Hi Jasamine,
Remember me? It has been such a long time since I meowed. Mom got so busy with Grandma being so sick for so long, then always having to do things for/with Grandma and/or Dad, she got out of the practice of blogging for me. Thanks to my constant begging, I have finally shamed her into contacting all my past friends to see if we can once again pick up where we left off. Mom herself fell a month ago and hurt her sciatica nerve so now the chiropractor tells her that she will have to be really careful to keep it from flaring up at any moment. It has finally started easing off some so that is making her more responsive to my begging..tee hee. I had my yearly Vet appointment this past Wednesday and it went so good. I weigh 10.2 so no diets in my near future, yeah. Plus the Vet could not believe I will be 10 years old in October, he said I look and am in the health of a much younger cat. That made my and Mom's day!! Mom was so happy that she went and bought me treats, yum!!! Since we last communicated I have met in person my lady, Maggie, my friends Ricky, Blackbear and his siblings, Gidget, and Elvis and his siblings. Everyone was so wonderful and I look forward to someday seeing them again!! If I don't hear back from you before Sunday, please have a BLESSED Easter and I hope you get a basketful of treats. Loving purrs, Wolfie

Hi there Jasamine, Angel Ginny & all my Furiends!
Thank you very much for thinking of me so highly that you would nominate me for COTD. I never thought this day would come. I watched all my other siblings with envy when they got their badges and never let on that I secretly wanted one of my very own. Now that the voting day has come, my tail is quivering with excitement. No wonder Dad has been treating me like the Queen I am.
Thanks for voting for me ~ You have made my day!

PLEASE VOTE TAZ #154742 COTD 4-17-10!
Hi there! My name is Taz. There has been a whole lot of confusion for mom,Gidgit and me. Earlier today,we thought Gidgit was running. But it turns out,she just won last year in November,so I am running! So,you might have already gotten Gidgit's slogan, but now I am running! So,here is my story:Gidgit and I had a nice home when we were just kittens. Plenty of food, and love. All was well until our owner got married. The guy that she married didn't really like us.But,that was our lfe. Then, when they got divorced,Gidgit and I were given to the ex husband who didn't even like us. He kept us for a few weeks, then decided to move to an apartment that didn't allow cats. He took us to a shelter. The lady at the shelter said the shelter was full, but when she heard that Gidgit was a Sphynx, she said she knew someone that might take her. She called mom,and mom called old owner. She was thrilled, cause she had always wanted a Sphynx, but when she heard that I needed a home, and was going to be put down...Now I live a life of luxury. I do whatever I want. I am extrememly spoiled, and I get my own way all the time. I have even gone to a few shows. I got Grand Champion! But,that was a few years ago. Now I am too old for that kind of stuff. BUT,that does not mean I cannot win cat of the day!!!! If you can please change your name to say like:VOTE TAZ COTD!" or send this around to all your friends,I would love it! And like I always say, with great friends,ANYTHING is possible! Love,Taz

4/11 Shadow presents“Le Chat Noir” the Black Cat
Sunday-a beautiful day, sunny in the 70s, a bit windy.
We are getting a late start today.

I am humbly honored to be COTD again today, one year from my first COTD honor. Thank you every kitty who voted for me.

Thank you to all who visited Terry and me on our birthday yesterday, and for all the sweet, treats and gifts! CC is such a wonderful place with many wonderful furriends.

Today another breed with black color recognized by the CFA is highlighted.

The British Black is a shorthair self color breed.
It is said that the invading Romans introduced this cat to Britain. It is usually thought to be a “native” British cat. This group has many other colors, but the Black is a popular variety.

The British Black has a sweet-natured, gentle and generally undemanding temperament. The body is broad chested, stocky and solidly built. The ears are small, neat and wide set. Its coat is glossy, short and dense. The color should be all black to the root, with no rusty tinge. The eyes are large, round and wide set, with the color being either deep orange or copper.

The breed requires regular grooming. It is a quiet cat that requires moderate exercise. It is recognized in all countries.

Today is a Catpaign Free day for COTD

Hello Jasamine! ♥
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!...
Fist of all I was so happy on my birthday when I got all those sweet "Happy Birthday" letters in my kitty mail box. It really made me so happy. Singing a song of gratitude for you! purrrr...
Then, the morning after my birthday...what did I SEE?!
My oh my, in the COTD window...there was ME!
Mom and I's eyes were so big! I just couldn't believe that everybody did all that for me. It was the best surprise I could have ever got! It's such a great gift, because it wasn't from just one kitty...but from all my sweet CC furiends! The best part of it isn't the shiny gold/blue badge on my page...but that I wasn't forgotten and now I have lots of new friends! You're all so wonderful I'm sending you a BUNCH of fresh catnip and a BIG bag of my special collection of favorite catnip toys. I hope you enjoy them! It means so much to me -well, I'll never be able to explain how much- for everything you did...YOU MADE ME THE HAPPIEST CAT IN THE WORLD! THANK YOU! Every time I see that sparkly blue birthday present on my page...I'll think of a furiend was TRUE!

Mom made me a cake with whip cream on top! She's never done that before. It was so good! I got lots of toys and treats and everybody was petting me the whole day. All and all it was the bestest birthday I could have ever had. Mom took loads of pictures of me and the cake. Man, that flash makes my eyes sore! They are all on my page now so I hope you will enjoy seeing them. :) Mickey kept jumping on the couch while mom was trying to get pictures of me. he,he Mom was so frustrated because then Abby (no, I'm not kidding!) SAT ON THE CAKE! It was hysterical. She had cream all over her though so mom had to go into the kitchen to get a towel to wipe her down. And being the good boy that I am (he,he,he) sat perfectly still while I waited for her. She was so proud of me. Well, mom did get some really cute pictures and I had a lot of fun playing with my new toys. Mom shared -although they didn't deserve any- MY treats with Mickey and Abby. Hey, whose birthday is this?!

