How are you today? Yesterday was supposed to be my day to blog (Juju) but I was at the vet for dental cleaning & work. It was good that momcat made the apt, cause it turned out that I did have a dental issue & had to have 3 teeth extracted. No abcesses, just decay & 1 tooth crown broken to the root. 2 Molars & 1 premolar, & vet could not have found this, except to put me under anesthesia (for the deep cleaning exam as planned). I was real groggy last night & am still not myself today. Momcat has to give me antibiotics for a week & watch me & keep me a bit quiet. No fever, but mom has to watch for that to insure all is OK. I did eat & drink this morning, which is a good sign. My sister, Midnight, has the same type apt tomorrow. Sorry to talk so much about just me today. Have a just wonderful day. It certainly is a pain to have to change all those clocks, isn't it! Yesterday just rained buckets here. Mom checked the stream (now a river) next to her condo. It was very high & fast. This morning she got up early to check it out again. Up another foot or so & should continue to rise. Good news it is still safely contained. Rain has stopped this Sun. am, but it is very windy. There is a small (normally 2 foot high) waterfall just a bit down stream. This afternoon, if wind stops, mom wants to put on her boots & take a walk into woods to look at it. Momcat woke up & stretched in bed & she pulled a muscle on her side into her back, so she is hurting a bit, mostly when she takes a deep breath or moves, whichever comes 1st. LOL. What's purring you lately? Today is yard cleaning day. Mom spent the whole morning doing yard work. Work only cut off because of the headache. Being a Mama's boy, I gave my Mom some purr theraphy but there comes this other housemate of mine (not my sibling) who comes running to Mom and gave her a foot theraphy. So, I had to share chicken with her that Mom shredded. I don't mind sharing my food every now and then, but when I'm at work I want Mom's undivided attention. We have vet apts for the week of 3/10(dental care) which is important but we do not like the word vet at all. Our mommie is so good to us and takes the best care of us. Guess what, Lil Grey fell behind the dryer in the kitchen. Momcat tried to retrieve her, no avail, called 911. Before animal rescue showed up mom was able to grab a paw and haul her up to her waiting arms & recalled 911 to cancel the call. It was a harrowing hour!!!!! You should have seen it, Lil Grey crying and strugeling, momcat calling, coaxing and trying to grab a paw and on her back on the floor. Life, it's always something. Hope that you had a wonderful weekend. Momcat dug out her car on Sat morning(Snow), then visited her friends in (the Litchfield Hills) & helped them dig out theirs. They had over a foot of snow. She ran a snowblower for 1st time. She had a nice weekend but tiring and spent an overnight there and did not get home till around 6pm Sunday. It was winter at it's dressed-up best up here. Lots of snow and a Sunshiny Sunday with the trees just sparkeling like diamonds. Loads of birds at all the birdfeeders. They went to a concert on Sunday early afternoon. Mommie is tired. Hope you are having a dry day today (inside). We're expecting about 7-8 inches of snow & ice starting on Friday 7am. My momcat was very proud of herself in solving a problem today. Lil Grey has started to claw/scratch on a few arms of the upholstered furniture. No damage to date, but problem was there. Mom sprayed a cat deterent spray on the arms of the 2 pieces of furniture and also rubbed catnip into the sisel rope on the scratching post. Lil Grey immediately avoided the furniture arms and USED and played with the scratching post (which she had not done before). Mom was delighted. Yes, The sky is lovely blue today here in CT & temp is mild so she had windows open to air out house. Our mommie also goes on combing/brushing streaks with us. She also tells us it is good for us and we like how we look afterwards (don't tell her that). Anyhoo, me & mommie had a nice session in bed this am. Pets and purrs. Momcat started us early on a water bath. She also had, when she was remodeling kitchen, a deep undermount sink put in for the kitchen sink (much easier than trying to do bath in the bathtub). Momcat usually bathes us all once every 1 1/2 months and we are used to it. Don't say we like it, but she is slow and tender and talks to us gently as she wet's us down. Weather has been awful here on Tues (snow) then today, torrential and cold rain. We have all been quiet, mom too, cause this weather does not lend itself to much energy. Momcat did do the 1st pass at her income tax, then set the draft aside to recheck it again in few days, or when the mood strikes her. The stream by our house is running very high and fast with the rain today. She normally can't see the water from her window while she's seated but can tonight. Have a wonderful day. Our momcat usually celebrates my(Midnight) and Juju's birthday on March 25th, now Lil Grey will be included in the 3/25 group. She does not know the actual date we were born. Since 3/25 is her birthday, it is easier for her to say & remember that date, so, it's all our birthdays. So glad you did not have an issue with tornadoes. YES, they can hit in CT on occasion. (Mom says 50 people died per news report tonight in the southeast and south midwest). Such a sad loss. We are also frustrated about CC slowness this past 3 weeks, and especially when a blog does not post. EEECH. Using Copy and Paste more often because of this. They need to get new servers, or at least remove the squirels from the computer room. LOL! Midnight & Lil Grey and just beginning to like each other. There have been friendly play chases and friendly paw swipes and the hisses are almost down to nothing. Me, Juju, just supervises, since I'm the Senior Diva and like to observe fun. Our DVD player was sent south cause they don't make these things to last too long, just past the warranty period! LOL. Here is a cut & paste message to get you started/involved. ::: It's Juju here. Midnight is mulling over the next date with Sunny and dreaming about the 1st one. She told me it was just wonderful. Momcat got Lil Grey home from spay operation today at 10am. She is doing fine and sleeping now. Mom needs to monitor her incision site for a few days, per instructions, but that has never been a problem since her vet is wonderful. Nothing new, elsewise. Just another boring mid-winter day here in CT. Oh, momcat chopped the top of a dumb cane tree which she's had for 6 years. It was getting taller than she was and heavy.
