About Me
Active within 1 Day
Hi! My name is Angel Sweetie Pie - In Loving Memory OFFLINE
I am Domestic Longhair from Casa Grande, AZ
Nicknames: Tweeters, Tweetsie
Age: 14 years old
Gender: M
Coat: long haired
Education: Standing on his hind legs and begging and his intense curiosity, which sometimes got him in trouble with the neighbors before I was able to catch and adopt him. Also, he was ACOTD on 12/10/2012, COTD on 12/10/2011 and 09/18/2008, ACROTD on 12/11/2012, and CROTD on 09/14/2011.
My favorite tricks and treats are: Standing on my hind legs and begging. and Wet food.
Where I hang out: I like to sit at the window and look at the birds and sunbathe.
My favorite grubs: I like almost anything, especially wet food, though.
My pet peeves: I hate it when my brothers and sisters tease me and chase me. Of course, it's totally different when I chase them.
What I love about my owners: She loves me and holds really interesting conversations with me.
My cat hobbies: I love watching the birds out the window. Mom feeds the birds outside, so they hang around - it's great. I also love holding a conversation with my human - she really listens to me.
Pet motto: Life is great, life is fun, look out world, here I come!

How We Met
He was a feral cat along with his wife, Darling Girl. I spent 4 months feeding him outside, talking to him, and trying to catch him in a humane trap we purchased. He wouldn't go in the trap, no matter what good food I put in it. Later, I found out that a neighbor had caught him in a similar trap (he was trying to catch rabbits) and released him twice, and I guess that is why he wouldn't go in the trap for me. His intense curiosity is how I caught him. He was curious about everything. One day we had left the car door open, and he went in to explore. When I saw him in there, I quickly closed the door. My sister was able to take a cat carrier in the car and then close the door again. Despite his snarling, drooling and growling, she was able to get him in the carrier without being bitten. I guess all those months of talking to him and spending time with him outside paid off. We had him and his wife for several years. The vet estimated that they were between 2 and 3 years old when we adopted them. He was the best, sweetest cat ever. Sweetie Pie passed away the day before Thanksgiving, 11/21/2012. He had recently had a severe downturn in his health due to diagnosed kidney failure, and he passed away quietly in his sleep. I miss him so very much. He is buried beside his wife, Angel Darling Girl, under an orange tree which gets the warm sun during the day and starlight at night.

Oahu ... Lovely Hawaiian ladies place leis on our necks as we disembark in Honolulu. These are a special gift of aloha - welcome, and love. The ladies receive those made of white ginger or jasmine … our choice. I love jasmine; my choice is simple. Oh, the beautiful fragrance. No wonder everyone wants one of these when in Hawaii. For the men, there are leis of kukui nuts. With our shirts and dresses from Hilo Hatties, we are ready to explore the final island of our Hawaiian adventure. Here, Hawaii’s timeless beauty blends with the modern luxuries of today. We can swim in the warm waters of world-famous Waikiki one moment, then enjoy the dramatic mountain views of the Nuuanu Pali Lookout another; watch the surfers on the legendary North Shore by day, then dance the night away in vibrant nightlife spots around Honolulu; get a taste of local flavors in Kapahulu one night, then dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant the next. Our first visit is to 350 acre Diamond Head crater, one of the best-known volcanic craters in the world, whose vantage point offers some incredible panoramas of Honolulu. We choose to start early to avoid the heat of the sun. Diamond Head State Monument encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater. This broad, saucer-shaped crater was formed about 300,000 years ago during a single, explosive eruption that sent ash and fine particles in the air. As these materials settled, they cemented together into a rock called tuff. The panoramic views of Waikiki and Oahu's south shore from the top are impressive. We will have many gorgeous photos for our memory books. We learn the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater's slopes. These "diamonds" were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value. The volcanic crater, a major Oahu landmark, has been extinct for 150,000 years. Next we travel to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the US. It was the official residence of King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, the last king and queen to rule Hawaii; the monarchy was abolished in 1893. We take the guided tour, which leaves us thinking our own Castle on CC is just as impressive and much more inviting to fun-loving kitties. Time for an island luau dinner and then to bed as tomorrow we head to Pearl Harbor. See pics of Diamond Head and the palace on my page.Come visit me, Q. Cherish - COTM March 2012.

