re going to try!
My sister Callie is the only one of us who has been brave enough to venture out of Mom’s bedroom. Callie has been sitting out on the staircase to see what’s going on. Now that George’s Dad is gone, the house has gotten a lot quieter, so Mom is hoping all four of us cats will be more hospitable to George and hopefully get to know him.
Our pawrents are going to try to keep their grandson very busy the next few days so he doesn’t have time to think about missing his pawrents. Mom’s stepson did set up their computer with Skype before he left, so George will be able to talk with his parents long distance AND see them on the monitor.
Scamper, our outside furiend is doing okay. He had Mom worried when she didn’t see him for a day, but he came back, mainly staying in his outside cathouse. Scamper has not met little George face to face yet, but Scamper knows something‘s up.
We miss our CC furiends and hope to meow at you again soon. ♥
Hi Dame Dot and family!
Yesterday was 92 degrees with an overcast sky, making it kind of muggy. The day before we peaked at 100 degrees and it was a dry, intense heat. It’s amazing how only 8 degrees cooler can make such a big difference. Mom was really worried about our outside furiend Scamper when it hit 100 degrees, but he did all right. He is a smart kitty. He stayed mainly in the backyard, hidden in one of the bushes. Mom watered the backyard in the morning and the climbing vine bush where Scamper hides. It also gets shade from a tree. Mom has to get on her hands and knees to see Scamper when he’s sleeping there.
Our Mom successfully gave Whitey her antibiotics last night and this morning, but Whitey seems to be getting wise to Mom. Right now she is sleeping under Mom’s bed, all the way in the center of the bed. Hee, hee! Guess my Mom is going to have to seal off underneath the bed for a few days. Yikes! That’s our favorite hiding place and we need that when their grandson George gets here. I guess my sisters and I better start calling dibs on the cat trees we want! MOL!
Be sure to give your precious family soft hugs for us. We have your Mom and Dad in our prayers and hope they both are feeling better. We also have dear Cinnamon in our prayers. We hope you are all having a relaxing SUnday sweet furiend.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Get out of my chair!
Such demands from
an impolite cat.
She often forgets please,
may I and Thank You,
She'll lay on your feet
snuggle in your lap
keep you company
on long, dark nights.
A friend indeed
Hug Your Cat Day 6-4-16
That's good advice, because you never know which hug may be your last. *sniff sniff sniffle* Thank you all for your gentle words for Grunt. She deserves them. She was truly unique.
A. Fang(58/13) reminds us not to drink and drive. Is it okay to drink and putt? ... Moji(60/6) remembers it's Barbie head day for catties, and heads off to enjoy some apples & cheesecake. Or something like that ... Haley(64/10) is muggied! That's her story & she's sticky to it! *heh heh*
Persey(53/8) is celebrating Old Maid's day with GTt. Does this mean she's getting her game ready for tomorrow? ... J.C.(71/8) gets a hug from his mom before he & Mimi head out to enjoy the mud. Mudcat and all, you know ... And Dot(65/11) is looking forward to her homecoming hug as she grabs some cheese from the buffet for Tuck *aww* and heads to her casa.
Wow, we got one Old Maid in the group today, and it's Dot! All others accounted for in the recap round-up:
1st - Moji, 6. Thanks for remembering Grunt. She'll be hard to forget.
2nd - Tie, Persey & J.C., 8. Mud & cognac, nice combo. *coff*
3rd - Haley, 10. Don't get stuck in the mug!
And out to the cart barn goes Fang, maybe you can still us up some more of that cognac Persey is hoarding.
the OL borrowed the two dogs' (sort of large i and in the way) Furolator. It is quick brush and I love love love it. Tons of fur has been dragged off already.
Do you have one... Persey has not a scrap of extra fur but I have loads.
The dog care (boring) ends Wednesday... or Tuesday night.
Hi Dame Dot and family!
Our fursis Whitey had her teeth cleaning yesterday and she is doing fine. But yesterday when she got home, the anesthesia made her a little crazy. She kept trying to walk around when she needed to rest. Mom was afraid she would hurt herself, so Mom set up the portable cat pen in the living room, complete with cat bed and small litter box. Whitey finally settled down, but Mom had to sit right with her where Whitey could see Mom. Every time Mom got up to leave, Whitey cried the most sorrowful meow we’ve ever heard. It even scared me! I sat on the stairs helping Mom keep a watchful eye over Whitey. Now Whitey must begin her 10 days of liquid antibiotics. Whitey does not like our Dad getting close to her, so Mom tried administering Whitey’s meds by herself, and thankfully she was successful! Whew! Let’s hope Whitey(and Mom!) can make it through the ten days!
