Education: I don't know how without the grace of God this poor kitty survived as thin as she was when she found her way to us. She never has to worry again and is actually starting to gain weight and look healthier, coat and all!
My favorite tricks and treats are: Likes to talk to you and be loved on. and Anything to eat
Where I hang out: Under our steps, boat or under our shrubs. When it is real cold or bad weather she gets to come in the basement and likes to lay on the back of the sofa.
My favorite grubs: Wet Food - Especially Fancy Feast Salmon and Chicken or Tuna and Chicken
My pet peeves: Don't like to get flea medication put on or to be put in a carrier and go the vet.
What I love about my owners: They feed me and make sure I always have enough to eat and fresh water to drink as well as give me some love and much needed kindness.
My cat hobbies: EAT
Pet motto: Smokey crossed Rainbow Bridge on Monday April 6, 09 after being attacked in my yard by a Vicious Dog a couple doors down. I rushed her to the Emergency Vet but she did not make itl

How We Met
She just showed up at our house. Smokey was a stray and she showed up and was skin and bones, you could see all her ribs! We started feeding her and now she has become a member of the family. We took her to the vet to receive her shots and be checked out. They told us she has a small heart mumur, a Upper Respiratory Infection and was under weight. We are giving her an antibiotic and feeding her as much as she wants to eat so hopefully she can get well. She tested Negative for the Feline Leukemia & Aides which was good news!

PLEASE VOTE ANGEL SMOKEY #125145 FRIDAY 5/10..
Angel Smokey #125145 tells her story of a loving life..she was born in a barn and was her Mom's best barn buddy.When Mom would go to saddle her horse Bronx, she would always set her in the saddle to ride. She never did get a picture. But it always made her laugh and smile and I would get a hug and a cheek rub. You see, my mom is somewhat hearing impaired and I would always go to the barn with her and when something wasn't right I wouldn't let her go in at that time and she trusted me. She would go back later and would look at me and tell me to see if it was ok and I would let her in to get the hay for Bronx or what ever it was that she wanted. Mom would walk to the neighbor's house and I was her shadow and she would always look out for me and I her. I loved listening to her talk and would answer back with all the love that I had in my heart. My mom misses me when she goes to the barn and walks over to the neighbor's house. She says that those walks are lonely now. I miss my mom so much because she needed me. She also would call me her little guardian angel. HELLO PRETTY ANGEL!!!

I was given to my forever Dad for a birthday gift!!! I was a sun lover, like most cats but, I REALLY loved it! I was always trying to get outside to roll around on the warm pavement or the warm rocks in the sun. I was a total lap cat. I loved to peek around corners 'n' stalk Dad. He would peek at me 'n' I would peek at him. Then, he would hide 'n' I would creep up fast 'n' pounce on him around the corner! I loved to get in boxes of all sizes. Even ones that I was too big to get into! I'd have to try anyway! I loved Mom as much as Dad. That made me special to Mom. Dino is Daddys' boy all the way. Sammy at least sleeps with Mom. I used to all the time. I loved my tummy rubbed too! I crossed over to the LAND of the RAINBOW BRIDGE on 7-3-08..I have many Angel furriends here at the Bridge, but I miss my forever family and they miss me..Please stop Friday leave a vote for Angel Charlie aka "CAT" and help him wear his well deserved badge Saturday evening. This is the quickest we could return to blog. Your family has been on her mind since she's been off CC. She was very sick with Bronchitis and we wanted to stop and light a special candle to celebrate your life and Love! Mom is so upset - actually mad that your mom is suffering. We are so sad and we miss you so much! We're hear to support your family in anyway wew can! Mom prays that these owners are punished and this awful vicious dog is put down or deemed "dangerous" Mom's sorry that she's ranting...she's just so upset for you! In Memory of Smokey
"Rainbow Bridge"
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am so deeply sorry for that terrible tragedy that took you from your family. There are no words to offer that could take away the pain and deep hole left in the hearts of all who love you. I'm so sorry about your passing and what happened. Your Mommy must be incredibly upset. It's awful that doggy was that way and had such irresponsible owners. You were such a pretty cat. Mommy's almost crying now. She had trouble when she lost my brother and sister before I lived with her.
I hope to see you at the Rainbow Bridge someday and if you see a couple of cats there named Playful and Tommy tell them I love them and haven't forgotten them. Losing cats never gets easier.

To Angel Smokey's family,
I'm writing this for my family. Mama had a spell of bad aching and fatigue and didn't get on the 'puter for several days, so she just learned about sweet Smokey. I've been helping the other angel kitties welcome her and help her settle in here. Mama wanted me to tell you how heart-broken she is for you. I only crossed the Bridge on Feb. 25th, so she knows how very hard it is when that happens. God and I sent two new kitties to the humane society where Mama volunteers for her to adopt so she wouldn't be so lonely. She and they and I are all praying for you. Thank you for taking such good care of Smokey and for loving her. To the family of dear Smokey,
This is Pete speaking on behalf of our whole family. We are so very sorry for your devastating loss. To have Smokey taken from you in such a terrible way is beyond understanding. Nothing that we can say will ease the pain that you are feeling now, but please know that you are in our prayers. We are praying that in time the awful memory of how Smokey was taken from you will be over-shadowed by the wonderful joy and precious memories that he gave you while he shared his life with you. Now that Smokey is an Angel, He is in perfect health and never feels pain or fear. He misses you as much as you miss him and nothing can change that.... My dad believes that we kitties (God's innocent creatures, he calls us) truly have eternal souls, and that one day we will be reunited with our people.... We lost our Beloved sisters Lucy and Sylvia this past summer, Lucy to a sudden heart attack, and Sylvia to Liver Cancer. Dad still believes that they visit us in spirit from time to time. Sometimes all of us will be in bed at night, and we'll feel what seems like another cat jumping up on the bed. Dad says it's just Lucy or Sylvie stopping by to check on us. Please remember, though (and this is important), that Love is eternal, it doesn't stop with death. It never stops. Shadow loves you and is watching over you. My name is Wolfie, I just heard about the tragedy. How very sad to have such a beautiful life cut short because of irresponsible dog owners that allow their dogs to roam free without having been taught manners. Smokey's Mom,
We were so sorry to hear about Smokey. It seems that this is happening to so many of my fellow cat/dog mates on the cat/dog channels. One should be able to be safe in one's own back yard. It is simply criminal on the dog's owner's part that he did not keep the dog in his own yard - especially since he attacked other kitties in the past. We are so sad and upset to hear about your loss of this beautiful, innocent kitty. Please know that we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. At the very least, this dog should be made to wear a muzzle anytime that it is outdoors, and be supervised at all times when outdoors! So sad and senseless. Irresponsible pet owners should be held accountable for the actions of their pets when they allow them to roam around unattended and off leash! There are leash laws in place in most cities for a reason. I hope that justice is served for this beautiful Angel. Our hearts are breaking for you. We are so sorry to hear about what happened to your kitty. Dogs can be very mean and I hope you get justice for your Smokey. We have a Pit mix here who is a cat attacker and we have to be very careful in our own yard, too. We don't go out til Late Spring/Summer, but we still need to be extra careful.