hi Angel Sweetie Pie Please vote Rosie #252822 for COTD on Monday, 5/20 Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. Please visit Rosie #252822 on Monday, 5/20, and leave a vote for her so she can proudly have her own shiny COTD badge. While making the rounds of visits on the CC, please go visit our May catpaigner for COTM, Whiskers #227256, and give his votey button a good whack so he can add your vote to his collection to become our King of June.. Also, please visit our Queen of May, Queen Spunky #161265, and letting her know we are all thinking of her and her family.Come visit me, Angel Oscar - I love Angel Cloudy, Finster - I am engaged to Destiny 62594, Nosey -- I Love Orzo & Biscuit is my guy, Sweet Jake - Loving Memory- I will always love you, Angel Lucky - I love Angel Shadow, Angel Rhuby-I love Sir Leo- Welcome Angel Sparky, Q Linguini-I love A. Molokai Serene seascapes, unspoiled coastlines, untamed wilderness. We visit Molokai & travel back to a timeless place. This is an island that stays true to its Hawaiian traditions - tucked away from the hustle of the outside world; where no building is taller than a coconut tree; there’s no traffic & no traffic lights; where you can feel the power of Hawaiian culture from an area near Maunaloa, said to be the birthplace of hula, to the natural wonders of Halawa Valley. Molokai is only 38 miles long and 10 miles across at its widest point. It is a friendly & family-oriented island that has deep connections with its Hawaiian ancestors. Unlike the visitor industry on the larger Hawaiian Islands, Molokai has preserved its true Hawaiian culture. More than one third of this island's residents have over 50% Hawaiian blood. Molokai residents farm, fish, hunt & gather many of their basic needs & they enjoy this lifestyle. Here we need to slow down, be less demanding, & respect the Molokai way of life. Molokai is the real deal. We are visiting the true Hawaii. We will enjoy & respect Molokai & her people. Lining the northeast coast are the towering cliffs of the North Shore Pali. At 3,600 to 3,900 feet from sea base to top, they are the tallest sea cliffs in the world; their near-vertical plunge ends 2000 feet below sea level. We step cautiously to the edge to peek over. Whoa, that’s a drop! Later in the day, we do some ocean kayaking along the face of the cliffs; this is amazing beyond belief! We also discover secret, secluded beaches, sea birds, & cascading waterfalls which provide incredible, photogenic scenery We then hike into the East End’s classic cathedral valley to see Hawaii back in time. It is believed ancient Polynesians settled in lush Halawa Valley as early as 650 AD. This area, half a mile wide and three to four miles deep, and blessed with beautiful vistas and towering waterfalls, is one of the island's most historic areas. Roughly two miles up the trail is the impressive, double-tiered 250-foot Moa’ula Falls. If you’re considering taking a dip into the pool, drop a ti leaf into the water first. Hawaiian legend says that a giant moo (lizard) lives at the bottom of the pool. If the ti leaf sinks, the moo is in no mood for visitors. If the ti leaf floats, it’s safe to enter. Our ti leaves are forming a veritable flotilla, and we slip gratefully into the refreshing pool. Soon we are splashing and playing like … well, kitties. We have been invited to a luau by the residents of a small village near Maunaloa, birthplace of the hulu. After dining on succulent roast pig, and all the tasty side dishes, we are given grass skirts to put on for a hula lesson. Soon we are dancing and telling the stories of the island, looking almost like natives. Tomorrow we will head for the island of Oahu, where our Hawaiian adventure will eventually finish.Come visit me, Q. Cherish - COTM March 2012.

PLEASE VOTE KAYLIN #251700 for COTD MAY 6th Please paw by & meet this beautiful Champagne Point Tonkinese kitty. KAYLIN #251700 is not just a beautiful face she is also a CFA Champion & a Mom. She was hand picked for her new parents by her sister Wendy's breeder when she found out how sick Wendy was. But this sweet girl was already a mom so her new parents had to wait to bring her home. All of her kitties found their furever homes & then she had her Big Girl surgery. She was finally able to come to her new home in January. She wasn't sure if she wanted to stay at first, but her new parents gave her lots of love & support so we are happy to report she is settling in quite nicely. KAYLIN #251700 spends her days hanging out on Mom & Dads laps, playing with her toys, & napping in the sun. She also likes to tear through the apartment at top speed and has been known to do it in the middle of the night too. Her most favorite things to eat are the Roast Chicken that she shares with her parents, and her Blue food. She Loves to make new friends so won't you please stop and give KAYLIN #251700 your vote and make a new friend. We give our Heartfelt Thanks To Queen Trixie #172636 who brought us a magnificent two months of wonderful animal stories, fun and zoo adventures as our April Queen. We congratulate Queen Spunky #161265 and invite you to visit her at the castle during the month of May. Vote COTD 4/29 COLT, WINCHESTER & KIMBER #251320 This week’s special recognition candidates were found on the side of a road near a wooded area when they were barely old enough to fend for themselves. Their guardian angel was working hard that day & led their new mom to the right spot where she picked up the three mewing furballs & took them home. These precious sibs have stolen the hearts of many CC members by mom’s picture postings on FB & it’s pawsome being able to watch them grow up here in our loving community. Colt and Winchester love to talk to calm Kimber down because she’s very shy, unlike her more outgoing sibs. They love to play with their mouse toys & frequently pick on their bigger sibs throughout the day to see how much they can get away with. You can often find this rambunctious trio of young felines looking out of the window talking to birds, or playing with their light up ball. They’re snugglers too! They’re often found in the lap of mom or grandpa or you can see them snuggling happily together in their kitty bed. The inseparable trio of COLT,WINCHESTER & KIMBER#251320, are also keeping the house hopping with their energy level so let’s help them bounce off the walls a little more by pouncing by to paw them a COTD vote today, Monday April 29th, so they can earn their very first badge of honor tomorrow! Only two days left for SPUNKY #161265 out on the COTM catpaign trail so please pounce by to paw your votes of support to this beautiful show girl so she can twist through the community next month wearing the crown of May as our Emerald Queen! While you’re pouncing around please remember to leap through the northern Indiana woods to visit our current COTM Queen Trixie #172636 aka the Calico Cyclone, & thank her for the animal tales she spun for us before she turns over the royal reins to future Queen Spunky aka the White Tornado. This is Zaboo/NICE Crew, Sabrina, Duchess & family leaving you a triple berry muffin as our way of thanking you for your support of our fine candidates. Have a pawsome week everyone!Come visit me, ~*~Sabrina ~*~.

