How We Met

A friend found him and loved him, but since he already had six cats, he asked me if I would take him. Imagine my pleasant surprize when I first saw him. He was sitting so regally. I stared at him through the cat carrier window in total awe. His silver grey fur shone in the moon light and his emerald green eyes looked right into mine. We bonded instantly.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Good mews! Today is the last day that I have to take my medicines. Well, this evening will be the last. And now I get a whole month without that awful stuff. My Mom is already worrying about a month from now when I get my urine retested, but we’re hoping with my new prescription food diet that everything will be fine. Thanks again for all your get well wishes and prayers. CC furiends are the best medicine!

Last night there was a ruckus in our front yard. My Mom ran outside when she heard a dog barking and kids yelling. Two small boys had dropped the leash on their dog and the dog was on the side of our house, barking at the cathouse that my Mom keeps out there. (It used to be for Ebony and Sugar Bear.) The door to the cathouse is a round hole, much too small for most dogs. My Mom grabbed the dog’s leash and pulled him away from the cathouse. The two boys, whose Dad had come by now, were glad to have their dog back. They said he had chased a cat into the cathouse!

SO after they left, Mom peeked inside the cathouse and saw a frightened cat inside! She ran to get a cat carrier and Dad for help. With gloves on, Mom grabbed the gray tabby cat as Dad lifted up the roof, putting him in the cat carrier. Luckily the cat was wearing a collar! Whew. It took a while, but Mom was finally able to pick the little guy up so she could read his tag. His name was Cheeters and he lived nearby. Mom drove him home. Cheeters is an indoor/outdoor cat, but after this, the family is rethinking that!

Dad wanted to move the cathouse into our backyard, but Mom said no. That cathouse has been a safe house for several cats now!

We hope your family is safe from all the fires my furiend. We have your precious family in our prayers.

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
This morning our pawrents took Callie and me for a walk in our stroller. It was 5 a.m. and already 63 degrees outside. We took water to fill up the bucket by the dry creek and scattered some birdseed along the trail. Our high today is supposed to be 99 degrees, but we are already at 98 and the hottest time of the day is still to come. We don’t have any fires near our house, but we can smell the smoke in the air from a fire burning to the south of us. We have our furiends in the state of Washington in our prayers. The news shows there are some bad fires burning up there. So scary and so sad.:(

My Mom has assured me my last dose of medicines will be tomorrow morning. Whoo hoo! I’m counting down the hours!

My Mom had to report to jury duty this morning, but only had to stay for a couple of hours before she was told to go home. At least the court validated her parking. MOL!

We did attend King Monty’s Coronation for a while this morning. It was beautiful as always. All our CC furiends looked spectacular and the Castle buffet was delicious. Cat Channel is still alive and strong as ever!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We hope you are all staying cool on this last day of June. We are in the mid 90’s today and hotter tomorrow before it cools down. We are hoping no one is crazy enough to set off fireworks for the 4th of July holiday.

I’m still taking my antibiotics until Thursday evening and then I get a reprieve. My Mom went to the vet to pick up more prescription cat food today. The vet said she won’t schedule my urine re-test until 30 days after I finish this last batch of medicines. Hooray! Hopefully by then I’ll be a healthy cat again!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Hopefully I’m on the last few days of my antibiotics. I should be finished by Thursday night. Up to now I’ve made it fairly easy for my pawrents to give me my liquid meds, but no more Mr. Nice Cat! I’ve started to growl and hiss at my Mom when I she picks me up. Mom doesn’t want to scare me by wearing gloves, so yesterday she wrapped me up “burrito style” with my cat blanket. MOL! We are all counting down the days. My Mom has been giving me a lot of extra love. ♥

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Yesterday as we were waiting for my tests results, the vet’s office called and told my Mom she needed to bring me to the vet. The doctor wanted to talk with my Mom. :( I need to take 7 more days of both antibiotics and while I was there, the vet gave me an injection of antibiotics . My test results were better, but the red blood cell count was still too high. What should read as negative, is now 10-15. Two weeks ago this reading was 75-100. The vet said that bacteria could have settle in my bladder and was only just discovered when my Mom brought me in for preliminary tests before having my teeth cleaned. Having my teeth cleaned is on the back burner now. The vet did say she felt confident the antibiotics are working, so at this point she doesn't feel x-rays are needed of my bladder- which was the next plan of action. She had been worried there might be bladder crystals or some obstruction in my bladder, which would require surgery.

I took my medicines this morning like a champ. I get one at 6:30 a.m. and then wait an hour for the second one. This seems to work best. (Heavy sigh!)

