**End of WWI in 1918: A day for Reflection**
In 1918, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, hostilities between the Western Allies and Germany ceased, effectively ending what was until then the bloodiest conflict in human history.
The phrase “at the 11th hour” is biblical (Matthew 20:6 — “And about the eleventh hour) and it is understood to mean “at the very last possible minute.”
After the war, a park was created at the site called the Clairiere de L’Armistice (the Clearing of the Armistice). A concrete pavilion was built to house the rail car, and a statue of Foch was erected along with a plaque that read: “Here on the eleventh of November 1918 succumbed the criminal pride of the German empire ... vanquished by the free peoples which it tried to enslave.”

My New Shell

Hi Girls!!!!We finally got a little snow 2 nights ago. And guess what KINSER did, He escaped out the sliding door when dad went out!!! Mom was so mad at him!! She had to chase him through the snow in her BARE TOES!!!! When she got close to him, he would take off another few feet!! Just out of her reach. and he is white and tan and that made it very hard for mom to see him in the white snow!! Mom yelled for human sissy to shake the treats and when she did, he ran back to the house!!! That is just typical of him, worried about feeding his fat belly!!! Well, she finally got her toes defrosted and my dad said that she has lost he mind when she is willing to chase him in the snow with no shoes or socks!!! Kinser is just a selfish boy, I would never do that to mommy!!! Love Nix Come visit me, "Onyx" & "Kinser".

Hi girls we voted for you too!!! Thanks for your votes!! We have also had a hard time chatting with our kitty friends. There has been a lot going on here in the past few weeks!! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! It is 16 degrees outside today and the wind is also whipping so it makes it even colder. Grandma Made Me a Maneki Neko Boogie Mat!
Do you know about Boogie Mats? I am laying on a store-bought one in my main picture at the top of the page. It is so fun, but kind of small for me, so Grandma made me a bigger one out of Maneki Neko fabric! Mom posted a picture of it on my page (bottom lower right). It has fluffy padding and catnip inside. Hi Girls. Sounds like you are getting the lefover of the rain storms we had the last two days. Supposed to be foggy in the am here. we just stay in and stay warm. Mom makes sure the kits have lots of warm placed outside too. She covered the biggest cat carrier with blankets and stuff to keep it warm and dry for them. They sleep there with each other when it is really cold. There is even an nice heavy rug at the front door for them. Hi girls. Had a great Christmas. Got sardines toys and fresh cat grass. Yummy. Now we are waiting on the tent mom won in a drawing at the cat show. It looks like a 'pup' tent but mom says it is a cat tent.. Will let you know when we get it. Tinsel!!!
Hi Girls!!! I am so glad that everyone is feeling better!! Tinsel Poo, Poo!!!! lol That happened to Kinser one year only he also had a string of tinsel half in his fuzzybut and the other half was hanging out!!! His dad had to try pulling it the rest of the way out and when he did, poo,poo was wrapped around the tinsel so hepulled that out with it!!!! Dad just gagged and gagged!!! It was sooooo funny!!! But that was the last time we put tinsel on the tree, because the vet told us that it can really make a kitty sick and get stuck in the kitties system. So stop eating the tinsel!!! We were so happy to hear from you, we have been soooo busy!!!! Christmas is almost here are you excited??Come visit me, "Onyx" & "Kinser".
