sure hope that wacky weather is gone and you've had a beautiful day..
we all stayed in..our dad was taken to the hospital last night because he was dizzy and pased out. mom brought him home today. all tests were "normal" and he has a heart monitor on right now..he hit his head, too but he seems to be ok..well...mom thinks he is a little "off"..but hopes this doesn't ever happen again!
so..we're all gonna hang out with him tonight to make sure he's ok..

How are you today.A nice cool day here for us.Mom tricked me this morning before she took me outside,she got my harness on then she put that smelly ole frontline on me,well that sure made me mad this time,mom said I must have smelled it cause it usually dont bother me,out we went,I was hissing, pulling on the lead.We went on to the birdie tree,scratched my claws, did not see any ole birdies there,all the feathers that we saw yesterday had all blown away,I explored some in my tall grass,did not see any groundhogs,but did see 3 off them late yesterday afternoon,bet that ole fox did get the rest of them.Every few minutes I would look at mom really mean,mom said Spongie you know that stuff keeps the fleas off you, but mom I don't like that ole smell,Mom cannot figure out what made me so mad this time when she put it on me,unless it might have gotten a little on my harness and I smelled it then,I did not even want to explore under the mousey bush when we went to sit down,I did play stick with mom for a minute,then I got mad,hissed and bit the stick right in half,hehe!Mom said you sure are a little stinker today.Then I gave Spotty,Oreo mean looks,well I think they were laughing at me!I just lay beside mom and played like I was sleeping,hehe,I was so mad I did not even try to chase a butterfly that flew right over my head,guess that will show mom!Mom said ok if you are going to pout we are going in the house,well I got right up,came in,made my house rounds,went straight to my toy rug,turned my back on mom,I did not even take mr.innertube or lay with mom when she was resting,she yelled and said Spongie are you still pouting at me,hehe,I did go in and get on the back of the bed,did not give mom a kitty kiss,I heard mom tell Wicket that I was a ole pouty stinker kitty,now what about that!I did sneak over and eat my treats mom had on the bed before Wicket got them,hehe!Now I'm laying on the cat tree with my back toward mom,ole sun went behind the clouds and left my toy rug,Mom said hey Spongie still pouting at your ole mom,I just opened one eye and gave her a mean look!Mom said you wil get over it when its time for our late evening walk little man.Baby laying in the window,Missy,Cindell napping,Wicket stretched out on the woOd floor,he is worn out from playig catch with mom and his catnip mouseys.Whew Baby just knocked something out of the window,made a terrible loud boom,scared the fur right off me,I thought the ole pouty not me monster done got me so guess I better not pout at mom any more today,hehe!Pawhugs,pouty Spongie,Gang,Angels

We’ll be disembarking our train and checking into the Hyatt Carmel Highlands Hotel, a picturesque retreat overlooking the Big Sur coast with epic views of the Pacific Ocean. Today they sell for over 8 million dollars with their front-row ocean views from Point Lobos to Pebble Beach!

CC is putting a kink in my tail today
& if it moves any slower I'm going to find a snail to blog for me before I start clawing the keyboard...MOL!

I was hissing at the window earlier this morning when I saw my crazy mommy cat Sassee getting ready to jump at the screen. Trixie ran up to join me in hissing at her & then she left so must have decided that pouncing toward 2 hissing kitties might not be such a great idea...MOL! Mom has been able to pet her dark tiger kitten but the other one scampers off (like I used to) anytime he/she hears a noise. Time & lots of mom's patience will hopefully tame these two wildcats just like it did me. Joseph is another prime example of patience & love because he wouldn't have survived without mom's help. He's a sweet & gentle boy that loves to lay on mom's lap when she's sitting outside...or when he's in for his daily visit. I hiss at him when he comes in but he ignores me so guess I'm not as scary as I think I am...MOL!

Zaboo & Patches are doing fine & have been enjoying the last couple of days when mom has been able to open the windows. She says she'll probably have to shut them down later this afternoon though because it's beginning to heat up even higher temps predicted for the rest of the week. Guess we should expect that though since summer is peeking around the corner at us. Well I'd better get pouncing so I can visit as many as possible today & clean up our pages. Have a pawtastic day dear furiends!

