My favorite tricks and treats are: I know how to snuggle up to strangers so they take me home with them. I chirp at birds. My dad says I sound like them. I can chirp at them for several minutes at a time. I like to steal my dad's socks, too. and Anything in Muffin's bowl.
Where I hang out: Right now I hang out under the bed when someone comes into the room. The I pounce on them from all angles.
My favorite grubs: I like to eat almost anything. My parents had to kitten-proof the house. Can't wait for Christmas!!!! I need to hone my tree climbing skills.
My pet peeves: Running out of food. Muffin's right hook.
What I love about my owners: They walk me on my leash.
My cat hobbies: I think I'm going to love aggravating my sister.
Pet motto: BLAME IT ON THE MOUSE!!!!

How We Met
My dad told my mom that he was tired of Muffin getting stressed when they left the house. he wanted to get another cat for company. My mom wasn't convinced. So, he said let's go and just look (famous last words in cats and cars). They came to the shelter and asked to see the kitties. There I was in all my splendor (I was putting on the cute act by tossing a little toy mouse up in the air and catching it). My dad said, "Look at that." He asked the man to let me out of the cage and then I went into my "take me home routine." I looked longingly at him (he was the biggest one there, but I didn't know what a softie he was). He picked me up and I snuggled in his arms. He handed my to my mom and the story was over. She said, "awww." (Ladies and Gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building!) I was home furever. I didn't know that they had to check out my new home before I was allowed to leave. But, now I am home with my big sister Muffin. She tries to play grouchy sometimes, but she really loves me. I am sooo happy now.

Hi Robbie,
Remember me? It has been such a long time since I meowed. Mom got so busy with Grandma being so sick for so long, then always having to do things for/with Grandma and/or Dad, she got out of the practice of blogging for me. Thanks to my constant begging, I have finally shamed her into contacting all my past friends to see if we can once again pick up where we left off. Mom herself fell a month ago and hurt her sciatica nerve so now the chiropractor tells her that she will have to be really careful to keep it from flaring up at any moment. It has finally started easing off some so that is making her more responsive to my begging..tee hee. I had my yearly Vet appointment this past Wednesday and it went so good. I weigh 10.2 so no diets in my near future, yeah. Plus the Vet could not believe I will be 10 years old in October, he said I look and am in the health of a much younger cat. That made my and Mom's day!! Mom was so happy that she went and bought me treats, yum!!! Since we last communicated I have met in person my lady, Maggie, my friends Ricky, Blackbear and his siblings, Gidget, and Elvis and his siblings. Everyone was so wonderful and I look forward to someday seeing them again!! If I don't hear back from you before Sunday, please have a BLESSED Easter and I hope you get a basketful of treats. Vote Friday, November 13 for Angel Tiger 8722. From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Tiger, #87225? He was a stray that mom took in when she was about 13, back in the late 60's. He was the first cat, actually the first pet, she'd ever had. Tiger was a tough guy who ruled the neighborhood. Mom just fed him every day and after a while, she had her first cat. Tiger would eat from neighbors' dog's bowls when they were chained-up and the dogs would bark at him. One day, he came home with his leg twisted in an odd way, he'd been injured and had to slowly work his way home. Mom and grandma took him to the vet and the vet put a cast on his leg. The vet said the only way to get the leg perfectly straight, was to put a pin in it, but it would heal fine without it. From then on, Tiger was an inside cat. He only lived a couple of years after that. When the family was away on vacation, Tiger developed a kidney problem. Tiger had been boarded at the vet's. A couple of days after we returned and picked Tiger up, Tiger got really sick and we took him to the vet. Looking back, we suspect Tiger had FIV, but in 1970, nobody knew what FIV was. He also got into a lot of fights, some of them with a feral cat that was in the area. We'll never know for sure if Tiger had FIV, but we suspect that it was a possibility. Tiger was a special kitty and now he's at the Rainbow Bridge, young and happy. Mom says she feels lucky to have gotten to spend that time with him. He was a special kitty. Larry, as she was called for many days, watched a new family working on a house in the neighborhood getting it ready to move into. This lovely kitty actually chose her new home long before the family chose her. Once she was invited in she had found her forever home. She repaid a box of cat food with three kittens who were originally named Prissy, Rambo and Kay. Prissy became known as Duckie, Rambo went to live with friends who wanted a kitten and fell in love with him and Kay became the Little General! Larry, as she was known for 19 years, Duckie and Kay stayed together and provided love for their household through good times and bad. Larry crossed Rainbow Bridge shortly before her 20th birthday in 2008, the day after her Daddy returned home from having major surgery. Angel Larry has spent some busy days at the Rainbow Bridge opening her home to Angel Ayashe a few short months ago and the baby kittens Angel Gabriel and Raphael recently. From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Elvis, # 107253 ? Here is his story in his own words! I was feral and mom trapped, neutered and gave me all my shots and let me go. After about 2 years, I finally came back, after I had forgiven her, as I knew where to go for food. After a lot of bites and scratches I finally let Mom pet me, two weeks later I was inside. She took me to the Vet. and found out I was positive with FIV and congestive heart failure. I had 11 teeth pulled due to the disease but mom took me home anyway, loved me and gave me baby food and water and a nice warm bed, I was so happy for the first time in my life and knew I was loved. My saddest regret was not being able to have more time with Mom and meeting my other feline housemates, as I was isolated in Mom's computer room. She spent a lot of time with me, brushing and loving on me.
