About Me

Active within 1990 Days

Hi! My name is Calvin

I am Domestic Shorthair from Fairport, NY

Nicknames: Buddy, Little One. But I am not little!

Age: 16 years old

Gender: M

Coat: short haired

Education: I did it!!! I was COTD for 9/2/07!! THANK YOU!

My favorite tricks and treats are: I come to mom when she calls me, and will play fetch for a little while. and Champion Chips for Dogs. Yup, dogs.

Where I hang out: My new cat perch in the window, or on my new fleece blanket Mom made for me.

My favorite grubs: I used to love my Dental Diet, but Mom says it's not good for me, and put me on Innova EVO. Now she says I might have to switch to canned food!

My pet peeves: Plastic Bags. I HATE them.

What I love about my owners: She loves me more than a lot of humans, and spoils me a ton. I get to use her as warm cat furniture.

My cat hobbies: Sleep. But I also love my Tinsel balls and Milk Jug rings.

Tonight's the night ...
... soon the Royal pilots will head for the North Pole and the beginning of a very, very long trip. Our many and multi-colored lights will virtually light up the night as we accompany a certain reindeer-pulled sleigh on its appointed rounds. Be sure the milk and cookies are waiting by the stockings-hung-with-care, and watch for us in the night sky over your home.

Mom and I have lovingly wrapped a special gift for each of you. It is a big box of "dreams come true" and "if I only had one wish" items. May you enjoy them now and throughout the coming year.

hello calvin
are you still on here? i haven't heard from you in awhile? hope things are okay! sorry i missed getting on earlier but mom was worried over a adult squirrel she and taz rescued last night on their walk, it fell from the tree and hit its head, she kept it over night and today finally got someone to take it and care for it, mom was pretty scared to pick it up for she knows they bit, and also being hurt he spased but she got it in a carrier. do hope its okay, its in the right hands now. she hates to see animals get hurt, she even takes dead ones out of the road so it won't become road pizza from stupid poeple who keep running over it! that is if its not all flat and nasty. any way that was her day in a nut shell, have a blessed night, headbonks, vote, mouse catnip marley/mom you still on here, haven't heard from you in awhile?

+Shine in Heaven, Angel Jim Chandler, Sunshine Dad
Jim Chandler lived a full life in his 70 years. Yes, he was a devoted Dad to his 4 fur babies, the Sunshine kitties. He was also a father and step father. Jim was a dedicated friend, he was a published writer and poet, he was an electrical engineer by education, he was a musician, he was a Reiki practioner(healing), he was a veteran, he was a biker with a giving heart, he was a Christian with a pastor's license to perform weddings and baptisms for close friends and family, he was a dedicated gardener and proud of his butterfly gardens. Jim mastered the art of walking gently in this world with a generous & open heart & we were blessed to have him in our cat channel community. We miss you Jim but we know you are Home in Heaven. Thanks for sharing part of your Journey on earth with us. We will keep on giving & think of you when we do. Love, Sara in Stockton & her gatos Fidel, Che, & Tonantzin.

A Poem by Elias Amidon:
"You waited until you were alone,
Death is a private thing.
You knew your last act was to a different audience.

As it entered you - oh, how you must have danced!
curving toward God, elegant and alone.

Dear one, what is it like? Tell us! What is death?

Birth, you say, your voice swathed in wings.
I am born in the endless beginning. I am not. I AM.

You start turning into us, we who love you.
You weep in our sadness, you laugh when we do,
you greet each moment fresh, when we do.

So may your Gift of Loving enter our own and be with us that way, forever."

Come visit me, Tonantzin the fluffy, FIDEL ~ Happy 2013! & CHE!.

Hey there!
Hi there Calvin! We're all fine at our house but Mom is still not working. Did y'all ever move to Rochester? I remember we took a really, really long trip and lived in Webster for about six months. I didn't like it there and wouldn't come out of the basement almost the whole time. Mom had to bring my food and water down there because I was starving. I was so glad when we took another long trip and came back to our house in Texas. I hope y'all are fine and your Mom is working. No kibbles if Mom doesn't work! At least that's what our mom tells us. Be well, my friend. Pepper

Today the temperature is a high of 77 with the humidity at 40% and the wind at 5 MPH.

