I don't know if your Daddy knows that Hawaii has made bringing pets in to the Islands much easier. When my mommy's family brought their dog back from the mainland; they had to keep her in quarantine for MONTHS! They now have a policy where you can actually pick your pet up at the airport the SAME DAY you land! There is a lot of paperwork and planning involved; but it is much better than the old system. You are right about good and bad in all peoples. The only thing that saved my mommy in Jr High was one of her good friends WAS Samoan and she save my mommy from being beaten up several times. There are many things that she misses about Hawaii, but it has just changed so much since she was a kid; she says she doesn't want to go back, but to remember it before it became really built up. My mommy was born in Hawaii and left in the middle of her freshman year in high school to move to Arizona with her mommy. Her parents split up, sad times... She was suppose to go to Aiea High School, but because she is Haole and the Samoan Titas hated her; one had threatened to shove a fork down her throat just because she sat next to her on the bus; and there were no other seats. Her parents thought she would be safer in a private school. So she went to Our Redeemer downtown for the fist semester of her freshman year, then moved to Arizona; major culture shock... Her older sisters graduated from Punahoe and Aiea High. Her Dad still lives there, a block from Ala Moana. She hasn’t been back in 18 years! Too expensive… However her living room is decorated with tapa cloth, palm trees and tikis. You can’t take the islands out of the girl.Come visit me, Empress Matilda Mayhem.

I have guessed that your family is from "the Islands;" so is my mommy. She grew up in Aiea on Oahu. She says that I am "Pilikia Keiki" (Trouble Child). Where is your family from.
