How We Met

Mom Adopted Me from a Local Shelter when I was only 8 weeks old. Originally She was looking for a Calico. She held many Kittys...trying to find the right one. When She held Me...I just curled up in her arms & fell asleep! We were made for Eachother! I am very Lucky that my Mom Adopted Me...I became Aggressive & would throw 'Hissy Fits'. Mom had bite & scratch marks on her all the time! Many People & Even the Vet thought I should be put down. Mom would Not hear of it...She said She Loved Me too Much! She gave Me Medicine to Calm Me instead & I mellowed with Age. The last few years of My Life I had to go live with My Grandparents. ..Mom was in an 'unsafe' situation & was afraid I would be hurt. Mom visited all the time! Mom moved in with My Grandparents just before I "Crossed the Rainbow Bridge". It has been 10 years since I Passed. I Watch Mom from Heaven & I know Mom thinks about Me Everyday Because...I Left My Paw Prints on Her Heart!! (More Pics to Come)

Buddy’s Bugle – Final Edition
Hi again everyone. Well, my reign is just about to end and what a great time I've had as your King of January. We’ve shared some laughs and some tears together, just like life itself I guess. Monday I will be passing my crown to your new Queen of February, Queen Vegas. I wish her the best and hope she has as great of a time during her reign as I have had during mine.

In today’s final installment of “Life With The Pawsee”, I want to revisit, and maybe update, some of our experiences this past month. First off, as you know, I did get my Kingly bows from my Pawsee sibs…hehe. (That is still a sore subject with them)…Snowball has been and still is the Snowball we all know. He has been in closets, up on the tv table, the kitchen table and yes, even the armoire again! Robby and Roo still “fight” about who will get to Dad’s lap first and then once there, sharing is not an option . MOL! Chloe still likes drape herself across my pawrents’ shoulders and/or neck. Max is still the loner, and I, your Kingship, is still the most well behaved, purrfect cat around! (Geez, I think a foreign object was just tossed at me…MOL!) Hmmmm?

BTW, Ole Blogger Dad wanted me to thank you all for the suggestions to remove the stains from the living room carpet. After trying everthing under the sun, Dad finally relented and said that it looks like he will have a “pawsee moment mark” on the rug forever..Now I wonder what he meant by that???? Oh yes, before I forget…While Dad was down on his hands and knees trying to get the spot out, one of the group ran and knocked the “resolve” over that he was using..Another mess. Now I’m not gonna be a tattle tale and say who that someone was but I’ll give you all a hint. He had them same colorings as Casper the Ghost…..

Concatulation- s got out to our COTD today, both Sherman & Shelby at page 167118.

And please don’t forget to give your daily vote to our COTM candidate Vegas at page 10221.

Kittens! Kittens!
Kittens kittens everywhere
Kittens chewing on my hair
Kittens climbing up my jeans
Kittens hanging from the screens
There's a kitten on each shoulder
Will they do this when they're older?
Kittens fighting on the chairs
Kittens tumbling down the stairs
There's a kitten on my head
There's a kitten in the bread!
There's a kitten in my shoe
I don't believe we just have two!

As always our prayers go out to all the sick kitties and pawrents out there (sure are a lot right now). Hope you all get well really soon.

Thank you dear friends for your support and for allowing me the honor of serving as your King of January. Quite a rewarding experience....

Have a wonderful day and I hope we can all stay in touch with one another even after my reign ends.

Hugs and Purrs, King Buddy #69967, Your King Of January

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Royal Decree Edition..
Hear ye, Hear ye one and all. I, King Buddy do hereby proclaim this coming Monday, Jan 25th, to be known as “Orange Cat Day!” Everykit, whether you are Orange or not, please join us as we celebrate our Orange heritage..

Hello Everyone and welcome to another edition of my Bugle. Our weather here in eastern Pa has been pretty nice lately. With clear skies and temps in the mid 40’s F we sure can’t complain. Wow, Jan 23rd already. My reign is coming to it’s last days and soon we will be crowning a new Queen so please keep those votes coming in for our COTM candidate Vegas #10221.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I want to tell you about yet another Pawsee House “mishap”. A few mornings ago Blogger Dad was sitting in the living room having his morning coffee and reading the newspaper when all of a sudden with a galloping roar, out runs Snowball and Robby chasing one another. Unfortunately they ended their little run by jumping up on the end table where Dad’s coffee was sitting and, yep! You guessed it, the coffee went flying and spilled all over the light tan living room carpet. Well now, I don’t know if any of you have ever tried to get a hot coffee spill stain out of a light carpet, but it is quite an ordeal. So far nothing Dad has tried, including dish soap, white vinegar and even a stain removal product called One Step even begins to remove the stubborn stains. Needless to say, Robby and Snowball were NOT on the favorites list that morning. MOL! I sure am glad I am so well behaved compared to the rest of the Pawsee…….