I hope you've had a really good weekend so far. Thank you again so much for voting for me and giving me the greatest birthday-and COTD!

Your lovin' bud, K.C.~Check out new Thanksgivin' Avatar! :)

P.S. Please forgive me for not blogging you until now, I am very sorry. Mom was very busy for a while and then her dog Yukon was extremely sick so we couldn't get on. He is thankfully all better now. Thank you (to those who knew) for your prayers!

Come visit me, Abby & Mickey & K.C. (missing since 7-24-11).

Hi Jasamine and Family,
I have asked Mom to try to blog my friends to let them know that Grandma is doing well. Her surgery went great, thank you so much for your prayers. Mom will be with Grandma at least a week more and I am missing her soooo very much and she misses me as well. She has managed to get a few videos posted of me. I now have 23 videos posted so ask your Mom to just do a search under Wolfie and it will pull all 23 of them up. Mom and I would love it if you left a comment on the ones you view. The DSL connection at Grandmas has been mostly out and the repair guy came out and all but it keeps going out, so I told Mom to just do a c/p to my friends so they would hear from us, that they will understand. Mom will be home for only two weeks when she and Dad will be going on a cruise. She has asked her friend Ms. Brenda to keep me for her since she does not trust Grandpa. He showed his rump on our vacation and told the kids that a cat is only good for slinging against a wall or fence and that he used to enjoy doing that when he was young. Dad refuses to talk to Grandpa since then either. Even though Mom keeps telling him he is wrong to lower himself to the same level and that he will regret not talking to his Dad once he is gone. Mom did bring me to Grandmas with her last Saturday night (the 29th) and brought me home on Sunday. I hated it there! Grandma has three girl cats and they are MEAN. I stayed in Moms bedroom and refused to come out!! It was good to be with Mom though. Mom says it breaks her heart the way I look at her when she drops by to visit for a few minutes. I can not wait for her to be home!! I sure hope all is well at your home and you are enjoying life. Grandmas friend's daughter was in a bad wreck on Thursday and they don't expect her to live much longer, she is 16, please pray for a miracle and that Teresa will pull through. Thank you. Please forgive our quiteness, it has not been something Mom has been happy with!! Hope to hear from you soon. Mom and I miss and love yall, Wolfie and Mom Linda

King Wolfgang Vladimir LePew’s reign has come to an end. It has been a short reign but one that he is vastly proud of. Many royal duties at his home castle pertaining to illness within the royal realm has kept his loyal servant Mom Linda from her royal blogging duties this past month. King Wolfie sincerely hopes that his royal subjects understand and forgive his quite reign. Please remember that he thanks each and every member of his royal kingdom for their loyal support and the great honor they bestowed upon him. Not one day during July went by that King Wolfie did not think of you. King Wolfie thanks you from the bottom of his heart.

Tomorrow Grandma is having open heart surgery so PLEASE keep her in your prayers. This coming month may be a quite one as well, but we will blog as we can.

I have new videos up, just do a search under Wolfie and be sure to go to the second page as the one of me as King is at the BOTTOM of the second page. Also, when I visited SpongeBob week before last I did a video of just him and got it posted. Just do a search under Spongebob to pull it up. I also have new pictures at the bottom of my page. Mom submitted a few of my photo shoot pictures to the local Humane Society in hopes that I will win one of the twelve pin up spots on the 2010 calendar, so keep your paws crossed for me. Even if I don't win, I still have my photos as a thumbprint somewhere in the calendar.

Always remember that I am thinking of you and keeping all my friends and their families in my prayers each day. Mom and I are trying to touch base with everyone.

We love yall,

Wolfie and Mom Linda

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Mom really was zonked out on the 1st and got few blogs out then yesterday I had a photo shoot (Mom spent a fortune but she got a CD with them all on it, plus even got one 16 X 20 of me as an angel.) Dad has no idea how much she spent but she considers it her retirement present to herself - tee hee. Last night by the time we got home from taking Hunter home it had started to STORM and continued to do so. Mom didn't turn the computer on and went to sleep. So, please forgive my lateness in getting back to you, here is my acceptance speech: Today I feel to be a truly blessed kitty. What a whirlwind month June was! My sweet girl, Maggie, and I have had so much fun taking you all on a tour of my home state of Louisiana. My Mom retired after thirty years of service to the State of Louisiana. My MHL team the Rodent Rippers took home the Scamper Cup. Three of my dear friends crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Lily Rose, Darling Girl and dear, dear Gypsy. My Grandma found out she needs open heart surgery. My Grandpa turned 80 years old. Maggie’s Mom Pat had knee surgery. My dear friend Bao Bao got a new little brother, Bing Bing. My buddy JoJo became engaged to his lovely girl Emma Grace. MANY of my friends were honored as our COTD. And last but most certainly NOT least my girl, Maggie, agreed to become my beautiful bride! It is with pride and a humbled heart that I accept the crown from my dear, long-time friend, Sylvester. Sylvester has reigned as a magnificent King of June. I pray that I can be as gracious and deserving a King to our wonderful CC community, of which I am honored and proud to be a member. I want to thank each and every friend that took the time to visit each day to leave a vote to make it possible that I should have the honor and privilege to serve as your King of July. I shall forever be grateful to those that catpaigned and/or placed me in their tag lines to get the word out. My heart overflows with love for all my friends and royal subjects. As your King I command each of you to visit King Sylvester #63773, to give him a huge HUZZAH – Long live the King! Leave him a vote of thanks for the wonderful job he has done as your King. My next command is that you should visit page #53825 each and every day of the Month of July so that my friend Sir Fuzzworthy of the Florida Fab Four can receive this crown that I now wear with pride. Don’t forget to congratulate each COTD and vote for those that are catpaigning throughout the month. Today’s COTD is my friend, MerryBelle #6569. Catpaigning today is my friend, Prudence #106518. I expect my CC Kingdom to conduct themselves with compassion and love and to give sympathy, prayers, praise and support to all those in need. I leave you with love, King Wolfie

