Hi Princess Pretty
Another scorcher today..we hit the mid 80's again. It was 90* yesterday and this is only May, can't imagine what July will be like.

They keep calling for rain, but it never comes, so mom keeps waterin' the flowers outside. We do not like the hose, so we come upstiars when she does that, she doesn't get us wet, but we are afraid the water will get us anyway.

Mom is all done painting her dresser and vanity in her room. She ordered a new white chest of drawers yesterday. Mom ordered a new headboard last month and it is white, so instead of replacing all the furniture in her bedroom, she painted it all white, but the chest of drawers is so damaged and the drawers are falling apart, so she ordered a new one.

Thanks also for my COTD win and my birthday wishes and gifts. I know this is late, but with 6 kitties, mom is usually behind with our blogs. I was pleasantly purr-prised by my COTD win, I was not expecting that at all. Thank you!!!

Pearl Harbor, Honolulu … This memorial is a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives on a fateful day which launched the US into World War II when the Japanese military attacked on December 7, 1941.

Wikipedia tells us Pearl Harbor is a lagoon harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, west of Honolulu. Much of the harbor and surrounding lands is a United States Navy deep-water naval base. It is also the headquarters of the United States Pacific Fleet. The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941 brought the United States into World War II. On December 8, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan. In return, December 11, 1941, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States.

The USS Arizona Memorial is the most recognized icon of World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, a unit of the National Park Service. Access is gained through the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Upon entering the visitor center, we head to the NPS Tickets & Information desk where we obtain free tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial program. While waiting for the tour to begin, we rent an audio tour headset, and explore the bookstore and exhibit galleries.

We watch a 75-minute program in one of two theaters. It includes a brief introduction to set the tone for the visit and a 23-minute documentary film which includes actual footage of the attack. After the film, we climb aboard a Navy-operated shuttle boat to the USS Arizona Memorial. Note: There are no public restroom facilities on the Memorial so we make quick stops before boarding our shuttle.

The Memorial spans the USS Arizona, a sunken WWII battleship which is the final resting place for most of her 1,177 Sailors and Marines killed in the December 7th attack. In the shrine room, we find a marble wall with the names of all of these men. In addition, we see a smaller marble wall, which lists the names of USS Arizona Survivors who, since passing away, have returned to their shipmates by having their ashes interred inside the fourth gun turret by Navy and NPS divers.

It is important to realize this is not a tourist attraction, but a memorial and grave that deserves to be treated with respect and reverence. This is a place of learning, reflection, and quiet contemplation.

Following our Pearl Harbor visit, we dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant, enjoying wonderful fish and local produce. The pineapple here is so very sweet. Tomorrow, we must head for the Dole Plantation.

i don't know why our mom's always have to be doing that thing called "dieting"..i think they look real nice..all soft and cuddly..teehee..but maybe your mom should just put your stroller in her car..then when she coems home, she can carry you down those steps and then you can both take a nice little stroll..and maybe your mom can bring a few treats along, too..then, when you get back home...you can all share a nice yummy breakfast..tell your dad to get some of those cream puffs and things..why shouldn't you enjoy that food even when your mom won't..but..maybe you should eat in the other room so as not to tempt your mom...teehee..but, then again..it might be kinda fun to tempt your mom..pay her back for all the torture she's putting you through..teehee..maia and lia..

Thank you for pawing by with such sweet ♪ Happy Birthday ♫ wishes & goodies for us. What two extra-fun days we have enjoyed! We celebrated with Minnie Mouse cuppycakes (Mommy’s furiend who owns www.rosebakes.com made them for us). MerryBelle got a mew stainless steel Drinkwell Zen water fountain and Sissy got a red Petzip Luxury Stroller/carrier/car seat all in one. We also got a pink wand toy with a blinky ball on the end of it. You can see pics on the bottom of our pages. Of course, Casper Todd has already drooled & slobbered on our mew wand toy.

Thanks again for sharing our special days with us. Proverbs 27:9 says “A sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” So true!

I had so much fun playing games, nibbling on the yummy goodies several of you brought along, blowing bubbles & popping balloons! I was so worn out that I slept in & would have missed breakfast if mom hadn't tickled my tummy to wake me up this morning...MOL! Top Reasons To Keep Cats Indoors – Part 2 (from cats.about.com)

Next to declawing, the indoor-outdoor question is probably one of the hottest topics for debate, with both sides polarized to their own views. For those holdouts for letting cats roam free, consider more top reasons to keep cats indoors.