How are you today.A funny day here,rain awhile,then mr.sun awhile.Me,mom got to go for our walk,ole grass was sure wet,but I went right on,went to my birdie tree,the first thing I do is stretch way up,scratch my claws and look up in the tree,no birdies there,but a ole rain drop hit me right on the nose,I think a birdie shook a leaf and did that to me!Mom said uh oh Spongie look,there was a pile of bird feathers under the tree,something must have caught a birdie there,I looked at Oreo and said did you catch my birdies,he just kept on going,mom said maybe something just pulled out a few feathers Spongie and birdie got away safely.Then there were black birds and another kind of bird squaking and fighting each other out in the field,I said be quie birdies I can't explore with all that racket!Mom would not let me in the tall grass,she said I would get all wet,ahhh mom,that would be fun,but nope I just had to eat me some grass.Then mom got tired and we sat down for a few minutes,a big moth flew over my head,but I missed it,I wanted to chomp it all up,gives me strong muscles,hehe!Not many buterflys out today,did not see any of the groundhogs at all,hope they were ok. Lay beside mom,watched Oreo rolling on the gravel,then mom said time to go in,I hopped up and we came in.Quick as mom got my harness off I took off racing through the house,my paws wewre wet and I was sliding all over the floors,hit the walls and kept on going,mom said Spongie slow down,you are going to get hurt,nope can't mom still got lots of energy to burn off so I kept on running,then jumped on the big scratcher tree and moved it,that thing is heavy!I was worn out,but had fun,Wicket,Baby were sure getting outta my way when I was running!Then I raced in when mom went to rest to see if my window birdie was there,ole birdie did not come to see me today!Well last night mom had just got to sleep,Baby let out a loud screetch,scared mom terrrible,while she was trying to get the light on I heard her saw ok,Spongie,Wicket I know one of you was after Baby,well when she got the light on,Wicket was sitting on the bed looking innocent,I was sitting in the bedroom door looking VERY innocent,but we both got scolded,Baby got hugged,thats not fair mom,you don't know that we did that,we get blamed for everything here,it could have been the ole not me monster after Baby,hehe!Now I'm laying on my toy rug looking for mr.sun,but he is behind the ole rain clouds,Baby bathing herself,Cindell eating,Missy napping with her head right in the dry bowl again,her head is in the dry bowl,her body on her blankie.Wicket playing with his catnip mouseys,he has them all over the floor,pawhugs,the running Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Wander With Whiskers – June 18-Big Sur to Carmel
Big Sur Coast Highway to Carmel

The Royal Feline Castle Train will be our guide through the Big Sur Coast Highway. We want to enjoy the spectacular scenery during the day, so after dinner on the train, we can all relax onboard for the night. Sip a cocktail in the lounge car, read in the library, gain a tree-top perspective of the landscape from the dome car or join furiends around the piano. Or simply relax in your cabin in the comfort of our sleeping cars until morning, when the breakfast bell chimes, signaling our journey is about to commence.

The stunning views of the Pacific Ocean right outside our windows make the perfect companion to our breakfast meal. Tables are set with crisp starched linens and fine china and glassware reminiscent of the glory days of rail travel.

Timing is perfect to enjoy a spectacular view of the California coastline as our train travels to our next destination of Carmel. We will be traveling the route that hugs the California coast, providing access to austere, windswept cypress trees, fog-shrouded cliffs and the crashing surf of the Pacific Ocean. Views include rugged canyons, towering redwoods, sea lions, and other marine life.

Big Sur's beaches are subject to generally cool weather. Sunny days are sporadic as a blanket of seasonal fog often hugs the coastline, dropping the temperature in the process. Private property and Big Sur's steep terrain make most of its coastline inaccessible to the public. However, several State Park and U.S. Forest Service beaches are open to the public all year. These beaches are recommended due to easy access and spine-tingling scenery.

The actual town of Big Sur has been a fertile area for artistic advancements. A variety of authors have immortalized the region with the written word. In the late 19th century, Robert Louis Stevenson lived briefly in the area, followed by John Steinbeck, Henry Miller, and Jack Kerouac, among others. Unlike many areas honored in literature, Big Sur remains relatively unchanged over the years.

John Steinbeck wrote, "Here at Big Sur, at a certain time of the year and a certain time of the day only, a pale blue-green hue pervades the distant hills; it is an old, nostalgic hue, it is a mystical phenomenon, or so I like to think, born of a certain way of looking at the world."

John Steinbeck's legacy is now synonymous with the Big Sur area. Known as Steinbeck Country, the cities of Monterey, Carmel and Salinas on the northern end of the byway brim with memories of John Steinbeck's legacy.

Our journey for now is almost over as we arrive to the city of Carmel.

a am sorry your pawrents didn't bring you any lobster..some humans are pretty selfish when it comes to that kind of fish..our mom doesn't like any kind of fish..so we never get any around here..she can't even stand the kind that is in our cat food cans...sigh..

How are you today.A rainy day off,on here for us,but mr.sun is peeking out right now again.Me,mom went for my little exploing walk,I did not pull out of my harness today,mom said good thing, her ole back was to sore to chase after me again,hehe!Checked out my birdie tree,scratched my claws,I was looking up and there were some birdies,I said hi birdies,want to come play with me today,but they all flew off,ole birdies,I was not going to bother them,hehe! We have not saw that ole fox anymore,mom said she hoped it was gone, did see 2 of the groundhogs eating grass,but they sure were acting scared and watching all around them. I ate grass,checked out under all bushes,nothing out it was to wet,I was looking under a bush and mom shook the limb and all the rain came right down on me,ahh mom,that was not funny at all,now I'm all wet,mom laughed at me!Just for that I wacked Spotty when he came around me.Oreo was laying on the gravel upside down watching a butterfly,I tried to catch it but it got away.Ate a moth that landed right on the grass in front of me,I sure chomped him up fast,hehe!Then mom said time to go in,the grass was to wet for me to be in it,ahhh mom that will wash my paws off for me,but in we came,I did hiss a little.Made all house rounds,all ok,toys in thier place,mr.innertube,spider were napping.Mom went to rest so I went with her,did not carry mr.innertube in today,he looked to comfy napping,hopped up beside mom,ate my treats,Wicket ate his on the other side of mom,then all of a sudden a birdie flew right to the window and was sitting on the ledge looking in, jumped up so fast I almost stepped in moms face,she said watch it Spongie,those claws are sharp,quick move mom,gotta see that birdie,it just sat there looking at me in the window,I think it was laughing at me,if I could only have got that window open,mom got up to look and it flew off,ahhh mom,you scared the feathers off that birdie when you looked out the window,now its gone,I just lay down with my back toward mom,but I kept my eye on that window all the time I was laying there.Mom said maybe it wil be back later Spongie,I think they might have a nest in the tree out from the window,yaaaa,I hope they do mom,just don't scare them again!Now I'm laying on my toy rug looking right out at that tree hoping to see my birdie friend again,think I will call him window birdie,hehe!Wicket laying on the other side of toy rug,Baby laying in window,Cindell,Missy napping,mom had to go move Missy she had her head laying in the dry food plate sleeping,hehe,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

How was your weekend? We enjoyed an awesome pawsome time! Did you know that today begins Take Your Pet to Work Week? No cat owners in a recent pet industry survey said they took their cats to work, but 3 percent of dog owners did. Silly ole dogs would like work, wouldn’t they?! We are MUCH too smart for that! When I was just a baby, I would visit Mommy’s office often. Everyone there oohed & aahed over cute little me. Now I prefer to stay home. Don’t you agree?

I haven't been on much lately, but I just want to update you on Marlin and I.

First off, we both just turned eight years old on Monday. Thank you for all the bday wishes! We got lots of food, treats, a catnip carrot, and Marlin got a new collar and cat grass.

Secondly, my seizure situation has been good. After having seizures on two pills, the vet increased it to three a day, and since I've been taking that, I haven't had any problems. However, the vet thinks that I am beginning to develop a little bit of arthritis (I'm having trouble jumping onto the bed and I stumble a little on the stairs) and may need to take medication for that in the future.

Marlin has had a cyst-type lump on his shoulder for the past couple months. At our annual check-up today, the vet decided it should be removed. She doesn't know if it's dangerous yet, but she did remove it and sent it off to be biopsied at a lab. Marlin now has 18 stitches (it looks like she did a thorough job with the surgery) and is at home doing fine. We're hoping the results come back good, but even if they don't, she was taking the whole lump out so it won't have time to spread if it is bad. He will be going to get the stitches removed in 7-10 days, but for now, he has to have Yuck gel around his incision to keep him from biting at it.

Last of all, two new additions have been added to the family. They are goldfish named Harold and Sheela. Harold unfortunately died after less than a month, but Sheela is still alive. Marlin and I don't bother with her much, though. There was only one time that I decided to go look at her while she was in an alternate bowl during a tank cleaning, but my human stopped me before I could get a fish dinner.

Wander With Whiskers – June 17-Hearst Castle

Check out time at the Madonna Inn is later than the usual hotel. But then the Madonna Inn has been anything but usual! We’ll have time for breakfast & a game of tennis on the pink tennis courts, or just relax & stroll the grounds.

Back aboard the Royal Train to continue up the coast of CA. We’ll enjoy brunch as our train glides out of the depot & begins its journey to the town of Cambria. Here we will detrain to the waiting Feline Motor Coaches & head to San Simeon, home of Hearst Castle. If we’re lucky, we might catch an odd glimpse of a herd of zebras grazing alongside the highway. These are descendants of animals brought to California for William R. Hearst’s personal zoo. But don’t worry; they are well cared for by the Hearst Castle grounds men.

William Randolph Hearst, an American newspaper publisher who built the nation’s largest newspaper chain, told architect Julia Morgan that he wanted to built "a little something" on the CA coast. Three decades later, Casa Grande (commonly called Hearst Castle) crowned La Cuesta Encantada, Hearst's "Enchanted Hill" above tiny San Simeon. It's a 165-room Moorish castle with 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools & walkways, furnished with Spanish & Italian antiques & art, flanked by three large guesthouses. In its heyday, Hearst Castle had a zoo, tennis courts & two magnificent swimming pools.

With a personal collection of ancient art, sculptures, furniture, relics & more, William Randolph Hearst amassed a collection that still rivals museums today, and used almost every square inch of the hilltop California estate to showcase it all.

Today Hearst Castle is a State Historical Monument, and we can all enjoy a glimpse into the Hearst's opulent lifestyle.

We’ll be taking the Hearst Castle Twilight Tour where costumed docents literally bring the Castle to life! Warm lighting & staff in 1930s costumes - women sipping martinis over their card game, reporters typing their days' stories in their bedrooms & lovers strolling the grounds - bring the massive house alive. We’ll wind our way through the Casa Grande’s social rooms, guest accommodations, the Office & Mr. Hearst’s own private Gothic Suite.

Hearst lived & entertained at San Simeon with his long-time girlfriend, actress Marion Davies. Their guests included Hollywood stars, politicians & dignitaries such as Charlie Chaplin, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Charles Lindbergh & Winston Churchill. On the Hearst Castle night tour, as visitors, we can pretend we've received an invitation to come to "the ranch."

Unfortunately, there’s no restaurant at the Hearst Castle. We have snacks onboard the Feline Motor coaches to tide us over until we’re back on the train, where our exceptional fine dining awaits us.

How are you today.A nice day here.Mom got everything all ready to take me out this morning,started out the door,first mom steps on my paw and makes me meow really louldy,mom said Spongie I'm so sorry I did not mean to do that,then we got out the back door,mom forgot something and was going to bring me back in with her to get in,well I was not going back in,I jerked and pulled out of my harness and off I went fast to my mousey bush,mom yelling for me to stop,but I kept on going,she said please Spongie stop,I just kept going,mom was trying to hurry carrying all her things,ole cane,she just threw it all on the ground and took after me,yelling stop Spongie stop please,she did kinda look funny trying to go faster,well I got to my mousy bush where we sit and I just sat down,mom finally got to me,I jumped up on the pump house where we sit,mom gave me a hug,scolded me,and gave me a little wack right on my little furry butt,then got my harness back on,she said do not scare me like that again after what we saw out yesterday,I will tell about that in a minute.Well I pouted for a few minutes and would not look at mom or even chase a butterfly,mom hugged me again and I said ok mom lets walk a little under the shade tree,I got ok then,mom finally stopped shaking,now her ole back is sure hurting after our little adventure, I said ok mom I will give you my special Spongie back paw massage later,hehe.I explored for a mousey,nothing there,chased a yellow butterfly,he got away,so I just gave up and ate my grass,then lay beside mom in the shade.Well mom took me out late yesterday evening to the barn,I was looking in the tall grass,mom saw something comming toward us in the field,it stopped and it was a huge red fox out that time of day,it was not afraid of us at all,mom grabbed me up and we just froze there,I was stiff as a board in moms arms,mom did not know what to do if it was to charge at us,she yelled really loud and it turned and went over the bank,me,mom got back to the house really fast,ole fox made us scared and not get to explore.Mom knew that was unusual for a fox to be out in daylight,but moms friend said the fox was probably after our groundhogs,so thats why some of our groundhogs have come up missing,that ole fox has caught them,mom was so mad!Mom was so scared for the outside,barn kittys,but they are all ok and here.So mom did not let me out of her sight out today.When we came in I came in front of mom,did not want another wack on my little butt!Made all house rounds while mom tightned up my harness,ole harness.Then I went to rest with mom,I got over my pouting spell,hehe,carried mr.innertube to her and gave her a big ole I'm sorry kitty kiss right on her forehead,yep still got all my ole chompers,hehe!Now I'm laying on my back on the toy rug with mr.spider beside me,all paws in the air in mr.sun,Wicket on the other side,I said paws off my spider Wicket!Baby beside mom,Missy,Cindell napping,pawhugs, Spongie,Gang,Angels.