hi Angel Sweetie Pie Please vote Cassandra #205806 for COTD on Monday 4/15 The CMR crew is pleased to introduce to you another Special Recognition Cat: Cassandra #205806 for COTD. We are pawing and pouncing over to ask you to please vote for Cassandra for COTD on Monday, 4/15 (otherwise known as Tax Day in the human's world). Cassandra's full name is Cassandra Lee Brown, which to us sounds like a good name. She was named Cassandra after a book her mommy read about a beautiful lady who had golden green eyes and long black hair. Yes, we would say this suits Cassandra #205806 to a "t". Cassandra also is a princess around her home. She is pampered and loves attention especially from her human daddy. Cassandra #205806 is dainty and little, weighing in at only six pounds and is the twin to her brother Montgomery George Brown. They were lucky kitties and both were adopted together into their forever home. When the mood strikes her, Cassandra #205806 can hide in the smallest of places and will close the cupboard door behind her leaving it almost impossible to locate her. Cassandra likes hamburgers from Burger King, cheese and hot dogs. She hates being interrupted from her naps and being ignored by her daddy. Please paw over to visit this sweetheart of a cat, Cassandra #205806 and leave a vote for her so she can proudly display a COTD badge to all who visit her. While you are on the CC, please paw a vote for our newest campaigner for COTM, Spunky #161265 who is introducing us all to her adventures and advise about cat shows and the expectations from the cats and the judges. Please continue to visit our COTM, Queen Trixie #172636 who is continuing to lead us on zoo tours across the world and keeping us informed of the plight of endangered animals. This is Sienna and family along with Linguini and family leaving you fresh roasted spring lamb with lots of catnip sauce and homemade oatmeal cookies for desert, thanking you all for continuing to support our candidates for COTD. Sending purrs and wishing you and your families peace and good health.Come visit me, Angel Oscar - I love Angel Cloudy, Finster - I am engaged to Destiny 62594, Nosey -- I Love Orzo & Biscuit is my guy, Sweet Jake - Loving Memory- I will always love you, Angel Lucky - I love Angel Shadow, Angel Rhuby-I love Sir Leo- Welcome Angel Sparky, Q Linguini-I love A. Please vote for Dixie 230112 Monday April 8 Cute as a button Dixie was dropped off at her future home where she now happily resides with her humans and fursiblings. She has learned how to love from them and quite often you can find her hanging out on her mom or grandmom's lap. She doesn't have any pet peeves but she loves jumping into open drawers. Isn't that a great trick? Her motto is an important one: "Spay and neuter your pets." I couldn't agree more. Please paw on by her page 230112 and leave her a vote for her very own COTD badge. And while you are in a voting mood, don't forget our current COTM candidate, the adorable Miss Spunky 161215. I know both will appreciate your visit. Thanking you with purrs of catitude. Love, Sabrina and Sylvester & Sibs for the Catpaign & Mews Room page.Come visit me, ~*~Sabrina ~*~.

