Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We’re pawing by with a quick meow because Mom is running way behind. The good mews is my Mom saw her Ear, Nose, Throat doctor and she can get back to life as normal (after her sinus infection). Whatever that means - but one thing for sure is - our cat stroller walks will commence tomorrow!

The not so good mews is my urine test results showed an improvement, but not quite where the numbers should be. I got a penicillin injection and was sent home with 10 more days of liquid antibiotics. My lab results look promising on paper so the vet is keeping me on the same meds. I still don’t like taking medicine, but I’m becoming a lot more tolerant of my Mom. MOL!

We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

My Best Friend =^.^=
~~~~~
Each morning I awake,
my best friend beside me,
his eyes are wide with love,
and my heart sores again.
As I go through my day,
expectations on me,
my friend is always near,
to soothe my troubled mind.
When nighttime descends on us,
and the world is through with me,
at last I can meditate,
and give loving thanks for him.
My friend is very special,
a truly amazing soul,
he's very soft and gentle,
for he's my cat, after all!
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
It was back to the vet for me this morning, since my Mom tried, but failed to get a urine sample from me. Mom thinks after 4 hours locked in a room, waiting for a urine sample, is long enough. At least at the vet I get a diuretic to help me, although it still took a couple of hours. I should enter some bladder-holding contest. MOL! Now we wait for the results.
My sister Callie is half way through her bottle of antibiotics, so she can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ebony is doing well with his Upper Respiratory Infection and is scheduled to go back to the vet for a re-check the first week of June. My Mom is becoming a regular at the vet. Hee, hee, hee!
We're not sure what the neighbor does with the peacocks. They sure are pretty, but kind of noisy. We can always tell when they've gotten loose and are strolling along the streets. The good news is that the streets out here are mainly residential with lots of speed bumps. My Mom is always worried someone might hit them with a car, but it would have to be intentional. So far the peacocks have been lucky. When we do see them, my Mom always herds them back to their yard. The peacocks are pretty easy going and do what they're told!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We hope you had a great holiday weekend with your family. We really enjoyed Queen Angel Sakura’s Memorial Day pawty at the Cat’s Meow Resort.
I finished up my antibiotics on Sunday and I go in for a urine re-test tomorrow. Yikes! My sister Callie is hoping she is on her last round of antibiotics. Mom had a blood test this morning and she’ll see her doctor on Thursday, hopefully getting a good bill of health. Geez! A bunch of sickies around here!
We saw some peacocks outside our front window this morning. Guess it's time for that silly neighbor who lives close by, to start up his peacock farm again! We wish he wouldn't let them wander- we worry about them!
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Cats have always inspired jealousy. The amount of time they spend sleeping and the ease which they doze off is often envied by their human owners. A sleeping cat can fill a room with an air of contentment. Yet of what do cats dream? A twitching paw and a strange, low growl emit from the slumbering bundle. Perhaps a dream of constant cream and fine fish, or is poor puss pursued relentlessly by next door's dog?
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
Just pawing by with a quick meow. Callie's urine test results showed she still has a trace of blood showing up. The vet called Mom and Dad this morning and Callie had to go back for a penicillin shot and 10 more days of antibiotics. If after 10 days Callie still has traces of blood in her urine, then the vet will do x-rays. Callie had bladder crystals and stones many years ago, so we’re hoping that is not happening again. Callie has been on prescription food ever since she had that scary bladder surgery and Dad told the vet, Callie is no spring chicken anymore. The bladder surgery was quite tough on her! For a day there, we almost thought she was going to cross the Rainbow Bridge. But she fought hard and recovered nicely. Callie was only a couple years old then- now she is eleven!
We hope to see all our furiends at Queen Angel Sakura’s Memorial Day picnic on May 25th at the Cat’s Meow Resort. King Pete and the Royal Feline Squadron have an amazing airshow planned for the big Memorial Day event!
We too are mourning the loss of our dear furiend and future CC King Uncle Buddy Budd, but we have to try to celebrate his wonderful life, remembering the great times we had with him and his fun loving family. Cats like Uncle Buddy Budd are a real treasure and one we will never, ever forget. When we think of him, we can’t help but SMILE. :)
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
They left us their paw prints we no longer see,
their happiness still in our minds.
They left us fond memories to you and to me,
their friendship will last all of time.
They left us their shadows grow dimmer to fade,
but never forgotten we'll see.
They left us their photos to gaze at each day,
to brighten us up when we're down.
They left us their feelings their purrs and their meows,
that echo around empty rooms.
They left us those moments to think of and smile,
of footfalls not gentle, like horses.
They left us their playing they thought such a lark,
with toy mice and baubles a plenty.
And the house was all empty without our small friends,
but the love that they gave will remain...
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean & Legend!
My sister Callie was due to go back to the vet for a urine test, to make sure the antibiotics did the trick, but my Mom postponed it until tomorrow. Mom was a little bit worn out after taking Ebony to the vet yesterday and now she is worried about his Upper Respiratory Infection, but you all know how our Moms worry. Anyway, Callie was happy to get a one-day reprieve, so we are all taking it easy today. Mom has the vacuum monster out, but Dad is insisting on helping to clean house this weekend and wants us all to rest with Mom. Sounds good to me!
The weather here is cloudy, but no rain is predicted. At least it’s not hot. Purrfect for catnapping inside. Callie and I miss going on our stroller morning walks, but hopefully next week our Mom will get the go ahead from her doctor and can start exercising again. Yay!
Wow! Your Mom has a super green thumb! Her garden sounds fantastic! We sure hope your weather doesn't go and get too cold and ruin everything! We'll keep our paws crossed for her garden.
That's wonderful that your sweet Mom likes to adopt older kitties. My Mom feels the same way your Mom does- she loves kittens, but give her an older, refined cat any day. MOL! Ebony is older, about 7 years old, but Sugar Bear is maybe 2 years old- very kittenish. My sisters and I are 11 years old and I like to think very dignified. Hee, hee, hee!
We left a vote with purrs and hugs. We have our dear furiend Uncle Buddy Budd in our prayers, along with all our other special furiends and their families who are in need of all our prayers. We hope this little blurb puts a smile on your faces.:)
Cats & The Weather =^.^=
~~~~~
In the 1930's, a white male cat, named Napoleon, lived with his owner in Baltimore, USA. His observant owner, Mrs de Shields, noted that every time before it rained Napoleon would lie on the floor with his front paws extended and would tuck his head between them.