Hi Jasamine and Family,
I am so excited and nervous and melancholy to see the tours come to an end. It has been a fun month and I sincerely hope that all my CC friends have enjoyed touring my home State of Louisiana. I know Maggie and I surely have enjoyed ourselves. Thank each and every one of you that have supported me for COTM, I truly appreciate each of you. Those who have catpaigned or put me in your tag lines, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Congratulations to Angel Lily Rose #127311, our latest beautiful ACOTD. Today is catpaign free, so good luck to everyone. Can't wait to see who the next COTD will be. Please continue to pray for the families of our latest angels and for Maggie's Mom Pat as she recovers from her knee surgery. Our last tour: Oh Wolfie, how beautiful this plantation is!! Wolfie and Maggie walk up to the majestic Nottoway Plantation, with its towering size, hand-carved marble mantles and intricate plaster friezework, they are awed with its grandeur and innovative features. The 64-room, three-story palatial mansion is sometimes referred to as an "American castle." Nottoway was completed in 1859 for John Hampden Randolph and his wife, Emily Jane Liddell Randolph, and it was home to their eleven children. The mansion boasts 53,000 square feet, and originally sat on 400 acres of highland and 620 acres of swamp. It was designed by renowned architect Henry Howard of New Orleans in Greek Revival and Italianate style. Maggie did you know that many weddings are held here at Nottoway each year and visitors can stay at the Plantation? No, Wolfie, I did not know this, what a beautiful wedding it would be in the all white ball room with the twin white baby grand pianos!!! Wolfie smiles lovingly at his beautiful Maggie and kisses her gently. Dropping to one knee, Wolfie takes Maggie’s paw in his hand and looking up into her eyes he says “Maggie, you are the most beautiful lady in all the world, I love you more than words can say, and I want to spend my life with you, would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” With tears of joy, Maggie throws her arms around Wolfie and kisses him then replies “Oh Wolfie, I love you so much and will be proud to be your wife!” Wolfie reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ring box and slips a two carat, princess cut diamond ring onto Maggie’s beautiful finger. Standing Wolfie takes Maggie into his arms and kisses her lovingly and tells her “Darling, you have made me the happiest cat in all the world!” With stars in their eyes and love in their hearts they walk paw in paw from the lovely mansion, Nottoway. Hope your day is as beautiful as mine! Love you, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
It is the next to last day of my COTM catpaign and I just can't express how thankful I am for my friends and their support, as my Mom would say...I am "awesomized". Today is my Grandpa on Dad's side 80th Birthday! We got together yesterday with him and gave him lots of photos of Grandma Talbert who passed away 20 months ago today! Today Maggie and Wolfie visit the very old Destrehan Plantation is an antebellum house located near Destrehan, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. In the nineteenth century, the house was the center of a bustling slave plantation that produced sugar for export. The site hosted the notorious St. Charles Parish Tribunal, which executed 18 of the slaves involved in the 1811 German Coast Uprising, the largest slave revolt in American history. The house is a unique example of a plantation home outliving the oil refinery that had been built around it. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural quality and association with important people and events in Louisiana history. One of the oldest homes in the Louisiana Purchase, Destrehan was constructed beginning in 1787 and completed in 1790. Robin de Logny contracted with a free man of color, Charles Pacquet, to build the house and outbuildings to support his indigo plantation. Pacquet was given the use of six slaves to build the house. He was paid the grand sum of "one brute negro," a cow and a calf, 100 bushels of both corn and rice, and $100 in cash upon completion. This building contract, still on file at the parish courthouse in Hahnville, LA, makes Destrehan Plantation the oldest documented house in the Lower Mississippi Valley. In 1914, the Mexican Petroleum Company bought the property and built a refinery. Subsequent owners were Pan American Southern Company and American Oil Company, which closed the refinery in 1959. The following twelve years brought rapid decay for Destréhan Manor. Thanks to an old legend that the illustrious privateer Jean Lafitte had hidden treasure in the house, treasure-seekers left gaping holes in the walls. Vandals also stripped the house of its Italian marble mantels, cypress paneling, Spanish tiles, and window panes. Fortunately, a local sheriff prevented the theft of the plantation's original 1840s iron gates and a 1,400 lb (640 kg) marble bathtub, rumored to be a gift from Napoleon Bonaparte to the family. In 1971, American Oil donated the house and 4 acres (16,000 m2) of land to the River Road Historical Society. Through its all-volunteer efforts, the society has raised sufficient funds to halt the process of decay and has begun to restore the house and grounds. Recent restoration efforts have focused not only on renovating the manor house, but also on recreating the plantation community that surrounded the big house. Wolfie, this plantation is so steeped in history, what a fascinating day this has been!! Congratulations to my friend Maxx #134761, our COTD for today, hope you feel better soon!! Today prec

