hello to all my dear furriends!!
I would like to thank everyone who voted for me for COTD on Friday. I was so surprised (and so was mom) on Saturday when Gidget’s mom facebooked my mom and told her I was COTD. It means so much to mom and me that all of our furrriends to bestow the honor of COTD. My brothers are so supportive and happy for me as well. Mom even gave me a special treat (I had to share with my brothers, but it’s only fair) for getting my badge. Who would have thought I would have gotten my badge this soon. I couldn’t have done it without all of my furrriends, thank u once again. Have a great rest of the day and week. Enjoy that sunshine and warm weather.

After Hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans, a woman was forced to leave the city. She’d lost her family, dogs, and pet rabbit. She thought she’d lost her cat Cupcake too. Six months after the hurricane, an animal rescue person working to reunite owners and pets found the woman in Atlanta GA. She acknowledged that her black cat Cupcake had brought her good luck.

Today the moon is full!

A Good mews story

In 1996, Seattle Washington, a one year old black cat, Sneakers, disappeared from her yard. The family, including Sneakers owner, Hilary, 4 years old, was devastated. The family did all the usual things to find Sneakers: posted flyers, went door to door, contacted local shelters. Sneakers was never found or returned. Eventually he was replaced with other cats.

In 2006,an administrator from the Sacramento CA animal shelter called Hilary.A cat had been turned into the shelter because the family couldn’t care for the cat anymore. The cat was scanned for a chip, and a phone call resulted. After 10 years, Sneakers 10 years old and Hilary, now 14, were reunited!

4/25 Shadow presents“Le Chat Noir” The Black Cat
An overcast day with temperatures in the 50s, light rain expected.

This is the last in the series on cats that are all black. It is the Havana Black Oriental Self Color that is featured here.

Prior to World War II, there was thought to have been a Siamese-type cat with a solid black coat. The cat today is not the same. In the 1960s, dedicated breeders, in the United Kingdom, began a program to produce a plain-coated cat of Siamese type without a restricted coat pattern. The Havana Black is the result of this breeding program. The breed is recognized in all countries.

This cat does not like to be left alone and should have the company of another cat. It is intelligent, affectionate, athletic and outgoing. In fact, it has a very high activity level. It is also very talkative. Its body is long and slim and of medium size. The Havana Black has a long whip like tail and long legs. Its head is triangular wedge shape, with a straight profile and large wide-set ears.

The coat is short, sleek and close lying, with little grooming required. The color is jet black to the root with no shading or markings. Its eyes are Oriental in shape and slanting toward the nose and the eye color should be a clear green.

"Curly Sue", full name SUEZEE Curly Sue KNIGHT, has an amazing curly tail (just look at her pictures!)! She was born in the Knight family's backyard along with her brother Rhoamin and sister Sissee a few years back (um...a lady doesn't like to give her exact age)! SUEZEE is one of the outside gals that make up the ALL GIRL POWER CREW of the Knight kitties! Her Mom noticed a paw injury on Suezee a few days back and is keeping a close eye on it. Suezee #11528 still has a swollen leg/paw today but she walks without a limp & still relishes eating all her food. Please give a COTD vote WED 7/9 to SUEZEE KNIGHT #11528 and let her know you send healing purrs for her ailing paw! Her brother Rhoamin, CC's King of July, is concerned about his sister. You know there are 21 cats and a doggie to care for and love all over in the Knight family! Mrroww! Not much is happening here. I'm getting a break furom training (yay!). Sister just made me some cat trading cards. Tomorrow is her birthday. I don't have a purresent for her yet. Any ideas?

We will celebrate "Kitty Cat Day" the day after Sister's birthday. I certainly am having a busy week. Here is the schedule:

Sun: Humans return furom trip
Mon: Sister gets haircut
Tues: Sister's birthday
Wed: Kitty Cat Day
Furs: ???
Furi: ???
Cat: ???

Even though he's all fella; Zaboo took kitten Sherman under his wing. He made sure Shermy didn't worry about a thing! Little Angel Sherman now watches out for his big brother Zaboo! Patches & Sherman said no need for another kitty inside anyway as that one tried to take Shermie's mouse outside with her when she finally did get caught! After a heart breaking journey, Munchie's Mom lost a very special tuxedo kitty to feline leukemia. Munchie, who was four months old then, adopted his mommy and comforted her. It was love at first sight! This black and white kitty loves to chew on toys and toes, thus the name. Please visit him Thursday @ 31699 and drop him your vote. He's a very deserving kitty who loves to see the shiny badge on his page tomorrow! Rhoamin. ..Rhoamin...he's our guy...with your help he'll be Mr. July!
