>^..^<*~ Tyler, the trooper, #124579 is the WED. July 22 COTD candidate! A tiny Tyler was found in a vet’s parking lot in a sealed cardboard box. He was only about 2-3 weeks old. The vet called Tyler’s adopted Mom to see if she would foster this little guy as the odds are stacked against a kitten so young surviving without a feline mom and the human mom must provide everything a cat mom normally gives her kitten. She not only agreed to foster Tyler, she fell in love with him and couldn't let him go!

On Thursday, July 23, Tiny Tyler will celebrate his very 1st Birthday, a major milestone considering his rough start in life. We would love for the caring CC community of cats to join together on WED, July 22 and vote for Tyler #124579 so that we give him a very special COTD badge on his page Thursday morning as our Birthday present to him and his incredible Mom! Certainly, the fact that Tyler not only survived but thrived is cause to celebrate! At 3 weeks, kittens can stand, and begin to play, and by 7 weeks they are running, jumping, climbing ... and getting into all kinds of mischief!” Tyler certainly got what he needed and we are glad he did!

Be careful, sweet Molly!
Sure hope you don't have a storm like we did yesterday! YOW! We had hail, terrible winds and Mom had left the windows open when she went to the store for laundry detergent. Wound up with no power and water in the livingroom and bedroom! What a mess! Mocha and Sebastian "helped" Mom when she tried to clean up the mess. They kept jumping on Mom's back as she was crawling around on the floor blotting up water with towels! Children! They have just NOT learned the subtle art of supervising!

We are swimming by with your Friday vote. We’ve arranged for an open pool party at our house tonight, so PLEASE feel free to stop by. Mom set up special platters of munchies on the table, and in the cooler is cold catnip soda/catsip milk in case anyone is hungry or thirsty. Lounge by the pool with your favorite drink in paw. In the gazebo you can relax and watch bird or butterfly videos. Our Kitty Angels have agreed to light up the sky with their shinning stars and along with the lights in the pool, we’re all set. Dear Sweet Molly
I am sorry to say that these old bones don't move quite as fast as they used to. Mom got hold of me and did give me that bath! :-( Mom says I was so oily and dirty that she had to shampoo me twice! All I know is that she just kept dumping water and more water and MORE water on me! I screamed as loud as I could to let her know that she was making me VERY unhappy, but she just ignored me and kept shampooing and rinsing. But I learned long ago that I must stand still for all this shampooing thing. It actually goes faster if I just stand there than if I tried to fight free.
But there was a good side to all of that, although it was hard to see at first. Mom gave me LOTS of attention all day after the bath. She let me sit on her lap and get her lap all soggy and she brushed and brushed and BRUSHED me until I couldn't stand it any more. But she got LOTS of that old winter hair out of my fur and I will admit I do feel better today. I was even jumping up on Mom and Dad's bed this morning and walking on them to wake them up. BUT...I decided to get even with Mom and MEOWED right into her ear to wake her up! It worked, too! (Purring) Yes, I think I got even very nicely! (purring more) Have a good day, Sweet Molly...and...STAY AWAY FROM THE BATHROOM! ~ Pepper

P.S. Ooops! Mom forgot to tell you what a UTI was! Urinary Tract Infection. I seem to be getting those quite a bit lately. The vet seems to think it is because of my advanced years and "compromised" immune system (from all those years of taking predisone to combat the cancer they said I had).

Hope you are doing well today, Lovely Miss Molly? I am finally off those nasty antibiotics for my UTI. Mom has to keep a close watch on me. Seems to be a chronic thing lately. The vet says it's because I am older and have a weakened immune system. Mom sure makes sure the litter pans are clean, though.

Have a good day today, Molly. Hopefully you won't be having too much rain there. Today is overcast and the predictions are very iffy for today. However, I heard Mom say that if today got warm enough, she was going to give me a BATH this afternoon! I think I'd better find somewhere to hide! ~ Pepper

Samson 37802 VOTE Wednesday 5-27 COTD
It gives us great pleasure to introduce today's COTD nomination! A very special kitty Samson #37802, who is deserving of a COTD badge. A 8y/o short hair kitty who was adopted when his Fur parents went to a Cat Show. While visiting they stopped by a booth supporting a local humane league. It was at that moment when "Samson " flashed his majestic eyes.. the result was "adoption final". Samson won over their hearts with his eyes!
Samson has earned the nicknames Cuddle boy, and Poo-foot. He has learned the best way to get extra kisses, is to stand up and tap Mom's thigh. He then get's picked up immediately and is given extra hugs and kisses. All are well earned!
Despite having a degenerating eye disease and is almost Blind he is able to play and have a full life. He loves to play with golf balls on the hardwood floors, he can sense their location by listening to the sounds made.
I myself have a open heart to special needs kitties and would love to open my heart to Samson by honoring him with a CAT OF THE DAY badge. Please stop by and vote for this special " cuddle boy" today!! Thank you.. Chai-Chai and The Maine gang kitties.