We were heartbroken to learn this morning that K. Mike’s Dad passed away suddenly. Our hearts and prayers are with his dear Mom Teresa and the family. May God watch over this very special and precious family.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
I finally finished all my antibiotics yesterday and today I went back to the vet for a urine re-test. I know my Mom is praying for good results. My sisters and I have our paws crossed. We should know the results tomorrow. My Mom stayed at the vet with me until I gave my urine sample. The vet says I have a bladder made of steel! I lost some more weight... I’m down to 10.5 pounds. (I started out at 14.5 pounds. Not sure if this new prescription diet will pack on the pounds!) The vet said this weight is fine. I guess my Mom is used to having cats with a some cushion!

This morning when my Mom put me in my cat carrier, I didn’t even put a fight. I think that worried my Mom more than when I do put up a fight! We can never please these silly humans. MOL!

Callie, Whitey and Orangie are doing fine. The weather has been hot- in the nineties- so we’ve all been staying inside where it’s cool. We hope our lives get back to normal soon.:)

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Callie, Whitey, Orangie and I helped our Mom prepare breakfast this morning for our Dad to celebrate Father’s Day. Mom made us kitties a plate of scrambled egg whites, sprinkled with a tiny bit of crunchy bacon. My sisters gobbled it up, but my tummy wasn’t feeling too good this morning after taking my medicines. (My Mom feeds me one hour before my meds, so I had eaten already.) The weather is supposed to be cooler today - the 80’s, so Mom and Dad are going to barbeque in the backyard this evening. I was hoping to be finished with my antibiotics today, but it looks like it might be Monday night. :(

Have a wonderful Sunday celebrating the Cat-Daddies in the world!

you never let it bother you anyhow.

You feed me my breakfast,
you feed many of my snacks,
we both sometimes think
in the food department, Mom is lax.

I run up to my cat tower,
roll over on command,
I show you my belly
and wait for pets from your hand.

I dance with you in the morning,
I dance with you at night,
to me you are more than just "alright!"

I don't show it in quite the way
that jumpy, barky, doggies do,
but Dad I love you

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
It’s going to be another hot day in the mid 90’s. My Mom and Dad took Callie and me for an early morning walk in our cat stroller, while it was still cool outside. We took water for the bucket by the creek and scattered birdseed for the birdies.

This is Day 11 of my medicine ritual. I’ve been trying to hold the medicine in my mouth just long enough to spit it out, but my Mom hasn’t fallen for that trick yet. She holds my mouth and blows softly at my nose. I have no choice but to swallow. Drat!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend with your families. Thanks so much for all your happy thoughts and prayers. It means the world to us!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
After taking a closer look at the medicines for my UTI, I’m happy to report I’m over halfway done. This is Day 9 and it looks like I might be finished by Sunday or Monday. Whew! This morning I growled at my Mom when it was time for my first dose. But instead of getting scared or angry with me, my Mom cuddled me for a while before giving me the awful tasting stuff. Thank so much for all your get-well wishes. What would I ever do without my CC furiends?!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
This morning was very foggy, but the temperature was a nice 57 degrees. My Mom decided to take Callie and me on a short stroller walk to fill the water buckets by the creek, before giving me my meds. Today is the 7th day of taking my antibiotics. This morning wasn’t too bad. I let my Mom hold me after it was all over and I fell asleep on her lap. My fursisters laid by my Mom’s feet, as if watching over me. My sisters are as wonderful as my CC furiends!

My Mom’s sister from San Diego came to visit yesterday and left early this morning. She has business in Napa today and could only stay for a day. All of us kitties like our Aunt Doris because she has a nice, quiet voice and she loves cats. Aunt Doris lives with our GM in San Diego and she has two cats of her own. That makes her a-okay in our book!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
I apologize for my cut and paste today. It’s Day 5 of my medicine ritual. This morning I got very nauseous, but it wasn’t until several hours after taking my medicine, so that’s good according to my Mom. At least I kept my morning meds down. Since then, I’ve been sleeping on Mom’s lap getting lots of love.:)

Last night my antibiotics went down just fine and we were all happy. I even played with some of my cat toys downstairs. For some reason the mornings are harder on me when taking my meds.

I want to thank my CC furiends for their prayers and get well wishes. It has helped tremendously!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
I made it to Day 4 of my twice a day medicine ritual. Well, it was twice a day, but my Mom got the okay from the vet to split my two morning meds. I get one syringe-ful at 6:30 a.m. and the second one an hour later. I can swallow one dose a lot better than two at once.