The temps are supposed to hit 100 degrees today! Our outside furry furiend Scamper is doing okay. Mom keeps the fans and air coolers on in the garage, with access to our backyard for him, plus lots of ice refills in his water bowls.
This Sunday Mom and Dad’s grandson George will be arriving with his Dad from North Carolina. We might not be able to meow to our furiends as much as we like, but we will paw our special occasions votes and support for our King and new COTM nominee. We’ll keep our furiends posted cuz we know our Mom is going to need CC for her “quiet time.” MOL!
We hope your dad is feeling better dear furiend. We have him and sweet Cinnamon in our prayers as well as your entire precious family.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
MY CAT =^.^=
~~~~~
Basking in the glow of the golden globe that sits above the world,
he enjoys each minute of this day, and allows himself to purr.
He lays stretched out without a single solitary care,
and only relies on what he knows, which is that his food and owner
(his most prized possessions) will surely be there.

For him, his gray fur and his emerald green eyes only make up a cat,
and his life is so much simpler then mine.
For all he has to do is lay and stare at the sky,
and all he ever has to think about is me, myself, and I.

Hi Dame Dot and family!
We’re having another hot day in the 90’s, so we’ll be catnapping inside once the A/C goes on. Tomorrow my sister Whitey goes to vet for her first teeth cleaning, so that means we’ll all be without food after 8 p.m., even Mom. MOL! Mom says we all have to suffer together. We normally don’t eat after 6 p.m. anyway, but when our food bowls get taken away, suddenly we’re all famished! Hee, hee!

We had a great time at King Angel Elmer’s Coronation yesterday. He’s going to be a fun CC ruler! Since we’ll be spending a lot of time on beautiful Pinto Island, we’ll all be able to work on our tans. Better stock up on sunscreen!

Okay, gotta run! We just heard Mom letting out the vacuum monster! Yikes! Every cat for himself!

Oh no! Your poor Mom! We hope she is feeling better after taking that nasty fall! Piper is one strong doggie, especially when spotting a bird! Guess your Mom hangs on to the leash , no matter what! My Mom was the same way with her doggies and they dragged her through a few dirt trails. MOL! We have your sweet Mom is our prayers dear furiend.

We're so sorry to hear sweet Cinnamon is in such pain. We hope if it is indeed an abscess, the soaking will help her foot to heal. Poor baby.:( We'll keep Cinnamon in our prayers too.

FRAIDY CAT =^.^=
~~~~~
You're such a little fraidy cat,
Jumping at every little noise like that.
You disappear from my side at a child's cry outside,
Every little sound makes you want to run and hide.
I wonder what kind of life you had,
Before I saw you makes me sad.
You find a dark corner and there you stay,
Hoping the bad sounds will all go away.
Let me hold you, dear little one, and stroke your fur,
And hear your happy little purr.
Allow me to give you a lot of love and affection,
I promise, sweet cat, there will be no more rejection
Trust me, Sweete Pie, it will be okay,
I will make those bad sounds go away.
In my arms you will always be safe,
And no longer be a scared little waif.
Hi Dot & Kitties
I just shoved Persey off the laptop ( he loves getting shoved or any attention -- This is GTt, his Queen!
Who is that lovely calico long fur cat in your gallery?
Can your OL take her horse to a ferrier? A horse person would have seen all kinds of horse feet issues. And can your OL get to see an Orthopedic doctor? The mri
may not be necessary if you have a good orthopod take care of her. This is not a G.P. issue and we hate to see her suffering like this. Also, if the specialists thinks he/she needs an mri he can apply pressure to the insurance co.
That is that our OL say because she has a fine orthopedic Dr. who has save her spine and helped her walk and live a better life.
A little update:
Our schedule is disturbed for the next 10 days!! You know how us kitties hate any changes... well early each morning and again in the evening the OL goes over to her neighbor's/friends house to visit their two big d-o-g-s!! She feeds them, gives them treats, lets them out in their yard and then goes away and back to us SmELLING like d-o-g-s. Sniff, sniff... ick.