• Indoor Cats Do Not Get Hit by Cars. According to one source, more cats are killed by cars annually than are euthanized in U.S. animal shelters.

• Indoor Cats Are not a Danger to Wildlife. Let's face it; cats are predators, & left to their own devices outdoors, will eventually chase & kill birds, rabbits, & other small wildlife. Most of us would rather not see our cats cast in a killer role, & keeping them indoors will help protect wildlife to some degree.

• Indoor Cats Don't Get Lost. As outdoor cats widen their outdoor territories, they may become lost long enough to be "rescued" by other cat lovers, legitimate rescue groups, or picked up by animal control as strays. Statistics show that of "owned" cats turned in to shelters, only three percent are eventually relocated with their owners. Collars can break, & even microchips do not guarantee a cat will not be adopted & kept as an indoor cat by someone else. Why take the chance?

• Indoor Cats Are Not Stolen. “Bunchers” are people who sell cats to laboratories for animal experimentation or research. Their prime source of cats is on the street. Even a cat sitting on his front lawn is fair game for a buncher. Other people pick up cats for use as "bait" for training fighting dogs. Both categories of cat-knappers are the lowest of the low, but they are out there.

• Rarely mentioned, but equally serious, is the possibility of skin cancer from over-exposure to the sun. White & other light-colored cats can develop squamous cell carcinoma, a serious, painful disease.

I don't believe in wholesale statements beginning with, "If you love your cat, you'll do this & that for them." We humans feel different degrees of love for our cats & express our love in different ways. My stance on the indoor-outdoor issue is not "proof" one way or another of loving my cat more than the next guy, nor did my previous belief that cats deserve to be outdoors label me as a "bad" cat owner.

However, I do believe in personal responsibility for our decisions, & ultimately, our decisions may cost us the loss of a very good friend & family member. It's a matter of weighing the benefits against the risks, & being willing to suffer the consequences of our decisions.

Thanks for asking about my little paw. It is alright. Them antibiotcis are taking the swelling away and the redness is also gone, but the nail is still protruding, so we know more FRI.

We were hot hot hot today, it is still May and we hit 89*, can you believe that?? it was also humid, we were under a severe t-storm warning til 8pm, but we only had a 5 minute shower, mom said that was not even enough to water 1 flower, so mom watered her flowers at 8pm when the sun went down.

Right now we are watching our game, and we are ahead in the 3rd period, so maybe we will win this and be ahead by 2 games. Our arena is LOUD, you can't hear much of anything except for the fans. The announcers said it is deafening...MOL!!!

Mom said she will take a cool shower and drowen herself, she is so hot....she couldn't hang outside with the heat, so she came in and painted her dresser and vanity, but cause of the humidity it is taking forever to dry.

Guess what my mom was eating today??/ Pawberries, I was thinking abut you, and mom let me smell it, but it did not appeal to me at all, so mom ate it...mom said "Princess O eats these, they are good"..oh well, whatever.

Mom is going crazy about me not eating! She tried to find me this morning but I hid. However, I was ready for dinner tonight. Mom says I'm just paranoid & neurotic, hmm who did I get it from?

Terri goes back to the eye vet tomorrow morning. Mom thinks her eye looks good, but what does she know? She has to leave the house early to get to the office on time. last time she got stuck in traffic & almost missed it. The vet wanted to reschedule to 3 hours later! Mom said no no-I have to get to work.

Tonight mom promised to get off the computer early & sit with us before bedtime.

I'm enjoying a quiet & peaceful day before our neighborhood starts to get crowded this Memorial Day weekend. I can sleep even when it's a little noisy outside, but I may have my ear plugs ready just in case. tee-hee.

Lovely Hawaiian ladies place leis on our necks as we disembark in Honolulu. These are a special gift of aloha - welcome, and love. The ladies receive those made of white ginger or jasmine … our choice. I love jasmine; my choice is simple. Oh, the beautiful fragrance. No wonder everyone wants one of these when in Hawaii. For the men, there are leis of kukui nuts. With our shirts and dresses from Hilo Hatties, we are ready to explore the final island of our Hawaiian adventure.

Here, Hawaii’s timeless beauty blends with the modern luxuries of today. We can swim in the warm waters of world-famous Waikiki one moment, then enjoy the dramatic mountain views of the Nuuanu Pali Lookout another; watch the surfers on the legendary North Shore by day, then dance the night away in vibrant nightlife spots around Honolulu; get a taste of local flavors in Kapahulu one night, then dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant the next.