VOTE WINDY POINT ANGELS # 237234 COTD 4/5 As many of you know, 17 year old Minnie D Purrl crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 4/2. Minnie was a member of a wonderful family of cats known as the Windy Point Gang. We’re choosing to copy Dad Mike’s exact words that he used to tell us she had crossed-- “She was losing her battle with Hyperthyroidism and her quality of life had decreased dramatically over the last five days. This afternoon Minnie was assisted by our vet, Dr Madsen and myself on her journey. She was 17 years old when she passed. It is particularly sad for me because Minnie had given me a litter of seven Easter Kitties when she was only 9 months old. I always celebrated Mother's Day with her on Easter. (Sigh...) This year we celebrated with some baby food that I held for her since she was too weak to stand and eat. Minnie leaves behind her boyfriend Tiger Mann, who is the last of the original Windy Pointers...and of course, her sad Dad.” Minnie is now a member of the Windy Point Angels #237234, those members of the Windy Point Gang who are now Angels at the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that this special group of Angels has never received their COTD badge, and we want to change that by making them our COTD winner on 4/6. Please stop by on Friday and leave some words of comfort for Dad Mike and pounce on that vote button to show your support. Please Vote Neelix (245612) * COTD * Mon. March 25 Neelix is a very handsome seven year old tabby who was rescued along with his brother when he was a tiny kitten abandoned in a parking lot. Since that tiny kitten was adopted by his loving pawrents he has trained them to be excellent staff for himself and his brothers. Regarding his brothers, Hedley and Jakar, the three of them comprise the famous (or perhaps infamous) “pawty animals”. These boys are always the life of any party, they create lots of fun at every MHL Mouse Hockey Game, and they are always the first to lend a paw on any project that benefits the CC community. They’re always there to offer comfort to the sad, good thoughts and healing wishes to the sick and congratulations to those who are celebrating. Neelix and his family always support the COTD and COTM candidates. They are a credit to the CC community! Neelix is an outstanding member of our CC family, and since both of his brothers already have their very own COTD badges, it seems that it is time for Neelix to have one of his own. Won’t you please drop by and give this handsome guy a vote, on Monday so he can have the badge he so much deserves. Just a reminder, please keep those COTM votes rolling for Trixie (172636) so this Beautiful and talented Kitty, can wear the March COTM crown as our Queen. Remember to let her know how much fun it’s been sharing her wonderful blogs about Zoos, amazing heroic animals and unusual animal pals. Also, please remember to stop in to visit our current COTM, Queen Josie Mae (193862), Please be sure to let her know much we appreciated her homespun hillbilly wisdom, on superstitions and first aid, but especially let her know how much we appreciate her great kindness and empathy for those who are ill, or in mourning. Finally, on behalf of the whole CMR team, this is Pete and the Girls, and Princess and Sib's, thanking you for your continued support of the CMR’s special recognition COTD campaigns & our remarkable COTM candidates.Come visit me, Q Trixie~Hail to Queen Spunky#161265~, Fluffinella-PLZ vote Whiskers #227256 COTM, Joseph-PLZ vote WHISKERS #227256 daily in May!, Angel Sherman, K Zaboo-PLZ vote Whiskers #227256 for COTM !, Angel Cloudy loves Angel Oscar, Special Memories page & Patches~PLZ vote WHISKERS #227256 daily in May~.

hi Angel Sweetie Pie Please vote Percy #245206 for COTD on Monday, 3/18 We are please to introduce this week's Special Recognition Candidate, Percy #245206. Percy came to be at her forever home due to the kindness of a neighbor. The neighbor took in Percy's mom cat and once her litter was born, the human daughter's at her forever home fell in love with her. Percy #245206 stood out because of her wonderful personality. Percy is a prima donna kitty until it is playtime; then watch out! Percy #245206 loves to play with her sibling, Simba, and she enjoys ambushing him. They have a grand time together playing with their toys and each other. Percy is also a talker. She loves to have a conversation and even comes when her name is called. That is smart since a treat may be involved if your name is being called, and Percy #245206 enjoys Temptation treats. She gets a little upset, though, if she is expecting a treat and she is ignored. Percy #245206 can use her paws like furry hands and manages to open things. Percy likes to sit on the back of the recliner and watch her family as she relaxes and observes what is going on. Please stop over to Percy's page #245206 on Monday, March 18th and leave a vote for this bright and happy cat. Percy would be thrilled to have her very own COTD badge to proudly display on her page and make her family proud. Don't forget to visit our Calico cyclone of furriness, Trixie #172636, our COTM candidate for April and leave her a vote for her collection. Trixie is telling us some stories about heroic animals and they are inspiring and amazing tales. Also while you are visiting the CC, please say hello to our March COTM, Queen Josie Mae #193682, who is continuing to enlighten us about the hill billy way of life. There are some interesting