We’ll do this all over again for my nighttime meds. I just realized that is a total of 4 times I’ll have to be held down and tortured! MOL! I forgave my Mom a lot quicker doing it this way.

The weather is still hot with a high of 98 degrees today. We were supposed to cool down a few degrees today! We are fine as long as the A/C is on.

After taking my medicine, I like to hide under the bed. Mom made chicken broth just for me and I lapped it up after the awful tasting medicine. And yes, I have been eating my new C/D Prescription cat food like a good boy.:)

I know my Mom is very worried about me, but I’m trying my best to be cooperative. All the prayers and get well wishes from my CC furiends has meant a lot to us.

Furry body all a quiver,
Whiskers straight and in a shiver,
Ears are picking up every sound,
Watch out now there's a mouse around!

Eyes aglow with anticipation,
Black as coal in trepidation,
Can I catch it? Can it run?
No, it's a toy, but I can still have fun!

I toss it here and I toss it there,
That old grey mouse flies through the air,
Tired of the game I lie and ponder,
Will it be real one day I wonder!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
This is my third day on my antibiotics and it doesn’t seem to get any easier. (Not that I thought it would, but hey, I can hope!) I seem to be okay after taking the first antibiotic, but the second one is when I go ballistic. My Mom has a call in to the vet to see if I can take one medicine, wait an hour, than take the second one. That just might work better. (Heavy sigh!) Thanks for all your prayers and get well wishes. That really is the best medicine!

It’s very hot here today with temps in the 90’s. We have the A/C on, so we are all staying cool. My Mom took water down to the creek to fill the buckets, but no cat stroller walk for us this morning. After Mom and Dad gave me my medicine, my sisters and I were hiding. Maybe tomorrow will be better.:)

I'm getting on in years,
My coat is turning gray.
My eyes have lost their luster,
My hearing's just okay.
I spend my day dreaming
Of conquests in my past,
Lying near a sunny window
Waiting for its warm repast.

I remember our first visit,
I was coming to you free,
Hoping you would take me in
And keep me company.
I wasn't young or handsome,
Two years I'd roamed the street.
There were scars upon my face,
I hobbled on my feet.

I could sense your disappointment
As I left my prison cage.
Oh, I hoped you would accept me
And look beyond my age.
You took me out of pity,
I accepted without shame.
Then you grew to love me,
And I admit the same.

I have shared with you your laughter,
You have wet my fur with tears.
We've come to know each other
Throughout these many years.
Just one more hug this morning
Before you drive away,
And know I'll think about you
Throughout your busy day.

The time we've left together
Is a treasured time at that.
My heart is yours forever.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Well, Day 1 of my medicine is over and now on to Day 2. I wish I could say it was going well, but I’d be fibbing. I’m having a tough time swallowing both medicines.
This morning I hissed and spit at my Dad and I’m afraid I scared him a little bit. But Mom hung on to me and calmed Dad back down. When it was all over, Mom held me for a while, cleaned up my fur because I was drooling and Mom sang to me.

This morning Mom went back to the vet telling the doctor of the difficulty I’m having taking my meds. I seemed to have lost my appetite too. The vet gave Mom some pointers on how best to administer my medicines, giving me a 10 minute break in between. The vet also had some different flavors of the prescription food for me to try. One is a stew. Mom opened a can when she got home and I ate it up. Whew! What a relief for my Mom and me. MOL!

Luckily, all three of my sisters like the new C/D canned prescription food AND they all like the C/D dry food. Callie, Whitey and Orangie hide when I get my medicine, but they come out afterwards to sniff me and Callie even gave my head a tongue bath! I love my fursisters!

Thanks for all the get-well wishes and prayers from everyone. CC furiends are the best!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My (Whiskers) urine test results were not good at all. My Red Blood Count went up from 6-10 to a whopping 75-100! (Normal should be 0-5.) The vet prescribed two strong liquid antibiotics, both to be administered at the same time every 12 hours. The vet stressed to my Mom the importance of making sure I swallow the full doses and to watch me afterwards for any vomiting. My Mom filled the syringes with the antibiotics and mixed it with a small amount of blended cat food, to make it palatable. Mom had to ask Dad for help holding me. Normally I get upset when my Dad gets too close, but right now the medicine has me more upset. I even let my Mom hold me in her lap afterwards. Keep your paws crossed that this works.

In the meantime, we are all eating our new Urinary Care Cat Food. Mom is blending it half and half with our regular food until we get used to it. Needless to say, none of us kitties are very happy with our Mom.:(

Our weather is cloudy and very humid. It even drizzled a little bit this morning. The plants were happy.