These people are her only furiends in the village. They watch out for each other, etc. But, when darling Persey tried to wake the OL up at 6-- his usual time, she was having a mice human dream and slept until 8. Oh, dear... rushed on her scooter and off to the neighbor's because the dogs can only wait just so long before their bladders explode. ( you probably know about this) Or so the d-o-g-s claim. if they were at all civilized they would use litter pans like we do.
What's wrong with your Dad that he cannot walk that dog? So sorry your mom was knocked down. We think she may need a few days off resting. When is the darn inventory over, huh?
Well, that's all the mews so far. I am really enjoying FINALLY getting to sleep outside under the bushes in the heat of the day. That long winter and spring (9 months) just about annoyed me to death. And we will have NO apples this year due to frosts.
And just to show you how summer has returned, I am shedding like crazy because I have a double coat AND the OL found a slug in my fur last night! They crawl on me while I am under the bushes. We have thousands of slugs here. I heard the OL say that our house was built on a bog!!
Well, dear Dot and fur family and OL. Have a mice easy going day. Give extra purrs to your mom.
Hi Dame Dot and family!
We hope you are all having a great Memorial Day weekend with your loving families. The weather is heating up here- should be in the 90’s today. Mom and Dad took Callie and me for our stroller walk early this morning while it was still cool. The creek still has water and the ducks were happy to be fed.
Our pawrents had fun yesterday at a friend’s house for a Memorial Day BBQ. They came home with take home boxes and yes, Mom didn’t forget us. Mom had a plate filled with grilled salmon. She asked her friend to hold the marinade so her cats could enjoy it. MOL! And he did! Mom came home smelling of dogs, so we all had to sniff her out. Her friend has two Corgi’s and they loved Mom!
Before Mom and Dad left us alone yesterday, Mom was able to keep Scamper locked up in the backyard and garage. Mom was worried how Scamper would handle being locked up during the late afternoon until they got home, but he did great! Mom found him sound asleep in one of our cat beds, on the deck, under the patio table umbrella. Scamper is getting more comfortable around our backyard each day!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
All-Day Bug Burger Buffet! 5-28-16
Sounds scrumptious! Angel Fang(52/7) gets the ball rolling by giving his bugs amnesty. That's fine, as long as you keep your bugs to yourself! *scratch scratch* Oh No! ... Moji(50/5) wants so much ketchup on her bug burger you won't be able to tell what kind of bugs those are. Looks like a bloody bug massacre, so I guess there was no amnesty THERE! Maybe just a bottle of ketchup & a straw for you, huh?
April(68/14) is staying away from all the bugs by sitting inside near the A/C. Warm in the east, cool in the west I see ... J.C(68/14) is also showing off his warm today while Mim & Mom seem to have gone to pott ... Dot's(70/7) mom's insurance has gone to pott! That can't be good. Want me to send BG over to bite someone at the insurance company? She'd be happy to do it! "Zero Amnesty!" That's her motto!
Persey(77/14), bless his little heart has remembered to bring his dusty Barbie head collection for putting day. For that you at least get honorable mention (since that's a really crappy putt) ... And finally Grunt(50/5) is ready for an all-day bug burger buffet since mom nearly starved us all to death by sleeping in & feeding us nearly an hour late today! It's a wonder we survived!
Putt-putt-puttering along:
1st - Tie, Moji & Grunt, 5. Maybe you two can keep each other warm!
2nd - Another tie, Fang & Dot, 7. Only the bugs get amnesty. We attack the insurance company at dawn.
3rd - Everybody else, 14. April, J.C. and Persey. Nobody's left for the cart barn!
That's okay. Memorial day weekend, we can ALL head down to the barn and crank up the still full-blast! I'll stay here and flip the bug burgers. Don't want burnt bugs. :-)
Hi Dame Dot and family!
We barely had time yesterday to paw our votes for the special occasions and to our Queen and current ACOTM candidate. Our refrigerator broke down, so Mom was scrambling to get someone to come out to fix it before all the food had time to go bad. Whew! The repairman was able to come out in the afternoon, got it running again, but warning Mom the fridge is old and will need to be replaced with a new one soon. Mom is hoping not a few more months, at least not until after their grandson’s visit.
The weather is starting to warm up and this weekend we are expecting to be in the high 80’s again. The cool weather was nice while it lasted, but summer has to start eventually.