My Congrats go out to our COTD winners today, Angel Muschi and Angel Mynx # 51261.

I'm only a cat,
and I stay in my place...
Up there on your chair,
on your bed or your face!
I'm only a cat,
and I don't finick much...
I'm happy with cream
and anchovies and such!
I'm only a cat,
and we'll get along fine...
As long as you know
I'm not yours... you're all mine!

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Special Kingdom Edition
Well hello again to all my CC friends. Wow, today is day #15 of my reign as Your King of January. I must apologize for falling behind in my blogs. This month has been crazy around the Pawsee House what with hockey games, both human and feline, and Ole Blogger Dad with his various appts and errands etc. As a result I didn’t get a chance to respond to all of the blogs you nice kittys have sent me so I thought I would send out another Bugle hoping that it will make up for some of my lapses in blogging.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I would like to take you back to the beginning of the month when I first became Your King. Some of you may have heard that when I asked my Pawsee subjects to bow before their King (and I only asked them to do this once a day in the morning) they all started rolling around the floor with laughter. “This is definitely no way to treat a King” I thought to myself.
After much thought and planning I came up with an idea. Knowing how much my sibs hate having anything on their paws, especially kitty litter, I decided to spread some on the floor where I was sure they would have to walk thru it to get to the food bowls. And sure enough, when they heard the bowls rattling, they made a mad dash to the kitchen running right thru my kitty litter booby trap. Before they realized it, their paws had kitty litter stuck all over them. They immediately stopped in their tracks and started cleaning the litter off of their paws. To do this they had “bow” their heads really low to lick themselves clean. That’s right, I said Bow, cause that is exactly what they did. As they did this I stood over them and said “you may all rise now my subjects”…Hehe! They were infuriated but none the less, I did get my bows...yep,like I always say, “ he who laughs last, laughs best”. And did I ever laugh…MOL!

Be sure to vote every day this month for Vegas #10221, our COTM candidate for Feb.

Congrats to today's COTD, Sam #63760

"Buddy's Bugle" - Final Edition, Vol. XXXl
Hello again everyone. I just can’t believe that today is the last day of my COTM catpaign. I can’t begin to describe how excited I am as the Passing of the Crown ceremony draws near. I was up most of the night trying to figure out what to say at the crowning cermony which will take place at the Catpaign Mews Room #46883 tomorrow morning (New Years Day)at around 8 AM Eastern time . I don’t expect to get much sleep tonight either. And speaking of tonight, I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve but please make it a safe one too…

Well, the rain we were supposed to get this morning came in the form of snow, leaving about and inch or so on the ground, enough that Ole Blogger Dad had to get the blower out to clear our driveway and sidewalk. All the precip has stopped now and it’s about 32F so hopefully it won’t get real icy. Yep, I can still hear the weather human saying yesterday,”this (storm) will definitely be a rain event in our area)”.. yeah right !!!

In this, the final “Life With The Pawsee segment we all wanted to something a little special for each of you so we sat down with thinking caps on our heads and pens in our paws and came up with this little poem that we we would like to recite for you now..

Buddy, Robby, Roo, Max, Snowball and Chloe stand side by side, clear their throats, and begin…..

“We’re so happy to have spent this time with you
And now the crowning is near,
We wish you the best with whatever you do
And a joyous, Happy Mew Year !!"

All six members of the Pa Pawsee take a bow to all their friends...

Oh my gosh! The month has passed!
I have to say, it's been a blast!
Thanks to Dad for all he's done,
To make my run a special one!

With all the buzz for holidays,
With so much love in many ways,
For all the friends both old and new,

Thanks from my heart, for friends like you!

