Kaycee and the girls are all
baffled on how the kittens got out of their beds. Finally Winchester confesses that Colt has figured out how to get the rails down. Snuggles and Chyna smile and tell Kaycee that they have better go and look at some toddler beds today. Kaycee just smiles and says I guess we have better! If not today then we will go tomorrow. They look outside and the creek is flooded and badly. Groaning they wonder how they are going to keep the kittens and Dixie and Ellie entertained. Kimmy and Mom Kitty get a warm breakfast going. They warm up glazed doughnuts and bacon and get out the milk and make coffee. They call it their "OUT OF SCHOOL BREAKFAST!" The kits all thank Shilo for caring for the horses on this very soggy morning. He tells them that they are welcome. Kaycee asks if the water is going down and Shilo and Rhudy both say that it looks like it is. She tells Rhudy that the kittens need new beds and for a certain little lady has learned how to get the rails down. Colt giggles and Kaycee looks at her trying not to smile but she loses the battle. Rhudy tells her if she goes out to use the longer way into town like they did when they lived in the other house for they shouldn't encounter any flooding. Snuggles says she will take the Hummer if Kaycee wants to go. Dixie and Ellie ask if they can go and Kaycee says yes but if they encounter any flooding they are coming home.
After a good lunch of homemade lasagna with a salad, they leave with Dixie and Ellie who want to buy a game for the xbox that the kittens can play and they with them. Three hours later the beds are bought and mattresses and new bedding. Dixie and Ellie are pleased with the new game "OGRE BOWLING" and they can't wait to play it with the triplets. The beds were to be delivered tomorrow. Later in the evening giggles erupt as a game of OGRE BOWLING is played. The boys and girls and triplets are playing. Laughter erupts as Dixie gutter balls with Fiona and then Trace gutters with Puss In Boots. The family stays up late having a wonderful family time until the storms erupt and all go to bed with the triplets sleeping with Dixie and Ellie and Mom Kitty.

CHYNA AND HIMMY JOIN THE FAMILY
IN THE FAMILY ROOM AND THEY TELL EVERYONE THAT THE TRIPLETS ARE SOUND ASLEEP AND THAT WINCHESTER WAS HUMMING ONE OF THE SONGS IN HER SLEEP! THEY ALL LAUGH FOR IT IS CUTE. THE WHOLE FAMILY HAD ENJOYED WATCHING THE SOCK HOP AND DANCING WITH THE KIDS WHO ENJOYED THE ADULTS DANCING WITH THEM! HIMMY HAD MADE A VIDEO OF THE SOCK HOP AND SOME OF IT HOPPED UP AND DOWN WHEN HER FEET WOULD NOT STAY STILL! THE BOYS ARE OUT OF SCHOOL NOW TOO, AND DON'T HAVE TO RETURN TO SCHOOL UNTIL AFTER LABOR DAY. RHUDY TELLS THEM THAT BEGINNING MONDAY THEY CAN BEGIN CARING FOR THEIR HORSES IN THE MORNING. DIXIE AND ELLIE WERE ALREADY CARING FOR THEIR HORSES. A FIRE CRACKLED IN THE FIREPLACE CHASING THE DAMPNESS OF THE THUNDERSTORM OUT OF THE FAMILY ROOM. THEY WATCH THEIR FAVORITE MOVIE SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT AND LOVE IT WHEN TRACE ADDS HIS RICH VOICE SINGING WITH JERRY REED. SINCE THEY HAD DONE SUCH A GREAT JOB WITH THEIR GRADES AND THE SOCK HOP, RHUDY AND SHILO TELL THE KITS THEY CAN ALL SLEEP IN LATE THAT THEY WILL DO THE HORSES IN THE MORNING. THE KITS THANK DADDY RHUDY AND UNCLE SHILO. SNUGGLES TELLS THE KITS TO EAT COLD CEREAL WHENEVER THEY GET UP FOR SHE KNOWS WHEN THEIR NOSES SMELL BACON THEY ARE UP AND THEY DESERVE A DAY OF SACKING IN. ONE BY THEY ALL RETIRE WHEN THEIR MOVIE IS OVER. MOM KITTY HOPES THAT IT DOESN'T STORM DURING THE NIGHT AND WAKE THE TRIPLETS AS SHE GOES TO HER BEDROOM. WHEN SHE SAYS HER EVENING PRAYERS SHE GIVES THANKS FOR HER FAMILY AS DOES SWEETIE IN HIS BEDROOM. THUS THE SUMMER VACATION BEGINS.....

Rhudy and Kaycee
proudly walk in with all the family. The hostess takes them to the dining room where they have meetings. The kits, big and little, are so well behaved that they impress the waiter! Winchester, Kimber and Colt order from the kids menu and all the others select what they want plus they order four bloomin onions! They enjoy their meal and some laughter at some silly comments. Trace sings ANNIE's SONG for Rhudy to Kaycee since Rhudy can't carry a tune. Kaycee cries with happiness and kisses Rhudy and tells him thank you for such a beautiful day! Soon they leave and Rhudy gives his gift card to the waiter. When they get home, Kaycee finds a beautiful silk night gown laying on the bed and Rhudy is smiling. Kaycee loves how he blushes when it comes to women's delicates when he buys them. It has a matching silk robe and the baby blue color he picked is beautiful. She kisses him and tells him she loves him so very much. Snuggles, Mom Kitty, Chyna, Himmy and Kimmy clear their throats as they stand in the doorway and Chyna hands two small boxes to Kaycee and tell her that is their way of saying thank you for letting them stay with them and being a part of the family. She opens the bigger of the boxes and in it is a Citizen's watch, two tone with diamonds for the 12,3, 6 and 9. She is crying again and tears flow when she opens the long small box and finds a gold charm bracelet with a charm for each of the kits with their names and birthdays engraved on each of the heads. Kaycee is bawling by now but it is all happy tears. Rhudy chuckles as she holds out a wrist to have him put on the bracelet first and then the watch. She whispers "Thank you my sweet sisters. Thank you" they then go to the family room and watch a movie. For Kaycee this mother's day was the best of the best.

Everyone is impressed with the
triplets writing their upper and lower case alphabets. They are gleaming with pride and so is their family and it makes them feel good all over. Rhudy loves the new wedding band that Kaycee got for him. He leans over and kisses Kaycee when she walks by and she smiles a radiant smile. He loves the Harley and the Harley jacket and all the gift cards. He doesn't tell the boys that he is going to share his Pro Bass card by buying them fishing poles. He will also stock up on the tackle and get a new tackle box. He plans on taking Kaycee to Outback for Mom's Day and using his gift card there for all to enjoy. The Pro Hockey Shop gift card he will share with Dixie by getting her the jersey of her favorite player on the San Jose Sharks...Thorton and Dan Boyle. Dixie and Ellie are already out of school and the boys have two more weeks. Rhudy tells the triplets he will take them to Disneyworld and Seaworld this summer plus they had reservations to go to the Grand Canyon and ride the mules to the Phantom Ranch! The triplets all shout yeaaa! and Rhudy says that they will go to Florida the last of June and then on the way home they would stop and see the July race at Daytona. The triplets jump up and hug Daddy Rhudy and Kaycee takes their picture with her cell phone. Elvis goes downstairs and so does Trace and they begin practicing for the 50's dance that will have music from the 50's and 60's. The show is this coming Monday! Dixie and Ellie scurry downstairs and so does Patches and they begin their practice and are sounding really good! Upstairs the adults begin to dance as do the triplets. They are having so much fun that they forget about supper until 8p! Everyone laughs and votes to eat cold cereal. Before long they are all in bed and excited that tomorrow is Friday.

Momma Kaycee and Daddy Rhudy
tell Mom Kitty that she can home school the kits for awhile when school starts again. Dixie is excited about the last of school for her and Ellie is getting closer and she asks Daddy Rhudy if they can compete in a couple of horse shows and he says he doesn't see why not. The girls are excited about riding this weekend and working on the classes they want to participate in. Snuggles and Chyna are drafted as judges and they laugh. They say it will feel good to be in the saddle again. Dixie excitedly shows a show program that a friend had brought to school and given them. She pipes up and tells Daddy Rhudy that the triplets could do the leadline class. Colt, Kimber and Winchester all get excited. Momma Kaycee says when the horses are being ridden more they will decide which horses to use for the leadline class. Kimber says she wants to ride Dixie's horse and Dixie says if Momma Kaycee approves first. The triplets and girls all disappear into Ellie's and Dixie's room to look at catalogs of the current western pleasure outfits. The triplets want to know if they will get outfits and Dixie tells them since they are growing so fast that Snuggles, Himmy and Chyna would probably make theirs but not a soul at the shows would be able to tell. Elvis, Trace go into the small studio downstairs and start listening to the CDs that Snuggles had gotten for them. Tigger, Chase and Patches play a game of pool and relax. Mom Kitty still can't get over how well the kits all get along even with the triplets. Sweetie asks how about a cook out tomorrow with steaks and potatoes and salad if the girls will make it. They all say it is a deal. Rhudy says he will help. Kimber, Colt and Winchester come out of the room and climb up on the couch with Momma Kaycee and Daddy Rhudy and ask if Chyna, Snuggles and Himmy can make them a show outfit for the horse show and they show them the picture that they had torn from the catalog. Kimmy looks at the pic and says she can do it along with the others. The triplets get excited and go back to Dixie's and Ellie's room and the light goes out. Trace and Elvis tell Snuggles she had picked some cool CDs and that tomorrow she can help pick the songs that they will sing. She says ok. The boys shower and go to bed. Tigger, Chase and Patches tell Daddy Rhudy that Shipo and Sweetie are playing the NASCAR game and Shipo was losing as usual. Rhudy tells the girls he had better head downstairs.....

When the girls arrive at Walmart...
Dixie and Ellie go to electronics where they can view the CD's. They find four CD's with the 50's and 60's music that Trace wants and they ask if they can spend some of their money on buying a MP3 player for themselves. Snuggles says yes but to be sure to get a different color so that you will know which one belongs to whom. They take off back to electronics leaving the CD's with Snuggles who looks at the songs (all karaokee) and decides to just get all four. Chyna, Mom Kitty and Snuggles all chuckle and Dixie and Ellie's excitment. What about poodle skirts for those two? Mom Kitty asks and Chyna says that is great! So to the fabric department they go and choose pink and blue for the skirts and black for the poodles. Some how we will find the saddle oxfords. They go to the hoisery and find white bobby socks and then they are joined again by Dixie and Ellie who have already paid for their MP3 players. They find some coloring books for the triplets and washable markers. They go and get some new outfits for the triplets and of course Dixie and Ellie pick out some Hello Kitty for them. Snuggles suggests that they bring the boys for new clothes tomorrow after school and get jeans, white t shirts, white socks for the boys and converse sneakers and penney loafters for them with a black leather belt. Mom Kitty suggests getting black jeans. They like that idea. They find some $5 dvds to get for the family and then they tackle the groceries. They hadn't really done any shopping since the wicked cold. Mom Kitty and the girls take the school supply list to the stationary department and they get some note book paper, some composition books and pencils and pens. They all laugh at the cashier's look when she sees six buggies full of groceries and one buggy being pushed by Ellie full of clothes and school supplies. Snuggles gets her two buggies in line then Mom Kitty gets her two and Chyna and Ellie and finally Dixie. Mom Kitty is so thankful to be part of the family and that Rhudy has a good salary playing hockey. They barely manage to he it all in Snuggles Hummer and Chyna calls and tells Shipo to have the boys ready to help them unload the Hummer. It doesn't take long for the Hummer to be unloaded and groceries put away with everyone helping. Shipo builds a fire in the fireplace and Rhudy is reading the paper and smiling as Dixie and Ellie ask him to help download music onto their MP3 players. He says he will. Dixie gets her laptop and cries when a puff of smoke comes out of her computer and the screen goes dark. Rhudy hugs her and tells her not to worry he will get her a new one tomorrow. Until then she and Ellie will have to share. He kisses her cheek and hugs her and the tears dry. Dixie kisses him good night and she and Ellie go to their room. Trace is thrilled with the CDs and Snuggles says they will work on them tomorrow. He says ok and hugs his sisters good night and all the boys go to their room. Mom Kitty tells the fam

DIXIE PICKS UP KIMBER AND TELLS
her that Winchester will be ok. The grown ups know how to fix a hurt. Snuggles is surprised to hear Dixie sounding so grown up! She quietly goes back to the den and tells the others sitting there. They all thought it was so sweet. Trace sticks his head into the kits room where Dixie and Ellie are and asks Dixie if she would sing with him and the brothers and she says yes and Ellie is so happy for Dixie! She tells Dixie she wishes she could at least carry a tune and laughs! Suddenly Dixie sits up in bed and says "Ellie, you can MC!" and she dashes out of bed and sticks her head into Trace's room and asks if he is awake and he says yes and she asks him if Ellie can MC for the band and Trace says of course! that is a great idea. Dixie goes back to the bedroom and climbs in bed with Kimber and tells Ellie the good news. All of them now have a part with the band to do. The kits and the adults would just have to enjoy the show. Morning comes too fast for the kits. They all stumble out of bed and smell sausage and biscuits cooking. One by one they come to the kitchen. Snuggles is putting the orange juice and milk on the table. Kaycee is pouring the coffee into the mugs and Kimmy and Himmy are buttering biscuits as Mom Kitty puts fluffy scrambled eggs in a big bowl. Chyna is fixing gravy for those who want the gravy. Rhudy, Sweetie and Shilo put the kits in their high chairs and the family sits and eats breakfast after grace is said. Before too long the school bus arrives and the kits all go charging out the door leaving behind jackets. Ohe dear, Snuggles says. She hopes that the weather forecast isn't right about the rain and cooler temps especially since they had all just gotten over the colds. Snuggles and Mom Kitty and Chyna decide to go to Walmart and restock on the supplies for kits and kitchen and to drop off jackets at the school. Kaycee chuckles and tells them to go on that she and the others can handle the fort.

Rhudy helps the ladies clean up
the kitchen along with Sweetie and only coughs a couple of times. He tells Sweetie he did a great job grilling and that it was a capital idea. Sweetie smiles for it is nice to make family happy. He tells Rhudy no problem that it was his pleasure. They all file into the family room and all want to watch a movie. Daddy Rhudy wants to see Smokey and the Bandit and they all agree since Daddy Rhudy was beginning to feel better and had been in the bedroom for so long. As the dialogue goes on the movie Trace and Elvis lip sync the Bandit and Snowman and Dixie does Sally Fields. Rhudy and Kaycee and the kits all crack up! Trace sings the songs too! Anyone can tell that it is the family's favorite movie along with Puss In Boots. Trace tells Daddy Rhudy that next year they were planning on moving Dixie and Ellie ahead a grade for the teacher said she is going to give them their final tests the first week in May and if their grades are as good as she thinks she will dismiss them for the summer and promote them not to the next grade but the following grade. Dixie and Ellie blush. Then Trace said all of them will be out a couple of weeks after the girls. The school wanted him to sing for the school's dance and he said they are doing it in the 50's and early 60's music and he, Elvis, Chase, Patches and Tigger were going to make a band with him singing and Elvis. Hooray! Shipo stands up and spills popcorn everywhere along with his cola which goes all over Dixie and Ellie. All the two girls can do is slowly shake their heads. Momma Kaycee tells them that she is so proud of them. Winchester, Kimber and Colt ask if they can come and hear their brothers sing and Trace says yes but Daddy Rhudy and momma Kaycee have to come too. Kimmy, Himmy, Snuggles, Mom Kitty, Chyna and Shilo tell the girls they are really proud of them that studying pays off. Dixie and Ellie go shower, one in their room and one in Daddy's and Momma's shower for the cola was sticky and they needed to go to bed like the boys. Himmy and Kimmy put the kittens to bed and the adults sit and talk about the horrible thing that happened in Boston.

Dixie and Ellie are busy with decorating
cupcakes they had made with Himmy. They giggle when they goof on making them look like Hello Kitty without ears. Sweetie manages to make five burgers to resemble Hello Kitty and he takes all the burgers and hotdogs outside to grill. Shilo and Patches are really getting into the Nascar game and Chase comes upstairs and says give them five minutes and he goes to the bathroom to wash up. Dixie and Ellie look at each other and wonder if Uncle Shilo would win this time. Then they both shake their heads in unison for no. Everyone is thrilled to see Rhudy out and he says it feels great to be out of the room and dressed. Chyna and Mom Kitty tell Kaycee that they will change the beds of the kits and her's and Rhudy's bed. Daddy! Daddy! Winchester, Colt and Kimber shout and go to sit on the couch with Rhudy. In spite of no ears the Hello Kitty cup cakes are really cute as Dixie and Ellie finish the last one. DANG IT! DANG IT! DANG IT! that darn Tony Stewart! Patches runs upstairs and tells the family that he even tried to blow it so Shilo could win and he still couldn't win! He and Elvis and Tigger and Trace go to their bathrooms to wash up and Shilo comes upstairs with his head and ears drooping. "Supper is ready!" is shouted by Kaycee when Sweetie brings the meat in. They are a whole family again and all are happily chatting.

As many of you know, 17 year old Minnie D Purrl crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 4/2. Minnie was a member of a wonderful family of cats known as the Windy Point Gang.

We’re choosing to copy Dad Mike’s exact words that he used to tell us she had crossed--

“She was losing her battle with Hyperthyroidism and her quality of life had decreased dramatically over the last five days. This afternoon Minnie was assisted by our vet, Dr Madsen and myself on her journey. She was 17 years old when she passed.

It is particularly sad for me because Minnie had given me a litter of seven Easter Kitties when she was only 9 months old. I always celebrated Mother's Day with her on Easter. (Sigh...) This year we celebrated with some baby food that I held for her since she was too weak to stand and eat.

Minnie leaves behind her boyfriend Tiger Mann, who is the last of the original Windy Pointers...and of course, her sad Dad.”

Minnie is now a member of the Windy Point Angels #237234, those members of the Windy Point Gang who are now Angels at the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that this special group of Angels has never received their COTD badge, and we want to change that by making them our COTD winner on 4/6. The loud, strong sneeze makes...
Rhudy groan as he blows his nose. He feels crappy. Sweetie and Shilo say that they will care for the horses and goats and other critters. Little coughs and sneezes are becoming fewer but when Rhudy crashed, it scared the two sick kits and Mom Kitty and Kimmy go and comfort them and they watch some TV. The family has a blast singing three of the songs off of Smokey and the Bandit. Trace sings THEY CALL YOU THE BANDIT and does a great job at doing it. Kaycee wishes that she could get him started singing. She decides secretly to record him singing that song and some of Trace Adkins songs and she would get Patches to make copies and she would send them to whomever. Trace was in his elements singing. She was so proud of him. With her mind made up to just what she plans once she is felling better and has more energy and her husband was better. She stays in the bedroom with him and sponges his face with a cool washcloth. The aroma of barbecue floats through the house and everyone who can smell is making their way to the kitchen. Soon supper is on the table. Sweetie and Shilo want to dig in after cleaning the barn and feeding all the critters but the girls make them go and take a shower promising no would eat until they did. Snuggles makes barbecue sandwiches for the two kits and Kaycee who doesn't want to leave Rhudy. Rhudy who helped and worked so hard when everyone was so sick. A tear rolls down her cheek as she kisses his hot cheek. She says a prayer for her husband so dear and kind and sweet. The family is quiet as they eat the delicious meal. Mom Kitty takes the sandwiches to the kits and laughs as they wipe the sleep from their little eyes and dig in. Tigger and Trace go downstairs and play air hockey before going to bed for tomorrow was school. Dixie, Ellie and Kimber go to bed. They are worried about Daddy Rhudy as is everyone else. Shilo banks the fire and one by one they all go to bed and a long night of waiting begins for a sick Kaycee taking care of her husband and Mom Kitty and Kimmy taking care of them both.

With the toad gone..
life in the house returns to normal, well almost. The kits are still sneezing and coughing some and Kaycee still coughs. What a time to get a cold, Kimmy thinks. Right at Easter and the kits couldn't participate in the church's activities for them. The kits are all disappointed. Snuggles and Himmy got to sit on the couch and watch TV as night settles. Chyna and Kimmy and Mom Kitty had shooed them out of the kitchen. Kimber, Dixie and Ellie are all in the bedroom laughing and coloring in their coloring books and the boys are downstairs playing air hockey or pool. Elvis and Tigger are disappointed they can't join the family and watch "Smokey And The Bandit" with the volume a bit loud because of stopped up ears. Dixie smiles and finds Shipo's copy of the movie and ask if they can watch it too, on the big TV. Everyone is happy and soon the whole house is watching the silly Burt Reynolds movie, eating popcorn and drinking soda. The kits didn't have school but they had been well behaved because of the ones that were sick. Mom Kitty tells Kaycee,who is in the recliner, how impressed she is with the kits manners. She tells them that some kits lived in their apartment building and how rowdy they were all the time. Kaycee smiles and says that the family has been well blessed. Soon after the movie they all go to bed. Winchester and Colt cough and sneeze thru the night and Kaycee for the first time since getting sick, sleeps thru the night. Morning comes and they all sleep in but for Shilo and Rhudy. Rhudy tells Shilo that because the kits were so good yesterday he was letting them sleep in. The two make quick work of feeding the animals and looking them over for cuts before turning them out again. I do hope that the girls have fixed bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast. Shilo chuckles and they walk to the house.

Rhudy sends Shilo out to the barn
along with Sweetie who hands the container with the toad in it to Trace, who promptly puts the container in his back pack waiting by the door so Chyna won't faint again. Snuggles is still sleeping as it Himmy and the kits and Elvis and Tigger. Mom Kitty smiles and tells Chyna and Kimmy that she loves being with the family and Shilo is just an added spice in life. The bus honks it's horn and the kits are all scrambling to get into their coats and grab their back packs and they going running down the steps and the driveway. Mom Kitty tells them that they are all the sweetest kits she had ever met. Chyna and Kimmy take pride in that. Rhudy brings out Kaycee's plate and tells everyone that she is sleeping again but she ate everything! He puts the plate in the dishwasher after rinsing it off. Shilo and Sweetie come back from the barn as the day sun finally shows itself after 7:30a. Rhudy tells Shilo that they would be going to the barn in the dark and so will the kits but only with an adult. Shilo says he understands. Later in the morning Snuggles and Himmy come out of their rooms dressed in sweats but feeling some better. Chyna says since the adults were exposed more to the germs that was why it was taking them longer to get well. Snuggles smiles and tells her it is because we are older! they all laugh and the day goes by quickly and Snuggles and Himmy put cookies and milk out on the table. Sneezes can be heard coming from Elvis's and Tigger's room and Winchester's and Colt's room. Kaycee comes out dressed in sweats also and sits beside Rhudy on the couch and Snuggles, Himmy, Chyna start supper as Mom Kitty and Kimmy take care of the sick ones. Dixie is excited as her picture and Ellie's both made the final cut to be judged Friday at school. Trace comes in and laughs about the toad getting lose in science class but they had fun and the teacher turned him loose at the end of the day. Kaycee joins her family at the table for supper with Kimmy and Mom Kitty feeding Winchester and Colt. Trace pours his back pack out on the table and loads of cards pour out and then to Trace's horror that toad jumps out and Chyna faints and Snuggles and Himmy scream. Mom Kitty and Kimmy nearly drop the dishes when Shilo and Sweetie chase the toad under the couch with Kaycee on it who is saying a prayer to please not let the thing jump onto the couch. Trace quickly tells Rhudy that someone had to had carried it back in and put it in his backpack and Patches said another kit call Snicks put something in his back pack but didn't think nothing of it. Rhudy doesn't punish the boys this time. They hear a crash and Kaycee scream as the toad jumps onto the coffee table and she gets up and runs to the bedroom, slammin the door. Rhudy yells for Shilo to please catch the toad! One broken vase was enough! The toad hops in front of Rhudy who bends down to catch it as Shiloh leaps and crashes into Rhudy...

With Elvis and Tigger coming down
the cold Rhudy gives a silent thanks that he hasn't come down with it yet and that Sweetie and Mom Kitty have moved in them. Kaycee is so glad to get out of the room for a while. The girls are all surprised to see Tigger and Elvis being escorted to their room and they go OH NO! Kaycee sees their dresses and likes the dresses that they had bought. She loves the dress that they had all picked for her and the sandals too! Yawning Kaycee goes back to bed and Kimber is delighted that they model their dresses for her. She claps with excitement and glee. Finally the new dresses are hung up and the shoes put away. New purses are put away with the shoes in the top of the closets. Shilo builds a fire in the fire place as the night is getting colder. They hear sneezes and coughs coming from Elvis's and Tigger's room. Mom Kitty fixes them some ice cream and Snuggles takes the boys some Kleenex and Puffs and cough drops. Then she goes to bed and is followed by Himmy. Though they feel better they tire easily. Mom Kitty begins a x stitch and Sweetie starts to read a suspense story and Rhudy and Shilo share the newspaper. Kimber is on the couch with Dixie and Ellie playing a card game. Kimber says to no one in particular that she will sure be glad when this stupid cold is gone and everyone can be together again. Rhudy says Amen. Sweetie goes downstairs and Patches is still sleeping soundly and he carries him up and puts him in his bed. Kimber announces that tonight she will sleep with Dixie and Dixie smiles and says that is okay. Ellie groans as she loses another hand to Kimber and Dixie laughs for she had lost almost as many as Ellie. Time for you girls to go to bed Rhudy tells them and Mom Kitty and Kimmy got to tuck them in. Then he tells the boys that it is time for them to go to bed too. Before he goes to bed he tells Rhudy that he is glad that he can help Kimber learn to sing better. He giggles and says it is fun to be around her and the two other kits. Night Daddy Rhudy and Trace goes to his room and Rhudy has tears running down his cheeks. I love this family so very much and so proud of them all. Sweetie tells Rhudy that is nice to finally have a family to belong to. Shilo and Sweetie then go and tuck the boys in. Kimmy tells Rhudy that they are blessed indeed. Chyna and Mom Kitty go to the kitchen and finish cleaning up and decide to have toast, eggs and bacon and for some reason Mom Kitty opens the fridge and screams! A nearly frozen toad hops out of the fridge! Shilo comes running and apologizes for the toad that he was trying to keep for Elvis and Tigger and Chase to take to school! But the toad is gone, hidden in the kitchen and Chyna tells Shipo to find the doggone thing immediately and put it outside! Mom Kitty sits down and looks at Rhudy and Sweetie, who had come to her rescue, Life is NOT going to be boring around here and I am going to love it! Other than sniffling some and
and an occasional sneeze Snuggles and Himmy are geeling much better but they grumble about feeling tired. They are looking forward to going dress shopping. Snuggles wants a dress that has a floral look to it and sleeveless. Himmy laughs and says that was what she was thinking for herself! Snuggles laughs and tells her to go for it as long as they are a bit different she didn't mind. Mom Kitty sits at the table and says she wants a print but not a floral and the girls talk on getting excited about dress shopping and getting the guys suits. Sweetie comes and fixes a half of another turkey sandwich and goes to the game room to watch the boys play pool and air hockey. He talks Trace into a game of ping pong and they are worthy challengers for each other. Laughter floats up from downstairs and it makes Rhudy smile. He certainly hopes that the kits are able to participate in the Easter program and parade at the church. Kaycee says she is feeling better he tells Himmy. Mom Kitty says Chyna is feeling a lot better and she feels she is able to join the family tonight. She no longer has a fever and should do ok. Kaycee has a light fever but a positive and loving attitude and wants to join her family soon. Colt and Winchester are doing fine keeping entertained with coloring books and the little TV that Rhudy had taken in the room for them. Elvis comes upstairs and gets the old afghan off of the couch and smiles and tells everyone that Patches fell asleep on the couch. Soon all the girls are headed out to do some shopping with Snuggles, Himmy and Chyna armed with tissues in their hand bags. Kimmy says she will drive and she goes to her new Chevy Suburban and gets in. She laughs and tells the girls it was the biggest car on the lot for our family. Goodness we must sound like the Duggars in Nineteen and counting! and the girls all laugh and the shopping trip begins.

Sweetie settles into his room ...
and Mom Kitty settles into hers and they tell Kimmy the sheets are just fine. Sweetie and Mom Kitty assure everyone that it was no problem closing out their apts. since the rental lease was a month by month agreement. The landlord told them he might try renting the apts. as furnished apts. Mom Kitty enjoys having Kimber help her unpack and Sweetie was already unpacked and laughed at something one of the boys told him. Supper is a turkey that Kimmy slow roasted and she saves the broth for some soup for Kaycee. She has fixed some soup that was frozen in the freezer for her and the kittens tonight. They have turkey sandwiches and chips for supper. Snuggles and Himmy join them at the table and they tell everyone how they had missed eating at that huge Amish table. Himmy makes a sandwich for Kimber after washing her paws really well. Kimber is so happy that her two Aunties are back at the table but she misses Chyna. Snuggles asks Dixie and Ellie to show her and Himmy their new Easter dresses that Shilo bought them. They run to their bedroom and get the dresses out of their closets since Snuggles and Himmy had been asleep when they had gotten back home. Dixie had picked a pretty off white dress with a bow in the back and short sleeves and white sandals. Ellie had picked a baby blue short sleeve dress with a rose on the middle of the dress. Her shoes were black sandals. Shilo tells Snuggles and Himmy that he tried to tell the girls to get shoes but they wanted sandals. Snuggles tells Shilo they can go buy some shoes later when she is feeling better if the weatherman says it is going to be too cold for sandals. She and Himmy tell the girls they did a great job picking out their dresses and asks if they thanked Shilo for them and they say yes and Shilo confirms they did. Kimber then runs and gets her dress which is in Dixie's and Ellie's room. It is a pink dress with puffed short sleeves and ties in the back. He had picked out pink patent leather shoes. You did a great job Kimber. Kimber smiles and climbs onto Snuggles lap and Snuggles tells them they all did a great job. Kimber asks Snuggles and Himmy what they are going to wear and they laugh, telling her they didn't know! Shilo holds out two other little dresses he picked out for Colt and Winchester and hopes they like them and that they might make them feel a bit better. Kimmy takes the dresses and shows them. Colt picked the pale green and Winchester wanted the yellow one. Kimmy comes out smiling and tells Shilo for all he does wrong he didn't goof on the dresses for the girls loved them. Rhudy lights a fire and goes check on his wife who is sleeping peacefully. He silently prays for no more trips to the hospital. He and Shilo settle down to read the paper and Mom Kitty comes in and says "LOOK WHAT I FOUND!" Sweetie is having a hard time keeping a straight face as she gives Dixie and Ellie Hello Kitty sheets and comforters and she gives Kimber a stuffed Hello Kitty doll

PLS VOTE MILLIE #60253 COTD 3/16
We decided to travel to Ireland to find a fine Irish Kitty to be our St. Patrick’s Day COTD on March 17th! And, lo and behold, we found a family of cats who have been CC members for over five years. Millie #60253 is the Queen of this family. She came to live with her Mom after her Mom’s dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her Mom’s sister brought Millie to her as a gift to help her heal. Millie was joined later by a brother Dinny and a sister Rihanna. She loves to explore the great outdoors and is quite an escape artist. Who could blame her wanting to spend time in the beautiful Irish fields and gardens? Let’s make this a very special St. Patrick’s day for Millie and her family by leaving her a vote on Saturday so she can become our St. Patrick’s Day COTD!

Mom Kitty and Sweetie drive off
to close out their apartment. Chase sneezes and Tigger has to move out and sleep on the inflatable mattress in the living room. He laughs and says it is like camping but he doesn't have to worry about getting wet! Everyone laughs with him. Kaycee is fussing and giving Rhudy a hard time and he tells her that she is not getting out of bed! Then he throws her a kiss and she tells him to sleep with Tigger and he says no way! You are my wife and I shall sleep with you! If I catch the stupid cold I just catch it! and he is out and going down the hall. Chyna is pouting and mad that she has caught the cold. Dixie and Ellie serve her and Kaycee some of Kimmy's special tea and they leave to return with the Puff's. Rhudy is helping Kimmy in the kitchen as Shilo helps Tigger make the bed. Kimber is telling Dixie and Ellie she will sleep with both of them. Dixie one night and Ellie the other and Dixie and Ellie smile and laugh and so does Kimber who decides she will sleep with Dixie tonight. Sweetie and Mom Kitty carry in their possessions and tell Rhudy they told the landlord to sell the furnishings, not that they were worth much. They take their things to their rooms and return to help with Kaycee and Chyna, Chase and Winchester and Colt. The kittens are fast asleep as Mom Kitty leaves some Kleenex for them and Chase is asleep also and she puts some Kleenex in his room. Chyna and Kaycee are watching TV on the TV's in their rooms. The house settles down and the kits all go to bed for school and Tigger stretches out on that inflatable mattress set close to the fireplace but not too close. He is out in no time and Shilo tells Rhudy he needed to time that to see if it was a record. Kimmy sits down and reads and Rhudy and Shilo share the newspaper. Rhudy and Shilo wonder if this stupid cold will be done with this round.

Kaycee is
happy when Snuggles and Himmy finally join the family again after a couple of days. Both girls tell Kaycee that they are weak but feeling better. They go into the family room and sit down to watch TV with the boys as Chyna and Mom Kitty and Kimmy fix supper and Kaycee gets the table ready and the kittens with some help from Elvis and Patches. Chatter is happy around the kitchen. Snuggles comes into the kitchen and tells all that it feels good to be out of the bed and wearing clothes. Kaycee and Kimmy decide that they will change the beds for Snuggles, Himmy and Patches and that clean beds will help them feel better. Rhudy finally convinces the kittens accidents happen and often excitement does lend to accidents and that it was no big deal. The kittens are all relieved. Dixie and Ellie help with the cooking and the meat loaf and smashed potatoes are soon ready and Dixie asks her if the secret ingredients are in there and she assures them that they are and laughs. Mom Kitty doesn't want to leave this delightful and warm home. Sweetie doesn't either but neither wants to ask if they can stay. Mom Kitty almost cries when she thinks about their time as almost being over. After supper Dixie and Ellie help Patches with his homework for Dixie is a whiz at English, spelling and history, in fact she is at Patches level in those subjects as is Ellie. Elvis and Trace help him with the math and science. Trace comes into the family room and sits down with the kittens and asks them if they would want him to give them voice lessons. They jump up and hug him, knocking Trace over and he is laughing. Snuggles and Himmy are laughing and coughing but they cover their mouths and know that they are not contagious after three days on antibiotics. Kaycee and the family are glad that things are slowly returning to normal after the moster cold. Is it or is it not over?

Neither Himmy nor Snuggles
wake up when the cue ball crashes thru the window. Rhudy tells Shilo to go out in the garage and see if there is a piece of board left over from all of the building and he would go out and put it in the window but he would need his help cutting it to size and holding it when he hammered it in. Rhudy tells the kittens that is okay, that accidents do happen and not to worry about it that glass is replaceable and they will have a new piece of glass in by Monday. Rhudy and Shilo go out to fix the window and Mom Kitty and Chyna sweep up the glass and Kaycee vacuums up what the brooms didn't get. Kimmy comforts the kittens and suddenly they hear male laughter outside the broken window, after the guys had placed the board in the windown and made it secure. Rhudy and Shilo are laughing so hard that tears run down their cheeks. They come inside and Rhudy puts the white cue ball on the pool table and kisses the kittens. What was so funny they ask. Rhudy tells them when he and Shilo found the cue ball it just tickled their funny bones and the laughter helped them with the stress of everyone being sick. Kaycee tells everyone to wear house shoes in the game room for a couple of weeks just in case she and the girls missed any glass. Rhudy kisses her as she walks by. Kaycee smiles and kisses him. The kittens giggle. Supper time comes and Chyna has fried some chicken and Mom Kitty fixed some mashed potatoes and made some potato soup for Snuggles and Himmy who were awake and wanting some of Kimmy's tea. Kimmy is fixing some for them as ice tea and takes it to them as Mom Kitty carries two fragrant bowls of potato soup by Kaycee who follows with some crackers and meds that are due. Kaycee asks Mom Kitty what was in the soup and she smiles telling her it was chicken and some secret ingredients. It is a hit with Himmy and Snuggles, they eat two bowls apiece. Not a bite of food is left from supper. The kittens work on making their get well baskets with help from Mom Kitty, Chyna and Kaycee. Kimmy gets the dishes and dishwasher going as Shiloh builds a fire in the fire place. The boys go downstairs and play pool and air hockey and Dixie and Ellie play ping pong.

Rhudy sends Sweetie and Chyna home.....
while he and Mom Kitty stay at the hospital with Snuggles and Himmy. They sleep in the lobby sitting up awaiting the morning. Rhudy is so proud of the kittens for being so caring and thinking about Winchester, Kimber and Colt he drifts off to sleep with his head lying on top of his sister's, Mom Kitty. Morning breaks with snow falling and bacon aroma fills the house. School is cancelled for the day and the kits are all excited except for the sleeping Patches. In spite of their colds the kittens are hollering for breakfast and Kimmy tells Kaycee that is the best sign ever! They laugh and ask the kittens what they want and they want bacon and toast. An hour later Rhudy calls and tells Kaycee if she and Kimmy and Chyna would mind changing Snuggles and Himmy's beds for the they were all coming home! That Snuggles and Himmy both had what Patches had and he had to stop and get the meds filled for both but with time they too, would be ok. Docs told him that it was being exhausted from caring for all and it just caught up with them. They all get busy with cleaning the rooms up for the girls and the kittens draw get well cards and Kaycee tells them that they should be getting them! They say no for they just have colds and weren't as sick as Himmy and Snuggles. Kaycee hugs the three and kisses them. Another hour later Snuggles and Himmy are home and Rhudy laughs along with Mom Kitty. Kaycee looks at her husband and asks what is so funny. "They wanted Big Macs from McDonald's! Just like Patches!" and he laughs at the sheepish looks on Himmy's and Snuggles' faces. Mom Kitty and Rhudy help Snuggles and Himmy to their rooms and Kaycee, Kimmy and Chyna help them change into clean jammies and tuck them into fresh beds. Kimmy goes and brings them some of her special tea and the family once again feels whole. Kaycee hands them the cards from the kittens and from the older kits. Snuggles tells Kaycee to tell the kittens she is already feeling better and Himmy says to tell them the same for her. As Mom Kitty and Chyna prepare lunch Shilo builds a fire in the fire place and turns on the TV with low volume and goes to check on Snuggles and Himmy and finds they are soundly sleeping. He hopes that this cold has run its course in this family and says a little prayer.

Kaycee goes to check on Himmy
and Snuggles. Both are sound asleep. She tells everyone that they need to be quiet as possible. Kimmy keeps her tea on the stove on simmer so that if Snuggles or Himmy or Patches wants some it is there. Patches is watching some TV and working on his English home work that the teacher sent. Elvis says he will take it in for him to see if it is done right. Chyna, Mom Kitty return from the store loaded with stuff for fighting the cold that doesn't want to leave the family alone! Chyna tells Kaycee that Winchester sneezed most of the way home and started to cough. The pharmacist gave them the stuff that should help the kittens. Kaycee and Kimmy put the kittens to bed and Himmy rings the little bedside bell and Mom Kitty answers her and then goes to the stove and pours some of Kimmy's tea. They talk some before Mom Kitty leaves the room and then she rushes to tell Rhudy she thinks Snuggles is another case like Patches and that someone should take her to the ER for her fever was warm and she was wheezing when breathing. Rhudy tells Kaycee that he and Mom Kitty are taking Snuggles to the ER. Making sure she is decent and has a robe on, Mom Kitty carrying Kleenexes and Rhudy carrying his sister they head off to the ER. Patches is worried as are Elvis, Trace, Tigger and Chase and Dixie and Ellie. Dixie and Ellie begin to cry and Kaycee hugs them and tells them that Snuggles will be ok. Kimmy and Chyna are afraid to for when is this horrid cold going to leave them all alone? Shilo says it is just going to have to run it course and then Himmy rings the bell and tells Chyna she should go to the ER too for her fever isn't going down and she is wheezing like Patches did. Chyna bundles her up and Sweetie carries her to the waiting car and Chyna and Sweetie take Himmy to the ER. Kimmy tells Kaycee she could see why they were so sick after taking care of five sick kitties. But somehow Kaycee knew that no one else would be sick after the kittens and only sweet little Winchester would get the cold but a mild version like Dixie, Ellie, Shilo and Trace. They begin on the long, long wait into the night for news from the ER.

Himmy is sent to her room.....
and Kaycee takes her temperature and she has a slight fever. Trace and Shilo are happy to be out of their room. Trace even returned to school. Dixie and Ellie work on their home work and get it done so they can play with the kittens. Snuggles and Chyna quietly go to check on Patches and he is watching the AMAZING DR.POL on Nat'l Geographic and asks if he can have some more of Kimmy's good hot tea and some cookies please. He coughs and smiles sheepishly and tells him he is ok and they won't catch what he has. Snuggles and Chyna say of course and go to tell Kimmy that he wants some more of her tea. Kimmy smiles and rises to go fix it for Patches and she fixes him some cookies along with some tea for Himmy. Snuggles goes and showers and Chyna is next in line as Rhudy goes to their room and showers. He gets his camera after he gets out and dresses, and snaps some photos of the kittens and Ellie and Dixie playing CANDYLAND in front of the fireplace and then he takes some of his lovely Kayce reading. Snuggles is listening to her MP3 player and doing a crossword puzzle in a lady's magazine and everyone else is watching TV. He thinks life is good even with this cold making his family members sick, he wouldn't trade it for nothing. The next morning the aroma of bacon wakes the kits from sleep except Patches and Himmy. Snuggles is in bed sneezing and coughing and it leaves Chyna, Kimmy and Rhudy taking care of the cooking. Rhudy is glad the horses are out in the pasture and there are no stalls to muck but tonight they go up because it is going to be so cold. Rhudy tells the girls one of them needs to go to the grocery store and get some soup and tea and more Puffs and Kleenex. Kaycee says that she will go unless Kimmy or Chyna want to go. Chyna just tells her to bring some help! A knock sounds on the door and Kaycee cautiously opens it and it is Mom Kitty! Beautiful and healthy Mom Kitty! She asks if they have an extra bedroom and they say yes downstairs in the game room were two spare rooms! Have your pick! Mom Kitty says that she had heard the kits and now Snuggles and Himmy. Snuggles had called her and told her. Sweetie comes up the drive limping with his cane and he tells them that Snuggles told him that morning they needed help for she too, was sick. Sweetie tells Rhudy he may use a cane for walking when out but in a house he was ok. Rhudy tells him about the second room downstairs. Mom Kitty and Sweets tell them they will go back to their home when everyone is well. Chyna is so relieved and grateful that she breaks down and cry. Since it is Saturday the mail lady brings a big box from Texas.

Rhudy carries a tired and sleepy
Patches into his bedroom and Snuggles and Chyna tuck him in and he is out like a light. Kaycee giggles and tells them that he wanted a Big Mac for lunch. She ate the cake and drank the Kool aid and Patches drank the milk from the hospital lunch tray and the nurse was happy and let them go! She ate one of the kiddy burgers and Patches devoured the Big Mac and Coke. Kaycee tells Rhudy she can't believe she did that but Rhudy smiles and kisses her, telling her she did it out love for Patches. Together they go back to the family room where everyone is there. He tells Dixie and Ellie they aren't going back to school until Monday to make sure they are completely better. But he expects them to do their school work that Elvis and Tigger brings them. The girls nod yes. Then he and Kaycee take turns telling the kits what is wrong with Patches and that he needs medications and rest to get better. That he would probably miss half of a month of school and he needed them all to keep Patches spirits up and help with the school work. He tells Kimber, Winchester and Colt that he can join the family some after he begins to feel better because of the antibiotics that he is on will keep his germs from spreading. The kittens shout with joy. Kayce laughs and hugs the little darlings. Then she hugs Dixie and Ellie and tells them she is glad that her girls are better. Snuggles, Chyna, Himmy and Kimmy are busy fixing supper and aroma of fried chicken,potatoes and peas and biscuits make the house smell good and makes it feel warm until a dainty sneeze is heard...Kaycee panics when she hears antoher dainty sneeze and Snuggles laughing when she announces "DARN PEPPER!" and everyone laughs, making Snuggles smile and Kaycee sighing a sigh of relief.

Dixie and Ellie are released from
quarantine and poor Patches get hauled to the ER for he is really feeling bad and he confides in Snuggles that it feels like he can't get enough air. Snuggles told Kaycee and Rhudy and Rhudy and Kaycee take him to the ER. Snuggles and Chyna agree to keep Dixie and Ellie home until for a couple more days to make sure they over the colds. Colt, Kimber and Winchester are so happy that the girls have been released from prison! Dixie and Ellie know they can't say quarantine and laugh when they call it prison. Snuggles takes the kits and Dixie and Ellie to the kitchen and makes some tea that warm to the little ones and hot for Dixie and Ellie. "Drink up my loves. It is Russian Tea and very good for you." It is a hit with the girls and Snuggles, Chyna, Himmy and Kimmy all join them at the table and the time creeps by. Lunch is a sandwich and for supper it is Chinese as none are in the mood to cook. Everyone is worried about Patches. Himmy had told Trace and Shilo and even they are quiet. Finally the phone rings and it is Kaycee. Rhudy was coming home but she was staying with Patches for the night at the hospital for he had bronchitis/walking pneumonia and the docs were giving him medicine and she says he is already beginning to feel some better. The doctor was going to release him at lunch time tomorrow. He also said if they had waited another day he would have had pneumonia." Snuggles goes and tells the kittens but Dixie and Ellie are asleep on the couch together. Then Tigger, Elvis and Chase are told and finally Shilo and Trace and everyone is happier. The kittens want to go to Walmart and get Patches something special and Chyna and Snuggles tell them to make WELCOME HOME PATCHES signs in the morning and she and Snuggles will go and get him something from them. They tell her they want him to have a big teddy bear! The girls all laugh and put the kittens in bed and carry Ellie and Dixie to theirs and softly close the door. They all plop down on the couch as Rhudy comes into the house.

Sounds of the Daytona 500..
come out of Patches and Shilo's room. With their ears being somewhat stopped up the TV is a bit louder. Rhudy, the girls and the three healthy boys are all watching the race in the family room on the big TV. Giggles can be heard from Dixie and Ellie's room as the watch it also and act silly. Snuggles wonders what everyone would like to eat for she feels the girls and Trace and Shilo can eat normal food now. Patches is still so stopped up and just doesn't want to eat. Chyna wonders if they should take him to the doctor tomorrow in case his is bronchitis. Snuggles, Himmy, Kimmy and Kaycee agree as does Rhudy for they are concerned about him. Snuggles laughs about poor Trace having to change diapers for a month in the silly bet that he lost to Shilo. Chyna says that is Shilo for you! Rhudy suggests ordering some KFC and getting three buckets and sides and Chyna or Himmy can go with Snuggles to pick it up. Snuggles grins and says whoever is going better step up for we will have some hungry kits in a bit! Kaycee says she will make some iced tea and of course there is plenty of Sprite and Coke and Pepsi. Himmy jumps up and volunteers and they laugh at Chyna's sad face and Snuggles says come on anyway Chyna! and Chyna jumps up and all three girls are out the door in a flash. Kaycee and Kimmy don't blame them and Winchester, Colt and Kimber begin to cry for they wanted to go too! Kimmy takes them to the kitchen and entertains them by coloring with them. Kaycee asks Rhudy about letting Dixie and Ellie out quartine tomorrow and he says ok. But Shilo and Trace have to stay in quarantine until about Thursday. He tells Kaycee he will go to the school and see if he can get the homework for the girls and Patches and Trace but don't let the girls return to school until they are 100%. Kaycee kisses his cheek and he kisses her. Who will take Patches to the doctor? Kaycee tells him she will and she kisses his cheek and goes to the kitchen to make some tea and play with the three little ones.

Darn Darn Darn !
Snuggles comes into the kitchen and tells Kaycee she has to go and pick up Patches for he is sneezing and coughing and is so stopped up that the teacher thought she had better send him home. Kaycee wearily shakes her head and tells Snuggles to go and get Patches. She takes a plastic bag for kleenexs and a box of Kleenex with her. An hour later she is home and she sends Patches to his room. Snuggles tells Kaycee she sure hopes Patches is the last of the colds for the house. Kaycee, Chyna, Himmy, and Kimmy all agree. Rhudy asks Snuggles if she can help with the horses and she wearily gets up and goes to change clothes and joins her brother in the barn and together they get the horses and goats fed. Rhudy calls Outback and orders some food for those who are well. Kaycee feeds the sick more homemade vegetable soup as Ellie had requested. She is feeling better. Kaycee says to give it a couple more days and she can join the family again. Dixie hugs Kaycee and thanks her for the soup and tells her to tell the others thank you. Patches is asleep so Kaycee let's him sleep and Trace and Shilo are awake playing a game of cards and blowing their red noses. Snuggles tells them it is time to go shopping again for Kleenex and Puffs. They all figure she is just wanting to get out. Chyna and Himmy want to go too and they all climb into Snuggles Hummer. They laugh and pile the Kleenex and Puffs into a buggy and get some stuff for the sick kits and Shilo. Vitamins and Cold Ez in case the adults come down with the cold. Snuggles smiles "let's get Colt,Kimber and Winchester to draw and color pictures for the girls and boys. Or make collages using magazine pictures of warm and sunny places." the trio quickly went to where the mags were and bought several magazines and some poster board.

In spite of the colds...
Kaycee smiles when she hears Dixie and Ellie laughing about a funny paragraph in a book. Shilo is in his room and wishing he had something to do! He plumps up his pillows and settles in to watch some TV as a big sneeze rips from him and his nose begins to stop up big time. Snuggles checks the girls for Kleenex and Trace before sticking her head into Shilo's room and tossing him a couple of boxes. Since Elvis and Trace share a room, Elvis tells Rhudy to let Trace watch the TV since he is sick. Patches and Tigger go downstairs and play some air hockey as Chase struggles with the math. Rhudy sits down beside him and helps him with the math for the next hour. Trace thanks Elvis through the closed door for letting him use the TV. Himmy sits down and Kimmy and Kaycee play with Winchester and Kimber but Colt sits between Snuggles and Chyna and tells them she wishes Dixie and Ellie didn't have to be sick and she begins to color and talks Chyna and Snuggles into coloring with her. Rhudy settles down to read the newspaper. "I do hope that no one else gets this dratted cold. Glad that no one has to share a bathroom either." Rhudy says to no one in particular. Snuggles agrees as does Himmy, Kimmy and Chyna. Kaycee says she will go in the morning and get the school work and stock up on some Kleenex as Shilo sneezes loudly from his room.

Kimber, Colt and Winchester all slide
small homemade get well cards under Dixie's and Ellie's door and then Trace's. Snuggles, Chyna and Himmy decide they will be ones taking care of the sick kits and Kimmy and Kaycee can care for the young kits. Shilo tells Himmy that he will take her place and take care of his niece Dixie. Snuggles chuckles and says she will take care of Trace and Chyna smiles because she has Ellie. Homemade chicken noodle soup simmers on the stove giving a pleasant aroma to the house. They all hope that no one else will catch the cold as Kaycee goes around spraying door knobs with Lysol. Patches and Chase, Tigger and Elvis are downstairs in the game room playing pool while Kimber, Colt and Winchester color at the table wishing that Dixie was well. Rhudy, feeling sorry for Dixie and Ellie and Trace says he will order pizza for supper. Snuggles sticks her head in Trace's room and finds he is asleep and the same in Dixie's and Ellie's room. She tells the others that they are asleep. Snuggles bundles up along with Kaycee to go grocery shopping. Smiling Snuggles suggests buying some DVDs for the sickies and a special dessert and Kaycee smiles and off to Walmart they go.

Dixie sneezes again and is
is so sad because she has Ellie's cold. Kaycee, Snuggles, Chyna, Himmy and Kimmy just hope that Kimber, Winchester and Colt don't get their colds. Kimmy brings some OJ in and tells Dixie to drink up and she helps her change into her Hello Kitty pjs. The girls will have to watch TV in their room. Dixie asks Kimmy if she would buy her a couple of books when she goes out. Kimmy tells she would and a couple of horse magazines and Dixie and Ellie smile. Himmy brings in a couple of boxes of Kleenex. Kaycee comes in and tells the girls they will bring them their supper on trays and to hang in there for a cold only lasts about four days. Then suddenly they hear Trace sneeze and cough and he is ordered to bed and Rhudy goes and gets the older TV and rigs it up in Trace's room for his and Elvis's TV is dead. Rhudy makes a note to buy him a TV and tells Elvis he is to sleep on the inflatable mattress in the living room while Trace is sick. Snuggles, Chyna and Himmy get busy making home made veggie soup for the family and soon the house smells warm and delicious. Shilo feels badly for making the kits cry and he goes and sets the table and gets the high chairs ready for the kits. When supper is ready, the table is empty without Trace, Dixie and Ellie but the sneezing coming from two rooms can be heard thru shut doors. Rhudy tells the girls if they want to go to Walmart to get ready after supper. It is decided Snuggles, Kimmy, Rhudy and Shilo will go. They can hear Dixie crying about having to stay inside and not seeing her horse. Elvis and Patches stop outside the door and tell the girls that all will be ok and that they will take care of the horses for them. At Walmart Rhudy buys a TV for Trace and Himmy and Snuggles buy several books for the girls and magazines and a new Hello Kitty stuffed toy for each. They find a couple of books for Trace and a couple of country music mags for him and a new pillow for they had noticed his pillow was yellow and flat and they find a NASCAR sheet set for him. Snuggles goes and get some cough drops and several boxes of Kleenex and some decongestant for the big kits and they laugh about the large amount of Kleenex's Snuggles buys but she tells them she is sure that the cold will hit a couple more kits before it is thru.

Rhudy and Shilo get home when the school bus
lets the kits off. Ellie isn't with them and Shilo sighs feeling sorry for her. Colds were miserable. He hoped that Dixie didn't get it since she shared the room with Ellie. Rhudy laughs about being stopped by his own family getting off of the bus. Since he and Shilo had taken the pickup they give the kits a ride up the long driveway in the back of the truck. The kits all pile out quickly and fly up the steps that go onto the porch beside the kitchen. They smell peanut butter cookies baking and the stampede goes into the kitchen. Snuggles and Chyna put the cookies on the table and Himmy and Kimmy pour cold, fresh milk in glasses and Kaycee takes some cookies and milk to Ellie. They hear a sneeze, then two come from the bedroom followed by Ellie blowing her nose. "Got some good news everyone!" Rhudy announces. " Shilo and I found out that the bat cave is a small cave and the contractor had filed that on the county plat of our place. We have the back exit but the main entrance is on the farm behind us. We are on good solid ground. So this log castle is home to us forever!" Dixie and the boys are all excited. Kaycee tells Dixie that Ellie had better stay home but she and Snuggles can go with Chyna or Himmy shopping as long as your homework is done!" Dixie tells Kaycee that she got it done in study hall and on the bus with a little help from Trace on a math problem. Dixie hands the school work to Kaycee for Ellie to do. She also pulls out some get well cards they all made for Ellie in class. They all hear another achoo! come from the room. The kits are excited about shopping with Dixie along and the girls all disappear to Snuggles Hummer and leave for Walmart with the promise to be back for supper. Kaycee says she will order some Chinese. Kaycee wonders if Dixie would like to sleep by the fireplace tonight and decides that she can have the air mattress but with the bedroom door being open she decides the germs are already all over the house. She goes to the phone and orders the Chinese and asks for it to be delivered about six. They say ok

Shilo and Rhudy...
sit at the table and talk but Rhudy tells Shilo that there was no way that the builder of their house didn't know that there was a cave so close by and it wouldn't surprise him that their house was built on the cave but he hopes that it isn't for he and the family love the house and it is home. Trace hears this as he makes a cup of hot chocolate. He sits down beside Rhudy and Shilo says he might as well know. Trace tells them that he believes that the cave goes back into the small hill behind the house and not under it for if it is under it the house can fall into that cave. He tells them about the rest stop nearest them and that it is built on a cave and tractor trailers can't stop there to use the facilities but the cars, buses and building are okay but they keep an eye on everything. They all agree not to tell the girls or the boys about the problem. Trace tells them to go check with the county and see if they have a plat showing their house and land tomorrow since they lived in both the city and county. Rhudy agrees and he and Shilo decide to go in the morning. Trace gets up and pours a cup of leftover hot coffee for both Shilo and Rhudy before disappearing downstairs. "that boy is growing up too fast!" Shilo says and Rhudy shakes his head in agreement. "He is so grown up and yet can be a kit in the drop of the hat." they laugh but they know Trace is more mature than most kits his age. Ellie was bed with the sniffles and Dixie comes upstairs and tells Shilo she really missed going to church. She asks him if he would work a jigsaw puzzle with her and he says of course. They hear a sneeze, then another coming from Ellie and Snuggles and Himmy come upstairs and Himmy pours some orange juice and takes it to her. They hear the boys playing pool and air hockey while Chyna and Kaycee play with Winchester, Colt and Kimber. Rhudy builds a fire in the fireplace and wonders if he will be building many more....

Rhudy and Shilo go to the barn
to talk privately about what he found out and Shilo groans. They both agree not to tell the family about it until they go to town to learn more. They come in and tell Kaycee that they are going to town and will be back in a bit. Kaycee knows that their bit can be all day. The boys are disappointed that Shilo is leaving the game but know that adult business is first. The kits school was closed for the week when the heating system failed. Kaycee, Himmy, Chyna, Kimmy, Snuggles and Kaycee enjoy watching Trace help Winchester play the NASCAR game. Colt and Kimber play with Dixie and Ellie in the living room. They stretch out on the floor in front of the fireplace and laughter is heard. Dixie and Ellie had let Colt and Kimber win the card game they were playing. Colt and Kimber fall asleep on the floor and Dixie and Ellie put pillows from the couch, under their heads and cover them with a blanket. They sit in the living room and look at Rhudy's and Momma Kaycee's wedding photos and Kaycee comes in and sits with them, telling the names of those in the pictures and she tells them where Rhudy proposed and the girls look at her in disbelief. Snuggles comes in along with Chyna as the washer busily washes school clothes. Himmy and Kimmy are baking some peanut butter cookies and the aroma is pleasantly filling the house. Lunch soon comes and go and Kaycee is beginning to wonder what Rhudy and Shilo have found out about their house.....

Rhudy and Kaycee both
decide to let the kits all sleep in because of the inauguration they don't have school. Kaycee decides to let Snuggles, Chyna, Himmy and Kimmy all sleep in for it had been a busy, fun extended weekend for the family. Shilo comes in from feeding the horses and announces that it is cold again. Kaycee looks out the window and sees the wind is blowing. Rhudy and Shilo build a fire in the fireplace and with both realizing that today, no mail or goverment offices being open that they would go and see what they can find out about their house and the cave tomorrow. Kaycee starts the bacon and sausage cooking and prepares the toast as a frumpled looking Snuggles and Chyna sleepily walk into the kitchen followed by Himmy and Kimmy. The rich aroma of coffee fills the kitchen and Shilo joins them in the kitchen and sits at the table as Snuggles offers him a cup of coffee. They try to be quiet so the kits can enjoy their last day home before school tomorrow. Chyna suggests some sort of craft today since it was so windy and cold. Himmy and Kimmy set the table and say that is a good idea. Shilo suggests that they could try putting together a jigsaw puzzle and they all like that idea. Boys can do that NASCAR puzzle and the girls a horse that I bought. Snuggles says that they can do some water colors and the kits begin to come in one by one with Kimber and Colt being carried by Dixie and Ellie and Trace carrying Winchester. Elvis, Patches, Tigger and Chase all come in and all sit at the table and say grace.

Trace, Rhudy, Shilo, Tigger and Chase
all go outside, each holding a flashlight. Dixie told Kaycee and Himmy that it was ok if Kimber slept with her tonight. The boys find a small cave back in the woods and conclude that something woke up the hibernating bat like a fox looking for a den. Sure enough, a little red fox shows it's face briefly and ducks back into it's den. Rhudy says it has to be the back door to the cave. "I hope that our house isn't sitting on the cave or the weight could break down the ceiling!" Tigger says aloud what the others are thinking. "Don't breathe a word of this to the girls until I check the with the county permits and things to see if we are on solid ground Monday." Rhudy tells the others. "We will have to close that opening up so none of the kits fall into that cave." Shilo says and Rhudy agrees. They all agree. Rhudy tells Shilo that they will go to the farm supply store and get some t posts and fencing tomorrow. He hates to miss church but the girls could go and so could the boys while he and Shilo do the work. They go to the house and tell the girls about the cave and the fox. Kaycee motions for Rhudy to follow her and she does and he sees the cutest little picture of Kimber and Dixie curled up sleeping together with Dixie holding Kimber in a loving hug.

Trace silently prays for
the wisdom of using the right words so that he doesn't scare the kittens. "Once upon a time, there lived three little kittens who lived in a big log palace with their huge family. They had Aunts, Uncle, Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters all living in this log palace." The kittens are all totally absorbed in Trace's story. "One day it started to rain, and it rained. The water fo the creek got muddy and high but the family knew that they were safe in the log palace built among the woods. Even though it rained and the creek in their pasture rose, the kits knew they were safe for the log palace was strong! They also knew all the Aunts and brothers and sisters and Uncle and mom and dad would keep them safe and sound and the waters of the creek couldn't do a thing." the kittens looked at him and he quickly says "they lived happily ever after." and Snuggles smiles at her brother and tells him well done when Kaycee and Chyna and Himmy go to tuck them in. Kimmy and Snuggles tuck in Dixie and Ellie even though they don't have to go to school again the next day. Shilo and Rhudy tell Trace his story was great. Something the kittens understood. Shilo and Rhudy tuck the boys in and the adults sit in the family room with a cozy fire going and they talk about Trace's story. Kaycee tells them that the kittens weren't scared at all and went right to sleep. Shilo and Snuggles play a couple games of checkers as Rhudy reads the paper and the girls either crochet or read. It is a peaceful evening in the log palace as Trace called their home. The rain continued to come down and creeks flooded but all was well

The kits are so happy
to have an unexpected day off from school tomorrow. Dixie made Rhudy and Shilo promise to turn the horses out in the upper pasture in case the creek floods higher than it has. Shilo asks Ellie and Dixie if they would like to ride to the farm Supply store and get a water tank and something to keep the water from freezing. The girls jump up and down and Rhudy tells them he is going to drive the Hummer and would any of the boys want to come and they decline but for Trace. Shilo, Rhudy, Dixie and Ellie all pile in Rhudy's Hummer and they leave promising to bring McDonald's burgers back for all. Snuggles, Chyna and Himmy build a fire in the fireplace and get the family interested in singing songs they all know and the kittens are laughing when Kimmy and Kaycee goof on some lyrics and then Snuggles. They are all having a great time until Rhudy and Shilo come back and they say things are getting bad. Shilo goes to the back pasture along with Patches and Tigger to set up the big water tanks they got. Chase goes and prepares the water heaters by putting bumpers on them so that they won't burn holes in the water tanks. The girls all keep the food warm and Dixie and Ellie go out to the Hummer and bring in two huge bags! The girls all have pink jackets with artifical sheep fleece in them. They are light weight like sweatshirts but warm. Even the kittens get a cute jacket! The kittens run and hug Dixie as do the adults for her thoughtfulness. The boys all have black and brown. The family settles when the boys come in and they all sit at the table and grace is said. Snuggles and Chyna include thanks that Dixie and Ellie, Rhudy and Shilo and Trace are home safely.

Everyone is tired as they climb the steps to
the porch. They had all had a blast riding the horses though they couldn't go faster than a walk and some trotting. The kittens are laughing for Snuggles, Ellie and Dixie had held one of them in front of them as they rode. Rhudy announces that they can order Chinese take out or pizza as he and Shilo build a fire in the fireplace. They all shout BOTH! Rhudy, Shilo and Himmy all laugh as they get the menu from the drawer for the Chinese. Kaycee announces that it will Chinese and not BOTH! The boys and girls and kittens all moan. But they all quickly shower and change clothes before the food arrives. Dixie and Ellie talk about Valentine's Day and wonder if they can get their Valentine cards for their classes early. Kaycee had the kittens dressed in one of their new Hello Kitty outfits that the girls had picked out for them. The older kits are not wanting to go to school tomorrow and Kaycee and Rhudy can't blame them but they tell them they have to go and they groan. Snuggles, Himmy, Chyna and Kimmy laugh. Shilo tells them he will surprise with something tomorrow when they get home from school. The whole family goes to the big family room and Dixie and Ellie stretch out on the floor to read and the boys put a movie on the TV. Dixie and Ellie joined them and the night passes with all content and happy

With the last of the cd's mailed
the boys relax and enjoy their Christmas presents from the kits. Winchester, Colt and Kimber's gifts are big hits among the girls and boys. Winchester and Kimber get into a squabble over who is going to sit in Dixie's lap as Colt climbs into Ellie's lap and snuggles up to Ellie who just loves her three baby sisters to death. Dixie tells the twosome that they will have to draw names. Snuggles gets up from the couch and gets Kimber to hold. The fire in the firplace crackles and Shilo is busy trying to beat Tony Stewart again as Patches beats Shilo soundly! Shilo mutters "Kitty Litter" and goes to the kitchen to surprise everyone with some popcorn. Winchester, Colt and Kimber all fall asleep and Snuggles, Dixie and Ellie carry them to their beds. Chyna and Himmy and Kimmy and Kaycee all can't believe how fast Dixie and Ellie are growing up. Rhudy smiles and the boys and girls all pick a movie to watch and pick a Disney movie. Shilo brings in the popcorn and pop and they settle in to watch the Cat From Outer Space.
