~♥*Please Help a Rescued Kitten!*♥~
~ Just a few days ago, we found a tiny kitten that someone had dumped on the road. The poor thing was screaming and shaking in fear and almost got hit by the cars. Ever since we lost Jingle Bells (see his profile) 6 years ago, we have wanted another cat. How could we let this precious little kitten go? Of course we had to save him. We brought him home and we’ve been taking the best care we can for him, but we aren’t exactly sure what to do for him. Since we’ve heard a lot about how cow’s milk is hard on kittens, we gave him Rice Dream rice milk and kitten food. He wasn’t sure what to do with the kitten food so we ground it up. He didn’t know what to do with that either, so we broke the food into medium-sized pieces and he’s doing quite well with that now. We’ve kept him in our closed-in porch and not in the house yet because he was infested with fleas. After much effort we’ve managed to get most of those off, but if you know of any tips to get rid of them we’d appreciate it so much. He’s playful and active but seems to still be wishing for his own mother and littermates and meows a lot. We spend literally hours with him holding him, petting him, encouraging him to eat, and playing with him. I have no idea how old he is; we’re guessing 2-3 weeks. He seems to be having a little diarrhea which is possibly as a result of the change in food-we have no idea what he was eating before; other than that he’s obviously healthy. If you know anything about caring for orphaned kittens, PLEASE blog me at Jingle Bell’s page! We have been so happy to have the cat we wanted for so long and we want to give him the best home possible but we would really appreciate some information on caring for him better! Please help us!