How has your day been.Been a nice cool day here for us,love that cooler air.Mom felt better today so we got to go for my exploring walk,made my rounds,scratched my claws on ole birdie tree,I sad hi tree,got any birds up there for me,guess not today.Guess what, my tall grass is growing back really fast now,yippeeee I said grow faster grass so I can play tiger in the grass again,catch bugs and dig under you,hehe!Ate some grass,then mom said lets sit for a while,so I explored under the mousey bushes in the shade,nothing there,so many butterflies,bees,birds out there today,I chased the butterflies,I don't try to wack the bees much anymore,the yard was so full of all kinds of birds,they were singing to me,mom,hopping all around the yard eating wormies,I said hey yoU birdies why don't you hop a littlE closer to your ole pal Spongie here,but not a one did that, wonder why hehe!Then I just lay down beside mom in th breeze and watched everything,Oreo was laying in the gravel,Spotty laying on the other side of mom,I did not even wack him.Then mom said I'm tired Spongie,lest go in,well I hopped right up and I came right in today,no hissing at all.Made all house rounds,windows open,mr.innertube napping,hey mom come quick,mr.spider is missing again,hurry call the kitty police,file a missing spider toy report!Mom said Spongie here he is right under the toy rug,oh ok mom,guess ole broom pushed him under there didn't he,hehe! Then mom had to get out ole pinching stick to get Wickets ole dried up pieces of hots from under the bed,he loves those hot dogs!Mom went to rest,so me,mr.innertube went to see her,ate my treats on the bed,Wicket ate his on the other side,then I gave mom a kitty kiss and almost bit her on the nose,she jerked away from me just in time,so guess I better watch my chompers tonight,she might pull them all while I'm sleeping,then what would I do,hehe!I heard Wicket say,you will be ole toothless Spongie,I shook my paw at him!Now its time for ole mr.evening sun to be on my toy rug,so I'm laying there waiting for him to charge up the ole Spongie exploring batteries!Wicket laying on the scratcher,Cindell,Missy napping,Baby waiting on moms heating pad,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

sorry i haven't been by. mom went back to see her dad and tehre was an unexpected death in teh family, too..and has been very busy since she's been back home..and, now, mom will be watching our furless kitten for the next week or so while kitten's mom works at the College World Series (baseball)..sigh...the only good thing about that is the extra treats i get from her..hehe..
so..we've just been hangin' out..watching the weeds grow in mom's garden and taking lots of naps and hiding from some of the storms we've been having..

How are you today.Has been a nice day here,but last night was really bad with all the storms,then we were under a tornado watch for about an hour,it go so black,scary with lots of the thunder storms hard rains,wind,but finally it all moved on,sure scard us all here.Me,mom went out for a few minutes today to sit so I could explore some,ate my grass,looked uner the mousey bush and watched the birds,buterflies,we did not get to stay long,mom had a bad night and has not had a good day,but thats ok,I came right on in,we can all tell when mom is not feeling good,so we have all been good today,now the ole grass eating monster is out there eating all my grass,I'm laying on my toy rug looking out the door watching it eat all my grass,ole grass eating monster!It sure makes a lot of racket when the windows are all open.Wicket on moms bed,Baby beside mom,Cindell,Missy napping,hopefully mom will feel better tomorrow and we can write more,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Another Day In San Luis Obispo

After a great breakfast at the Madonna Inn, the female kitties all wanted to take a peek at the famous (top ten in the world) tom’s restroom. The girls had heard a trip to San Luis Obispo wouldn’t be complete without visiting the tom’s room at the Madonna Inn! In it, the urinals look like caves with waterfalls, which is activated when you break a beam of light. Yep, that's it!