"Buddy's Bugle" - Vol. XXX
Hello again everyone. I have to tell you, I’m so excited as my COTM catpaign has entered the home stretch now. There is light at the end of this tunnel.
Another cold one here in eastern Pa. Not as bad as yesterday though. Now there was a brutal day. We had winds that gusted as high as 50MPH and our high temp never made it out of the 20’s F..Brrrrrr, I get cold just thinking about it. A warm-up is scheduled for today with a high of 36 and not as windy as yesterday.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I would like to tell you about some of our favorite things to do. One thing we all enjoy is hiding our furry mice under furniture, beds, hutches etc. The only problem with that is sometimes we “throw” them under so far that we can’t reach them. And actually getting ourselves under the furniture etc. is virtually impossible. So every now and then Dad will have to go around with a yardstick and try and get all of our mice back out. We do enjoy this little activity though and of course, we don’t have go around on our hands and knees trying to get our toys back, Blogger Dad does!! It is kind of funny to watch. Hehehe!
We also love to have “hallway races”. One of our favorites. Right now I would have to give Snowball the edge on those but I’m slowly catching up to him. We are also very intrigued by the “mysterious red dot”. This thing moves all over the place and just as we are about to pounce on it, it seems to disappear for a second and show up someplace else. We have spent quite a bit of time chasing this thing. For some reason it will never show up until Dad is sitting with us. Now that is a mystery to us.
Of course I must say that of all the toys and games we have played with, our #1 all time favorite still has to be the Christmas Tree! Yep, we have had some of our best times hanging on the that fellows branches..MOL!

Congrats to our COTD, Lover #154651 (Hopefully Blogger Dad will get the page number correct today—Hint, hint Dad!!!)

Small wonder why we love them so.

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Vol. XXIX
Hello again everyone. I hope you are all doing well. It’s a sunny but cold day here in eastern Pa. Our high today is only 28F and we have winds gusting to 35mph. Not too pleasant out there. I’m and indoor cat and really glad of it right now!

In today’s segment of “Life With The Pawsee” I would like to give you a glimse into what is definitely one of the most important times here at the Pawsee house, our meal times. Our noon meal is a little special to us cause that’s when we get some “wet” food mixed in with our dry. We begin handing out hints around 10:30AM and continue doing so right up until we get fed. We each have our own dish so usually all of them are at the same place, our kitchen floor. The exception is the noon meal because Chloe refuses to eat the wet food. My pawrents tried to just give her a bowl with dry only while the rest of us got the mix. The problem there was that some of the Pawsee members would also try and eat her food along with there’s. So now Chloe has a “special room” all to herself for the noon meal. Our Dad puts her bowl of dry food in there for her and closes the door until she is finished eating thus preventing any food thievery. Of course I myself would never think of stealing her food, but then there’s Robby, Roo and Snowball who have no qualms about eating someone else’s meal. MOL! Oh, and did I mention the table manners or lack thereof. Meal time is one of the noisiest times around here. You never heard so much slurping and munching as well as dish rattling! Of course I am very quiet and dignified at meal time but it’s those others…….

Buddy is a dapper dude,
Who would make a supper ruler,
He’s also a TIM,
Which makes him even cooler.
So use your mouse
And visit his house,
To cast your vote each day.
And make our "buddy" Buddy
A King in every way!

Thanks to Yum Yum #93255 for writing that really cool poem for me.

"Buddy's Bugle" - Vol XXVIII
Hello again and a Happy Monday to you! A sunny day here in eastern Pa with temps holding in the mid to upper 30’s with some gusty winds. Sure feels a lot cooler than yesterday’s low 50’s temps. As I head into the last week of my catpaign I get more excited with each passing day. Just think, Friday I could become King Of January..Wow! And I couldn’t have made it this far without all of you, my friends. A big Pawsee thank you to you all.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I want to tell you about our day yesterday (Sunday). We all were up and about before either of our pawrents were and we were getting hungry. Since our breakfast was late, we decided to have a little fun at our pawrents expense. So to the Christmas tree we went, batting everything we could reach. We had at least 6 or maybe more ornaments knocked down and on the floor. We also bent the lower branches again. This was so funny we could hardly contain our laughter. When we heard our pawrents finally getting up we all sat at the bay window giving them our cute and innocent look. Well, I cannot repeat some of the words they muttered, let’s just say they weren’t NICE words and leave it at that. Again we had to contain ourselves so we wouldn’t laugh out loud.
Yes, we really had a good laugh and were so proud of ourselves but later in the day the unimaginable happened. Our pawrents (The Grinches) took down the Christmas tree and packed it and all the ornaments in boxes and put them away. I still can’t believe they did that. It’s not even New Years Day yet and our tree is gone..Hrummpf!!!!!!
I guess maybe we didn’t get the LAST LAUGH afterall.

Hurry up kits and get on down,

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Holiday Weekend Edition
Hello everyone, hope all of you that celebrated Christmas yesterday had a nice one. I sure hope and pray that any of you hit with that terrible weather are all safe and sound. We only got rain here in eastern Pa. In fact, it rained today all day tday too and now all of that foot of snow we had from last week is completely gone!! Gee, no snowcats for us..

