How We Met

Lucius was a stray in my parents neighborhood. I first saw him as my husband and I were entering church for my niece's dedication. He was sitting on the steps and looked at me with beautiful light green eyes that spoke volumes.

After the dedication there was a family picnic in my parents back yard (next door.) He came over sniffing for treats and leftover food. By the end of the picnic I was in love with Lucius.

I received word that one of the neighbors had taken him to the vet a few times when he'd gotten sick and that she spread around that she was looking for someone to adopt him.

By Wednesday, three days later, I hadn't been able to stop thinking of him and knew he was meant to be a part of our family. So I went and picked him up at Sandy's and brought him home that day.

Lucius was sick with pneumonia when we first adopted him and continued to be sick off and on for the first 6 months. He is now perfectly healthy thanks to daily vitamins and regular visits to the vet!

He's now a very loved albeit spoiled rotten kitty (and certainly proud of it!!) We lovingly call Lucius a 'Mobster'. When he walks fast he has like this bow legged run, and when we first adopted him he had a patch of hairless skin under his left eye, that added to his mobster look. Now (thanks to an unfortunate 5 month bout of food allergies) he has a matching hairless patch on the same side of face on the side of his nose. We think it only completes his mobster look
