In loving memory Fluffy, like her blog says, followed my brother and me home one day soon after we and our family moved into a new place in the country. We did do a bit of encouraging, but we didn't need to do a lot. She didn't seem to have any other owner, so we adopted her. She was mostly considered my brother's cat. As the years passed, she stayed on that property even though trouble in the family came and went, and most of us moved out, except my dad. Eventually the property was given to me, and for a while my dad acted on my behalf as far as the property went, since I was under 18 at the time. For a while the property was rented, but that only lasted a while, then I moved back into the house, along with the dog I had adopted a while before, and my dad lived in his camper and still had his workshop and whatnot in the poll barn. Fluffy then became my kitty, and I started taking care of her. For a few years it lasted. My dog ended up getting really sick and passing on, but a year later I adopted another who wasn't a substitute, but still a loving companion even though Fluffy didn't care much for her very forward attitude. Then I continued my college education for a year, and spent that year in the dorms. My dad took care of her when he saw her, but it wasn't too often, since Fluffy seemed to prefer living in the woods while I was away. When I came back on breaks, she was right there to cuddle up and get some loving, or sleep on top of me during the night. After that first year, I sold the property to my in-laws soon before my wedding. After I got married, my husband and I moved to an apartment in the city for the summer, and my mom was living on the property for a while, taking care of the pets for me. When summer ended, my husband and I moved back to the city where we went to college. He continued college and I stayed home and worked. Fluffy had to stay on the country property, since where we were moving to didn't accept pets (the dog ended up getting a new home, from what I hear with a loving family with a little girl), and Fluffy was also a country kitty that needed to wander, and in the city that would have been REALLY bad, especially in the frigid, snowy winters. All in all, she would have been REALLY unhappy, and she was content where she was. Now my sister-in-law and her family are living on the property and have made drastic improvements to the place, but they never saw anything of Fluffy. Once my mother-in-law said she thought she saw her, and Fluffy was keeping company with another cat. I don't really know where Fluffy is or if she's still alive. But I still love and miss her, and wanted to make a little blog in her memory. So wherever you are Fluffy. I hope you're happy and can catch all the mice you want. :)Come visit me, Dustin & Fluffy - in loving memory.