things to learn and Queen Josie Mae is happy to explain them. Thank you for supporting our Special Recognition candidates each week and thank you for being on the CC. In honor of St Patrick's Day just past, we are leaving you a big cauldron of corned beef, boiled potatoes and catnip gravy for the green and good luck! This is Sienna and family along with Linguini and family sending purrs and wishing you all peace.Come visit me, Angel Oscar - I love Angel Cloudy, Finster - I am engaged to Destiny 62594, Nosey -- I Love Orzo & Biscuit is my guy, Sweet Jake - Loving Memory- I will always love you, Angel Lucky - I love Angel Shadow, Angel Rhuby-I love Sir Leo- Welcome Angel Sparky, Q Linguini-I love A. Scoop. Vote Angel Tigger #82433 ACOTD on 3-15-13. Please vote ANGEL TIGGER #82433 ACOTD Friday 3/15* ANGEL TIGGER #82433 has been a member of our community for 4 years & 9 months but has no beautiful badge to call her own yet so we’d like to change that with help from all of our CC furiends. Tigger & two brothers were born when her mom wandered to a house looking for food & love when she was pregnant. Her brothers were adopted by a neighbor but TIGGER #82433 lived a happy life in the forever home her mom had chosen. She got along well with most of her other feline housemates for 15 years until her crossing on July 6, 2011 but we know that the family is still missing her loving purrs. Please pounce by to paw ANGEL TIGGER #82433 an ACOTD vote on Friday March 15th to honor the long life she shared with them & so she can finally earn that elusive badge on her page. Congratulations to our newest royal cat QUEEN JOSIE MAE #193862! Her hillbilly campaign charmed all of us watching from the clouds & we learned a lot about how they cook, treat illness & romp through the area around her Georgia home. We know she’ll continue to charm us as she blogs this month & are looking forward to hearing more of her beautiful southern drawl floating up to the clouds! Congratulations to this month’s COTM nominee TRIXIE #172636! We know your spunky spirit will bring the sparkle of spring into the community & it will be very appreciated after the long, hard winter on earth. We wish you the best of luck on the campaign trail & look forward to watching you spin through the community on your daily rounds. ======================================== *Please let the BAC CENTRAL #73341 or ANGEL SHERMAN #35766 know if there are any missing crossing dates so we can get them posted in our next edition since we don’t want to overlook any of our precious angel friends! So many of our dear furriends ... ... have come by to wish Mom and me a Happy 14th Adoptiversary! Some were unable to make it that day, but have been over since to see us. We appreciate each and every visit. We even had visits from brand new furriends ... what a nice gift that was. Mom is trying to find enough vases to put all the beautiful flowers into. I have nibbled my way through a huge amount of tuna, chicken, cheese, and all sorts of delights. (Cherish gives a tiny, ladylike burp.) It does appear I have a diabetic condition, but right now it is under control with diet and cuddles and lots of brushing. Mom is handling the diet part; I am making sure the cuddles and brushing get done. Just call me Dr. Cherish. My water intake is back to normal, as are the little urine deposits I leave in my litter box. Hey! Mom even got me a new litter box. How cool is that? The new car is working out well so far. The pawrents will take it in for a check up soon, and then over to the car wash. Parts of it really need a bath. Our old Jeep is headed for auction for parts; that bad. We are just fortunate the car broke down so close to home and not while on a long trip or on our terribly busy freeways. No brakes, no steering control could have led to a most undesirable outcome. So, Mom has me, she and Dad have the nice used SUV for now, and I ... well, I have all of you! Truly we are blessed.Come visit me, Q. Cherish - COTM March 2012.

~Trixie's Tantalizing Animal Tales~ March 5th ~Surprise shout-out today for MAUDE #88795 so please go by to paw her a vote & celebrate her adoptiversary~ THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTE OF SUPPORT YESTERDAY! Mom has been glued to the weather channel all morning watching the winter storm approaching our area. They’re saying we could get anywhere from 6-12 inches of the white stuff before it’s done but that’s mild compared to some predictions we’ve seen for other areas along its path. Take care & stay safe dear furiends!! Okay kitties, time to quit thinking about snow for a while & get changed into some farm clothes. I’ve got my overalls, boots & straw hat on for our venture today so I hope all you girl kitties left the heels in the closet or you’re going to sink in the mud as we head to the pasture to see the world’s record holding…TALLEST/LARGEST HORSES! The Belgian horse breed is one of the largest breeds of horses in the world today. A testimony to the great strength and size of this particular breed of horses is RADAR (world record holder until 2007). Radar stands at a height of nineteen and a half hands high & weighs more than a ton! In his prime Radar consumed almost 60 pounds of grains and hay, and tanked up to twenty gallons of water, each day! Wherever Radar was displayed there are sign boards warning visitors to be wary of the horse, but he is mostly well-behaved & earned himself the title of the gentle-giant. Radar loves to do display shows, and has been featured on many television shows and at various stores. Now that’s a BIG horse!! I think he could ride every single one of us on his back & still have plenty of room for a human rider…MOL! But he’s nothing compared to the current World Record holder, BIG JAKE! Big Jake was raised in Ostego, MI from a weanling & still resides there today. His owner said he was extremely hard to hold on to when he was young!" Fortunately, the 2600-pound horse has calmed down a bit in his age. He is friendly with all the other animals on the farm, has a great temperament, & works hard when he is harnessed to a wagon. There's a lot of accommodation to be made for such a large animal, too! His stall is 20X20 feet when an average stall is about 12X12 feet & when he needs transported they have to use a semi-trailer. Big Jake is on a strictly healthy diet, consuming 1 1/2 bales of hay and 40 quarts of oats per day! His family is proud to hold the current record & welcomes the curious visitors that come by to see him. I don’t know about the rest of you kitties but my neck hurts from looking up at these HUGE steeds & I need to take a nap to rest it! Thanks for joining me on our visit to see two of the world’s largest horses! Thank you for your support of my COTM campaign & for all the wonderful comments you’ve been leaving each day. Please pounce over to visit our beautiful Queen Josie Mae #193862 before you head to your napping spot! PLEASE VOTE FOR JACK & FEATHER #244567 ~ MARCH 4 Jack & Feather #244567 love to tell their rescue story and they meow a big thank you with love to mom & dad for giving them their forever home & making them such an important part of the Zoo Crew! Mom found Jack & Feather outside while she was helping a neighbor round up her loose puppies. They were tiny kittens, covered with fleas and weighing less than 2 pounds each. Now they are thriving under the watchful loving care of their wonderful family, who are long standing loyal members of our CC family! Feather & Jack #244567 are both accomplished jumpers, and love being outside in the cat enclosure. ~Trixie's Tantalizing Animal Tales~ March 2nd Thank you for your loving paws of support yesterday as I started off on the campaign trail Angels Sweetie Pie & Darling Girl! Today I promised you a Zoo visit so take a seat on our plane & get ready for a unique travel experience as we head to Argentina! Our pilots today are Hot Rod & Winslow but special thanks go to K Pete for making sure the planes were ready! We’ll be met at the airport by Lola & the BA kitties so they can show us the way to the LUJAN ZOO! (The planes soar into the sky & the kitties all settle back to await their arrival in Argentina.) While we’re in the air let me tell you a little bit about the LUJAN ZOO in Argentina. Often referred to as the most controversial and dangerous zoo in the world, Lujan Zoo is one of the few places in the world where you can have a relatively safe close encounter with some of the most vicious wild animals on Earth. Located about 58 kilometers from Buenos Aires, the Lujan Zoo is reachable by bus from Plaza Italia. The trip takes about an hour and a half in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach with reclining seats. When we get dropped off on the side of the highway, don’t panic because we are in the right place. All we need to do is cross under the overpass and look for the zoo sign. Upon arrival at the Lujan Zoo, you might think you’ve come all this way to experience what might appear to be nothing more than a petting zoo, but the truckload of freshly-butchered meat passing by will make you start asking yourself questions. Rather than the standard miniature horses and timid domesticated animals you might expect, at Lujan you’ll get up close and personal with carnivorous lions, tigers and pumas, not to mention camels and elephants. The monkeys go about their day and survey the human onlookers with disinterest. One of the first cages nearest the entrance is inhabited by lion cubs as well as dogs. For the first few months, the lion cubs will learn obedience training and other important behavior from the domesticated dogs. The dogs will help the lion cubs learn to be more docile in this setting where they will interact with humans. At present there are several lion cages that you can enter, with lions grouped and separated by age. It’s interesting to see how their personalities and behavior develop. Prior to entering any of the cages, visitors are instructed not to make fast, sudden movements or excite the animals in any way. Young children/kits may enter the cage with dogs and cubs with adult supervision, but they’re not permitted to enter the cage with the adult lions. While words cannot effectively describe the Lujan Zoo, it is simply something that must be experienced to fully appreciate. (The planes touch down & all kitties debark.) Well kitties there are Lola & the rest of the BA kitties waiting to take us to the buses that have been reserved for our trip to the beautiful & unique LUJAN ZOO. Have fun with the animals & I’ll meet you back here promptly at 7 for our return flight. ~TRIXIE'S TANTALIZING ANIMAL TALES~ March 1st Happy March 1st everyone! It’s time to wake up because there’s a calico cyclone pouncing into your homes & my happy twirls & spins will twist you around until you’re dizzy…MOL! Most of you have watched me grow up here on CC after I was brought to my furever home on March 16, 2010. I was a wee little thing then but my