Hi Jasamine and Family,
CC was soooo slow yesterday that Mom gave up on sending this tour out then....What a day Caturday was! mom got me up bright and early for pictures at Walgreens. They were taking them OUTSIDE and it was HOT!! Then we went by to visit Dad at work, then headed to New Orleans to pick up Hunter and off to Improve, Mississippi to little 2 year old Desmond's birthday party. We then stopped by Grandma's house for a while and finally back to New Orleans to take Hunter home. It was late when we got home and then Grandma called and talked until really late. By then Mom was about to drop, she even forgot to get my points from an ecard and comment!! So, we finished up yesterday's blogs this morning now we are starting on todays. PLEASE keep Mom Lynn in your prayers along with her furbaby Rambo. Rambo started having seizures yesterday, he was really close to Gypsy and could be grieving. My friend, Maxx #134761 is sick so please keep him in your prayers. Please continue to keep Maggie's Mom Pat in your prayers as she heals from knee surgery. Today Wolfie and Maggie experience nature at its finest when they visit America's largest park dedicated to roses! The Gardens of the American Rose Center. They stroll through winding paths, babbling brooks and thousands of glorious roses as they relax and enjoy the beauty that abounds here in over 42 acres. They are surrounded with vibrant blooms and delicious floral scents as they stroll through 20,000 magnificent roses! These gardens are among America's most valuable treasures! They see the country’s newest hybrid roses. All-America Rose Selections highlight the special gardens. They view miniature roses that are small in stature but big in showmanship. Glorious displays of exotic and colorful single petal roses. Their eyes feast upon hundreds of varieties of antique roses, thornless roses, “hand-painted: roses and celebrity roses. The Gardens of The American Rose Center are the home of the American Rose Society, the largest single-plant society in the United States. Founded in 1892, the non-profit organization promotes the growth and appreciation of the national flower of the United States - the Rose. The Gardens are open seven days a week, April 1st through October 31st. The Gardens of the American Rose Center are conveniently located off I-20 just a few minutes west of Shreveport, Louisiana (five miles from the Texas state line). Oh Wolfie, you were right. I absolutely LOVE these beautiful gardens, what a pleasant day this has been. Congratulations to Windsong #143203 our newest COTD. Today is once again a Catpaign free day so tomorrows COTD will be a surprise, aren't these just the most fun?? June is really coming to a fast close and I have had a wonderful whirlwind of a month! It warms my heart the loyal friends that have and continue to support me in my COTM quest. I love you all. Hope you had a great Sunday. Wolfie