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I want to tell you all about our Pawsee Christmas yesterday. First, we gave our pawrents an early present. We let them sleep in yesterday morning. Yep, we didn’t wake them until 5AM. Now how about that? I could tell just by their expressions that they really appreciated our generous early Christmas gift to them. MOL! Then we all dashed out to see if Santa Paws came to see us. And guess what? He did! He left all kinds of presents for us. We got a cuckoo clock that hangs on a doorknob and it had a fuzzy mouse that dangled from it. And it was the darndest thing, everytime we would bat at the mouse it would climb up to the clock. We also got another fuzzy mouse but this one moves. It goes front, back, sideways, all over the place..We really got our exercise for the day with that one. We got stockings full of fuzzy mice and catnip toys and some wand toys. Everything was going so good and then it happened. The doorbell rang and in came our hooman brother and his wife with their two little hoomans.. One was 5 yrs old and the other, 6 months old. Well, that ended our fun for the day. We all made a beeline for the beds and hid under then. We don’t like little hoomans cause they like to carry us around and sometimes grab our fur, so we always make a hasty exit whenever they come to visit. Now I ask you, is that a way to spend Christmas? We did retaliate later in the evening though. After they went home we were successfull in knocking a few more balls down from the Christmas tree..Hehehe. .

(69967)Buddy'- s the guy who wants to be King

Rainbow Bridge Scoop * Merry Christmas *
From Duckies’ Desk: MERRY CHRISTMAS from the beautiful Rainbow Bridge! It is an exciting time to be at the Rainbow Bridge! Your Little Angels will take a glorious day to relax on Christmas Day and reflect on the many wonderful things that have taken place during the past year. Many Angels have earned their Cat of the Day Badges during the past 12 months and we have welcomed many old friends across the Rainbow Bridge to their new homes. These have been glorious reunions! We have prayed for loved ones and seen many sick friends returned to good health. It has been a wonderful year on Cat Channel.
With the holidays in full swing there is no Angel Cat of the Day campaign for this week! Congratulations to our Angel Cat of the Day for last week. It was Angel Tigger, #94310, and his badge is shining brightly in the evening sky for his family to see! Angel Tigger was overwhelmed and thankful to everyone for this wonderful honor. The evening sky is becoming brighter and brighter as more Angels win their COTD badges.

You may feel a special warm feeling or you may hear a quiet little noise in the house. When this happens just pause for a moment and you will be able to feel our presence. You may even feel an Angel kiss brush your cheek if you try! Remember just because we are not seen does not mean that we are not there. We are always near your heart.
On Friday Evening a huge banquet will be held at the Rainbow Bridge as all of the Angels return. We will sit down to a Christmas Feast and celebrate this most wonderful time of the year. Afterwards the combined Angel Choir will sing long into the night. Look to the night sky and see our bright star and listen for the beautiful sounds of the season.

“Buddy’s Bugle – Vol XXIV
Hello again my friends. Well, just one more sleep in until the big day. We will keep our paws crossed that some of the nasty weather they are predicting for tonight and tomorrow won’t happen. Around here it looks like a rain event starting tomorrow (Christmas Day).

In my “Life With The Pawsee” segment today I wanted to let you all know that my sibs and I have been on our best behavior because we know that Santa Paws will be coming tonight. In getting prepared, we took all our fuzzy mice toys and hid them under furniture, beds and everyplace else we could find. We didn’t want Santa to trip over them or think that we already had enough toys and not leave us anything. MOL! We also made a few “adjustments” to the Christmas Tree to make everything just right! Why we even helped with present wrapping yesterday. (although Snowball ended up inside the wrapping paper) …Hehehe. Tonight we are planning on going to bed really early and wait for Santa Paws to come to the Pawsee House. ‘We are leaving some catnip tea and cookies with salmon sprinkles on the table for Santa too. Oh, I almost forgot, we even helped make the beds this morning (from the inside out).

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Vol. XXIII
Hello again everyone. Another edition of “Buddy’s Bugle” comes to you from snowy eastern Pa. We haven’t had temps above freezing since our snow storm Saturday so there’s quite a bit of the white stuff still here. Now we hear that another storm is moving in Christmas day. It could be snow changing to freezing rain or just rain depending on what moves where. Not a great time for a storm due to all the holiday traveling.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I would like to tell you all what happens around here when meal time nears. When our “internal clocks” tell us it is getting near meal time (usually about ½ early) we start dropping casual “hints” to our pawrents. For example, they might be sitting in the living room reading or watching TV or whatever. First, plan A, we send Snowball in to find something on end tables etc and knock it/them on the floor. This usually get’s our pawrents attention. If that doesn’t seem to do the trick we immediately go into plan B. This time Robby and Roo are sent in to jump up on the lap of either or both pawrents and, if they are reading or doing puzzles or whatever, sit directly on the book or puzzle and prevent them from continuing. (This is one of our favorite tactics and usually brings a stern look from the folks.) Hehe! Then there is also plan “C” in which we all start racing around the house like we are chasing each other. By this point our pawrents usually give in and feed us just so they can have some peace and quiet for a bit. These plans have been quite successful for us and over time we have purrfected them and have them down to a science now. Oh, and I did I mention the “stern looks” we get..Hehehe!