During Napoleon's lifetime there was a drought. The drought had continued for over a month when his owner noticed the clever cat adopt his "rain on the way" pose. According to the official forecast the weather was to continue dry. Unconvinced, Mrs De Shields telephoned a newspaper and told them that it was going to rain - her cat had prophesied it. It did indeed rain, and thereafter Napoleon's forecasts were published in the paper.

When he died, the tombstone over his grave was inscribed "Napoleon the Weather Prophet 1917 - 1936." It was said that in all the six years that he made his predictions he never got it wrong - which is more than can be said for human meteorologists!

Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My Mom got an urgent call from Ebony’s Mom Abarna this morning, saying Ebony was sneezing a lot and had a discharge coming from his eyes. Mom went over right away, put him in the cat carrier and took him to the vet. Ebony has an upper respiratory infection and was given a penicillin injection and a steroid injection. Ebony also had a clump of matted hair close to his behind that needed to be shaven off. He’ll have to go back to the vet in ten days and Abarna has to keep a close eye on Sugar Bear because the respiratory infection is contagious. Fortunately Sugar Bear has been vaccinated for this, although the vet says she could still contract it. We just have to watch her.

My Mom is still recovering from her sinus infection, so she had to wear the face mask the hospital gave her with instructions to wear it if she had to go outside. She felt very silly, but doesn’t want to take any chances at getting a relapse!

I am taking my antibiotics like a good kitty. I still hate the taste and I am counting down the days. Next on the list, Callie has to go back to the vet for another urine test. Mom is saving that for tomorrow!

Hee, hee, hee! We love to hear you kitties so excited about hockey! We'll be cheering for your Blackhawks! Whoo hoo!

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

I'm big and huggable, just like a teddy bear
I'm so happy I got adopted and put in their care

Before my new home, I lived on the cold streets
I really love this place, I even get treats!