This is our Dad’s last week of school before his summer vacation begins. He is happy about that. :)
Our outside furry furiend Scamper has been doing fine. He likes to sleep on top of his cathouse during the day and he has been very good at coming into the garage at night to sleep. He hides behind the washer and dryer and waits while Mom shuts the garage door. This is real progress. Before, the noisy garage door opening or closing always made him take off in a sprint. Baby steps, right?!
Wow! Your Mom is amazing! She saved the life of that beautiful baby fawn! That took a lot of courage. Not too many humans would find in their hearts to stop and help a scared animal. Your Mom is extra special!
We'll be keeping dear Cinnamon in our prayers. We hope the vet can relieve her pain. We love you and your precious family!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
WHO IS SHE? =^.^=
~~~~~
Her eyes are like diamonds that are shiny and bright
Her hair is so soft and black as the night
Her legs are long and her body is slender
When you hold her close she is warm and tender

Hiding amongst the shadows so tall
Looking much closer she's not there at all
Always in trouble with her curious way
She stays out all night and sleeps in all day

Creeps into your room and sits up on your bed
Gives gentle kisses on your nose and your head
Always expects you to open the door
There isn't a sound as she walks on the floor

She will not come over when you call
Walks straight past as if you're not there at all
If you want to work she wants to play
Doesn't care if you forget her birthday

Is she your wife or is she your lover
Is she a friend or is she your mother
She is none of those things I can tell you that
This beautiful creature is only the cat

Love your profile. I still and holding that flower--which has long died but a big red one is blooming (hint, hint mom).
I was thinking about you this a.m. and wondering how you are taking care of your Old Lady? It bothers us here that no doctor or nurse prac. is available to give her a well-placed shot of cortisone and get the pain to go. Can she call an orthopedic dr. and see someone else?
We are against suffering!!

Hi Dame Dot and family!
We got my test results back from the vet today. I still have red blood cells showing up in my urine (6-10 where it should read negative), but I had two improvements...my Blood/Hemoglobin went from 2+, to 1+, which is okay. Also my SDMA reading went from 14 to 6, which is very good. The SDMA is an indicator of kidney function. Hooray! So now I just need to keep my weight up. The vet wants my Mom to supplement my diet by syringe feeding me my prescription wet food. Mom already does this occasionally when I don’t seem to have much of an appetite, but now it will be a part of my regular feeding. That’s okay with me. I don’t mind Mom feeding me that way and she’ll spread it out throughout the day.

My Mom told the vet about her grandson coming to stay with us for a couple of months. Dr. Natt said to keep a close eye on me because stress could trigger a relapse in my numbers. Apparently some UTI’s are caused by stress. We always have our Mom and Dad’s bedroom as the main safe room and we have plenty of cat trees if we need to make a fast getaway. MOL! This morning Mom added a “bed skirt” to her bed so when we do hide under the bed, we’ll feel safer. Our garage is off limits for us anyway, so our outside furry furiend Scamper will be fine too. Mom just better stay on her toes! MOL!

Their grandson George is a rambunctious little guy, but Mom thinks it will be okay after he gets used to seeing us and learning once again how to use his “quiet” voice around us. We wish our Dad could learn how to do that. Hee, hee! Mom has been trying to think like a cat (as Jackson Galaxy always says) and making sure there are “escape routes” for us in every part of the house.

That is terrific Memorial Day profile picture! With your purrty face and the American flag...what a great postage stamp that would make!

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Once in a lifetime, a special pet,
Comes your way, and your heart is set.
A strong connection you feel is deep,
You know instantly, this one you'll keep.

Something mysterious from the start,
This wonderful pet, has stolen your heart.
Over time together you grow,
No need for words, a look and you know.

When you feel sad or even pain,
You're not alone, your pet feels the same.
This bond and love, both of you share,
Nothing short, of a magical prayer.

Thanks Dot & family
Thank you for pawing by with such sweet Happy Birthday wishes & goodies. I enjoyed an extra-fun day, especially celebrating with my CC furiends. We celebrated with Princess/Tiara cuppycakes (Mommy’s furiend Rose who owns www.rosebakes.com made those). I received lots of nice gifts, but my fav is my mew Cosmic Catnip banana. You can see pics on the bottom of my page. So far, Casper Todd has not drooled & slobbered on my mew toys!!