“Buddy’s Bugle – Vol. XX
Hello everyone and a Happy Winter to you. As you probably know, winter officially begins today although somebody should have told Mother Nature since she dropped around a foot of snow at the Pawsee house on Saturday. We were more fortunate that our neighbors in Phila. (about 50 miles east of us) who got around 2 ft of snow from the same storm.

In my “Life With The Pawsee” segment today I’d like to tell about are “adventures” and the snow storm. We all got up Saturday morning and had our breakfast (very important you know) and then went to our favorite “critter watchin” place, the front bay window sill. Well, we were certainly surprised when we looked out and saw that our yard was now beginning to turn white. Needless to say, we didn’t see many critters scurrying about either. As the day progressed our lawn became more and more white until finally everything outside was covered with this white fluffy stuff our pawrents call snow. And it continued to snow all day and even into Sunday morning. We wanted Dad to go out and build us a "snowcat" but he never did. So as a kind of payback, after everyone went to bed Saturday night we all came back out in the living room and had Chloe climb the tree and hang on a branch long enough that it would bend..Hehe, It was so funny just looking at this bent, pathetic looking branch. And talk about a "Kodak moment”, you should have seen the look on our pawrents faces when they came out in the morning and saw our handywork! We could hardly contain our laughter. While we were all chuckling to ourselves I don’t think either of our Pawrents were very amused cause they had to remove some of the ornaments from the tree so they could get at the branch and try and straighten it again! Yes we really do have some good times here..MOL! Later in the day we watched our Pawrents outside trying to clear the driveway and porch etc and once again, we were really glad to be kitties. Yep, while they were out there in the cold trying to clear all that snow, we were nice and toasty inside just sitting and watching from the window sill. Ahhh yes, life as a kitty here is good…

Buddy’s Bugle – Snowy Weekend Edition
Hi everyone and Happy Saturday to you. We are getting a major winter storm here in eastern Pa. today. Over a foot of the white stuff is predicted for our area with gusty winds later causing blizzard like conditions. So far the winds are mild and we hope they stay that way. I wanted to try and get my blog out early as we have a tendency to lose power during storms like this. On the upside though, maybe we can talk Dad into going out and making us a snowcat...

Today’s “Life With The Pawsee” section will focus on yours truly. Yep, me.MOL! I was the first kitty to be adopted into the Pawsee but Robby and Roo were right behind me. In fact, they were both adopted within days of me. This came about because I had my big boy surgery at the Rescue League the day after I was adopted. When Dad came to check on me after my surgery he went in the the Cat Room, where all the kitties are waiting to be adopted, and found Roo who immediately ran up to him and gave him the “please take me with you” look. Well, it worked and Roo became the 2nd Pawsee member. The next day Dad found out that Roo had a brother who was also at the Rescue League so of course Dad had to see him too and that is how Robby became Pawsee member #3. And this was all in the span of 3 days..MOL! Anyway, back to me. My pawrents tell me I am very aloof, whatever that means. I’m not much of a lap kitty although I will sit on a lap or two occasionally but only when I’m “in the mood”, maybe once or twice a day for 5 minutes or so..I act like the typical cat. Sometimes when my pawrents are talking to me I just get up and walk away. That is just me. My nemisis at times is Snowball. Every now and then there is hissing and batting going on between the two of us. This is usually followed by a squirt of water from our pawrents which send us both running. Squabble over! For the most part though, we all get along pretty good and are so glad we found a furever and loving home.

This month we vote for Buddy,
A very sweet lil guy,
He's full of Love and Cuddly,
With cuteness you can't buy!
So make the trip to his house,
Today and everyday,
And leave a vote for Buddy,
And really make his day!

Buddy’s Bugle – Vol XVII
Hello again everyone and happy Thursday! The brrrrrs are sure back again here in eastern Pa. Last night our temp dipped into 20’s F again and today we are not gettin’ out of the 30’s..Just like yesterday although not quite as breezy. Since I’m indoors all the time I really don’t mind the cold but it is fun watching the humans when they come back inside from the cold with their red noses and extra rosy cheeks!