Our first visit is to 350 acre Diamond Head crater, one of the best-known volcanic craters in the world, whose vantage point offers some incredible panoramas of Honolulu. We choose to start early to avoid the heat of the sun. Diamond Head State Monument encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater. This broad, saucer-shaped crater was formed about 300,000 years ago during a single, explosive eruption that sent ash and fine particles in the air. As these materials settled, they cemented together into a rock called tuff. The panoramic views of Waikiki and Oahu's south shore from the top are impressive. We will have many gorgeous photos for our memory books. We learn the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater's slopes. These "diamonds" were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value. The volcanic crater, a major Oahu landmark, has been extinct for 150,000 years.

Next we travel to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the US. It was the official residence of King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, the last king and queen to rule Hawaii; the monarchy was abolished in 1893. We take the guided tour, which leaves us thinking our own Castle on CC is just as impressive and much more inviting to fun-loving kitties.

♥ Honoring our fur mama, BABY KNIGHT'S 13286 Three Year Forever Sleep on Monday, May 20th!!!!

♥ Well, the Yard Sale is over til after the first of June, but not the work for mom and dad as they will still be going thru the storage shed next with throwing things away and saving things for the next sale!!!! The last two days of the sale never even made $40 for both days!!!!

♥ Mom and dad has been doing a bunch of weeding in the front yard in between customers during the sale and rain. Today, mom went in the back yard and scooped out the big 3X5 (used to be 5X5) sand`litter box then she got her new weedeater assembled, as she had to take the other one back to Wal*Mart then went to Lowes and got one there instead. She got the front yard weedeated then she mowed the front yard.

♥ Mom did open dad's bedroom window this morning so we could be out in the cattery. It was nice getting the fresh air.

Hello dear one! Be proud of your mommy! You should really encourage her to walk in the morning. Here is my reasoning: if she walks, she'll probably do other things to help keep her healthy. Healthy means that she'll live a longer life and more enthusiastic.
Healthy means she can think of more ways to make money.
Got it? Longer she lives healthy, she will be more willing to play with you, fluff up your pillow, run to get your treats and food just in case you should run out, carry you around when you are too tired to walk,etc. etc. etc.
Wink, wink...so tomorrow tell her to walk longer!

keeps getting worse, doesn't it? Why would your Mom take up walking so early in the morning? She must be going nuts or something. Do you suppose she's doing it just to annoy you? I'll bet that's it! That's why our Mom is feeding those neighbor cats on OUR porch. It's to annoy us! (And because they are so skinny.)

The other day Mom was trying to take pictures of the little orange cat and she was bent down and Sasha climbed on her back and started fighting with the other cat! Only she wasn't really fighting the other cat, it was Mom's head she was biting and swatting!! MOL! Mom was begging her to stop and finally Daddy came and took Sasha off her. Thanks very much for the magical healing purrs for Mom. She is doing pretty good. Very sorry Princess Oreo that Mommy changed her schedule and takes a long walk when she gets home from work before she comes inside. Bummer. I understand your pain. Another rainy day here. Guess the grass will be growing fast again this week! MOL. Nothing new. Mon did laundry & I love to nap on the warm towels before Mom can get them out and fold them! I'll bet your paws don't even touch the floor when you walk! I hope Mom realizes all that you endure in the course of her selfish efforts at self (there's that word again) improvement, mol. SUCH a Drama Queen she is!

Don't be ashamed at having lost control of your human, it happens to the best of us at times. They are notoriously stubborn and are easily distracted by trivia ("trivia" being anything non-cat-related, of course). Be strong, girlfriend! -- Evie