Hope you and your family had a nice holiday weekend. Don't know about you, but it rained here something fierce much of yesterday. It was off and on thunderstorms, but when it rained, it RAINED!
Dad had to play his bagpipes in a parade for Memorial Day yesterday morning. Luckily the parade was between thunderstorms.
Well, Mom and her bestest friends (they are TWINS!) got together and went to see Star Trek yesterday. Mom really liked it and said that she could see where they worked very hard to find actors who looked A LOT like the original crew.

Oh my goodness! Mom laughed and laughed at your snake story! I didn't see what was so funny, but then again, I used to catch garter snakes and bring them home to Mom when I was young (and she let me outside more often). Mom says she can just picture all the cats totally oblivious of that snake and the poor snake just laying there, afraid to move! Mom says your dad did a GOOD deed and he should be proud of himself. I think I would have wanted to stay away from a black snake, myself. Too big of a snake for me to handle!

Good Morning, Sweet Molly
Mom took me out yesterday for a bit! BUT...Mom did something she hasn't done in years. She put that clunky old harness on me with the leash. I wasn't amused. BUT Mom says she was glad she did. There was a bunny out in our yard when she let me out...and although I didn't see it right away, when I did, the bunny knew it was in trouble so made a dash for it across the street. Mom had hold of my leash so she stopped me from dashing across the street after that bunny! It was a bit frustrating, but after that, I was much friskier and proud of myself. Good Morning, Miss Molly!
Well, our weather is FINALLY starting to warm up! It was cool yesterday morning, but warmed up nicely in the afternoon. This morning is warmer than yesterday morning already. Mom may even let me out for a bit today.
Oh...I have to tell you about that dorky boy cat, Sebastian and what he did to me the other day. It was really chilly in here (Mom likes to open the windows and get fresh air in), so Sebastian decided he wanted to curl up INSIDE Mom's afghan on the couch. The only problem with that was, he wanted to curl up and lay in MY bed and I WAS IN MY BED (which is on the couch). Sebastian tunneled right into that afghan and then just FLOPPED down right on top of me! Mom was sitting on the couch and she started laughing and laughing. But I sure didn't find it amusing, that's for sure! I gave mom this incredulous look and she rescued me out from under the big old boy cat! Sheesh! Sebastian weighs 15 pounds! I only weigh 7! Hope your day goes better than that, Molly! ~ Pepper

~*~ A beautiful day like today is the REASON we retired to Florida! Dad mowed the yard while Mom laid in the sun to get a little color for the upcoming wedding. We have family arriving here on Thursday night, which means Ginger will be hiding from Thursday to noon on Monday. These visitors have fast little feet. Mom and her daughter on Friday will go Wedding dress shopping at David's Bridal. The daughter is a bridesmaid and just needs to find her own little black dress. Mom, and Mother of the Groom, just needs to find anything that makes her look skinny! Keep your paws crossed they have success - they are starting to panic due the wedding is only a month away! You keep warm, OK? Yes, we are having a lot of cool weather for spring. Mom says that people used to joke that we had 2 days of spring and then BOOM it was summer! I sure hope you don't have many tornadoes come your way. We were very lucky. Most of the worst storms either went north of us or south of us. Do you have tornadoes in the fall? We get the mostly in the spring and summer. Especially in the summer. That is what is so weird, when we have hail and ice in the summer! The local farmers are very unhappy when that happens.

These tornadoes and storms are getting old, aren't they? We had more storms again last night. Today was warm, but tonight is almost cold. Sebastian even curled up with Mom on the couch tonight. He almost never does that! Mocha curled up with me and we keep each other warm. I used to love to curl up in Mom's arms when I was younger, but these old joints just don't let me do that any more.
I think that is great that Micro was helping type. MOL! I used to do that to Mom too...except my idea of helping was to rest my chin on her arm so that she couldn't type! MOL! Hope you are warmer than we are tonight, Molly! ~ Pepper

G'morning Miss Molly
I sure hope those storms were not too bad for you. Yesterday (Thursday) it was nice and clear and sunny and WARM, but it rained again last night and Mom says that the weather people are saying we are going to get more rain again this morning and nasty storms again tonight. Mom says the rain is good for the gardens, but it sure has been playing mean games on my poor joints. "The Kids" have been making my life miserable too. Especially Sebastian. He is so bored, he really wants to go outside. But with all the rain, the gardens are super muddy and Mom won't take any of us outside. I would sure like to go out and munch on some of that lovely grass myself, but I'm no big fan of getting wet.
So Pumpkin thought the children screaming on TV were right there with you guys and wanted to hide, huh? I can't say as I blame him! When Mom's granddaughter visits from Oklahoma, I don't hide, but I usually stay in Mom's room and try to ignore her. Luckily, she doesn't scream much, but she really loves us kitties and is always trying to catch us and carry us around.