No one wanted me before, since I'm a senior, you see
Yet I purr like a kitten and can still climb a tree

Please consider a pet that is older in years
We give lots of love and take away all the tears

Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
Well, I started my liquid antibiotics this morning. My Mom thought she would need my Dad to help her, but they soon discovered it was easier to just let my Mom do it. I’m not ready to let my Dad handle me. Mom was able to hold me with one arm and use her other hand to squirt the medicine in my mouth. Afterwards, Mom held me for a few minutes before letting me run off. I forgave her quickly and rolled on my back for a belly rub. Hee, hee, hee! I have a feeling I’m going to be able to get a lot more belly rubs in the next several days.

We are all still taking good care of our Mom. Whitey has been unusually affection to Mom, clinging to her legs when she gets up and hopping back on the bed to lie by her side. We haven’t been going on our stroller walks, but Mom keeps telling us we will very soon. The weather has been overcast and cloudy the past few days, purrfect for resting in bed with our Mom.

Hee, hee, hee! Isn't that the way rain always works?! My Mom says the surest way to get rain is to wash your car. Unfortunately with this drought, that hasn't worked like it used to! We hope your Mom stays dry!

We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.

to observe trees, birds dancing like leaves,
watch grass shifting in waves
and to sniff wetness on flowers
after rearranging dark earth,
paws scrabbling at roots.

Now you slink gently as silence
venturing into conservatory, then house,
assume patrol position on wide windowsill
to ensure all your great outdoors is in its place
then you come to me,
butting me with nose and side of cheek,
licking my hand and arm,
purring friendship all over my knee.

Circling you wind down to curl your feathered tail
around yourself and me, relaxing completely

Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We sure have missed everyone. We have a lot of catching up to do so please bear with us. My Mom is moving at a snail’s pace. She is recovering from her sinus surgery nicely, thanks to all the get well wishes and prayers from our furiends, but she’s not one hundred percent yet. My sisters and I have been taking very good care of her with some help from our Dad of course.

My sister Callie will be finished with her antibiotics today (She had a UTI). Hooray! Unfortunately when I had my blood and urine tests last week at the vet, the vet discovered I have a urinary tract infection! I didn’t even feel sick! Mom took me to the vet this morning for a penicillin shot and a bottle of liquid antibiotics for 10 days. Thankfully the vet was able to get a chicken flavored compound. My dental cleaning is still scheduled for the first week in June if my UTI clears up. (Sigh!)

Whitey and Orangie are doing fine. We’ve all been sleeping on the bed with Mom, getting along pretty good. Whitey still hisses once and while, but her and Callie are starting to tolerate one another more and more. Ebony and Sugar Bear’s Mom Abarna came over to visit Mom last week. Abarna said both kitties are doing great and there haven’t been any recent attempts from Sugar Bear at escaping out the door. Whew! Good mews!

Wow! You guys sure have had some extreme weather changes. From a heat wave at 89 degrees, back to worrying about frost! We hope the weird weather doesn't make anyone sick. Yikes! Give your sweet Mom a hug for us. We always have your family in our nightly prayers.

Sending soft purrs, warm hugs and something to make you smile.:)