Walk to Morro Bay -
There’s no better way to spend the day than out on the incredible estuary in beautiful Morro Bay. Strolling the bayfront, fishing, kayaking or simply sitting on the dock…it’s all here waiting for us. Morro Bay, along California’s Central Coast, is among the most visually spectacular communities in America. This is where we will start. It has a rich early history that stretches back to the adventures of the Chumash & Salinian Native Americans & visits by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo & the Manila Galleons of the 16th Century. Here we can see the famous “Morro Rock.” Morro Rock is also sometimes called the “Gibraltar of the Pacific.” It is the last of a line of long-extinct volcanoes formed about 23 million years ago, which include nine peaks ranging from San Luis Obispo to Morro Bay. Morro Rock is a State Historic Landmark, a bird sanctuary & home to nesting Peregrine Falcons. It is therefore closed to any climbing or disturbance.

Now let’s go on a driving tour. Our motor coaches will pick us up at Morro Bay. The uncrowded roads & stunning views in & around San Luis Obispo make for incredible scenic drives. We’ll get a mixture of vineyards, curving mountain roads, and coastal views driving up US 101 & loop back to San Luis Obispo via Highway 1 through cattle pastures & farmland. We’ll travel the scenic back roads into downtown Arroyo Grande. Stroll the historic Village, discover turn-of-the-century Victorians surrounding Santa Manuela Schoolhouse, and cross the suspended swinging bridge — the only one of its kind in California.

Let’s end our day with a visit to some wineries. Wine tasting should be a perfect blend of a great experience & great wine, and that’s just what we’ll get as we enjoy the hand-crafted bottlings of San Luis Obispo’s wine region. The moderate climate of the verdant, sunlit Edna Valley just outside town allows for an extended growing season, which give local wines lush, distinct flavors sure to please any palate. My particular favorite winery is called Talley Vineyard Wines! Enjoy sweeping views of the Rincon Vineyard & the fields of Talley Farms from the tasting room. The vineyard is just minutes away from Lopez Lake, a great place for an evening picnic. An ideal setting for tasting great Pinot Noir & Chardonnay.

Time to head back to The Inn.

How are you today.A nice morning,but now its pouring rain with high winds,thunder storms, most of the storms seems to be going around us we hope.Got to go out for my exploring walk early this morning,was not that hot out,got to visit my birdie tree,I said hey ole tree any birdies up there today,did not see any,so I scratched my claws on the tree and said see you later my tree.Ate grass,chased butterflies and a big ole moth,they all got away from me,checked under mousey bushes,nothing there today,ole mouseys,they must have ran away.Then mom said lets sit down for a little while,so I lay on the gravel and watched the butterflies flying all around my bush,it has some kind of sweet blooms on it.Then I lay beside mom in the cool breeze and played like I was napping so I would not have to go in,but that did not work,hehe.Mom said lets go in,I got up and came in without hissing this time,so guess playing like I'm napping will not work next time!Made all my house rounds,then I threw up a hairball with grass in the floor,mom said you ate to much grass out there,ahhhh mom,did not,its good for a kitty,then I played with mr.spider on my toy rug,then mom went to rest and she heard me making that loud mewoing sound when I carry mr.innertube,I have to carry him in to visit mom,he likes that,hopped on the bed,me,Wicket ate treats on the bed,then I gave mom a kitty kiss on the nose,lay beside her and put my little head on her shoulder,napped a few minutes.Now its thundering out again and getting really dark out,so I'm laying on my toy rug looking out the door,hey mom what happend to mr.sun,Baby looking out window,Cindell eating,Missy on her blankie,mom cooked Wicket a hot dog,he was throwing it up in the air,playing until a loud boom of thunder came,he dropped that hot dog and hid in the corner,me,him are looking at each other,we don't like that ole thunder at all,it makes the house shake,gosh its so dark out right now its scary looking,mom just saw on the tv we are under a severe storm and tornado warning right now for our area,they are running the terrible buzzing warning across the tv, scared pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

