Hi! My name is Abigail-Rose Lea
I am Domestic Mediumhair from Moscow, VT
Nicknames: Abs; Abbers; Abba-dabba-doo; Abberdeenie; Abbadoozles; Miss Abigail-Rose with the Pink-Rose-Bud Nose OR: Miss Abigail-Rose with the Dirt up Her Nose.... depending on the day; The Foot-Leaf Lady (she has a black spot on her left foot in the exact shape of a leaf.
Age: 8 years old
Gender: F
Coat: long haired
Education: When I get bored with our 50+ toys, I've learned to move glasses to the end of counters, then knock them off & watch them fall. It sounds cool, and I get to supervise Mom when she picks them up... the pieces, that is. I think she enjoys it, coz she always says, "Thanks a LOT, Abbie!". Also, I taught Hazel how to jump on the counter, then fridge, then to the top of the cupboards. Mom seemed really impressed... she even said, "Oh, great, Abbie! You know, Hazel never did that until you joined the family!".... so, I think that's pretty neat! I also figured out that, if a picture is hanging a bit off-center, one sure way to get my Mom to re-hang it right, is to get it swinging pretty good & bounce it at the same time, until it falls off the wall. This always guarantees correct replacement, well... except for a couple that had glass in them, but that only happened during practice, and now they don't have glass any more, so it's okay.
My favorite tricks and treats are: Hmmm.. I don't think of them as tricks, more of self entertainment, but I guess the aforementioned rocking pictures off the wall could count, or perhaps the time I was trying to get high enough to catch a bug on the ceiling, by using the wall clock that's by the TV armoire... I only meant to lean on it, but ended up hanging off the front of it by my paws... rather embarassing, really... I had to be rescued by Mom, who said she'd seen something like it on a card once. It made me feel better to know I wasn't alone! So, you asked about treats, too and I'd have to say... cat nip! That stuff is GOOOOOD! Mom gets it at the health food store.. much better than the sticks & twigs from the grocery store! ^. .^
Where I hang out: I prefer observational hang outs. I am a studier of things, so the higher the viewpoint, the better, in my book. I like the top of the cupboards, the top of the TV armoire, and even the top of the curio cabinet, though that one requires a difficult jumping angle. I enjoy watching other creatures by making use of the window seat in the dining area occasionally.
My favorite grubs: I'm definitely not very choosy there! I do love to eat! I especially like fresh chicken, and tuna.
My pet peeves: Having to wait until my siblings walk away from their dishes, before I get the leftovers (Mom thinks that the black, leaf-shaped mark on my foot, is actually a "black hole").
What I love about my owners: I love that she & I were kindred spirits from the time I was 3 weeks old, and that she never forgot me, even though I went away for 5 weeks. I love that she put a bed on top of the armoire, so that my nap times up there are much more comfy. I'm glad she didn't give up fighting to get Percy, coz I love him, and we play all the time... (Thanks, Mom, I love you! ~ Abs)
My cat hobbies: Wrestling with my siblings; eating; getting up on really high places; knocking pictures of the wall, and glasses & things off counters/tables- .
Pet motto: "Life will never be boring, if you just create your own fun!"

How We Met
I met Abigail-Rose when she was 3 wks.old. I stopped by the shelter for a sec., & heard tiny mews. 3 tiny kits, 2M, 1F. The 2M seemed to act as you'd expect, at that age, but the little female had a surprisingly aware look of "What's this place? Where am I going?" When I picked her up, in turn, she turned her inquiring, worried look to me, studied me at length and, after deciding that whatever she was scanning for was "alright" with me, heaved a sigh, curled up against my chest, & slept for over 2 hours. I remember saying to a lolling tiny face "If you were mine, I'd call you 'Rose'.", because her nose was like a bright pink rosebud. When the foster folks came to get them, she cried when she was taken from me & put in the carrier. I was trying to think of the separation positively- it would give me 5 wks. to let the feeling fade, she'd be 8 wks. then, not this tiny 3 wk. old, etc.., Well, I thought of her every day, and recognized her the second she came back. I knew I wanted to be her Mom always. I named her Abigail-Rose, because I thanked God for the joy he brought me through her, so her name means: "God is Joy- Rose". She's still a very smart & highly perceptive girl who studies the faces of people, and is sensitive to the vibes of whatever's going on around her.
