How We Met

About 3 years ago, on Halloween, a completly black cat showed up on our doorstep. At first we thought it was a female cat and that is why we named him Luna. We put food out on our deck to feed him and after about a month he disappeared and we didn't see him for a year. Then about a year later around Halloween, he showed up again. We tried to keep him in our garage during winter so he wouldn't freeze, but he was terrified of our garage and he would not stay in. He stayed with us, coming to our house every once in and a while. Sometimes we would not see him for several months but then he would show up again. We would take care of him every time he showed up. Eventually he got used to our garage and was not afraid to go inside of it. Then about 3 months ago, while we were having a yard sale, one of our customers came up to us and asked us if there was a black cat that hung around our house. We told her yes. That a male black cat (once the vet told us that it was a nutured male, and not a female ) showed up about 3 years ago. We told her about Luna, and she realized that it was her cat that we had. When I found this out, I was terrified that she would take Luna away from us. She told us that she had gotten her husband a rescue cat from the shelter for his birthday. Then she realized that he didn't really like cats, so Luna wasn't really appreciated there. Then she and her husband moved to our neighborhood about 3 years ago (Luna with them) and that Luna had gotten outside. And once he was outside, he loved it and wouldn't come back in. So they built him a special cat home in their basement with a cat door. Well it was so cool, that in the middle of the night when Luna was sleeping other cats would come in and have horrible fights over it. (We figure this is why Luna was afraid of our garage at first, but we don't have a cat door, so after a while he got used to our garage.) The woman told us their cat Clarence (which was Luna's original name) kept on disappearing and would come back every once in a while. Well, the woman and her husband didn't really want Luna so they decided to let us keep him. So, now Luna is offically ours and we couldn't be happier!!