Please Don't Call Me Fluffy =^.^=
~~~~~
Of all the names in the world,
why did you have to call me that?
Recall the tale of a boy named Sue,
well now you done it to your cat.
I can understand when we first met,
I was little and pretty with lots of hair.
You thought, "Ah yes, we'll call him Fluffy."
But can't you see that wasn't fair?
Now I've grown into a big tough tom,
you see it doesn't suit me much.
I'm the laughing stock of the alleys,
you know you should have called me Butch.
I know I'm not the only one
had this burden on them fall.
So please remember when you choose...
We don't all stay fluffy, cute and small!
Hi Angel Anderson
1st of all we would like to apologize for the delay in getting back with everyone. Mom's schedule changed at work and she now has 5 days instead of 3, so she is tired when she gets home, especially on our day, Saturday..mom works ALL day on Saturday, and if it is super busy, she is tired when she gets home.
How would you like to come to come to Lookout Mountain for a campfire night? Monday night, let's say around 8:30pm..just as it starts to get dark. we can have mice-mellows, cocoa, catbeers, and anything else you dare cook over an open fire. We can tell Ghost stories or tell each other what bought us up to the RB...we can think of a zillion things to do.
Who wants to bring torches to ward off the bugs? I got the liquid that goes inside, and we will also need more refreshments, so please feel free to bring anything you wish!
In the meantime, tomorrow afternoon some of us are going hiking into the woods to see what we can find...AJ said he's gonna climb a tree and jump on another kitty and scare them..I doubt Angels can be scared, but he said he's gonna give it his best.
Hope to see you tomorrow for the hike and Monday for the campfire night...oh yeah, bring your sleeping bags cause it is gonna be a sleep out night, as well! {for those of us who are brave enough to sleep outdoors all night. {MOL}
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My sisters and I are taking care of our Mom as she recovers from a sinus infection. We will only be doing our daily voting for a couple of days. Right now our household is in disarray.
Callie has another urinary tract infection! Mom took her back to the vet on Thursday. The vet gave her a penicillin injection and a stronger antibiotic. Callie threw up the new medicine after swallowing it. Then to top things off, Callie disappeared and my Mom was frantically searching for her from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. My Mom was worried that Callie might have slipped out the door when Dad left for work. My Mom tore apart the house first, looking for Callie everywhere, but no luck. Then Mom spent several hours combing the neighborhood in case she had somehow gotten outside. No luck outside either. Finally when Mom came back home after searching outside, she found Callie and me sitting together in the living room, as if nothing had happened!
Now that Callie was found, Mom called the vet to tell her Callie hates her new antibiotics and will NOT swallow it. So Mom went back to the vet and we are trying a different liquid antibiotic. Mom is able to purée Callie’s wet food in a blender, then in a syringe, combine the liquid medicine with her puréed cat food. Mom filled one syringe with just the cat food, and another syringe with the cat food and medicine. Mom gave Callie the cat food syringe first, then the one with meds. It worked! Callie didn’t meow and run off. She did throw up a little bit, but it was an hour later and the vet said the medicine had enough time to get into her system. So we have our paws crossed.
Needless to say, the swelling under Mom’s left eye is not better. She thinks it might be because of all the excitement. So today Dad is insisting she stay in bed with her eyes closed. We’ll keep you posted.
We were heartbroken to hear our precious Queen Sakura had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our Queen was a fighter until her tiny body just couldn’t keep going anymore. Our thoughts and prayers are with her grieving Mom and family. It actually rained here on Thursday, very hard with thunder off and on all day. It was as if the sky opened up and was crying for the sadness in our CC Kingdom.
Sending soft purrs and warm hugs.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
It looks like me and Callie won’t get our stroller walks for a day or two, but that’s okay because we are all busy taking care of our Mom. Mom had to visit her doctor again today for her chronic sinus infection. The swelling under her eye wasn’t worse this morning, but it was still visible. Dad wanted to go with her, but the school year is ending soon so he really shouldn’t miss work. So we had the house to ourselves until Mom came home. She was sent to the outpatient clinic and received antibiotics via IV. Her doctor checked her before she came home, pleased at the reduction in the inflammation in her sinuses. Mom felt better and her fever is almost gone. Hooray! Now it’s her turn to take antibiotic meds for 2 weeks! Callie is having a good laugh! I’m not laughing because I know my turn is coming up soon when I get my teeth cleaned. Mom hasn’t tried to get a urine sample from me yet. She told me she knows she’ll feel better in a couple of days so I better get ready. Yikes!