You stay cam and try not to be stressed out to much.Maybe when mom gets home she can come see you,give you your treats and loving and then go for her walk,think she will?How are you today.Was a nice day for us,but raining now.Good thing mom got me out earlier.Did my usual exploring,nothing under the mousey bushes except those ugly worms crawling all over.I like to get next to the tall grass,then jump way over in it and start digging,grass,dirt goes all over,mom never sees anything there,guess I just like doing that,hehe!Groundhogs saw us comming and off they went in all directions,mom laughs at how fast they run,I just waved my paw at them as they streaked by us.We go by thier hole to my tall grass and Oreo still will not get close there,the mom groundhog must have chased him or something.I ate grass,gotta have my grass to make strong kitty muscles,hehe.Made all my rounds in the yard,then mom had to sit for awhile,I lay beside her,there is little white blooms on one of the bushes over where we sit and the blooms were falling all over us,they were all in my fur.Then mom said time to go in,when she gets up and gathers up her cushions and ole cane I know I have to go in,so in we came,I shook my fur and all those blossoms flew all over the floor,so here comes ole mr.broom out of the close and I got out of his way,I do not like that ole broom at all!Then I heard mom muttering,she had pulled off her shoe and there was one of those worms crawling on her sock,well she sure was moving to get it off and threw it back out in the yard,hehe,she sure had a funny look on her face,I heard her say ole worms.Made my rounds through the house all ok,ate my food,then went to my toy rug in front of the door and bathed myself to get all those ole blooms off me,mom came to make sure none of those worms had stuck to my fur,ole worms.Then I took mr.innertube and went to rest with mom for a litle while,I snuggle right by her shoulder and lay my head on her arm,she gave me a kiss,me Wicket ate our treats and then I napped.Now I'm laying on the cat tree watching the rain,Baby looking out the widnow,Wicket is hid in the kitty cube,its dark out and he thinks its going to thunder,Missy,Cindell napping.Mom said thanks so much for thinking of her,her tummy is doing better today,yaaa she said.Thanks Oreo for the magical healing purrs they sure help,mom is sending you a big ole hug,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Thanks for your encouraging words every day and your furiendship! It really keeps me going!

This morning my Mom was with the outside kitties for over an hour. I was getting pretty tired of waiting! Mom sat on the floor again, to get to eye level with the outside cats, and Whitey really likes this. Whitey kept rubbing her face all over Mom & purring. Mom’s clothes were covered in fur! Callie and I were quick to check it out and sniff to see whom she had been with. MOL!
Orangie was reluctant at first, but then would sneak behind Mom, sniff her and then go running away. Mom didn’t move and Orangie kept coming back like it was a game. Sniff and Run! Afterwards the kitties ate, not really noticing any scents from Callie and me. (I really think I need to spray that cat carrier. MOL!) Mom says this was a good morning. :)

well..we think your dad HAD to use a little bribery to go off and play that silly game with the ball on your mom's special day...at laest he knew exactly what to give to you both..i guess that counts for something!
mom had a quiet mother's day...all by herself..well..we wre there but we all decided to not make too many demands on mom..wasn't that ncie of us?
gosh..we had record lows and snow last week..and yesterday..we had a record high of 101! gosh..i think spring by-passed us this year..that ocean breeze sure would have felt nice to us..

well momma is gettin a bit of a break today at work and we gonna visit a bit. we are having great weather now. it is 81 and real pretty day. momma had a good mother's day as she went down and spent the day with gma.
we have been playing and such just being lazy kitties,

hhmmm, me thinks shaddy be kinda strange. he was laying in momma's lap and she was petting him and he wanted to play a bit, but then he started gettin his own tail now, and was grabbing and biting it and he started quarrelling at himself and even hissed at himself and then jumped down to the floor now is that strange or what!!!!!!!

we have missed our friends, but money got a bit tight with daddy out of work a whole month and momma says she has to get it built back up afore the home puter can be seen too

I'm sorry I missed pouncing by to visit you yesterday sweet kitties. Mom has been busy getting things ready for human bro's 13th BD today so didn't get to CC or DC at all. Bad mom...MOL! Anyway, she's almost done with the only thing left to do being frost the cake & add sprinkles & candles. Tonight is also sis' final school band concert so things have been hopping around here. The end of school is always one of mom's busiest times & dad is generally exhausted when he comes home because the teachers, principal, etc. are wanting end of the year stuff taken care of. Pretty soon it will all be over & then the calmer days of summer break will be upon us, followed by big sis' wedding the first day of August. Mom says this year has flown since she's been so busy but I have to tell you that I think it's kept her out of mischief...MOL!

Well got to run so mom can run the sweeper monster & relax a few minutes before she thinks of something else to do, such as weeding the flowers again before it rains.

My Dear Fur Friend ♥ Oreo....
Mom and I hope your Mommy had a wonderful Mother´s Day! I bet you gave her tons of extra special purrs and a bunch of kitty kisses too!! Here in Argentina we will celebrate Mother´s Day in October.

Mom saw your video with the strawberries on FB and she loved it!! My big bro Simba loves strawberries too and he starts to purr as soon as he smells them!! He also loves tomatoes and melon. He is the only kitty at home who likes fruits and vegetables.