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I want to share our adventures of the joy filled annual Christmas Tree decorating with all of you. Finally, after waiting all this time, it took place yesterday afternoon. We all look forward to this day each year and can’t wait to “help”. Hehe! After the tree was put in place and all the lights were up, again Chloe took on the job of center pole inspector. Yep, up the center pole of the tree she climbed reaching about ¾ of the way to the top before being removed by Dad. She gave the signal that all looked ok so the festivities continued. As the dangling balls and other ornaments were placed on the tree we went around and make some “adjustments” to the them. A bat here and a bat there making sure they were at the correct angle. Is it any wonder why this is our favorite time of the year? When else would all kinds of shiny ornaments be dangling and just waiting for us to pounce. MOL! I must say that things went pretty well though and before long the tree was all decorated except for the bottom two rows! Now that is strange cause those rows are void of any decorations..Hmmmm, now why is that I wonder? Anyway, if you want to see Chloe in action doing her tree inspection check her page. Her new main pic shows her in action. There is another pic of her and the tree on the bottom section of the page too..

"Buddy's Bugle" - Tues 12/15 Edition
Hello again, happy Tuesday to you all. We had some rain overnight but it’s just cloudy right now with temps around 45 degrees here in eastern Pa. Nothing too exciting weatherwise until Sunday. They are saying some snow may move into our area then. Time will tell.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I would like to spotlight Roo. He was the 2nd member of the Pawsee, right after yours truly Yep, I was the 1st adoptee into the Pawsee house. Roo and Robby were littermates and when you look at them together, they look like bookends..Hehe..They look so much alike but the white stripes on their faces are reversed. There is a pic on Robby’s page that shows the two of them together and you can see what I’m talking about. Perfect bookends!
Roo is definately my Dad’s Kitty. Wherever Dad is Roo will be there too. And he doesn’t like to share my Dad either. There have been times when he and his brother “went at it” because Roo didn’t want Robby to sit on Dad’s lap. As far as Roo is concerned, that is his, and only his lap to sit on..MOL! Other than his little jealous streak, Roo is as friendly and affectionate as his brother Robby. Both are definitely lap kitties although Roo can sometimes be a little more “stand off-ish” than Robby. There are time when he seems to prefer being left alone for short periods, especially when he wants to take a cat nap.. He has a spot on the sofa back where he has a little nook for naps. There is an indent where he lays and if someone fluffs the pillow and removes his little depression, he will go right back to work making another. One thing for sure, Dad has found a furever friend, and he couldn’t be happier about it. Yep, if you want a cuddly kitty that loves to be with you anywhere you go , Roo fits the bill purrfectly.

Cats __By Eleanor Farjeon

Cats sleep Anywhere,
Any table, any chair,
Top of piano, window ledge,
In the middle, on the edge,
Open drawer, empty shoe,
Anybody’s lap will do,
Fitted in a cardboard box,
In the cupboard with your frocks-
Anywhere! They don’t care,
Cats sleep Anywhere.

Congrats to our COTD today, Peppermint #83902

Please send a vote to our COTD candidate Mitzy #142183 (vote today Tues 12/15).

Buddy's Bugle – Monday 12/14 Edition
Hello again and a Happy Monday to you all. Yesterday was a day filled with freezing rain and treacherous roads here in Eastern Pa. Not a fun time at all. While there is no rain today, the roads are still a little icy this morning and traveling is slow going.

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I want to introduce you all to Snowball. As I said a little while back, he is known as “The Pawsee’s Bad Boy”. He definitely has a mind of his own and he does basically only and everything he wants to do, much to my pawrent’s chagrin at times. Common and unallowed places he inhabits frequently are the kitchen table, the countertop, inside cabinets etc. My pawrents found the only thing that deters him is a small water pistol, so one is kept in the kitchen at all times. Now don’t get me wrong, he is a sweet and really handsome boy and I know my pawrents love him dearly but he is just one of those “in to everything” kitties. MOL! He is from the same Animal Rescue League as the rest of us. He was adopted after Max but before Chloe joined our merry group. When Chloe came, she became Snowy’s bestest friend and still is. Sometimes Snowy likes to “play” rough with us larger cats but he always is very gentle anytime he “plays” with Chloe. As you can probably see on his pics, he is a very slender kitty with long and very soft white fur. A great kitty with just a bit of a wild streak..hehe. .

Snowball Update: This just in. Today is trash pickup day at the Pawsee House. As my pawrents were getting the last of the trash bags ready to take out, they noticed one felt a little heavy. Upon looking inside I’ll bet you can’t guess what they found. Yep, a little white head peeked out…Snowball was inside the trash bag…MOL! Luckily the bag only contained old newspapers..