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Mom got up late and we are suppose to be at a Walgreens about 15 minutes from here for a pet photo shoot, we could miss that as far as I am concerned - tee hee! Please continue to pray for Gypsy's Mom Lynn and Maggie's Mom Pat, who was still in pain yesterday but not as bad as on Thursday. Today Maggie and Wolfie visit the Louisiana Old State Capitol, Louisiana's "Castle on the River", which was the state capitol in 1850. This magnificent structure has been restored to its original grandeur. With its stained glass windows and dome, winding iron staircase, and beautiful grounds with magnolias and live oaks, the Old State Capitol is the most visited attraction in Baton Rouge. Now the Center for Political and Governmental History, it has won numerous distinguished awards in architecture and exhibits. They then visit the House the Kingfish Built! Nicknamed "Louisiana's White House," the Old Governor's Mansion is a historic house museum built by one of Louisiana's most colorful and dynamic governors, Huey P. Long. The mansion, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, housed nine governors from 1930-1962, and now showcases their original furniture and belongings. From the grand East Room to Huey's "secret staircase" to the serene Rose Garden, the mansion offers a wealth of beauty and history throughout. Paw in paw Maggie and Wolfie stroll through the fragrant and lovely rose garden……Oh Wolfie, I just love roses. Wolfie smiles to himself, thinking, she is going to LOVE tomorrows tour! Congratulations to our angel Tales of the Golden Kitty #106480, our COTD today. Once again this is a catpaign free day so who shall we see in the winners box could be YOU! Hi Jasamine and Family,
My Grandma's heart surgery is set for Monday, August 3rd, so please mark your calendars and put her on your prayer list. Maggie's Mom, Pat, is in a lot of pain from her knee surgery performed Wednesday afternoon, please be sure to pray for a speedy recovery. Please keep Spongie's Mom, Lynn, in your prayers as she is having such a difficult time dealing with the loss of our dear Gypsy. Did I tell you what happened to my Mom when she stopped at a Quiznos on Tuesday? There was a little bird sitting on an outside table, Mom went over to it and was talking to it and got down with her face close to its face and she reached out and petted him before he ever decided to fly away! Can you believe that, Mom could barely believe it!! She has had a butterfly do that once before too! Today Wolfie and Maggie are welcomed by Rayne, LA...a treasure of rural Americana spiced with Cajun charm - not to mention cuisine. The Frog Capital of the World and The Louisiana City of Murals welcomes them with warm hospitality. Anyone from the restless R.V. owner who wants to see America first to the foreigner who wants a dash of Old World elan in his or her travels would love Rayne. Rayne is home to one of Ripley's oddities, a state-of-the-art R.V. Park, mesmerizing murals, Cajun cuisine, an antique mall with fabulous treasures at reasonable prices, local festivals (including the annual Frog Festival), and an old-fashioned five-and-dime where a nickel might not buy much today, but what is in store will whisk you away to another world ... the world of Rayne, Louisiana. Take a peek ... Oh Wolfie, this was such a fun day, exploring this quaint little, Southern town! Congratulations to our newest COTD Sissy #6454. Please pounce on by page #106480 and leave a vote for the angels Tales of the Golden Kitty, pirate page! I know I miss Captain Olaf, who was a regular pirate kitty and I was lucky enough to be a crew member while he raided the pages of CC. Don't forget that today is my look alike friend, Leo's Birthday. His page is #129433, he is so missing his friend/sibling the beautiful Lily Rose who strangled to death about a week ago. So make his day with big Birthday wishes. I can't believe how FAST this month has flown by!!! All of you have made it so very special for me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support of me in my quest to be your next COTM. Page #2 of the French Quarter tour.
When the Pontalba Buildings were complete, the council then had the city surveyor design and build the iron fence around the square and redo the inside landscaping. In the center of the park stands an equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson erected in 1856, one of three in America by sculptor Clark Mills. By the middle 1850s Jackson Square was in the form it has had for parts of three centuries, substantially unchanged. The square originally overlooked the Mississippi River across Decatur Street, but the view was blocked in the 19th century by the building of larger levees. They view the Old Ursuline Convent, which dates from 1752 and is the only remaining building from the French colonial period in the United States. Used by the Ursulines for 90 years, the convent now functions as an archive for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, with documents dating back to 1718. The Sisters moved uptown in 1824, where they remain today. Strolling along they pass by the former residences of William Faulkner and Tennessee Williams; they stop for beignets and coffee at Café du Monde and end at the Old French Market, where they have previously visited. Oh Wolfie what an amazing day we have had learning about Creoles and Cajuns and their unique cuisines as well as the beautiful buildings of the New Orleans French Quarter! Congratulations to our friend, Velvet Knight #10732, our newest COTD. Today is another catpaign FREE day, who will we see in the winners box tomorrow?? It could be YOU!! Thanks go out to all my loyal friends who vote for me every day. It still isn't too late to come by to meet me if you haven't already! Have a good Thursday. Hi Jasamine and Family,
It is with such a sad and heavy heart for the loss of so many dear friends in such a short time that Maggie and I continue on my Catpaign trail. Please remember to keep everyone on CC in your prayers as you all are so very important and make the world a much better place. Today Wolfie and Maggie stroll through the French Quarter (Vieux Carre - meaning old square) which was founded in 1718 as the original settlement of this nearly 300 year-old city. They see unique architecture and lush, inviting courtyards as they stroll through the narrow streets, soaking up the charm and ambiance of America's most interesting city. They learn about French and Spanish rule and the Louisiana Purchase. They see the Cabildo, the home of the Spanish municipal government in New Orleans and the site of the Louisiana Purchase transfer ceremonies in 1803. The Saint Louis Cathedral, also known as the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France, which has the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating cathedral in the United States. The first church on the site was built in 1718. The third church, built in 1789, was raised to cathedral rank in 1793. While not the largest or grandest of the city's Catholic churches, this historic Cathedral is an important religious and social center, as well as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. On the site of three previous churches, the cathedral was expanded and largely rebuilt in 1850, so little of the 1789 structure remaines. Located next to Jackson Square and facing the Mississippi River, the St. Louis Cathedral is at the heart of New Orleans and is one of its most recognizable landmarks. It is often used as the backdrop for newscasts and political speeches featuring the city. Next is the Prebytere, originally called the Casa Curial (Ecclesiastical House), it derives its name from the fact that it was built on the site of the residence, or presbytere, of the Capuchin monks. While intended to house clergy, it was never used as a religious residence. It was designed in 1791 to match the Cabildo, or Town Hall, on the other side of St. Louis Cathedral. The second floor, however, was not completed until 1813. The building initially was used for commercial purposes until 1834 when it was used by the Louisiana Supreme Court. Flanked on either side are the stately and privately owned Pontalba Buildings, built by the Baroness Pontalba on land the Spanish crown had allowed her Father the notary Almonester to acquire. The buildings are row houses, thirty-two of them, sixteen to the side, each with three stories and an attic. If the outsides with their cast iron galleries are French and American, the floor plans are Creole. There are stores downstairs and doors leading to passageways instead of stair halls. At the end of the strange dark passageways, stairs curve gently to the second and third floors and the privacy of residences. Downstairs a walkway shelters customers. When the Pontalba Buildings were complete

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Mom slept late this morning so that means I am late getting my daily blog posted. My heart is breaking that my dear friend, Gypsy #114577, has gone to live in Paradise now. I know God has had the angels prepare her the grandest of places to live and she once again has a strong, youthful body. It is a comfort to know that such a wonderful angel will be watching over us all. Mom Lynn we are here for you. Please pray for my Maggie's Mom as she undergoes knee surgery this morning. It is good to have Mom and Dad home. Today Wolfie and the beautiful Maggie visit: The Shadows, built as the home of a sugar planter, is situated on the banks of the Bayou Teche in the heart of Cajun Louisiana. Four generations of the Weeks family lived at the Shadows from 1834 until 1958, when the property was given to the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) by the great-grandson of the builder. In the tradition of Southern plantations, this beautiful columned mansion is flanked by moss strewn trees and flowering azalea bushes. There is a rich collection of 17,000 family letters, photographs, and receipts preserved in trunks in the attic, provides this Southern plantation house with one of the best-documented tour experiences in the country. Maggie and Wolfie study the documentation marveling in the rich history these photos and documents provide to any interested in reading them. Later they stroll paw in paw beneath the beautiful, old moss strewn trees. Oh Wolfie, I so adore these plantation tours. Darling, I believe you were born to live in such elegance. Maggie smiles lovingly at her Wolfie. They then stroll down to the banks of the Bayou Teche….. Congratulations to our beautiful COTD, Princess #81924. Today is a catpaign free day...WOO HOO...whose face will we find in the box tomorrow!?!?! My catpaigning is coming to an end and I sincerely hope that you all have enjoyed touring my home state of Louisiana and I thank each and every one from the bottom of my heart for your continued support. Hi Jasamine and Family,
Todays tour is being made with heavy hearts. Our dear sweet friend, Darling Girl #126359 unexpectedly took a seizure after emergency surgery and crossed the bridge last night. Our sweet little Gypsy #114577 is barely hanging in there this morning. PLEASE keep Darling Girl's family in your prayers and Mom Lynn and Gypsy in your prayers as you go about your day. Wolfie and Maggie tour Port Hudson a small town in Louisiana located about 20 miles northeast of Baton Rouge. It is most famous for an American Civil War battle known as the Siege of Port Hudson. Port Hudson is located along the Mississippi River. The Siege of Port Hudson occurred from May 21 to July 9, 1863, when Union Army troops assaulted and then surrounded the Mississippi River town of Port Hudson, Louisiana, during the American Civil War. In cooperation with Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's offensive against Vicksburg, Mississippi, Union Maj. Gen. Nathaniel P. Banks's army moved against the Confederate stronghold at Port Hudson on the Mississippi River. On May 27, 1863, after their frontal assaults were repulsed, the Federals settled into a siege that lasted for 48 days. Banks renewed his assaults on June 14 but the defenders successfully repelled them. On July 9, 1863, after hearing of the fall of Vicksburg, the Confederate garrison of Port Hudson surrendered, opening the Mississippi River to Union navigation from its source to New Orleans. Wolfie, I had no idea so many areas of Louisiana were involved in battles! What a befitting tribute to sweet Darling Girl #126357 to be honored as our COTD today as she enters Paradise. Please be sure to take a moment to drop by and paw a vote for Princess #81924 in her quest for COTD. I know Mom hasn't had a lot of time to keep up on my blogging this past week so please forgive us and be sure to check the Catpaign and Mews Room each day for our latest tour if we haven't made it by your page. I appreciate your support and love each and every one of you!! Your friend forever, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Mom got more rest last night so perhaps today we will get back into the swing of blogging. Grandma is feeling much better since the angiogram but is getting nervous over the upcoming surgery. Mom is worried too. Wolfie and Maggie visit the opulent San Francisco Plantation House, which is a galleried house in the Creole manner that has been pictured in American, British, and Swedish periodicals as one of the major sites of the New Orleans area. Constructed between 1849-50, the San Francisco Plantation House is one of the most ornate of Louisiana's plantation houses. San Francisco, with its potpourri of architectural designs, its immense and ornate roof construction, and the paintings decorating the ceilings and door panels in the house's parlors, exemplifies the "steamboat Gothic" style. The exterior of the home resembles a layer cake, with a simple ground floor where brick columns support the gallery across the front and halfway back the sides. A double stairway leads from this gallery to the second floor gallery where fluted wood columns with cast-iron Corinthian capitals support an overhanging deck. The main living area is on the second floor instead of the ground level. The attic is a Victorian construction that gives the house a unique look with the hip roof pierced by tall dormers with diamond-paned, Tudor-arched windows. San Francisco's floor plan is unique as well, but the interior's primary significance lies in the fine murals attributed to Dominique Canova. The cost of San Francisco Plantation House, along with the paintings and other interior decorations, may have given rise to the house's name. One legend holds that the French phrase "son saint-frusquin," or "the shirt off his back," was a description of what the construction of the house cost its first owner, Edmond Marmillion. This became mistranslated into San Francisco. Another legend holds that the name celebrated the port of entry to northern California, then undergoing the gold rush of 1849. A further legend states that the name changed from Sans St. Frusquin to San Francisco when Achille D. Bougere purchased the plantation house in 1879. San Francisco was originally preserved by the efforts of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Thompson. The house is now owned by the San Francisco Plantation Foundation and has been restored to its former glory. Oh Wolfie, this plantation is fabulous. Wolfie agrees as they stroll along the garden paths looking up at the uniqueness of the glorious plantation. I can't say enough how much I appreciate each COTM vote. I have the BEST friends!! Please pray for my dear, dear friend, Gypsy 114577, she is very ill and her Mom Lynn is worn out, so please pray for her as well. Congratulations to Angels Pasha Pooh and Agatha too, our angel COTD this week!! Paw on by page #65177 and make PB Whitey the Father's Day COTD. Enjoy a fantastic Caturday! Love you, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
06/15 Blog. The connection seems to be going no faster today so please pass the word that it may be several days before many people hear from me. Mom is ready and waiting for Grandma to finish getting ready then they will make the hour drive to the hospital. Oh Wolfie I am so scared! No need to be Darling Maggie, I am here to protect you! New Orleans is known for it's unique cemeteries and burial customs. Our sweet couple starts out with a visit to the oldest cemetery which is St. Louis #1, opened in 1789. In a relatively small space, thousands of entombments have taken place over the centuries. This was accomplished through the unusual method of burial and re-use of tombs. Within the walls of this 200+ year-old cemetery rest some of New Orleans' most famous residents. Among them are the tombs of the famous Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau; Paul Morphy, the great chess genius; and Homer Plessy (of Plessy vs. Ferguson fame). They join a walking ghost tour of New Orleans! They walk through the dark and narrow streets of the French Quarter while the tour guide captivated them with tales of restless spirits. They explore the evil that lurks in the blackness, waiting to emerge and take hold of their imagination. Maggie holds tightly to Wolfie as tales of restless spirits that will stay with them forever are woven for their enjoyment. They are taken back in time through the narrow dark streets of the French Quarter, beneath the storied lace iron galleries where New Orleans' history unfolded in tragic tales of disease, disaster, and violence. As the tales are recounted Maggie and Wolfie come to know each ghost New Orleans has to offer. The guide is a master at weaving humor, history, ghosts, and vampires into this spellbinding fun tour. These guides have been featured on the Travel Channel, The Discovery Channel, BBC World Services, A and E, ABC, NBC, Southern Living Magazine and many more. Oh Wolfie, I had no idea being scared was so much fun! Wolfie laughs and gently hugs Maggie to his side. Congratulations go out to our beautiful Caser twin COTD, Bella #128978. If you can, your vote today for Snuggles #124534, would be very much appreciated. Once again, I would like to thank each and every one of my sweet, loyal friends that stop by each day to leave me a vote toward my COTM campaign, you are appreciated. May your Monday be the BEST just like you! Love you, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
