History: THE NUTCRACKER BALLET
On December 17, 1892, The Nutcracker ballet premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia. Critics and audience thought it a failure; it was not an instant success.
The adaptation by Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870) was based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by Ernst Theodor Wilhelm Hoffman (1776-1822).
The score was composed by Peter Tchaikovsky, commissioned by mastermind choreographer Marius Petipa. Tchaikovsky died less than a year later.
The ballet was first performed in the United States in 1944. The Nutcracker has become a classic — many people consider it the most popular ballet in the world.

"2" ~OLD LIFE ENDS*NEW LIFE BEGINS~
EUGENE, OREGON WEATHER REPORT:
The temperature was high 49 & low was 42 this morning, now it's 48 with humidity 89% & wind is 7 MPH SSW. Saturday's suppose to be Mostly Cloudy & High 46.

♥ Well, mom scooped out our litter boxes then she dumped the litter out of two of them and washed the litter boxes, dried them then let them air dry, too, plus she washed the scoopers. A little later, she put fresh litter in both boxes.
♥ It's been a chilly day here so we mostly slept. Mom did hold me for awhile, then it was Whyskrs 10378 turn. Callie 239447 got on dad's lap.
♥ We forgot to tell you that the Portland Zoo in Portland, Oregon (a few days ago) lost a Monkey (we think that's what it was) due to old age, but the same day was also a baby Elephant born at about 300 lbs. The baby will stay there with its mama!!!!
♥ Mom entered, SYLVESTER KNIGHT, in the Cat Fancy/CatChannel "Cat Pictures: Tuxedo Cats Contest". He's NeuBee's 123633 fur-real boyfriend!!!! We are asking; would you vote for him when you can? Thank You! Ends New Year's Eve! Here's the link:
