Then, Mom just dropped the opossum. If you looked up my profile and read my nicknames, one of them is Possie. Mom is fascinated with opposums and sometimes she thinks my face is kind of looked like a baby possum. Jessie was born the runt of a litter of 8 kittens that were forced to fight over scraps from a can of cat food. She was malnourished when she was rescued causing health issues early in life. She responded well to her new loving furever home, fighting against the odds to survive and thrive. She would be the only cat from her litter to survive, and to this day she loves to give kitty kisses!!!...At 3 years of age (before being spayed), Jessie gave birth to Teddy, a black cat and Susie, a tuxedo cat. They happily live together with a cool cat named Nipper. Jessie only eats her special kibble (Vet Diet for Kidney function) with at home injections of SubQ IV fluids as needed. Jessie's kidney function results have not been good and she requires occasional fluids to help sustain her. She calmly lets her Mom give her home treatment, purring loudly when done with her shot. She has been eating better and keeping more of her food down. On these "good days" she is alert, happy and moves around a lot. Jessie does one thing without fail! Every morning, she gets up about 15 minutes before the alarm is set to go off and rubs her head against the Alarm Clock, making such noise that her Mom gets up. Jessie's Mom thinks Jessie doesn't like the sound of the noisy alarm and so wakes her up first. However, once Mom is up, Jessie returns to lay down for a rest while her Mom feeds Jessie's kids and Nipper. It is not that Jessie dislikes the sound of the alarm. She just wants her Mom up to feed the other kitties so Jessie can catch some extra peaceful ZZZZ's....shhhh, don't tell!....After you give Jessie #56226 her wonderful Wednesday COTD catpaign vote, please remember to give Gin Gin, the purring engine, #12433 her daily March Madness COTM vote!!!