06/14 Blog. Wolfie is walking on air this morning after his teams big win last night for the Scamper Cup. Maggie is so proud of him and his team and is happy she was there with him to view it all. Mom is going to New Orleans to deliver Avon then coming home and getting everything together to head on down to Grandma's. Even though Grandma says she doesn't need Mom to stay, Mom has NO INTENTION of leaving her alone!! Thank you all for your continued prayers. Mom said Grandma said what if I am like a kid and Mom told her that then she becomes her little girl like Great Grandma was her little girl. Continuing their journey Wolfie and Maggie visit yet another beautiful Louisiana Plantation located near New Orleans. Houmas House Plantation and Gardens. It is so much more than just a tour of a grand antebellum estate. They experience the southern splendor of "The Sugar Palace" when they step into 16 rooms filled with period antiques and Louisiana artwork. They spend all day at the Louisiana Plantation and enjoy 38 lush acres of gardens, ponds and a majestic live oak alley. You find Wolfie and Maggie relaxing with a refreshing mint julep, enjoying the breeze off the Mississippi and navigating through the shadows of ancient oaks. They embrace the Crown Jewel of Louisiana's River Road at their own pace and experience their hospitality as a welcomed guest. They look into one another’s eyes and Maggie sighs, this is the life! Your continued support of my COTM campaign is appreciated more than you could ever imagine. Congratulations to Meanie #105578, she is our COTD today. Hi Jasamine and Family,
The Scamper Cup Championship Game was TONIGHT!! Lots of kitties came to view the Rodent Rippers and the Kitty Avalanche square off in the final game to compete for the coveted Scamper Cup!! There was a free buffet for all so no one went hungry at the game. This was the last game until October when the new season will begin. And the winner is: THE RODENT RIPPERS, my team. We are so overjoyed!! Wolfie asks Maggie: “Did you know that one of the world’s best hot sauces is made right here in Louisiana?” “Would that be Tabasco Sauce, Wolfie?” “YES! You are so smart my Dear!” Wolfie hugs Maggie as they arrive at the home of world-famous TABASCO Sauce, Avery Island, Louisiana, which lies about 140 miles west of New Orleans. Surrounded by swamps and marshes, Avery Island is a mysteriously beautiful place where the pepper fields grow, the factory hums, and the McIlhennys and their employees continue to live and work much as they have for generations. As they tour the factory they see the process that goes into the making of this tasty sauce. They are given miniature bottles of the Tabasco Sauce as a souvenir of their tour. Avery Island is a natural paradise, inhabited by exotic plant and animal species from around the world. And under the Avery/McIlhenny family’s careful management, it has remained that way to this day. The 250-acre Jungle Gardens and Bird City host visitors from all over the world. In season, visitors to Avery Island can expect to see a variety of azaleas, camellias and bamboo, in addition to alligators, deer, and raccoons that live in the hills and marshes around the gardens. Wolfie and Maggie stroll paw in paw along a path covered by gnarled oaks laced with Spanish moss, and stand at the shrine that houses a centuries-old Buddha - a gift to Mr. Ned in 1936. And then they view the thousands of snowy egrets that nest in Bird City each spring. Oh Wolfie, what a fun day!! Congratulations to our new COTD, Angel Frankie "Chairman of the Board" Sinatra #107009. Meanie #105578 hopes to earn her COTD badge so go by today and paw her a vote. Each of you that come by to support my campaign to be COTM are the BEST furriends and I appreciate each and every one of you, in my book you all rank #1! Hope you all have a glorious Caturday. Love you, Wolfie #59175 PS Oh my God, Mom and I got the saddest news around 4:00 a.m. this morning, there are two new angels today, Angel Slinky #84259 lost fight with FIV and the shocker is one of my newest sweet friend, Lily Rose #127311 got harness caught in a bush and strangled at 10:55 p.m. last night. Hi Jasamine and Family,
Glad you like my stroller video. It is now Caturday and Mom is still doing Friday blogs! She got a very late start cause she was not home until almost 10 p.m. and then she fell asleep for an entire hour. I should fire her for sleeping on the job!! Grandma is feeling really bad and they told her today that if when they to the angiogram on Monday that they see that she needs stints that they will go ahead and do that do. Please continue praying for Grandma. Mom went shopping for me yesterday and got my gift for Dad for Father's Day. Mom got me treats and my favorit wet and dry food yesterday too! Today she will be delivering Avon and going to pick blueberries at her friend, Ms. Daisy's house. It is way too hot for me to go with her any more. She will have a really long day today what with blogging for me and doing all the other. Wolfie and Maggie excitedly arrive at Mardi Gras World, which is the most unique attraction in America’s most uniquely attractive city of New Orleans. It’s a world of wonders, created for you by the people who bring Mardi Gras to life every year—the artists of Blaine Kern Studios. The colors, the lights, the music, the joie de vivre. It’s all here in one magical place where Wolfie and Maggie peek behind the curtain and see Mardi Gras in the making. You haven’t truly experienced Carnival until you’ve explored Mardi Gras World. Since 1947, Blaine Kern Studios has been as much a part of Carnival as the parades New Orleans loves. In fact, they create most of those parades, from concept through completion. They are the world’s leading makers of floats, sculpture and props. Not only do you see the artistry of the Blaine Kern Studios in the New Orleans Mardi Gras parades but in Orlando’s Universal Studios, Japan’s Toho Park, Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and in parades in Antibes and other international cities. Their work is in theme parks, casinos and amusement parks around the globe. Maggie turns to Wolfie as they leave this wonderland and tells him she has a much higher regard to what actually goes on to put on the parades they have had and will host in the future. Congratulations to our newest COTD, Jordan #3106. Swing on over to page #107009 and paw your vote for Angel Frankie "Chairman of the Board" Sinatra so we will see his shiny new badge on Saturday morning. I just can't express my thanks enough to all my wonderful friends that stop by to vote for me, you all are the BEST and I am humbled to be your friend. Thank God it's FRIDAY!!! May sun and happiness be yours today!! Love you, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Mom found out yesterday that Grandma will be having an angiogram done on Monday because when she took a test at the doctors the other day, during the test she had severe, sharp chest pains. Mom is so worried, would you please keep Grandma in your prayers. Great-Grandma had an angiogram done in June, 1997 and came out of it with no memory and unable to take care of herself anymore and required around the clock care. She wasn't too many years older than Grandma is and she didn't have the heart problems that Grandma has. My team won last night so we actually get to play the final game for the Scamper Cup this Saturday, I am so excited!! If you can drop by the arena and join in with the fun. We have been asked how we enjoyed our stay at Madewood Plantation Maggie and I had such a lovely time at Madewood, we took long, leisurely walks around the grounds and drank mint juleps on the veranda and pretended we were grand plantation owners and having a big ball and we danced the night away. Continuing our tour of New Orleans Wolfie and Maggie visit the only building in America to have served both as a U.S. and Confederate Mint. The Old Mint was built in 1835 during the presidency of Andrew Jackson who had advocated for its establishment in order to help finance development of the nation's western frontier. Renowned architect William Strickland designed the building using the then-popular Greek Revival style. Minting commenced in 1838. In 1861, when Louisiana seceded from the union, state authorities seized the property and transferred it to the Confederate Army. For a short time it was used to mint Confederate currency and to house Confederate troops. This ended when New Orleans was occupied by federal forces. Following the Civil War, during the period of Reconstruction, minting of U.S. coins resumed. Minting operations ceased in 1909 and, for the next 57 years, the Mint served a variety of official purposes. In 1966 the landmark was transferred to the state and in 1981 opened to the public as a State Museum site. How very interesting the Mint is Wolfie!! Thank you for bringing me to tour it!! You are quite welcome my Dear. Please keep Basil #74374 and his family in your prayers. Basil crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday and will be sadly missed by all his friends here on CC. Congratulations to our newest COTD Luvbug #7393. Don't forget to run by page #3106 and drop off a vote for Jordan so he can earn his shiny new badge. Congratulations go out to my friends JoJo #125369 who was blessed yesterday with a YES when he asked the darling Emma Grace #115034 to be his bride! Thank you all for your continued support of my COTM campaign, each and every vote touches my heart and I know I have the most wonderful furriends any kitty could hope for. Hope you have a sunny, fun filled Thursday. Love you, Wolfie #59175