Sorry we missed all the fun at hockey tonight. Mom closed her eyes and fell asleep. Now she is wide awake again but its time to go to bed! We missed seeing you kitties play!
Gotta go! It’s my shift for Mom’s purr-therapy! Thanks for all the get well purrs and wishes for my pawrents. CC furiends are the best!
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We had a busy day here today. Mom took Orangie to the vet for her booster shots this morning. While waiting, a dog was brought in that had been hit by a car, so Mom had to bring Orangie back later. In the meantime, Mom’s cold is turning into a sinus infection, so she went to see her doctor. He gave her an injection of antibiotics and said if the swelling in her left eye doesn’t get better by tomorrow, she needs to come back for IV antibiotics. Mom had a sinus infection before that landed her in the hospital, so she can’t just hope it goes away on its own.
So Mom came home, got Orangie back to the vet (Orangie is such a good girl!) and she got her booster shots. Then the vet told Mom she needs to have me (Whiskers) brought back in for blood tests before my dental cleaning AND the vet wants Mom to try to get a urine sample from me first. Good luck with that Mom! Mom is going to try real hard because I get so upset at the vet and they don’t want to stress me out too much.
So the next couple of days, we might be late in answering my blogs, but don’t worry. We’ll keep you updated.
We have Queen Sakura and all our furiends and their families in need, in our thoughts and prayers.
We left a vote with soft purrs and hugs.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
It was a quiet weekend at home. Dad is still coughing and recovering from his cold and Mom is fighting off a cold. We gave our pawrents lots of purr therapy.
Orangie has a vet appointment on Tuesday for her booster shots. Orangie is very docile when it comes to getting into her cat carrier. At least one of us is!
We’re trying to get caught up on our blogs. We hope you had a nice weekend.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My sister Callie had her recheck at the vet today. The vet needed a urine sample from Callie, but as always, Callie peed on my Mom while she was getting put inside the cat carrier. Mom was ready with a change of clothes. The vet gave Callie a diuretic, and after half an hour, Callie was free to go home. The vet said she looks good, weighs 12.5 pounds (down from almost 14 pounds at her heaviest), but the test results won’t be back until Friday or Monday. Yippee!
Next month I’m on the vet-hit list with my teeth cleaning! I don’t even want to think about that yet.:(
We had problems this morning with CC lined up on the left side. Mom rebooted her computer and DSL. It worked but is moving very slow. It's very frustrating.
Hope to see you all at the Coronation tonight for Queen Sakura!
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
That ole blogger of mine is running way behind today. My Dad’s cold has settled in his chest. He felt so lousy this morning, he let my Mom convince him to see the doctor today after he gets home from school.
We are all fine, just tired from a sleepless night of Dad’s coughing keeping us awake. MOL! That’s okay, we’ll put in a few extra hours of catnapping while our pawrents are gone.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
Just a reminder for tomorrow’s “Merry Sport’s Day” at Sandy, Ana, Haley and the Angels’ home. They’ll also be honoring the first anniversary of the day K. Malachi became an Angel. His Mom is very despondent and could use some CC goodwill and cheer. Angel K. Malachi’s page number is 194826, and the “Merry Sport’s Day” event can be found on pages 270892 and 270893 - the homes for Sandy, Ana and the family. The weather will be cloudy with a slight chance of rain, but the temps should be in the comfortable 50’s - purrfect for getting together with furiends!
My sister Callie will be finished with her antibiotics on Wednesday and my Mom will take her to see the vet on Thursday for a recheck. Callie is doing great, thanks to all the well wishes and prayers from our CC furiends.
The weather here was a warm 86 degrees yesterday, but is supposed to cool down to 80 degrees today. It was purrfect this morning for our cat stroller walk. The walking trail was deserted and we still haven’t seen our feathered Quail furiends, but someone is eating the birdseed we scatter.
Today looks like a good day for cat napping outside while Mom brings out the dreaded vacuum monster. Our Dad is going to try to come home early from school today. He coughed a lot last night, but claims he felt better this morning. Mom is making chicken and vegetable soup today, a sure cure for a cold. I can smell the chicken cooking in the kitchen and I’m licking my chops. MOL!
We sure hope your Mom doesn't catch a cold from her friends at work. We have our paws crossed for her. We're still having problems with CC, but off and on. Sunday we had the same problem you're having, with the paragraphs all lined up on the left side. Very hard to read! But today we're having the problem with the Adobe Flash extension that keeps failing and locking up our pages. Arrgh! Let's hope it fixes itself!