Hi Wilson
Today is World Pet Memorial Day, so I would like to share this poem in honor of my beautiful MerryBelle:

A Time to Remember
By John Quealy

They come into our lives for such a short time
A time we wouldn't trade not even for a dime.
Then before you know it the years have flown by
And then all of the sudden we're saying good-bye.

It wasn't that long ago we said our good-byes.
We held on to you tight as you closed your eyes.
Your spirit has flown home on the wings of a dove
Into God's loving arms; in Heaven above.

Over the days we've shed many tears
But the memories we have will live on for years.
We feel your presence and we know that you are near.
You're keeping us safe and calming our fear.

We think about memories from years past
When you were young and strong and ran so fast.
We remember all the great times that we all had
How you always made us happy never made us mad.

They were the best and happiest years we had
We'll always look back on them and never be sad.
We look forward to the time we'll be together again
And we thank the Lord for such a great friend.

Now you run and play up in Heaven above
Cradled in God's arms covered with His love.
Playing by the Bridge waiting for the day
We come down thru the meadow to the bridge to stay.

The love that you showed us we'll never forget
Because to us you're one very special pet.
You're like a star in the dark of night
Always watching over us with the Lord's light.

So now we take time to remember our best friend
Who will always be with us even to the end.
We'll always remember you the way you were
One big lovable huggable pile of fur.

With Love,
Mommy Angela

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
I spent most of the day at the vet today, trying to give a urine sample. I can never seem to relax at that noisy place! We won’t get the results until tomorrow, but the vet didn’t like how cloudy my urine sample looked. Dr. Natt gave me another penicillin injection and she’ll talk with my Mom tomorrow about what the next course of action will be. I also lost a half of pound, but it could be from the stress of taking the antibiotics. Needless to say, my Mom is very worried. :(

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend with your loving family. Our weather has started to warm up. We left early for our stroller walk, taking water for the buckets by the dry creek (Mom added one more bucket.) and birdseed for our furiends along the way.

People are finally being forced to take the drought seriously out here. My Mom can only water our yard for 15 minutes, 3 times a week. Our backyard is mainly wood and cement, with 2 trees for shades. So they’ll get the most water. Mom has been transitioning the front yard with drought resistant plants, so we should be okay.

Our Dad had some major dental work done on Friday, so we are all nursing him back to health. Mom has been making him soups and really getting good use out her Cuisinart. My Mom made us kitties a great chicken pate, pure chicken with no added ingredients. Hmmm! Maybe Mom needs to make her own cat food for us! (She’ll need to do some research on that :)

