How We Met
I wanted to get my other cat at the time a friend. I went to the local cat rescuer and just played with all the cats. Then I came back with my husband, and PK just kept coming up to us. It turns out she was born on our wedding day. It was meant to be.

Wow! We were certainly not expecting to see Mynx on the front of the Cat Channel page today! We are all so very overwhelmed and excited for him! It has been hard lately and so very painful to see a kitty that once ate everything and anything slowly dwindling and refusing the things he used to beg for. He refuses both his K/D food and his usual food, and so we have taken to making him table food such as chicken livers to try and fight the anemia so that he might survive the surgery. We lost our precious Ambrose (who we had gotten through the double whammy of hypothyroidism and diabetes) to cancer early this year before we came to CC; he did not survive his surgery. And you all know of the recent loss of our Manie, who we knew was going to leave us soon, though that knowledge made the loss no less painful. And now to find that our darling Mynxy might soon be joining his best friend Manie is a terrible, cruel thing. I see him lying near Manie’s ashes, and it is hard to have hope for him, but we aren’t going to give up just yet. I am fighting the urge to give in to self-pity though, and I have the continual urge to scream, “It’s not fair!” But then I read the kind comments left by you all, and I notice that there are many of you who have lost several cats within a short time, and I realize that you all too must have felt the same way; it is comforting to know that we are not alone in our sorrow or in our heartbreak at these times, and both the stories of loss and of survival give me the courage to keep trying and hoping. Mynx will go in for his surgery at the end of the week if he can hold out that long-—perhaps sooner if not. I will keep you all posted as I can. Thanks again to all my wonderful friends for my COTD award.Wow, what a whirlwind day it has been. Dad cooked swordfish steaks for dinner and us kitties got to eat at the table! Nemo and I shared a chair. We even had a plate and placemat. Mom says that we were surprisingly neat, too! Someone still needs to pinch me, cause this seems like it must be some kind of really great dream. Mom left the confetti all over the house and let me play in a new crackle tunnel that she was saving to give us for Christmas. She also let us pounce Catnip bubbles all over the house all day. I didn't mind sharing all my fun with Nemo since someday he'll return the favor, I hope. Thanks to all of my friends, both old and new for so many wonderful and thoughtful gifts. I truly feel so loved. I'm still dancing all over the house. Everyone has been so nice and I have also made so many new friends who cared enough to wish me well today. What a lovely honor. Hi! Thank you so much for congratulating me on COD! It was such a big surprise when mom tuarned on the computer....and there I was! Mom is still not happy with the way I am eating, and is force-feeding me. I do eat, sometimes, though. Mom is very happy with the way I am interacting with my siblings, though. I have come out from behind the couch ande laid with them, and at times plaayed briefly with them. I am just checking things out in my time! The very best news is that this is going to be my forever home. My moms talked about it on Monday nite and decided that they couldn`t make me go somewhere else and feel abandoned, again! So I have a permanant home, and I was named COD in 2 days! Isn`t that great. This morning mom was all excited because I was rubbing up against her and purring. It doesn`t take much to make her happy! We had so many friends stop by to wish us congratulations, that was the most wonderful part of all. Oh my, Mom was so excited when she signed on this morning and saw that I made COD already, I just came home Friday evening! I am adjusting to my new home and most the other kitties are getting along with me, Spuddy Buddy (NOAH) even played with me today. Jasmine is still hissing and swatting at me, I think she thinks I took her place a the baby girl. Hopefully everyone will be use to me in another couple of days, if they hiss and growl at me I just look at them kinda funny! Sink Fun

Christmas Cards and More
Reina and I paw-signed the last Christmas cards to be sent yesterday. My Mom puts a very red lipstick on our right paws and then we stamp the cards. She is gentle about it, so it doesn't really bother us that much. She does it so fast, we paw-sign 10 cards at a time; then we take a snack break and do 10 more. I go first, and then Reina does hers. Silly huh! But our human aunts, uncles, and cousins are always amused and happy to get our personalized cards. Last Christmas, our human grandma in Wisconsin sent us a soft rounded rug with Reina's and my picture all over it. That was thoughtful. And how have you been?