I learned to give Mom sandpaper kisses and she loved it, she kissed me all the time……. purrrr. I felt like a kitten again especially when she gave me Kitten Chow since I had never had it. Two paws up for Mom!! Elvis' heart gave out and he passed over the Rainbow Bridge on 10/21/08! From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Misty Chin, #141471? “I was the first kitty Dad ever had and I set the standards for all the others that have followed. My name was originally Misty, but because I had that little patch of color on my chin, Dad and a friend of his thought I should have a last name of Chin added. That's how most of the cats in our family have wound up with last names. He used to call me “the best kitty on any planet†and he used to sing to me, a familiar tune:†"How much is that kitty in the window, how much is that kitty in the window, I do hope that kitty is for sale!" That always made me smile, even until the end. Dad stuck by me when I got sick with Chronic Renal Failure. He did my fluid therapy every other day, took me for shots of Epogen and made me as comfortable as he could until the very end. He helped me to live with dignity for the last four months of my life and let me go when it was my time. "Darn Cat" or "DC", now what kind of a name is that for a pretty girl? That is what her Daddy called DC Marie. Thank goodness he had the good sense to get married so her new Mom could add to it and make it feminine! DC Marie is nine years old and proud of her loud voice. Well, it gets attention. Her favorite activity is to run races in her yard. Her Daddy's lap is her retreat and she lets no one else take it over. We know who the boss is in this family! From Duckies Desk: Have you met Angel Charr Knight, # 10719? Charr, Ebbonny, Bahneetah, and another female were in a short haystack that was used for target practice with archery. We saved three but birth mama (Baby #13286) must have moved the other one and has never seen the little one again. She was also a calico who looked almost like Bahneetah. She liked to open the lower kitchen cabinet doors and go inside. And she loved the laser light. Mom would make her go around in circles with it and then "unwind" as she called it to make her go the other way in circles. Charr Knight crossed the Rainbow Bridge on September 19, 2008. Miss Sally & her sister Molly ended up together in the shelter when their first human surrendered them. It just so happens that a special cat lover who volunteers regularly at the shelter was mourning the loss of her beloved Angel Prissy after 14 beautiful years. Her home felt so empty after her Prissy crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She likes to think that her sweet Angel Prissy was watching out for her and brought her a delightful surprise by bringing these 2 kitty sisters into her life. Of course, Sally & Molly are grateful that their adopted Mama took them both home to stay, allowing the sisters to spend their lives together. They in turn help their Mama by filling her home with kitty love. Sally & Molly made their own places in their Mama's heart and on her lap. Sally is her "snuggle bunny" in bed. She also does something that makes her Mama laugh every time. When Sally sees that her Mama is about to head down the hallway or through a door, she runs ahead and stretches out in front of her, charging a "toll" of one belly rub for her Mama to pass by. Everyone thought he was so cute and loveable. Squirt Dobber can do the "Squirtsie Shuffle" Someone will scratch his back and he'll flop over and use his hind feet to go around in a circle. Squirt Dobber can say "Momma" and "No!" He would put his hind feet together and hop up and down the stairs. Squirt Dobber loved to be held and cuddled like a baby. Squirt Dobber crossed Rainbow Bridge in December of 1998. Angel Squirt Dobber had a loving home, tons of friends and a life full of adventure. The only thing missing is his Cat of the Day Badge!