Congrats to our COTD today, Sir Chancellor #50922

Please send a vote to our COTD candidate Peppermint #83902 (vote today Mon 12/14).

Our prayers go out to all the sick kitties out there (sure are a lot right now). Hope you all get well really soon.

“Buddy’s Bugle” – Weekend Edition #2 12/12/09
Hello again everybody. Hope you are all doing well. It’s still cold here in eastern Pa. Yesterday our high temp was only 32F with some winds along with it made for a frigid day. Now tomorrow we are supposed to get some snow changing to rain again. Can’t wait for that mess!

In today’s “Life With The Pawsee” segment I would like to focus on our resident Maine Coon known as Max. He appeared one night in our driveway a few winters ago. We opened the door of the garage and in he came. He looked run down and mighty hungry so my pawrents decided to keep him overnight. By the next day he appeared to be doing much better so my Dad left notes around the neighborhood asking if anyone lost a cat. After getting no responses he decided the best thing to do would be to take him to the Animal Rescue League and see if anyone would claim him. The next day Dad went up to check on the kitty (not named yet) to see how he was doing. He looked so afraid and lonely that Dad adopted him right then and there even though our Pawsee would now grow to five (the sixth member Chloe wasn’t here yet). My pawrents decided on the name Max for him cause it just seemed to fit. And that is how Max became part of the Pa Pawsee. He get’s along with all of us but he is a “loner” type of kitty who prefers being by himself rather than mingling with the rest of us very much. He won’t eat with us either. Maybe it’s our table manners, I don’t know, but Max always has to have his own bowl and eat away from the rest of us. MOL! One of Max’s favorite things to do is to chew shoe laces. If you leave your shoes within Max’s reach and they have laces in them, you can rest assured that when you go to put them on again, the laces will be chewed off. We should have stock in the shoe lace company cause we sure give them lot’s of business since Max’s arrival. Hehe.. Another thing my pawrents find comical with Max is when he sit’s on his rump with his back legs stretched out in front of him just like a purrson would do. There are some pics of him sitting like that on his home page. My pawrents sometimes refer to Max as “our little lion” because that’s just what he looks like. Maine Coons have been referred to as “Gentle Giants” and that sure is true in Max’s case…..

Congrats to our ACOTD Winner Precious Ness #141472

Our prayers go out to all the sick kitties out there (sure are a lot right now). Hope you all get well really soon.

You're invited to his house,
To swack and whack his little mouse,
Send a quiet vote his way,
Let Buddy know, you'll make his day!
(Vote Buddy #69967 COTM everyday in December!)

Bye for now and thanks again for your votes,

From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Precious Ness, #141472 ? “I found Precious in a dumpster in a box. Someone had thrown her away like she was trash. I heard a meow from a box and opened it to find her. She ran away and for the next three weeks I would go to the dumpster to feed her. Finally, she followed me back to my patio where she gained more trust in me. I took her to the vet and she became part of our family. I always thought she looked like a Maine Coon.” Precious Ness liked to play with the TV and the Stereo's remote control and loved catnip! “My Daddy rescued me from the dumpster, gave me a good home with lots of love and food. From Duckie’s Desk: Have you met Angel Lucky, # 141955? Our Angel Cat of the Day candidate’s name this week says it all. To talk to Angel Lucky he will tell you he was the luckiest kitty that ever lived! Hurricane Floyd impacted the East Coast of the United States from September 14 to 18, 1999. The greatest damages were along the eastern Carolinas northeast into New Jersey. During this time Angel Lucky’s Mom Cat abandoned him and his sister at three weeks of age! He was frozen and half dead and even stopped breathing for a moment or two but his future family got him and his sister breathing again. They nursed and raised him as their own. Mr. Lucky was a domestic shorthair from Staten Island, New York. Mr. Lucky loved his Mom because she was so kind hearted and good to all cats. She helps all cats who need help. Mr. Lucky died suddenly in 2008, it was a suspected heart attack. “This cat was my heart and soul and I still miss him.” On Friday, December 4th , please come by Angel Lucky’s page #141955 and cast a vote for this very deserving Angel so he will receive his Cat of the Day Badge he so richly deserves and make his Mommy proud of him one more time!

