Education: He has a remarkably resilient outlook that has taken him through many upheavals in his life! My birthday is May 1; in lieu of gifts, PET ME!

My favorite tricks and treats are: No tricks, just treats: PET ME! They do think it's funny how I sit in a lap, lay on the chest, and extend both front legs towards the face like I'm a flying cat. Anybody, anywhere, anytime WILL pet me, and I will smother them with my furry body until they do. and I love my chewy Kittyvite Senior Vitamins. I also lick any plate or bowl I can when nobody's looking: I'm a champion mooch but mama doesn't want me to eat any people food except meat or maybe a vegetable, no junk food, since I'm a senior fellow in excellent physical shape!

Where I hang out: In the home office on my heating pad bed on the bench; on my fluffy bed right beside the warm radiator; on the bed or in the window.

My favorite grubs: Purina Naturals, and I steal some of Pee Wee's Science Diet Nature's Best Chicken whenever I feel like it.

My pet peeves: I don't like other cats getting in my personal space, and I don't like being picked up.

What I love about my owners: They know I love fleece blankets, and they pet me almost as much as I want. Since I want that 24-7, I'm trying to move them towards at least every waking moment.

My cat hobbies: Snuggle, snuggle, snuggle. If you won't snuggle, I meow meow meow meow meow until you do.

Pet motto: There's no use to fight it: You WILL pet me as long as I want you to!

How We Met

Meeko became very ill while being boarded, going into renal failure with "grave prognosis," so the owners gave him to their Army vet, who lovingly brought him back from the very edge of death. Then when she deployed to Iraq, Meeko became the "office cat" at the Army base here, until they decided that wasn't appropriate, so a friend of a staff member took Meeko. About a year later, she was moving and returned Meeko to the clinic. When he wasn't adopted, we fostered him and got back in contact with his Army vet, who had moved to Washington State after returning to the states, and we agreed we would just arrange for him to be flown out to her. In the end, Meeko was doing so well here and we all feared for him on such a long flight, so he's staying right here! Knowing his personality as we do, we believe that while he was originally boarded, he was so disturbed to be away from his owners and constant affection that he started shutting down; this is a cat that would die if he did not have lots of personal contact!

Hi Meeko Thanks for stopping by to see me. I love hearing from my fellow felines. Guess what happened yesterday? Mom got stung by a bee!! She was weeding, whatever that means, and I was keeping a sharp eye out for some prey to chase and out of nowhere I heard her yelp. Fortunately, the neighbor was out at the same time and was able to do whatever needed to be done. We had to go back inside after that and today mom is still a little sore but she's hobbling around okay. I made sure to cuddle next to her all night long and I plan on keeping a close eye on her today just to make sure. Have a great day!