It is hard to believe that I am 15 years old (76 in human years). Where did the time go?! Thanks again for sharing my special day with me. Your furiendship is a gift worth celebrating every day.

Love ya ♥

Memo Day! 5-21-16
And it looks like you all got the memo about those Barbie heads collecting dust in the shed. Good. It's nice to shake out the dust and cobwebs every now and then. :-)

A. Fang(44/8) shakes the dust off some patches, apparently getting ready to patch a few dusty old aprons. Or maybe life jackets. I'm not sure ... Moji(52/7) is SO excited about whacking her very own Barbie head! She's heard ALL about them from Mallow. Good thing you got the memo ... April(50/5) is bashing her Barbie in the moonlight. Early riser, that April!

Oh, listen to Mr. Bigshot Persey(44/8)! He's an official "cat" now, not a kitten, and he's nosing around the Cat Daniels and other potables! What memo did YOU get? ... Hm. Seems Dot(51/6) could have brought some venison for lunch but her mom decided to set little Bambi free. I guess it could have been worse. She could have decided to bring him home!

J.C.(63/9) whacks a frozen Barbie head and it goes to pieces. We all seem to do that now and then, especially around here ... And finally, Grunt(52/7) can't decide if she wants to whack a dusty Barbie or dusty Barney head. But bless her little heart, she's ready to don snorkel & fin and take a dip in the punch bowl with yours truly!

Okay catties, you aren't the waitstaff today, but the main attraction!
1st - April, by the light of the moon, 5.
1nd - Dot, with no Bambi, just Barbie, 6.
3rd - Tie, Moji & Grunt, eagerly awaiting the Preakness, 7.

The still tender & whiskey brewmaster for today is J.C. And well it should be, since the mom of the house needs some rest, and a few shots from the CS still will put you in a very restful mood! :-)

~~~Pig~~~
Don't forget your free treats!
(Some Bambi jerky would have been nice....)
Hi Dame Dot and family!
Today it only got to 63 degrees; a big difference from the 90 degree temps we had only a couple of days ago. Our outside furry furiend Scamper is catnapping comfortably in one of his beds in the garage. He doesn’t even run when Mom goes in the garage to check on him. As long as she doesn’t walk towards him, he’s fine. So cute!
We were very disheartened to hear our dear furiend Jakar has been diagnosed with lymphoma, but we pray there is still a glimmer of hope in his recovery. The important thing now is for him to get healthy enough to go back home where he is happiest and dearly loved. We have to remain hopeful and never forget the miracle kitties we have known in our CC community. Our thoughts and prayers continue for sweet Jakar and his very special family. We’re also keeping K. Rhoamin in our prayers and hope his pain medicine is keeping him comfortable. Our prayers continue for dear Patch Girl and the success of her cold laser therapy. We’re keeping K. Spongie’s Mom Lynn and Mimi’s Mom in our thoughts and prayers too. So much sadness.:(
We hope the poem about “Princess the Cat” makes you smile. It reminded my Mom of my diva sister Callie. MOL!
Have a wonderful weekend sweetie! Hugs to your precious family and let your Mom know we're keeping her in our prayers. Feel better!
Princess is the name of my pet,
She's even smarter than her vet.
Whenever she wags her fluffy tail,
I know nearby, there is a sale.
Princess has very cultured taste,
Her stunning wardrobe gets her chased.
But there's nothing, Princess can't handle,
Even an occasional, neighborhood scandal.
Princess accepts fine lavish gifts,
She's retired, doesn't do shifts.
Princess must now get her nails done,
A classy lady, she's my number one.
Hi Dame Dot and family!
It was a much cooler day today, in the low 70’s with a light breeze. We like this weather a lot better than the heat wave we just had. Guess summer was giving us a preview of things to come. Yikes!
We had problems with our internet connection today and after my Mom pulled her hair out, trying to diagnose the problem, she finally called AT&T and was told they are having “issues” and working to resolve them. What the heck does that mean?! Anyway, it seems to be working again for now. At least Mom was forced to do some clean up on her computer. MOL!
We are all doing fine, catnapping in the backyard. Scamper is resting nicely on top of his cathouse. We hope you kits are having a relaxing day too! It’s a good day to meditate and keep the prayers for going for dear Jakar; so glad his recovery is going good; K. Rhoamin, hoping his vet can find out what’s causing his pain; Patch Girl and the Knight family; Mimi’s sweet Mom; and always K. Spongie’s Mom Lynn.
Oh no! Piper scared you up a tree?! We're glad you didn't stay up there too long. Don't want to ruin your pawdicure. MOL!
We're keeping your sweet Mom in our prayers and hope she gets the okay on her MRI soon. Those darned insurance companies!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
A Pet =^.^=
~~~~~
A pet is a cuddly little thing,
Joy and laughter it will bring.
If your pet has way too much fur,
Expect it to bark or maybe just purr.

A pet could become a very close friend,
Treat it nice, lots of love it shall send.
It has the potential to cheer you up,
Right from the start, just like a pup.

Pets are wonderful, they're all unique,
They understand you, make sure you speak.
Don't forget to love them dearly,
They'll love you back, lots and sincerely.

Hi Dame Dot and family!
It’s a warm 85 degrees today and tomorrow will be 90, then we start to cool down. We might even get rain on Saturday! Crazy weather! After Mom took Callie and me for a stroller walk this morning, we all got locked up inside the main bedroom cuz Mom had the carpet shampooed today. We’re getting ready for our pawrent’s grandson George to come next month. The house smells wonderful. We can hardly wait to run havoc around the house. MOL!

Mom made an appointment at the vet for me next week to have my blood tested again. I’m feeling fine, eating my prescription food (sort of!) and we expect good blood test results. Whitey has an appointment for her teeth cleaning the first week of June. Mom tries twice a day to get Whitey used to a toothbrush, but it is slow going. Baby steps, right?!

Our outside furry furiend Scamper was catnapping in the garage the last time Mom checked. After the carpet cleaners left, Mom set up a couple of fans in the garage to keep it sort of cool. Scamper seemed to approve and chose to sleep on the cat bed that Mom had set up on top of the tool chest. That way Scamper is up high enough to survey his surroundings. He’s no dummy!

We’re keeping our dear furiend Jakar and his worried family in our prayers. We know he is getting the very best of care and it’s been wonderful to hear the outpouring of love for him from the CC community.

We are glad to hear K. Rhoamin is feeling a little better and even eating some. Hooray! We’re keeping him and his fursibs, sweet Callie and Patch Girl in our prayers too. Our thoughts and prayers always go out to K. Spongie’s Mom Lynn and Q. Mimi’s dear Mom.

Of course we have your sweet Mom in our prayers too. We hope she feels better and better with each passing day. Keep up the purr therapy sweetie!

Hi Dame Dot and family!
We hope you had a nice weekend with your loving family. Our Mom took Callie and me on a stroller walk this morning and believe it or not, the creek along the trail is still flowing. It might not be for long though, because we are expecting hot temps in the low 90’s this week. Guess summer is starting to rear its hot head! We fed the ducks in the creek, filled the water bucket and sprinkled bird seed along the trail while we walked.

Our outside furry furiend Scamper was asleep in his cat house when we left and he was asleep on top of the cat house when we returned. Scamper raised his head to look at us and went right back to catnapping. He is getting more and more comfortable with all of us each day!

Mom left us this morning to stock up on cat food. She buys mine and Callie’s food at the vet, and shops at Petco for Whitey, Orangie and Scamper’s food. Mom had 20 dollars worth of Petco coupons to use. That should make Dad happy!

We all know today is house cleaning day, so that scary vacuum monster will be let loose soon. Good day to catnap in the backyard.

We’re hoping to hear some good mews about our furiend Jakar today. We have him and his family in our prayers. We also mew prayers for K. Rhoamin, Callie, Patch Girl, Mimi’s Mom and K. SpongeBob’s dear Mom.

We are so happy to hear there is no nerve damage for your Mom. Hooray! We have our paws crossed that the silly medical insurance approves her MRI. Why do insurance companies always have to make life more difficult?! We're keeping your dear Mom in our prayers.

How wonderful the black kitty your family rescued has a loving mew home with your Mom's stepson! You really do live with a family of angels on earth! God bless all of you for giving the black kitty a mew chance at a happy life. You tell Tucker he should be thrilled with the beautiful harem of kitties he already has. MOL! That crazy guy!

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