Our doggy, Carly 11000 on DC vomitted twice yesterday & again this morning about 4:00 on the bed. Dad got up & cleaned it up. Mom stayed up. At 7:00 AM Carly did just a little. She may need to have her insulin dose upped. Almost 1-1/2 years on the same dose. Mom says Carly will probably need tests done but mom is trying to replenish the funds first.
Dad stopped at an old friend's place on his way home from mom's brothers' new place & he was told about old friends' of mom & dad's. This couples' daughter died recently from Leukemia at age 39 and then her younger brother (about 37) had just died. He was found dead in back of his van, both him & the van burned. Mom seen that on the local news & heard the last name but didn't realize she knew the guy. Dad went to his funeral this afternoon. Mom didn't go as she won't leave Jazpyr.

x*•:*'''*:•COTD WED8/5 VOTE #74947 Tigger!''*
>^..^<*~ Happy August to all our fun feline furiends! Please give your COTD VOTE of support WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, to our candidate Miss Tiggy, CC’s Tigger #74947! Tiggy, sick & hungry at just 6 week old, was dumped in a pillow case in her adopted family’s yard. Thankfully, this loving Ohio family opened their hearts and home to little Tigger and she blossomed. Tigger loves to walk and stand on curtain rods to look out the window and bird watch. She also enjoys the outdoors, playing in her Mom’s plants and catching mice. Miss Tiggy raised a litter of kittens that were all adopted into loving homes and she loves to play with her siblings. Both Tigger’s Mom & Dad have ongoing medical issues. Sharing their home & love with their fur babies brings them comfort and joy. Tigger & her siblings are happy to report their Dad is doing better, getting released recently from the hospital on his birthday. He is trying to walk a little with the aid of a walker and can be seen smiling and laughing again! Tigger’s Mom has completed dialysis and kidney is much better!

Miss Tiggy & her sibs Miss & Mr. Fluffy, Spookie, My Buddy, & Starlight thank all you awesome CC cats for supporting Tigger #74947 with a COTD vote on WED AUGUST 5th! We thank Wolfie the Wise for serving as our July King & offer congrats to our August King Fuzzy the Fair! Finally, we leave you with a special AUGUST COTM candidate poem in honor of ANDERSON #41067:

x*•:*'''*:•COTD WED7/22 VOTE #124579 Tyler!''*
>^..^<*~ Tyler, the trooper, #124579 is the WED. July 22 COTD candidate! A tiny Tyler was found in a vet’s parking lot in a sealed cardboard box. He was only about 2-3 weeks old. The vet called Tyler’s adopted Mom to see if she would foster this little guy as the odds are stacked against a kitten so young surviving without a feline mom and the human mom must provide everything a cat mom normally gives her kitten. She not only agreed to foster Tyler, she fell in love with him and couldn't let him go!

On Thursday, July 23, Tiny Tyler will celebrate his very 1st Birthday, a major milestone considering his rough start in life. We would love for the caring CC community of cats to join together on WED, July 22 and vote for Tyler #124579 so that we give him a very special COTD badge on his page Thursday morning as our Birthday present to him and his incredible Mom! Certainly, the fact that Tyler not only survived but thrived is cause to celebrate! Tyler’s pictures document his growth into a handsome long haired gray and white fella who loves his family, plays hide & seek, jumps high for his crinkle ball, and enjoys a good cat chase. According to CATOPIA by Anne Mortimer “Kittens are born blind & helpless. After a few days, they will crawl a short distance to find their mom and at about 10 days open their eyes. IF a kitten is to be an affectionate animal companion as an adult, it NEEDS a lot of SOCIAL CONTACT from this critical stage, being gently held, stroked, and talked to. At 3 weeks, kittens can stand, and begin to play, and by 7 weeks they are running, jumping, climbing ... and getting into all kinds of mischief!” Tyler certainly got what he needed and we are glad he did!

Tyler’s Mom and siblings Ling Ling, Delainey, Piper, Miled and Heidi Dot thank you for your support of Tyler’s #124579 WED July 22 COTD catpaign! And we leave you with a special July COTM candidate poem of thanks from Da Fuzz #53825:

Here I am! It's Fuzz, it's me!
Thanking you for votes you see!

There's no better friend than you! ~(Thanks to author Jojo Kitty #125369)

Hi Calvin
Another day of awe and wonderment at the kitty rancho. Not a kit in sight, dad opened a can of FF and was run over by Missy and Zippi. Taz sat on the outskirts with OG looking sad and forlorn.Dad cut grass, cleaned his rifles and pistols and started cleaning the bike. A young woman came to sell some detergent and dad wound up sitting in the driveway with her and two frosty beverages. NO, he didnt buy anything but got a phone number.mol. 90 and high humidity. We are looking for winter and 76 degree days. SOS at the ranch. We hope you all are doing well and we send our hugs and a vote. The sunshine gang.

