How We Met
We had lost her beloved name sake to epilepsy 3 months prior to moving into a new apartment. TOOee's mother showed up on my patio. She had had kittens the night we moved in on the neighbor's patio. The mother was a stray. I told the neighbor of my loss and told her I would tale 2 of them. At 5 weeks we became a family.UPDATE ON BLACKIE- BLACKIE IS NOW IN THE LAND OF THE RAINBOW BRIDGE 7;48 9-22-07.

Wow, I am party-pooped ...
... though I certainly enjoyed myself. Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday. I'm in recovery right now, gettin' a bit old. Mom found something online that tells us kitties how old we are in cat years vs people years. I am 13 years old which translates into 68 people years. Wow, no wonder I don't act like a kitten alllll the time, just part of it. Do you think I should apply for Social Security, or are my human parents all the security I need? Yep, it's them, isn't it? Thank you for coming to my party ...
... I had a wonderful time. The fuzzy pink helmet and goggles fit me perfectly. Taking them for a test ride later. So many CC friends stopped by and brought wonderful treats yesterday. We nibbled and giggled and just enjoyed being together for a while. Good thing birthdays only come once a year ... I'm worn out and Mom looks a bit frazzled. Must be getting old. ME. I must be getting old. Mom will never be old. I so appreciate my furry friends helping me to celebrate becoming a teen. for the wonderful paw massage! It feels much better now. I've hurt this same paw before, a couple years ago. And mom actually made me go to the vet cuz she was scared it was broken. They said it was probably just sprained. So this time mom said if it wasn't better in a couple days I'd have to go back to the vet, I made sure it was better! One good thing though, mom spoils me even more than usual when I'm hurt....I've got it pretty good!!! Thank you so much for voting me COTD and coming by to congratulate me.. We have to keep the party low key though, it is Ash Wednesday. But we are saving all my special treats for thursday. Mom had to work today but we celebrated without her. Tabitha did this amazing pirouette while her tail was chasing her. She always tries to be the life of a party!!! MOL!! We made our own confetti with newspaper and female stuff out of the bathroom cabinet. It was a wonderful time. MOM didn't even get mad. She just wanted to know if we had fun! We all meowed loud that we did!! Thank you all for all the great treats we ate a few but saving some for later too. I have enjoyed my day Thank you all!!! Gabby's Wednesday Wisdom!
My friends, I am not feeling well today. Mom awoke to find me unsteady and unwilling to eat—a behavior that makes Mom very worried, especially when she found I didn’t quite make the litter box when I had to pee. She knows me so well by now that she’s certain I have a urinary tract infection and started antibiotics immediately. I just made Mom very happy by eating some tuna, and she’s hoping the antibiotics will kick in and I’ll pull off another recovery. Since we can’t speak human, our Moms and Dads must rely on other signs to let them know we don’t feel well. From the pages of our very own Cat Channel in an article written by Marty Becker, DVM, and Janice Willard, DVM, here are some things our humans can watch for to see if we are sick-- “If your cat was healthy and now is not, look for a change from what your cat was doing before: a change in activity, appetite, weight, behavior, type or frequency of toileting, resting time, interactions with you, coat, breathing rate, movement, the sound of its voice or breathing or even a different smell. If you suspect that your pet is sick, ask yourself, What am I noticing now that I didn't notice before?” Mom said it’s a very informative article, so if your Moms and Dads want to check out the entire article, look for the article “Is Your Cat Sick?” here at Cat Channel. Mom and I would appreciate your prayers today. I will update everyone tomorrow. Tuesday Greetings From Gabby
Continuing my stroll along memory lane and thinking back upon my kittenhood, I recall the teething process—that time when I lost my baby teeth and got my big girl teeth! As with most kittens, this happened when I was between a few weeks old and six to eight months of age. I remember my gums being quite sore. Mom read that solid rubber toys can be used as teething rings for kittens wanting to chew everything in sight. This is a good time to start a program of dental hygiene. A brushing routine starting during the teething process will help kittens become accustomed to a lifetime of good dental care! Mom says this is one of those “do as I say, not as I do” suggestions, as she hasn’t been very good at remembering to brush our teeth. But, I guess she must have done something right, as I still have all my teeth at 21+ years of age! Wishing you a terrific Tuesday. Just want to say a big thank you to Nappy for keeping everyone updated with info about kitties who need our special prayers and those celebrating special events in their lives. I'm baaaackkk! It's me Benji!!! I'm so happy I didn't start out on the wrong paw with you coming out and saying how pretty you are. I wouldn't want to say the wrong thing. Being an outdoor cat, I'm probably not as sophisticated as the indoor guys you know. I was abandoned when I was little and I was lucky to find mom a couple years later. Before her, there was another nice lady who fed me, but I was chased away by a bigger, meaner tom cat. Than I found mom and I've been here ever since. She takes good care of me, and spoils me, so I love her very much! Now, to push my luck...do you have a boyfriend? Ehem...*blush*...Tooee, may I say you are a very pretty girl? You really are! Thank mew fur coming by...I really need some friends, and you guys seem so nice. Everpawdy I've met on here so far is very nice. How different from out here. I get into alot of fights, protecting my home. But I don't want any other cats coming around trying to take my home from me. Mommy says that'll never happen, I was here first and she loves me, and won't let any other strays or ferals run me off. Disappearing act: we just checked Elspeth's page #24064 and see he hasn't been logged on for 69 days. Does anyone know if Elspeth is okay? We are worried and hope to hear from him soon. As your Captain, I know I am not setting a good example by missing so many MHL games, but believe me, my heart is with you at all our games even if I am not blogging then. Since we can't make it to the rink for a couple more weeks, we asked Capt. Sweetie Pie if we could help out by reminding team members when we have games. So that is our new job.