We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We were devastated to learn this morning that our dear furiend King Pushkin became an Angel. With his failing health, but remarkable ability to always bounce back on his paws, we hoped and prayed he would be the one to defy all odds and live furever. But we knew it was an impossible wish. It was our dear furiend’s time to be called back home to Heaven where his Grampa was waiting to greet to him. That thought made us smile. We have King Pushkin’s Mum in our prayers. It’s always hardest for those left behind on earth, but at least we have a lot of precious memories.
We are all doing fine. Dad has a bad cold, but went to school to spread his germs. :( Mom told him to cover his mouth and wash his hands! My sister Callie is taking her antibiotics without too much fuss and she’ll be finished by Wednesday.
We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean & Legend!
We have been having some strange issues with CC that started last night. We keep getting “logged out” automatically, having to log back in over and over again. Very frustrating!
Callie has been doing great taking her antibiotics. She likes the tuna water chaser more than she dislikes her meds. Plus getting her off guard in the mornings seems to be working. Callie should be finished with her meds by Wednesday. Hooray!
My Dad woke up this morning with a bad head cold, sneezing and coughing. And are you ready for this? We got RAIN last night! Not a lot- .25 inches, but what a wonderful surprise! We’ll take anything we can get.
We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need. We hope you’re having a nice weekend so far! Give your sweet mom a warm hug for us.
You know, it just never pays to try to figure out the weather. Dipping down into the thirties again! Outrageous! Well, I hope that's as low as it gets this time. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean & Legend!
We had a little excitement here last night, but it ended well. About 6:30 last night, Ganesh, our next door neighbor knocked on the door. He was frantic! Sugar Bear had gotten outside. Mom and Dad opened their garage door and the door that leads to the back yard with the cat fence, and they went out on foot to search the neighborhood. Mom asked her neighbor to wait at his home in case Sugar Bear showed up. By 9 pm, no luck and Dad had to go to bed. Mom stayed outside with a flashlight and a bag of cat treats, combing the neighborhood. Mom came home about 10 pm, told the neighbor to leave his garage open for the night and she would do the same. Maybe Sugar Bear would come home on her own. Mom closed the door to our backyard and decided to take one more walk around the block. That’s when she heard a faint mew! It was coming from our backyard. Yep, Sugar Bear had gotten locked in our backyard. She must have run back there when the search was on and was hiding really good because Mom and Dad both looked back there very carefully several times. (Obviously not good enough!) Mom called her neighbor told them the good news and it took her another half hour to scoop up Sugar Bear in the backyard and then take her home. Whew! Mom scolded Sugar Bear, but then had to give her a big hug and kiss. Sugar Bear was covered with leaves and twigs. Mom cleaned her up and took her home. I’ll bet Sugar Bear slept good last night!
My Mom held Callie when they woke up this morning and Dad got her medicine down before she even knew what was happening. Mom had some tuna water ready as a chaser. Success!
We don't know how your dear, sweet Mom was ever able to give you fluids without help. I guess when you really have to get something done for your loved ones, you do it any way pawsible, but it couldn't have been easy. Your Mom is extra special, that's for sure!
Dear Angel Anderson,
Hi there! So good to hear from you, buddy! You all are quite welcome for the blessing. Yes, 38* is still too cold for seeds to be put in. And like you said, one day--BOOM--it will be to hot or too late. The weather this year has been SO crazy! We already have fans and window units going most of the day, but it's been up around 98* or so.
Thank you for my vote, my good furiend. I have enclosed a vote for you and wishes for you and your family to have a very blessed day.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My sister Callie had her second dose of tuna flavored antibiotics this morning, but not without causing a fuss first. My Mom couldn’t find Callie and wanted to give her her medicine before Dad left for work so he could assist. There aren’t too many places to hide in such a small house, but leave it to a smart and wily kitty to find a great hiding place. Callie managed to get her body behind the china cabinet and burrow herself into a hole that’s built into the back of the cabinet! Luckily Dad hadn’t left yet, so he could move the heavy cabinet away from the wall. Mom squeezed in to grab Callie and whew, Callie got her meds. Afterwards Mom held Callie in her arms for several minutes to make sure Callie didn’t throw up.
Mom was curious and tasted the medicine for herself. It smells like tuna, but the taste is still yucky. Maybe the pharmacist needs a new recipe. MOL!
Still getting rain? We're glad it's not so cold any more where you live. Mom says, "April showers bring May flowers." I guess we won't have too many flowers this year here. No April showers for us. :( We can hardly wait to hear all about your Mom's garden. Bet it's going to be great!