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

Cats On Birds =^.^=
~~~~~
They're difficult to eat;
you can crush their hollow bones,
but the feathers choke you,
and the real bird's so much smaller
than they look with those tails and wings.
The game's the thing.
Cats with no training whatsoever
coolly perform the feats of acrobats.
We excel in every possible move
on the gameboard: we play to win.
Birds are the pieces that fly off the board
into their own dimension
while we stare and switch our tails,
gravity-bound.
Yet whether by accident or skill,
sometime against all odds you'll catch,
pierce, hold the trashing wings,
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We finally have good mews to report! My sister Callie’s urinalysis report came back good! Whoo hoo! Not purrfect - in the blood column where it should read negative, Callies reads “TRACE.” The vet said that’s good enough, so no more medicine for Callie. The bad news is we all have to cut down on eating treats. Callie and I will be transitioning to eating prescription canned food and dry food only. (Hills Prescription Diet Urinary Care C/D). The vet said it might be a good idea for Whitey and Orangie too. Mom will be taking them for an exam in July.
My teeth cleaning has been postponed until after I finish my antibiotics and hopefully get a clean bill of health like Callie. I’m hoping my Mom will give me a couple of weeks to recover from this awful medicine!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
First of all, let me apologize for my blogger skipping out on some of my meow blogs to my furiends. My Mom has been a little overwhelmed with giving both Callie and me our medicine, taking us to the vet and keeping her own doctor appointments. We’ll all be glad when our house is back to normal.
So this morning Mom took my sister Callie back to the vet for her urine re-test. We have our paws crossed she gets a clean bill of health this time. We won’t know the results until tomorrow. My Mom sat at the vet with Callie for several hours reading to her while waiting for her to give a urine sample. The good mews is I should be done with my antibiotics in a couple of days. Callie and I have become very creative at hiding from our Mom when we know it’s time for our medicine. We are not happy with Mom at all!
We were all very heartbroken to hear our dear furiend Queen Duchess became an Angel yesterday. We take solace in knowing she had a long, wonderful life with a loving and caring family; the kind of life every kitty wishes for. Our thoughts and prayers are with Angel Queen Duchess’ precious family.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Our furiend next door, Ebony, went back to the vet this morning and his Upper Respiratory Infection is under control. Yay! Next, my fursister Callie has a re-check at the vet on Wednesday. I’m still taking my medicine for my Urinary Tract Infection and I’m halfway through the yucky stuff!
My Mom took Callie and me on our cat stroller walk this morning. It was foggy outside, but not chilly at all. We filled the water bucket up by the dry creek and said meow to the peacocks who where grazing in their own yard for a change.
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My sister Callie and I got to go on a walk in our stroller this morning! Hooray! It was a foggy morning, but that didn’t stop us. We meowed to our doggie furiends with their human joggers, filled up the empty bucket by the creek with water (actually, Mom has been having our Dad keep the bucket filled while she has been recovering, but that’s all he’ll do- no pushing a cat stroller for him. Humph!), and we even saw two peacocks on our way home! The weather has been warming up slowly- supposed to be in the high 70’s this weekend, but very foggy in the morning.
I let my Mom know this morning I’m not happy taking medicine again. I was hiding under the bed this morning so Mom had to crawl on her stomach to drag me out. I’m sorry to say I took a little chunk out of her hand. :( Mom didn’t even realize it until she started to give me my meds and her hand was bleeding all over! Not too sanitary Mom! We forgave each other afterwards. The evening dose seems to go much smoother.
Rain? What's rain?! We sure could use some buddy! So sorry your dear Mom got soaked!
Eyes aglow with anticipation,
Black as coal in trepidation,
Can I catch it? Can it run?
No, it's a toy, but I can still have fun!
I toss it here and I toss it there,
That old grey mouse flies through the air,
Tired of the game I lie and ponder,
Will it be real one day I wonder!
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We’re pawing by with a quick meow because Mom is running way behind. The good mews is my Mom saw her Ear, Nose, Throat doctor and she can get back to life as normal (after her sinus infection). Whatever that means - but one thing for sure is - our cat stroller walks will commence tomorrow!
The not so good mews is my urine test results showed an improvement, but not quite where the numbers should be. I got a penicillin injection and was sent home with 10 more days of liquid antibiotics. My lab results look promising on paper so the vet is keeping me on the same meds. I still don’t like taking medicine, but I’m becoming a lot more tolerant of my Mom. MOL!
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
It was back to the vet for me this morning, since my Mom tried, but failed to get a urine sample from me. Mom thinks after 4 hours locked in a room, waiting for a urine sample, is long enough. At least at the vet I get a diuretic to help me, although it still took a couple of hours. I should enter some bladder-holding contest. MOL! Now we wait for the results.
My sister Callie is half way through her bottle of antibiotics, so she can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ebony is doing well with his Upper Respiratory Infection and is scheduled to go back to the vet for a re-check the first week of June. My Mom is becoming a regular at the vet. Hee, hee, hee!
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We hope you had a great holiday weekend with your family. We really enjoyed Queen Angel Sakura’s Memorial Day pawty at the Cat’s Meow Resort.
I finished up my antibiotics on Sunday and I go in for a urine re-test tomorrow. Yikes! My sister Callie is hoping she is on her last round of antibiotics. Mom had a blood test this morning and she’ll see her doctor on Thursday, hopefully getting a good bill of health. Geez! A bunch of sickies around here!
We saw some peacocks outside our front window this morning. Guess it's time for that silly neighbor who lives close by, to start up his peacock farm again! We wish he wouldn't let them wander- we worry about them!
Cats have always inspired jealousy. The amount of time they spend sleeping and the ease which they doze off is often envied by their human owners. A sleeping cat can fill a room with an air of contentment. Yet of what do cats dream? A twitching paw and a strange, low growl emit from the slumbering bundle. Perhaps a dream of constant cream and fine fish, or is poor puss pursued relentlessly by next door's dog?
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Just pawing by with a quick meow. Callie's urine test results showed she still has a trace of blood showing up. The vet called Mom and Dad this morning and Callie had to go back for a penicillin shot and 10 more days of antibiotics. If after 10 days Callie still has traces of blood in her urine, then the vet will do x-rays. Callie had bladder crystals and stones many years ago, so we’re hoping that is not happening again. Callie has been on prescription food ever since she had that scary bladder surgery and Dad told the vet, Callie is no spring chicken anymore. The bladder surgery was quite tough on her! For a day there, we almost thought she was going to cross the Rainbow Bridge. But she fought hard and recovered nicely. Callie was only a couple years old then- now she is eleven!
We hope to see all our furiends at Queen Angel Sakura’s Memorial Day picnic on May 25th at the Cat’s Meow Resort. King Pete and the Royal Feline Squadron have an amazing airshow planned for the big Memorial Day event!
We too are mourning the loss of our dear furiend and future CC King Uncle Buddy Budd, but we have to try to celebrate his wonderful life, remembering the great times we had with him and his fun loving family. Cats like Uncle Buddy Budd are a real treasure and one we will never, ever forget. When we think of him, we can’t help but SMILE. :)
Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My sister Callie was due to go back to the vet for a urine test, to make sure the antibiotics did the trick, but my Mom postponed it until tomorrow. Mom was a little bit worn out after taking Ebony to the vet yesterday and now she is worried about his Upper Respiratory Infection, but you all know how our Moms worry. Anyway, Callie was happy to get a one-day reprieve, so we are all taking it easy today. Mom has the vacuum monster out, but Dad is insisting on helping to clean house this weekend and wants us all to rest with Mom. Sounds good to me!
The weather here is cloudy, but no rain is predicted. At least it’s not hot. Purrfect for catnapping inside. Callie and I miss going on our stroller morning walks, but hopefully next week our Mom will get the go ahead from her doctor and can start exercising again. Yay!
We left a vote with purrs and hugs. We have our dear furiend Uncle Buddy Budd in our prayers, along with all our other special furiends and their families who are in need of all our prayers. We hope this little blurb puts a smile on your faces.:)
Cats & The Weather =^.^=
~~~~~
In the 1930's, a white male cat, named Napoleon, lived with his owner in Baltimore, USA. His observant owner, Mrs de Shields, noted that every time before it rained Napoleon would lie on the floor with his front paws extended and would tuck his head between them.