catitute was already full grown & I made myself right at home in my new surroundings! And then I started pouncing around CC…MOL! Needless to say I made my catitude known around here too but you accepted me with open paws & loving furiendship that will forever be cherished. Okay…before I get teary eyed I’d better concentrate on my campaign. To start off my COTM campaign I’m going to tell you about some of the world’s smallest animals. Please watch where you’re pouncing today & don’t swish your tails too hard so we don’t hurt any while we’re looking at them! We’ll start off with…the WORLD’S SMALLEST DOG IN TERMS OF HEIGHT: the smallest living dog is Boo Boo, a long-haired female Chihuahua who proves that good things come in small packages. Boo Boo is just 4 inches tall and weighs in at a mere 2 pounds. She lives in Raceland, Ky., with her owner. WOW…only 4 inches tall means she could be mistaken for a rodent if a cat has bad eyesight…MOL! The next dog on our visit today would have the same problem so please keep your claws retracted kitties or we could have a lawsuit on our paws! The WORLD’S SMALLEST DOG IN TERMS OF LENGTH: The smallest dog in terms of length is Heaven Sent Brandy, a female Chihuahua who measured 15.2 cm (6 in) from the nose to the tip of the tail on 31 January 2005. Brandy lives with her owner in Largo, Florida. Now we’ll move on to some petite pooches that deserve our respect for their abilities! WORLD’S SMALLEST WORKING DOG isTiny Lucy! Meet 6-inch, 2.5-pound Lucy from New Jersey who Guinness recently named the world's shortest working dog. Besides being incredibly cute and tiny, this Yorkshire terrier is also a therapy dog. Since we started with dogs today it’s only fair for us to end with our own species…MOL! Now we move on to…the WORLD’S SMALLEST CAT: Mr Peebles, a 2 year old domestic cat of Central Illinois holds the Guinness Book of World Records award for the smallest living cat (his small stature is due to a genetic defect). Weighing in around 3lbs he is 6.1 inches high this is definitely the smallest cat I’ve ever seen! Mr. Peebles also has his own Facebook page so pounce over to check it out. And so my first day of campaign chaos ends & the tiny dogs & cats can go back to napping. Since tomorrow is Caturday we’ll be taking off to visit a zoo someplace in the world so plan to be at the community airport early to get a good seat on one of our planes, & don’t forget to bring along your camera. Thank you for your paws of support & have a beautiful day! The Island of Lanai ... Lanai is a destination of untouched tranquility. Enthralling sights like the lunar landscapes of Keahiakawelo (Garden of the Gods) are distinctly unique to Lanai. This is a park that has amazing rock formations. We arrive by four-wheel drive vehicles. The approach is dramatic. For miles we see shrubs, grasses, & bits of red dirt. Then all of the sudden, there are hundreds of rounded rocks & very little vegetation. It is almost as if there had been a storm that rained rocks. We are warned not to remove any of the rocks … there is a distinct sound of hard items striking the ground as they fall. A bit of throat-clearing & chuckling provide counterpoint to it. We wander about feeling a bit like we are visiting Mars. We look back as we leave … is this the original rock garden or what? We get into our Land Rovers, as there are only 30 miles of paved road on Lanai, leaving 400 miles of dirt road to explore. We are headed to Kaiolohia, also known as Shipwreck Beach, to see a derelict ship stuck in the rocky waters of Lanai’s north shore. We drive down a bumpy dirt road, finally reaching this fascinating place, & realizing it is quite the photo-op. The Liberty, a rusty World War II tanker, is lodged on Kaiolohia Bay's coral reef within sight of the beach; it is a bit eerie but still fascinating. We wander to the water’s edge. Peeking around an abutment, we see portions of yet another shipwreck lying in a sandy cove. No way to get over there, we discover, without getting our paws & other parts very wet, but I have put pictures of both boats on my page. Take a look. Finally, we continue our bumpy drive to secluded Polihua Beach, where we find ourselves all alone on a 2-mile stretch of sand. We are just across the channel from Molokai. We take advantage of the opportunity to stretch our legs & work out the kinks. The guides tell us Hawaii’s green sea turtles frequent this shoreline & humpback whales can be spotted from here during the winter months. When we do encounter several endangered turtles we are asked not to touch or disturb them. We enjoy watching them for a short while … they don’t do much … just lie there … then we turn our attention to the ocean where a pod of humpback whales is transiting the area. How nice to see them again. We wonder if they are the same whales we saw just days ago on our boating jaunt. A flipper is waved in our direction & we chose to believe the whale is saying “nice to see you again”. Although we’ve done some diving & swimming since beginning our Hawaiian visit, the current here is incredibly strong so swimming is extremely discouraged. We are told jagged lava rocks are everywhere out there. This remote area is, however, a great place to beachcomb & sunbathe. As we are the only ones on the beach, we take full advantage of the opportunity to stretch out & relax while listening to the sound of the waves striking the shore. See pics of today’s visits on my page.Come visit me, Q. Cherish - COTM March 2012.