THANKSGIVING PRAYER FROM YOUR ANGELS
As I fold my wings to pray-there is something I'd like to say-I am so thankful for many things, the balls of string, bird that sings-The little bell on my collar that rings-But most of all, that wonderful day-You found me, saved me and took me home to stay-I became your little girl or boy-To bring you laughs and days of joy-For all the years, through floods of tears- I felt safe and had no fears-you loved me and fed me, I had the the biggest cat tree-And when my time came, you cried as you held me and set me free-I crossed over the RAINBOW BRIDGE, to a beautiful land with a windy ridge-Now as I stand here, And you're down below-My paws to my lips, I'm ready to blow-Loving hugs & kisses down to you, for all the loving things you did do!! I MEOW to you, Who I'll never forget-I am most thankful for the day we met!...We apologize for being late in getting this to you, but we are thankful for all our CC family who have supported us and kept our Mom in your prayers. We will be sending out our thank yous very soon, for making it possible to be honored as Thanksgiving ACOTD, on such a "special day" very soon. From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Moe, #149380 ? Moe was a special Kitty that had that special bond with his forever Mom from the very beginning! Unlike many kitties Moe always had a happy and safe life because he had a great Mom who always put his well-being first! The only bad thing Moe ever had was when he had his big boy surgery. Mom took Moe to one of the vets that the humane society had listed. What a mistake! When she came to pick Moe up she could hear him crying from the back room and when they handed him to her he cowered in her arms. She thinks they hurt him so needless to say Moe never went back there! Moe was always really healthy so the day Mom found out that he had cancer it broke her heart and she just started crying and couldn't stop. The kind of cancer Moe had came on so fast that there was no time for any options. Dr. Hunt gave Mom something for Moe’s pain so he could go home for his final few days. Mom has Moe’s ashes so he can always be close to her. “Mom said that I was the most gentle soul even when I was getting shots and there was not a mean bone in my body!” “I just want to add that it was an honor to have such a great cat as Moe!” On Friday, November 20, please come by Angel Moe’s page #140380 and cast a vote for this very deserving Angel so he will receive his Cat of the Day Badge he so richly deserves and make his Mommy proud of him one more time!

From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Tiger, #87225? He was a stray that mom took in when she was about 13, back in the late 60's. He was the first cat, actually the first pet, she'd ever had. Tiger was a tough guy who ruled the neighborhood. Mom just fed him every day and after a while, she had her first cat. One day, he came home with his leg twisted in an odd way, he'd been injured and had to slowly work his way home. Mom and grandma took him to the vet and the vet put a cast on his leg. The vet said the only way to get the leg perfectly straight, was to put a pin in it, but it would heal fine without it. From then on, Tiger was an inside cat. He only lived a couple of years after that. When the family was away on vacation, Tiger developed a kidney problem. Tiger had been boarded at the vet's. A couple of days after we returned and picked Tiger up, Tiger got really sick and we took him to the vet. Looking back, we suspect Tiger had FIV, but in 1970, nobody knew what FIV was. He also got into a lot of fights, some of them with a feral cat that was in the area. We'll never know for sure if Tiger had FIV, but we suspect that it was a possibility. Tiger was a special kitty and now he's at the Rainbow Bridge, young and happy. Mom says she feels lucky to have gotten to spend that time with him. Please visit Angel Tiger’s page, #87225 on Friday, November 13th, and cast a vote for this very deserving Angel so he will receive his Cat of the Day Badge he so richly deserves!

So many times a story of a Kitty and their owner is one of a special bond that seems to span the vast void between Earth and the Rainbow Bridge itself. Such is the story of Angel Joy! Joy was dumped in her future owners yard and they found her sleeping on the patio bench. When she was asked what she was doing there, she meowed and opened her mouth like a big O. Then she rubbed herself all over her newly found owners legs. How can you say no to a little kitten like that? Joy was a Domestic Shorthair from Palm Springs, California! One day Joy climbed to the top of the kitty tower. Her owners didn’t know how she did it, because she was so small. Joy was notorious for stealing hearts, and being loved and held was enough for her! Joy crossed the Rainbow Bridge after being spayed from a blood clot that dislodged. Her Dad held her till the very end when she Crossed Rainbow Bridge. Please visit Angel Joy’s page, #141474 on Friday, November 6th, and cast a vote for this very deserving Angel so she will receive her Cat of the Day Badge she so richly deserves!
Your Little Angels have really been busy this past week! On Wednesday, November, 4th, a large welcoming committee was on hand to welcome Angel Taliesin, #32594, across the Rainbow Bridge. He was walking slowly when he began crossing the beautiful Rainbow Bridge but was prancing proudly amid the cheers of many old friends who were on hand to welcome him as he completed his journey! He has received his wings and golden halo and spent his first days here telling everyone about his family back home that he loves so very much. Today, November 5th, two more Angels crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These were Angel Charmin, #64593, and Angel Butterscotch, #149829. This week’s edition of the Rainbow Bridge Scoop is dedicated to our newest Angels, Taliesin, Charmin and Butterscotch and their loving families.