During Napoleon's lifetime there was a drought. The drought had continued for over a month when his owner noticed the clever cat adopt his "rain on the way" pose. According to the official forecast the weather was to continue dry. Unconvinced, Mrs De Shields telephoned a newspaper and told them that it was going to rain - her cat had prophesied it. It did indeed rain, and thereafter Napoleon's forecasts were published in the paper.

When he died, the tombstone over his grave was inscribed "Napoleon the Weather Prophet 1917 - 1936." It was said that in all the six years that he made his predictions he never got it wrong - which is more than can be said for human meteorologists!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My Mom got an urgent call from Ebony’s Mom Abarna this morning, saying Ebony was sneezing a lot and had a discharge coming from his eyes. Mom went over right away, put him in the cat carrier and took him to the vet. Ebony has an upper respiratory infection and was given a penicillin injection and a steroid injection. Ebony also had a clump of matted hair close to his behind that needed to be shaven off. He’ll have to go back to the vet in ten days and Abarna has to keep a close eye on Sugar Bear because the respiratory infection is contagious. Fortunately Sugar Bear has been vaccinated for this, although the vet says she could still contract it. We just have to watch her.

My Mom is still recovering from her sinus infection, so she had to wear the face mask the hospital gave her with instructions to wear it if she had to go outside. She felt very silly, but doesn’t want to take any chances at getting a relapse!

I am taking my antibiotics like a good kitty. I still hate the taste and I am counting down the days. Next on the list, Callie has to go back to the vet for another urine test. Mom is saving that for tomorrow!

Thanks for your prayers dear furiend! You and your family are the best!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Well, I started my liquid antibiotics this morning. My Mom thought she would need my Dad to help her, but they soon discovered it was easier to just let my Mom do it. I’m not ready to let my Dad handle me. Mom was able to hold me with one arm and use her other hand to squirt the medicine in my mouth. Afterwards, Mom held me for a few minutes before letting me run off. I forgave her quickly and rolled on my back for a belly rub. Hee, hee, hee! I have a feeling I’m going to be able to get a lot more belly rubs in the next several days.

We are all still taking good care of our Mom. Whitey has been unusually affection to Mom, clinging to her legs when she gets up and hopping back on the bed to lie by her side. We haven’t been going on our stroller walks, but Mom keeps telling us we will very soon. The weather has been overcast and cloudy the past few days, purrfect for resting in bed with our Mom.