Please Vote Storm Frost (244701) COTD Mon Feb 25th Please Vote Storm Frost (244701) COTD Mon Feb 25th Please Vote Storm Frost (244701) COTD Mon Feb 25th Storm Frost is a beautiful little Tabby kitten who is the sister of Julius Steven, a friend to many of us. Like her brother she is a caring member of our CC family and can often be seen visiting sick kitties, comforting sad kitties and their families and of course supporting the COTD and COTM candidates. When Storm Frost was born, To Sparkle Frost, another kitty in the family, Storm Waters, had just miscarried her litter of kittens. Storm Frost and her sister Baby Frost were sort of adopted by Storm Waters and she nursed them cleaned them and taught them what they needed to know to be good kitties. Their birth mother, Sparkle Frost has since been adopted out to a good home, but they are still being loved and groomed by the sweet kitty who adopted them Storm Waters. Storm Frost and her family are loyal and kind members of our CC family, won’t you lease help this little sweetheart earn her COTD badge. Her family would be proud and she will be very happy Just a reminder, please keep those COTM votes rolling for Josie Mae (193862) so this Beautiful and talented Kitty, can wear the February COTM crown as our Queen. Remember to let her know how much fun it’s been sharing her wonderful blogs about Hillbilly Wisdom, Recipes and Cures. Her Catpaign has been fun educational and who knows some of the first aid advice might be a life saver at some point. (Although, I’m a little skeptical of putting hot coals on a burn to help it heal, seems to me like it would just make it worse.) Also, please remember to stop in to visit our current COTM, King Barney (74382) to let him know how much we’ve enjoyed his reign and the great events at the Castle. The Winter Festival was fantastic, Those Ice Sculptures were amazing, weren’t they? Finally, on behalf of the whole CMR team, this is Pete and the Girls, and Princess and Sib's, thanking you for your continued support of the CMR’s special recognition COTD campaigns & our remarkable COTM candidatesCome visit me, Talley COTD 01/02/2009, Ms Murphy COTD July 6th 2009, Angel Lucy-Fur COTD 10 18 2008, Pete COTM March 2011, Angel Maggie COTD March 7, 2013, Raven COTD 5/6/2009 & Angel Sylvia Seville (COTD June 12 2008).

2/23/13 Happy Caturday and Big Thank You All! Sorry we did not start yesterday, but mom was just feeling overtired with all the snow she had to clear and then there was Zeus, who snuck out twice! The snow was soft and up to his neck. Didn't stop him! Mom just stood outside and let him have a good run, because chasing him wouldn't have done any good and he does know where the door is. Anyway, we want to thank you so much for our Meezers ACOTD and all the friends, who came by in memory of the fourth Anniversary of A.Rosebud's passing. Rosebud was very special to mom and I don't know how much you know of her story. She was originally rescued as a kitten by a friend of mom's. She was probably over two years, when mom's friend asked her to kitty sit Rosebud and another female black LH named Midnight for the first time, because they were moving to Duluth, MN and did not have a house picked out in that area yet. The two cats were neither spayed or vet checked for a long time, so mom took them on the agreement that she would get that done, with no cost to the family. Mom's friend has a learning disability and the family had other dysfunctions, including an alcoholic husband. The cats were not abused, but there was never money for proper vet care. Anyway, the cats were spayed and returned to the family, once they had a home in that city. A few years passed and the family was moving again. This time they had Rosebud and a year old pup named Ginger and were planning a drive to Florida. Midnight, who was up in her teens, had passed the Bridge due to breast cancer. When mom had her spayed, she had several tumors and they had been removed, but they did come back and she was brought to a vet and euthanized, before they moved again. The Tumors were inoperable and cancer had spread. Anyway, this time they asked mom to take Rosebud and keep her, because they knew mom loved Rosebud and would give her the best home possible. Mom also asked for their dog, a Rottweiler mix. She could see that Ginger was very gentle and friendly, but fearing the family had been living homeless more than once, she knew that often Animal Control people would simply euthanize certain breeds of dogs, if they were taken in. Mom was determined that that would not happen to Ginger. The original contract was that they had to demonstrate they had jobs and a secure place to live. That did not happen. Ginger is almost 13 and still with us. Sorry, we were going to tell more about Rosebud too, but are running out of room, so will do that on Tuesday. Needless to say, she also lived with mom several years until she crossed the Bridge. Thank you so much for all your votes, both for her, our Angel Meezers and for me, King Barney. As I come to my last week, I cannot totally tell you what a special time it has been and do hope our friend JosieMae has as much fun as we have. Love to all, K.Barney and family, mom Judi too.Come visit me, Our Precious Angels #75646, Heffner #130639-----VFP Goalie, Barney's Daily Inspiration, Handy Andy #149735 VOTE WHISKERS 227256 K. Thanks sooo much everyone! So sorry I haven't been on to blog. Mom has been sooo busy first with going to a funeral five hours away, staying up super late, and then working a lot, she has just been too exhausted to get on to blog. I'm so excited and grateful! I'd like to dedicate this, my FIRST COTD, to all of you, my wonderful friends who made this possible! I am deeply grateful. Also, thanks for everyone who lefts treats!