It´s raining outside but it´s not very cold. I´m watching through the window while Mom writes my kitty letters. The cars pass by with their lights over the avenue and people walks with their umbrellas. We tried to blog yesterday but CC was super slow.

Dad gave my Mom a new BlackBerry cell phone a couple of days ago and she´s been chasing us with its camera! She loves taking pictures of us. MOL! Mom tells not to close my eyes when she´s about to take a photo of me. Tee-hee!
Last night she caught me yawning in my kitty bed; I meowed at her to let her know a lady must be ready for a photo!

We´re waiting for Grandma to come back from work and have supper together. We´ll be helping Mom to cook in a little while.

I just wanted to stop by and wish your Mom a belated Happy Mother's Day. I hope that she had a wonderful day. My Mom and Dad had a cook-out for Grandma and Aunt Dolores. It was a chilly day but we still all enjoyed spending the day together. We even had frost for two mornings now and tomorrow it is supposed to be 80 degrees. How crazy is that? Hehehe.!!! It's been nice days,but chilly & even colder at night. We thought spring was here. Fooled again!
Terri is still getting eye drops & mom's been getting inventive on how to catch her & we're doing our best to hide. I even stopped eating breakfast a couple of days. The whole idea of getting eye drops is nervewracking to me. Mom's attitude is eat or don't eat-my choice-the nerve!

Thanks for the Mother's day wishes for Mom. Hope your sweet Mom had a great day too! Mom had her surgery 4/30. The wire was removed from her knee. Getting a late start again today. Mom saw the surgeon this morning. He is pleased with her progress & will see her again in six weeks. She will continue her PT. The landlord came today & finally mowed the lawn! Boy was it high. Hi Strawberry Princess
It is another cold day here. Burr. We are in the 50's and the sun is mostly behind the clouds, but it comes out sometimes. It is supposed to warm back up later in the week and we cna't wait.

Mom let us go outside, but we didn't stay out long, we came back in the house, we like it just a bit warmer. It is also kinda windy and we do not like that either.

Mom took the bus out today and went to Joann-Fabrics as they are having a 50% off Sumnmer sale and she bought some flowers to wrap around the sides and top of the trellis and also got some birdies to sit on it...mom did take a picture of it and will post it when she empties her memory card.

Mom has a head cold from the changing weather. She is taking cold pills for it, she sneezes a lot. I cuddle with her at night to keep her warm so she will get better faster.

Mom saw your picture on FB..daddy feeding you the berry. Very pretty. We do not like pawberries here, mom loves them, but we do not eat fruit...we sure like ice cream though, but mom said it is too cold to eat ice cream.

How are you today.Sorry we did not get to come by yesterday,mom has a terrible stomach virus or something and is not feeling good at all,she can only keep clear liquids,jello down on her tummy right now,she sure has had a couple bad days,but we are all taking good care of her,and staying right with her,I will not leave her side at all,I have not got to go out in a couple days now,but thats ok,I can tell that mom does not feel good.So nothing going on here.Hope mom had a good Mothers Day,we will try to be back soon to normal blogging as soon as mom is feeling better.Sounds like you,mom had a great Mothers day,sounds like you had a great time eating those strawberries!Mom said thanks so much for thinking of her and for the magical healing purrs,they do help,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Happy Monday!
Hope mom had a Happy Mothers Day. Ours went out with her cousin Janet to a nice Buffet lunch, with lots of good food. The only problem was a bit of over eating and she suffered for it later! Everything was sooo good she said. Got to make a quick round of the channels today, because mom is also looking at the Home Depot website to do some home improvements. We need a new kitchen floor and bathroom ceiling and sink, plus both need paint. Also need the outside of the house painted, but that may take longer. Think we talked about some of this before.

Thank you for your kind words, prayers & sweet thoughts. Like many of you, Mommy knows all too well about kidney disease. Her Dot passed away at the age of 17 from kidney disease & hyperthyroidism in October 2000. Mommy had hoped it would be a very long time before she was faced with this awful disease again. She will do her very best to give me the greatest care possible & lots of TLC.

I am eating the k/d canned and dry foods pretty well so far. Mommy says it is extremely difficult having one baby on a special diet. But we are doing our best with this situation & taking it one day at a time.

Thanks again for your prayers & concern. We really do appreciate it. Job 12:10 says “In God’s hands is the life of every creature.” We believe this to be true.