HI Calvin
Long time no see. It is so hot, we think our dad is losing weight. Missy escaped last night into a heavy rain. Dad chased her around the yard and gave up. She was soaking wet sitting outside the door, but ran off when the door was opened. Finally dad cracked the door and opened a fancy feast can. He was knocked down by a wet black and white rocket. The rest of the crew has been busy tearing up the house. OG, upside down somewhere. Taz and Zippi playing tag and wall running. Dad has been drinking lots of fluids because of the heat. (any excuse for a frosty beverage.)Rain again for today. Dad has planted alot of flowers so he wants the rain. Purrs and hugs to all from the sunshine gang

Hi Calvin
How are you doing? I hope you are feeling well these days. Long time no meow. It is finally Summer (at least the calendar says so). It is still slightly chilly and extremely rainy, ever since last Friday. Meowmy is off from work for a few days until camp starts. Naturally, she had to ruin our fun time by scheduling our annual physicals and Distemper shots. Ouch! Both of us have lost weight since our last vet visit, however, the vet still thinks we could stand to lose some more. Mom thinks she will be looking into another vet for us, as this doctor was new and not very thorough. He claimed that Nemo's tummy was too roundy for him to be able to feel the organs and know if everything was fine in there. Mom thinks that he should have tried harder since the other vet was able to check him last year, when Neemi was two pounds heavier. We made it through the visit, however, without biting or yowling, so Mom considered it a good day. Nemo is still under the weather from his shot; sleeping a lot and appetite is off. I'm doing just fine which is exactly the opposite of last year. So, with no one to play with, I coaxed Mom to let me write a little "miss you" note to all of my dear furiends. What HAVE you been up to?

Friday will be my sissy's birthday and Meowmy is baking a cake and planning a Mexican dinner party with family and friends. Nemo and I are hoping the pawty can be outside, but Mom still plans for indoors due to possible continued rain.
I don't know if I mentioned how exciting it was to catch that mousie that somehow entered Mom's kitchen a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, there have been no more and I've been reduced to pouncing the occasional housefly or moth. Oh yeah, there WAS that cricket. I can't wait until the doors and windows can all be open again. I've heard that so many of my furiends have already had record heat temps, so I know it can't be long till we get ours. Our pool reclamation is on hold until Mom gets everything ready for the pawty, but we are hoping to get it cleared up by the middle of next week. I know our floatie is right there waiting for us to return to the sun scene! Also, there is a whole basket full of plants that have yet to be planted. (Mom needs to get on the stick!) Meanwhile, we watch the water stream down the windows and wait till our next outdoor adventure. 'Sure do hope it comes soon. Stop by and let us know what you've been up to these past few weeks. Purrs and a vote for you. Your furiend~~FIONA~~

Come visit me, Nemo & Fiona.

From Duckies Desk: Oh, the beautiful weather of late Spring! Many parts of the country are seeing temperatures in the upper 80s and low 90s with warmer days just over the horizon. Exciting things are going on Cat Channel including the Mouse Hockey League with the Scamper Cup Playoffs in full swing with the Kitty Avalanche tangling with the Rodent Rippers. Your Little Angels welcomed SASSY #26345 yesterday..She wants her family to know she misses them, but is no longer in pain..we have also been staying busy praying for family and friends back home. HEIDI CLAIRE # 100944, her Grandpawpy went home to be with the Lord on May 3. Her Grandmawmie is still in rehab for her leg and feet and Mawmie is still trying to deal with everything. Mom cat Cheryl is fighting her own battle with cancer as she helps her aging parents ! GIN GIN, #12433, is having potty problems which seemed to be worse last evening. CASPER TODD, # 6451 does not has a UTI. What it means is that he has interstitial (idiopathic) cystitis which is a condition that comes and goes recurrently (lifelong). There is no cure, but it is manageable (hopefully). Stress is a huge factor. It means a bladder inflammation of unknown cause. He is taking a nutrient-supplement called Resources Feline Urinary Tract Support – 1½ pills twice a day for now. Dr. William has many patients who have this and he said any little thing that stresses us out like going to the vet, moving, or sickness can make this flare up. Just something else that we will have to battle forever. He needs to eat as much canned food as possible! MISS FLUFFY'S parent‘s, # 74942, her dialysis is fixed so it doesn’t make her Mom sick , DAD is still in a lot of pain. His foot is black from all the blood clots. He is not getting a pulse in his foot. They want to do a test on him on 6/4/09 to find out if he has blockage where they took a clot out before, and if he does they are putting him back in hospital . If not they will remove the foot and maybe his leg, so we are praying they can fix it. MR JINKS MOM #43961, goes back to the doctor on Thursday for another test and they will go from there. She'll be heading for surgery. if her medications do not work. BLAZE'S MOM # 10057, goes to see 2 doctors on Thursday, (one for my pain management and the pulmonary doctor) so hopefully they can help her....This week's Angel Cat of the is Angel Ashes, #101450.Please stop by her page tomorrow Friday 6/5, and leave her a vote so she can shine brightly in Saturday's evening sky for her family to see!..