Thanks for the prayers for all of us my dear furiend. Come here and let me give you a big hug!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We sure have missed everyone. We have a lot of catching up to do so please bear with us. My Mom is moving at a snail’s pace. She is recovering from her sinus surgery nicely, thanks to all the get well wishes and prayers from our furiends, but she’s not one hundred percent yet. My sisters and I have been taking very good care of her with some help from our Dad of course.

My sister Callie will be finished with her antibiotics today. Hooray! Unfortunately when I had my blood and urine tests last week at the vet, the vet discovered I have a urinary tract infection! I didn’t even feel sick! Mom took me to the vet this morning for a penicillin shot and a bottle of liquid antibiotics for 10 days. Thankfully the vet was able to get a chicken flavored compound. My dental cleaning is still scheduled for the first week in June if my UTI clears up. (Sigh!)

Whitey and Orangie are doing fine. We’ve all been sleeping on the bed with Mom, getting along pretty good. Whitey still hisses once and while, but her and Callie are starting to tolerate one another more and more. Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna came over to visit Mom last week. Abarna said both kitties are doing great and there haven’t been any recent attempts from Sugar Bear at escaping out the door. Whew! Good mews!

Sending soft purrs, warm hugs and something to make you smile.:)

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My sisters and I are taking care of our Mom as she recovers from a sinus infection. We will only be doing our daily voting for a couple of days. Right now our household is in disarray.

Callie has another urinary tract infection! Mom took her back to the vet on Thursday. The vet gave her a penicillin injection and a stronger antibiotic. Callie threw up the new medicine after swallowing it. Then to top things off, Callie disappeared and my Mom was frantically searching for her from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. My Mom was worried that Callie might have slipped out the door when Dad left for work. My Mom tore apart the house first, looking for Callie everywhere, but no luck. Then Mom spent several hours combing the neighborhood in case she had somehow gotten outside. No luck outside either. Finally when Mom came back home after searching outside, she found Callie and me sitting together in the living room, as if nothing had happened!

Now that Callie was found, Mom called the vet to tell her Callie hates her new antibiotics and will NOT swallow it. So Mom went back to the vet and we are trying a different liquid antibiotic. Mom is able to purée Callie’s wet food in a blender, then in a syringe, combine the liquid medicine with her puréed cat food. Mom filled one syringe with just the cat food, and another syringe with the cat food and medicine. Mom gave Callie the cat food syringe first, then the one with meds. It worked! Callie didn’t meow and run off. She did throw up a little bit, but it was an hour later and the vet said the medicine had enough time to get into her system. So we have our paws crossed.

Needless to say, the swelling under Mom’s left eye is not better. She thinks it might be because of all the excitement. So today Dad is insisting she stay in bed with her eyes closed. We’ll keep you posted.

We were heartbroken to hear our precious Queen Sakura had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our Queen was a fighter until her tiny body just couldn’t keep going anymore. Our thoughts and prayers are with her grieving Mom and family. It actually rained here on Thursday, very hard with thunder off and on all day. It was as if the sky opened up and was crying for the sadness in our CC Kingdom.

Sending soft purrs and warm hugs.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
It looks like me and Callie won’t get our stroller walks for a day or two, but that’s okay because we are all busy taking care of our Mom. Mom had to visit her doctor again today for her chronic sinus infection. The swelling under her eye wasn’t worse this morning, but it was still visible. Dad wanted to go with her, but the school year is ending soon so he really shouldn’t miss work. So we had the house to ourselves until Mom came home. She was sent to the outpatient clinic and received antibiotics via IV. Her doctor checked her before she came home, pleased at the reduction in the inflammation in her sinuses. Mom felt better and her fever is almost gone. Hooray! Now it’s her turn to take antibiotic meds for 2 weeks! Callie is having a good laugh! I’m not laughing because I know my turn is coming up soon when I get my teeth cleaned. Mom hasn’t tried to get a urine sample from me yet. She told me she knows she’ll feel better in a couple of days so I better get ready. Yikes!

Gotta go! It’s my shift for Mom’s purr-therapy! Thanks for all the get well purrs and wishes for my pawrents. CC furiends are the best!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We had a busy day here today. Mom took Orangie to the vet for her booster shots this morning. While waiting, a dog was brought in that had been hit by a car, so Mom had to bring Orangie back later. In the meantime, Mom’s cold is turning into a sinus infection, so she went to see her doctor. He gave her an injection of antibiotics and said if the swelling in her left eye doesn’t get better by tomorrow, she needs to come back for IV antibiotics. Mom had a sinus infection before that landed her in the hospital, so she can’t just hope it goes away on its own.