Hey Miss Molly!
Hope you have recovered from your company. The weather is very unsettled here today. Thunderstorms rolled through last night, but it was more noise than rain. They say we may have tornado warnings today. The air is very heavy and damp right now. It's gonna do something, that's for sure. My poor joints are aching and I have been wanting LOTS of Mom's attention this morning.
Mom has me back on antibiotics for another bladder infection. I can't say I like taking those pills, but I do feel better. I've even wanted to play "sit in the box and wait to be beamed up!" MOL! Hi Molly....
I am sorry that I am so late on my thank you for the ACOTD award but you know how our humans can be. Momma was busy taking grandmom out on the town Sunday. I just want to thank everyone for the votes and the congratulations that you gave me. I made my momma so proud that she cried tears of happiness. Wow, Molly!
How exciting is all of that! So wonderful! I remember when Mom used to have lots of company over, I would sort of stay in the background until everybody got comfortable and then I would suddenly appear and just walk on everyone's lap! LOL! After all, Mom always said I was her special baby kitty, and I was sure that everyone just had to share in all of my being special! MOL! Hope you have as much fun doing stuff like that, too! ~ Pepper

PLEASE VOTE ANGEL SMOKEY #125145 FRIDAY 5/10..
Angel Smokey #125145 tells her story of a loving life..she was born in a barn and was her Mom's best barn buddy.When Mom would go to saddle her horse Bronx, she would always set her in the saddle to ride. She never did get a picture. But it always made her laugh and smile and I would get a hug and a cheek rub. You see, my mom is somewhat hearing impaired and I would always go to the barn with her and when something wasn't right I wouldn't let her go in at that time and she trusted me. She would go back later and would look at me and tell me to see if it was ok and I would let her in to get the hay for Bronx or what ever it was that she wanted. Mom would walk to the neighbor's house and I was her shadow and she would always look out for me and I her. I loved listening to her talk and would answer back with all the love that I had in my heart. My mom misses me when she goes to the barn and walks over to the neighbor's house. She says that those walks are lonely now. I miss my mom so much because she needed me. She also would call me her little guardian angel. That is my job and I still watch over her she just can't see me...Please stop Friday 5/8, and help Angel Smokey be the shiniest star for her Mom to see in the Saturday evening sky, by making her this weeks Angel Cat of the Day...THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE RB ANGELS

Yes, Miss Molly, you and I are of the same mind! Those sports cars are too noisy and scary! Mom used to drive one of them, but Dad took it all apart and it is in pieces everywhere. He says he is restoring it. It is a TR3 and Mom can actually touch the street when she was sitting inside the silly thing! (fluffing up) I don't like cars PERIOD! Being in a car usually means I am going to the vet's office. And I don't think I know any cat who likes to go there!

Hello Molly
What’s mew? Sunday we had really really bad weather all day. Our power went out at 10:30 a.m. & did not come back on until 2:00 a.m. Monday. Thank goodness for our generator! Several tornados were in our county. It got very dark like nighttime, then the wind blew big, & it rained hard & hailed. Sissy, Casper & I were running berserk in the house, all three going in different directions. We were scared and that scared Mommy. Thankfully, we & our house are ok, just limbs and debris everywhere. Lots of folks were not as lucky – some have trees through their roofs and lots of power still out. We are expecting more bad weather tomorrow. Hope your Tuesday is terrific! Hugs, Merrybelle

Warp Speed!
MOL! No, one can NEVER forget Mr. Spock! But Mom learned something about Patrick Steward that made her roll her eyes and shake her head. It seems he likes (and used to have) an MGB and is still very much interested in those noisy little British sports cars. Dad has Triumphs! Although it is not likely that they would ever meet, Mom just knows that Dad and Patrick Steward would actually have something they could talk about! MOL! Purr-sonally, I don't like those little cars. Too noisy! I don't know how humans can like having all that air in their face since those things don't have a top to keep the air off of you! (fluffing up) I like being where I am warm and it is calm. People can be so weird, can't they?

Oh dear, Miss Molly, you got Mom started on the Star Trek thing! MOL! Mom liked the original series, but she liked the Next Generation better, I think. It took her a while to get used to it, but Mom says that she liked Data, because he reminded her of a little kid and she liked watching him "grow up".