Rainbow Bridge Scoop. 5/29/09.
From Duckies Desk: Ah……….. Springtime at the Beautiful Rainbow Bridge! The weather is perfect and the trees and flowers are in full bloom! While the weather is perfect here we are constantly in prayer for friends and family who are having an over abundance of rain and storms back home! We are also maintaining an around the clock prayer chain for friends and family that are having health problems. Among those this week include our Publishers, Mousey and Blackie’s #42912, Dad, Scott. Dad Scott has had problems with his blood sugar although he has shown improvement over the past two days. Other prayer requests include TUXIE # 41929 who had some teeth pulled on 5/27/09. SASSY, # 23645 is still congested and had a biopsy of a mass in her mouth. The doctor said it doesn't look good. Have to wait 4 or 5 days to find out what it is. BLAZE #10057, MOM TAMMY ( the firefighter kitty Mom) went to ER on Friday in much pain! NAPPY, #68109 , no more vomiting and is using his litter box! CASEY #60584, his GRAMMA is undergoing an out-patient bladder tuck CASPER TODD # 6451, is still at Dr. William’s (30 miles away). Casper still has the UTI and he wants to get another specimen to send off to the lab to grow cultures He now has big, open bleeding sores around his neck and back from all the scratching. He found a mite in Casper's poop specimen. He said stress has caused this. It is VERY RARE in cats. They have given Casper a liquid medication, Amitraz. CHAMPARONEE, #121020, MOM is having knee arthroscopic surgery on 5/27/09. Continue to pray for Miss Fluffy’s Parent‘s, # 74942, and Mr. Jinks’ MOM #, 43961, Friday they went in with a huge needle to aspirate the cyst on her kidney. She is still very sore! She goes back to see her doctor Thursday and hopefully she will hear some good news. If not, the doctor said they may have to schedule surgery. GIN GIN, # 12433, Mom will have to live with the spider in eye. At least the retina did not detach. BEAR #17119, his Mom’s Parents were in a bad accident and his Mother did not make it. His father is in ICU right now and is expected to make a full recovery but does have a head trauma.

Hi Calvin
Wishing you a very happy Memorial Day Weekend. The sun finally peeked out, here on Cape Cod, for the first time all weekend. The weather has been acceptable but not inspiring! There may be some hope left yet for a day that has cookout written all over it! It's been nice visiting with extended family even if the weather has not been the most cooperative. With so many guests, coming and going, we have had lots of playtime with the cat wand and the laser mousie. Sometimes we found it necessary to retreat from some of the louder, smaller guests, but mostly it has been a fun experience. It certainly has been a tasty holiday. Everybody seems to think it a fun idea to let "the kitties" taste test a little bit of everything. I particularly enjoyed the Trifle (or should I say the whipped cream?) Shrimp, from the pasta salad, wasn't to shabby either. Well, it's time to post this message since Mom has ideas of cutting the grass before lunch time. Purrs, and wishes for an excellent holiday to you. Nemo and Fiona

Come visit me, Nemo & Fiona.

Although many families are separated over the years we always remain together in our Mother’s heart. Mom, we all love each of you! Your little Angels have been busy this past week praying for family and friends.. We welcomed ANGEL CASHA #91523 with open paws this morning, as he came strolling across the Bridge to us. It had come down form over a 10 to 3 which was perfect for her at her age right now. He said that she would have good days and bad days. He gave her a vitamin mineral supplement, and she stays on the same dose of thyroid medication for a month, so if she does good, she will not have to go back for a whole month. We wish all the Moms of kitties a very happy Mother's Day tomorrow! We know there's lots of Dads out there who are the caretakers for their furry babies, and we appreciate you too!