So Mom came home, got Orangie back to the vet (Orangie is such a good girl!) and she got her booster shots. Then the vet told Mom she needs to have me (Whiskers) brought back in for blood tests before my dental cleaning AND the vet wants Mom to try to get a urine sample from me first. Good luck with that Mom! Mom is going to try real hard because I get so upset at the vet and they don’t want to stress me out too much.

So the next couple of days, we might be late in answering my blogs, but don’t worry. We’ll keep you updated.

We have Queen Sakura and all our furiends and their families in need, in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Callie and I had our stroller walk this morning, albeit a quick one. It was 62 degrees at 6:15 AM, and the walking trail had quite a few walkers.

Afterwards, Mom had shopping to do at Petco (Whoohoo!); but she also had a visit with our vet to discuss my upcoming dental cleaning. Mom is worried, since I’ve never had my teeth cleaned, that I will stress out and it’s imperative that we get some antibiotics for me that I’ll actually swallow without killing my pawrents. MOL! Our vet has a small practice (she is the only vet!), but she is always ready to listen to my Mom’s many questions - (Hee, hee!) - and the vet always comes back with answers.

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
My sister Callie had her recheck at the vet today. The vet needed a urine sample from Callie, but as always, Callie peed on my Mom while she was getting put inside the cat carrier. Mom was ready with a change of clothes. The vet gave Callie a diuretic, and after half an hour, Callie was free to go home. The vet said she looks good, weighs 12.5 pounds (down from almost 14 pounds at her heaviest), but the test results won’t be back until Friday or Monday. Yippee!

Next month I’m on the vet-hit list with my teeth cleaning! I don’t even want to think about that yet.:(

We wish we could send you some of our warm weather. Today is supposed to hit 87 degrees. A little too hot for sunning outside!

Hope to see you at the Coronation tonight for Queen Sakura!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
That ole blogger of mine is running way behind today. My Dad’s cold has settled in his chest. He felt so lousy this morning, he let my Mom convince him to see the doctor today after he gets home from school.

We are all fine, just tired from a sleepless night of Dad’s coughing keeping us awake. MOL! That’s okay, we’ll put in a few extra hours of catnapping while our pawrents are gone.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

“Another cat? Perhaps. For love there is also a season; its seeds must be resown. But a family cat is not replaceable like a wornout coat or a set of tires. Each new kitten becomes its own cat, and none is repeated. I am four cats old, measuring out my life in friends that have succeeded but not replaced one another.” - by Irving Townsend =^.^=

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
Just a reminder for tomorrow’s “Merry Sport’s Day” at Sandy, Ana, Haley and the Angels’ home. They’ll also be honoring the first anniversary of the day K. Malachi became an Angel. His Mom is very despondent and could use some CC goodwill and cheer. Angel K. Malachi’s page number is 194826, and the “Merry Sport’s Day” event can be found on pages 270892 and 270893 - the homes for Sandy, Ana and the family. The weather will be cloudy with a slight chance of rain, but the temps should be in the comfortable 50’s - purrfect for getting together with furiends!

My sister Callie will be finished with her antibiotics on Wednesday and my Mom will take her to see the vet on Thursday for a recheck. Callie is doing great, thanks to all the well wishes and prayers from our CC furiends.

The weather here was a warm 86 degrees yesterday, but is supposed to cool down to 80 degrees today. It was purrfect this morning for our cat stroller walk. The walking trail was deserted and we still haven’t seen our feathered Quail furiends, but someone is eating the birdseed we scatter.

Today looks like a good day for cat napping outside while Mom brings out the dreaded vacuum monster. Our Dad is going to try to come home early from school today. He coughed a lot last night, but claims he felt better this morning. Mom is making chicken and vegetable soup today, a sure cure for a cold. I can smell the chicken cooking in the kitchen and I’m licking my chops. MOL!

Hi Angel Wilson and family!
We were devastated to learn this morning that our dear furiend King Pushkin became an Angel. With his failing health, but remarkable ability to always bounce back on his paws, we hoped and prayed he would be the one to defy all odds and live furever. But we knew it was an impossible wish. It was our dear furiend’s time to be called back home to Heaven where his Grampa was waiting to greet to him. That thought made us smile. We have King Pushkin’s Mum in our prayers. It’s always hardest for those left behind on earth, but at least we have a lot of precious memories.

We are all doing fine. Dad has a bad cold, but went to school to spread his germs. :( Mom told him to cover his mouth and wash his hands! My sister Callie is taking her antibiotics without too much fuss and she’ll be finished by Wednesday.

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