Thank you for your condolences on the loss of my beautiful brownie. I know that MerryBelle is in a better place now, free from sickness with the dignity & grace that she so deserves. But my heart is broken and it hurts. I like to think that she is waiting for me. What a glorious reunion that will be!
This poem by Karen Post seems appropriate so I would like to share it with you, in MerryBelle’s honor:
      To My Mom & Dad With Love
Don't be sad you had to end my pain,
and know that you will see me once again.
God's given me a place to wait for you,
and you know what? He says He loves me too!
There's lots of different critters all around,
in Heaven there's no evil to be found.
So all of us just seem to get along,
and Angels serenade us with their songs.
People here are kind, they stroke my fur,
and they all seem to love it when I purr.
I'm no longer sick so I am glad,
please don't fill your days by being sad.
I haven't really gone that far away,
and I'm really looking forward to the day,
that we can be together up above,
in this land of peace and happiness and love.
Thank you to my entire CC family for your outpouring of love & support during this most difficult time. I am truly overwhelmed by the many blogs & emails these past few days. Thank you for loving my MerryBelle. She will remain in my heart furever.
With tearful Hugs,
Mommy Angela
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My sister Callie got the results today, from her blood and urine tests on Friday. Callie’s urine showed a trace of blood, so she has to take antibiotics for a few days. The good mews is my Mom asked the vet about “flavored” medicine- per her CC friends, and the vet said she would be happy to get Callie’s meds flavored -she just never gets many request s for that because of the cost. My Mom sends many thanks to all our CC friends! I predict there will be tuna flavored antibiotics when I get my teeth cleaned next month. Hooray!
We are all mourning the Rainbow Crossing of our dear furiend Queen MerryBelle today. That pretty kitty sure did put up a good fight. We know her family will be hurting the most, but Angel MerryBelle will be resting comfortably in Heaven with all of our precious Angels.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
My sister Callie is doing fine, getting lots of attention from Mom. She hasn’t had any more mishaps in the litter box and she hasn’t thrown up any more fur balls, so we’re pretty sure Callie was just stressing out from when Mom was away. Callie even felt up to a stroller ride this morning. Dad went with us. It was quiet on the trail, no humans or any yappy doggies. We haven’t seen our quail furiends again, but we leave birdseed just in case.
We're glad to hear your Mom is fine and just needed some rest. Be sure to give her some purr therapy. That always helps my Mom relax.
We'll keep our paws crossed that your Mom's marigolds and tomato plants spring up soon. My Mom doesn't have a green thumb, but that never stops her from trying. When she plants anything that actually grows, she is delighted! Mom always had success when she plants our cat grass. That's all we care about. MOL!
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
Sorry we missed meowing at our furiends yesterday. My Mom took my sister Callie to the vet for a check up. Mom was worried about Callie the day before when she peed outside the litter box. Then Thursday night Callie threw up a hairball. Afterwards Callie kept coughing as if something was caught in her throat. This lasted for a few minutes and then she settled down, but maybe once every hour she would start to cough again. This went on most of the night. So off they went to the vet on Friday morning.
The vet needed a urine sample, but Callie had peed on Mom when she put her in the cat carrier (she always does that.). The vet gave Callie a diuretic and let Mom wait with her while it took effect. Mom read to Callie from James Herriot’s Cat Stories book while they waited. The vet got a urine sample, gave Callie an examination - said her heart was beating very fast, but that was normal for a frightened cat. Callie never coughed once while at the vet! The vet asked if anything had changed at home, so Mom told her she had been gone for almost 2 weeks. The vet nodded knowingly and said Callie is probably stressed out. The vet took a blood sample too, but the results won’t be in until Monday. Callie’s urine sample did not have blood, which made my Mom very happy. The vet, whose name is Dr. Natt, weighed Callie and she has lost another ½ pound, so that was good mews.
The rest of us are doing fine. Callie has been getting all of Mom’s attention. I think she planned it that way. MOL!
We left a vote with purrs, hugs and prayers for our furiends and their families in need.
Hi Angel K. Anderson, Dean, Legend & family!
We went for our stroller walk an hour late this morning because someone had peed outside of one of the litter boxes last night, so Mom had to clean up the mess. I won’t name names, but I’m pretty sure it was a calico cat. Hee, hee, hee! Mom isn’t sure why it happened, but she is going to keep a close eye on Callie. Callie has suffered from UTI’s and bladder stones before, but it has been years since she’s had a problem. There’ s no sign of blood in her urine, so Mom is hoping it was just an accident.:(