How are you today,84 here for us.Me,mom went out to sit in the shade,no exploring walks in that hot sun mom said,so I got to explore under my mousey bush,tree thats in the shade where we sit.Ate grass,saw lots of butterflies all around and lots of birds singing,nothing much going on out there today,to hot,all the outside kittys were off in the shade.I ate grass,lay on the cool gravel,to hot to even chase a butterfly.Then I got up beside mom and just lay there in the shade with the cool breeze blowing on us.Then mom said to hot Spongie,we are going in,I did not want to,I hissed but I went on in.Made all house rounds all ok,checked to make sure all windows were open,then when mom went to rest I hopped up beside her to give her a kitty kiss and eat some treats,to hot to even carry mr.inntertube,so I will do that tonight,then I got on the back of the bed where it was cool,napped for a little while,now I'm laying on my toy rug right in mr.sun,mom said you better move Spongie,thats to hot there,but I'm still there looking out the door,Wicket napping on the dresser under the window,Baby beside mom under a fan,Missy on the cool floor napping,Cindell udner window,so guess its cool nap time for awhile,nothing else to do,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

What’s mew with you? Summer has officially arrived in southwest Mississippi, as it is a scorching hot 98 degrees here. Thank goodness for central a/c!

We will be offline until next week. Tomorrow Mommy & Nana have doctor appointments. Then Friday Mommy & some furiends are going on a fun girls’ getaway. Nana & PawPaw (mostly Nana) will be taking care of us. I am a Mommy’s girl so I will miss my Mommy!

Before we leave, we must tour this fabulous floating hotel. Let’s all grab some pastry from the Starboard Bakery and enjoy our coffee while strolling the Promenade Deck before we begin.

On May 27, 1936, the Queen Mary departed from Southampton, England embarking on her maiden voyage. The Queen Mary had set a new benchmark in transatlantic travel, which the rich and famous considered as the only civilized way to travel. She quickly seized the hearts and imaginations of the public on both sides of the Atlantic, representing the spirit of an era known for its elegance, class and style. The increasing popularity of air travel helped signal the end of an era for the Queen Mary. By 1965 the entire Cunard fleet was operating at a loss and they decided to retire and sell the legendary Queen Mary.

Let’s go on the “Her Finest Hour: A WWII Tour,” for an in-depth look at the role the Queen Mary played in helping the Allied Forces win the Great War. Nicknamed the “Grey Ghost” after receiving a hauntingly stark paint job, the ship’s impressive speed and size made it an ideal troop hauler often carrying as many as 15,000 men in a single voyage.

With such a varied and intriguing past it’s not surprising that the Queen Mary has been voted one of the Top 10 Most Haunted Places in America. In fact, some say the Queen Mary is one of the most haunted places in the world with as many as 150 known spirits lurking upon the ship. Among the ghosts reportedly still hanging around are a sailor who died in the ship's engine room, a "lady in white," and children who drowned in the ship's pool. Other phenomenon occurring throughout the ship, are the sounds of distinct knocks, doors slamming and high pitched squeals, drastic temperature changes, and the aromas of smells long past. These are but a few of the many reports of apparitions and strange events occurring at this luxury liner turned hotel. There’s no doubt the Queen Mary is full of mystery and lore.

Let’s unwind our adventure-filled day with dinner at the Chelsea Chowder House & Bar. There’s nothing better than a juicy steak or fresh fish after a day at sea (or at port). We can watch the sunset and revisit the memories of our exciting stay aboard the legendary Queen Mary.

Can you believe it?
Fluffernut is actually sound asleep...MOL! It's no wonder though considering how wild & crazy she was earlier this morning. No kitty's purrsonal space was sacred & no tail was safe this morning as she pounced on all of us in her quest for a playmate. I gave her 'the look' of total impatience along with a stern warning, Patches hissed & swatted her ears, & our calico cyclone finally got irritated enough at her that she knocked her down & made her yowl...MOL! Once she found out she'd aggravated all of us to the point of possible bodily damage she raced off to explore in the family room & soon was getting very sleepy. If I know Fluffers (which I do all too well...MOL) she'll take a short nap then be back to full energy levels again & wreaking havoc. In the meantime though I'm pouncing by to visit as many of you as I can & warn you that there's a white whirlwind that will soon awaken & you'd better keep watch for her to rumble through!
UH OH...I see her stretching so will lead you to the storm shelter & leave you a vote filled with catnip so you'll have lots of energy to escape from the winds of the Fluffernutter whirlwind!