May is Foster Month for animals and we are so excited to see two foster Moms being recognized this special weekend! Today, Maggie Mae #34214 of the Maine Gang is running for her COTD badge. We are so happy to be able to vote for Maggie Mae to honor her and her Mom as representatives of all who foster. Tomorrow, another kitty who represents a Mom with foster kittens will be running for a COTD badge! We offer special thanks to all who donate their time, money, and most of all, their homes and love, to all those kitties who are in need of a loving furrever home! May God bless you for your good works!

Angel Smokey #125145 tells her story of a loving life..she was born in a barn and was her Mom's best barn buddy. When Mom would go to saddle her horse Bronx, she would always set her in the saddle to ride. She never did get a picture. But it always made her laugh and smile and I would get a hug and a cheek rub. You see, my mom is somewhat hearing impaired and I would always go to the barn with her and when something wasn't right I wouldn't let her go in at that time and she trusted me. She would go back later and would look at me and tell me to see if it was ok and I would let her in to get the hay for Bronx or what ever it was that she wanted. Mom would walk to the neighbor's house and I was her shadow and she would always look out for me and I her. I loved listening to her talk and would answer back with all the love that I had in my heart. My mom misses me when she goes to the barn and walks over to the neighbor's house. She says that those walks are lonely now. I miss my mom so much because she needed me. She also would call me her little guardian angel. That is my job and I still watch over her she just can't see me...Please stop Friday 5/8, and help Angel Smokey be the shiniest star for her Mom to see in the Saturday evening sky, by making her this week's Angel Cat of the Day...THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE RB ANGELS! Also, Sylvester appreciates your vote every day in May to help him be our King of June! Leaving you a tuna cupcake frosted with whipped cream and garnished with orange shrimp sprinkles and chopped fresh catnip! Simba and all the BHG for the Catpaign & Mews Room

Hi Calvin.
This is Giselle. What a pleasant surprise to hear from you again. I wish you'd come back to CC more often.
Great news here. Juliana made Grand Champion at the age of 10 months. In 2 months of her in Championship competition, she made best of breed for the show year and best of color for the region. Then Galatea got a really surprise award. She made Regional Winner, one of 25 best cats in the Premiership class. There were a couple hundred cats in that class. We are all so proud of them.
Hope to hear from you again soon.

Come visit me, Snowflake, Sabrina, Juliana, Giselle, Galatea & Delilah.

"We Are Siamese if you please" This regal Siamese female with eyes like sapphires has a soft pretty name, CHANTILLY LACE 67319. She's part of a Siamese cattery where this wonderful breed is developed for Siamese lovers to enjoy! In fact, we want to wish an early Happy Mother's Day to Chantilly Lace, who's expecting her very first litter at the end of May. Her human family tends to the needs of the Siamese family by providing food, shelter, and lots of love. In fact we commend her family for their patience, understanding and sense of humor through all the kittens that arrive. The fact is CHANTILLY LACE aka TILLY is very social and loves to play with the kittens and adult cats. She's especially close to Leo and together they agree there's always one more nap to take. Nap time is either in the cushiness of Mom's bed or the couch. TILLY'S talented and will dance when Mom sings her song, "Chantilly Lace" by the Big Bopper. Ya know: "Chantilly Lace and a pretty face. Pony tail hangin' down. It wiggles when she walks and she giggles when she talks".......(That's going to age some of you MOL!) In honor of Mother's Day, we think it's time beautiful CHANTILLY LACE 67319 was presented with her very own COTD badge!

.·:*¨¨*One good lick deserves another, just as one good daily vote for Sylvester 63773 deserves another day after day in May.

.·:*¨¨* Because we appreciate Danny and Crew's help in pawing catpaign blogs with us every Wednesday night for Thursday's catpaign we present their Mom with a dozen pink roses. .·:*¨¨*Tails speak louder than words! We raise our tails to you in thanks! With balloons full of kitty kisses & a bouquet of catnip wishes, we would like to wish all the Moms a very Happy Mother's Day! Try hard to be sweet and cuddly on that day with no spills or accidents ~ especially hairballs - Mom's least favorite. FL Fab Four ~ Danny and Crew for the Mews Room 46883