Hi Jasamine and Family,
Today the Rodent Rippers face off once again with the Kitty Avalanche in the race to the Scamper Cup. Please keep your paws crossed that the Rodent Rippers will come out ahead with a win to stay in the running. Come out and see the game at the arena on page #121409, at 8:00 p.m. EST. Yesterday when Mom took me outside I almost caught a dragonfly. I batted it with my paw, it flew right into my face, can you imagine such nerve!?!?!? Maggie and I will spend the day shopping at the historic French Market For over 200 years, the French Market has been an enduring symbol of pride and progress for the people of New Orleans. While the Market has existed on the same site since 1791, each new decade and governing flag has brought dramatic changes to the Market and helped to secure its special place in the hearts of the people of New Orleans. What began as a Native American trading post on the banks of the mighty, muddy Mississippi River on the site chosen for the City by the French, has become a cultural, commercial and entertainment treasure which the Crescent City proudly shares with the world. Today, America's oldest public market has assumed a leading role in the local economy as well, providing consistently increasing revenues for city government while putting millions of dollars back into the local economy. Time marches on, but the French Market is eternal. America's oldest and best loved public market writes it's own history every day. With each new sunrise on Decatur Street, history repeats itself as it has for over 200 years: always the same, yet impossible to predict. You can purchase vegetables, collectibles, books, music, purses, jewelry, toys, and just about anything you might be looking for. Maggie look at these beautiful beaded purses pick one out and I will get it for you. Those fresh veggies look really yummy. Let’s get a big basket for Mom Pat and Mom Linda and surprise them when we get home. Are you hungry? Let’s go grab a plate of beignets and drink some coffee au lait at the Café DuMonde before we head home. They laugh uncontrollably at one another as each get covered in powdered sugar as they enjoy their beignets. Congratulations to Kuira #40086 for being our COTD today. Please take a moment to run by page #7393 and paw a vote for Luvbug to be our COTD tomorrow. I just can't thank you all enough for all the campaigning for me and votes each and everyday!! You have a simply wonderful Wednesday. Love you, Wolfie #59175