Anyway, an hour late on the trail by our house means a lot more people were out walking their dogs, so it was a thrilling ride this morning. Big dogs are always curious about what’s in the stroller, but most dog owners try to keep their dogs at bay. My Mom is thinking of putting a “Baby On Board” sign on our stroller. MOL!
It’s still a bit windy here today and is going to warm up to the 80’s. The news is warning about a high fire danger the next couple of days. Yikes! Not good when you’re having a drought. Imagine what the summer has in store for us!
It's amazing to hear you talk about the warm weather you're having and maybe turning on the a/c, when just a while ago you guys were freezing . Mother Nature is indeed very strange. Bet the warm weather feels good on your Mom's knee! Good luck at the hockey games tomorrow!
Can you see how red in the face I am? I'm so sorry for missing my meows to you and your family since my Mom got back from San Diego. I think her old age is starting to get to her!
My Mom's trip to see GM went well and us kitties are all fine. Dad did a great job taking care of us, but we were happy to see Mom. We followed our Mom all around as she unpacked and we've all been sleeping on her every night in bed. MOL! Mom doesn't mind. She said she missed us too!
We've been trying to get caught up my blogs and somehow missed you buddy. We were very upset when we heard that our furiend Chyna had become an angel while we were gone. It was such a sad shock. My Mom had to lay down to cry for a while. It was just such heartbreaking mews.
Today is the day for all of us to get our Revolution Flea/Heartworm Treatments. Whitey got it first so we’re all on to what Mom is up to and have decided not to follow her around as much as we have been. MOL!
Mom washed all our beddings yesterday and changed all the kitty litter boxes. Today we fear the vacuum monster will back out. We can’t believe we actually missed our Mom so much! Okay, I know - we have to take the bad with the good. (Heavy sigh!)
Give everyone hugs for us my dear furiend. We hope your Mom and furmily are all doing well. Hopefully your weather is warming up nicely.
Went for a ride, found a new home
Hi Angel Anderson
Hope you are doing good today. The Church service this morning was just pawsome. Lots of kitties showed up. So many are in need of our prayers right now and that includes my brother, Jesse. Me and AJ each lit a candle for him...after all the candles were lit it was bright in the church!
I took a long walk to the gardens after church on the way to A Misty's house for that cookout....umm so much good food...lots of pretty flowers are already blooming...the Rainbow Bridge is coming alive!
Are you busy tomorrow? I thought a bunch of us 'ladies' could go out the Red Hat Lounge and have a nice lunch and maybe a few cat-tini's.
After lunch maybe we could go shopping for flowers and stuff to decorate our yards!
While the 'ladies' are doing lunch and shopping..I thought us guys could go fishing and grill our catch for lunch and then either go star spinning or cloud hopping.
Hope you have a good evening!
Hi Angel Anderson
I hope you guys are coloring them eggs for the Easter Egg hunt tomorrow at Sunshine Mountain. I love coloring eggs for the little ones to find. The Kitten with the most eggs wins a big beautiful basket full of catnip goodies.
I know AJ colored 3 dozen and I am working on my 2nd dozen right now.
For dinner afterwards, I am helping with the glazed catnip ham with squirrel syrup over the top and I know we will have catnip yams, and lots of other food. It is gonna be a feast for all of us!..Ham, eggs, potatoes, yam, pork, miceroni salad, baked rat stew and bird casserole...I saw a whole lot of food that will be placed on the Buffet table...I can't wait for dinner.
I have my cloud decorated with ducks, chicks, bunnies and I have plastic eggs hanging from the tree outside...I hid catnip jelly beans in them and I saw a few young cats taking some down..that is what they are for..the cats to eat!
My guy Angel Lucky sent me a bouquet of cat safe Easter Lillies that I put in a vase on my window...he also gave me a big box of chocolate eggs.
Hope to see you tomorrow for the egg Hunt and Easter Banquet at Sunshine Mountain...I believe the sign said the egg hunt starts at 10am after morning church services.
We’re looking forward to our beautiful mew Queen Edina’s reign in April and we hope King Hami has a happy retirement. We’ve been lucky enough to be furiends with Sakura, our COTM nominee for May, for quite a while now. Sakura is as smart, kind and witty as she is beautiful. This should be an exciting month for Cat Channel. A few months ago we didn’t even think CC would still be around, but here we are - like the energizer bunny; we just keep on going! Hooray!
It was a bit chilly here this morning, but the sun is shining so all of us kitties were sunning out in the backyard while Mom gets ready for her trip to San Diego. We’ll miss our furiends very much and we’ll keep all of you and your families in our thoughts and prayers.
We left a vote with soft purrs, warm hugs and wishes for a blessed Easter.
One day puss did not take his place punctually, but presently appeared with two mice, one of which it placed on its master’s plate, the other on its own.” - Beatrix Potter, Beatrix Potter’s Journal =^.^=
