Wow, I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since I have blogged my friends. So sorry...but mom has been *under the weather* lately.

I would love to go to that new bakery in town. I hear they have the best donuts and pies, etc. I was walking past the other day while bread was baking, and the smell was heavenly.

Let me know aht day would be good for you to go and we'll make a day out of it, pick up some baked goods, stop for catnip chicken, and tuna casserole bites and some cheese and drinks and have a picnic up on Lookout Hill.

What do you say we go to the Ice Castles tomorrow. I heard some of the kitties made some pawsome castles this year and can't wait to check them out.

I will bring some hot catnip tea for eveyone along with some homebaked catnip cookies.

Hi there! My name is Taz. There has been a whole lot of confusion for mom,Gidgit and me. Earlier today,we thought Gidgit was running. But it turns out,she just won last year in November,so I am running!So,you might have already gotten Gidgit's slogan,but now I am running! So,here is my story:Gidgit and I had a nice home when we were just kittens. Plenty of food,and love. All was well until our owner got married. The guy that she married didn't really like us.But,that was our lfe. Then,when they got divorced,Gidgit and I were given to the ex husband who didn't even like us. He kept us for a few weeks,then decided to move to an apartment that didn't allow cats. He took us to a shelter. The lady at the shelter said the shelter was full,but when she heard that Gidgit was a Sphynx,she said she knew someone that might take her. She called mom,and mom called old owner. She was thrilled,cause she had always wanted a Sphynx,but when she heard that I needed a home,and was going to be put down...Now I live a life of luxury. I do whatever I want. I am extrememly spoiled,and I get my own way all the time. I have even gone to a few shows. I got Grand Champion! But,that was a few years ago. Now I am too old for that kind of stuff. Except that mom doesn't want me attacking people that come to the house, I know that's what Tiger 2 did and you didn't, you just ran the neighborhood. Sweet Angel Tiger and family,
Happy middle of the weekend to you. We are a little late in our weekly blog because mom had to work this weekend - and just finished a few minutes ago. It was 69/40s today with lots of sun and should be the same tomorrow. Mom still has to clean our trays tonight and refresh our food and water dishes - so she will be doing that while she waits for the web pages to fill.

Stealing human food! - we have some kitties who are expert at doing this, too - especially Kanga and Marnie.

We kitties are doing what is appropriate for this time of night - sleeping!! I, Sweetie Pie, am inside the bed on top our scratching post. Punkie is inside a basket of laundry. Tigger, Watson, Garfield, Kanga, White Knight and Audrey are asleep in various positions on mom's bed. Marnie is under the bed asleep. Mom has the SyFy channel on and is watching their latest made for TV disaster movie, Meteor Storm. It's not too bad as disaster movies go.

Tomorrow mom and Aunt Linda are going to go out and eat breakast at Mimi's and see a movie (not sure which one yet), and do a little shopping.

We leave you with a little kitty knowledge - something new to mom at least: Xylitol is a sweetener used in many products including gum, candy, baked goods, and toothpaste. It is toxic to our sweet kitties - so please keep these items out of your kitty's reach.

Sweet Angel Tiger and family,
Well, we're back. The black and blue marks on mom's hand/wrist/arm have almost faded but mom is still experiencing some weakness in her left hand and pain with certain movements (especially twisting motions, lifting objects and trying to depress buttons that require some pressure involved). She figures it is going to take awhile to get strength back and for the pain to dissipate entirely, but she is using her exercise ball and weights to try to build back function and just be patient. We want to thank you all for your prayers and gentle thoughts of support - it meant a lot to mom and all of us kitties.

All of us kitties are in various poses of repose on mom's bed. Punkie is on his back with his 4 feet in the air; he's twitching occasionally, so mom figures he is dreaming. I, Sweetie Pie, am laying in a loose ball with 3 of my feet touching and the 4th lying loosely on my chest. Robbie, White Knight and Audrey are lying around mom's pillow. Only mom is awake - go mom, type away!

Two weekends back was Aunt Linda's birthday. Mom and Aunt Linda always take each other out for their birthday's, so mom took Aunt Linda to see a movie (wasn't that much on that weekend, but they enjoyed the new Chipmunk movie), then they went to Denny's for breakfast, Sweet Tomatoes for lunch, and a fantastic local Mexican restaurant called Eva's for dinner (no, not all in one day - over 2 days). Aunt Linda was off the week before her birthday, so mom had fun wrapping and giving her 1 present a day - it's more fun that way that giving all the gifts on one day! We kitties got to play with the wrappings each day and the ribbons (supervised only of course - mom says so she could make sure we didn't swallow the ribbons).

Does anybody watch the show SANCTUARY that airs on the SyFy channel? Mom likes that show, and today they were having a marathon of all the past season's shows leading up to the season finale, and mom's been watching it on and off while doing work around the house.

We leave you with a Dutch Superstition: In the Netherlands, cats were not allowed in rooms during private family discussions because the Dutch believed cats would spread gossip around town!

HERE'S THE REST OF OUR MESSAGE

Next I turned my attention to the Christmas tree,
Making sure it was totally temptation-free.
I moved ornaments up, for 3 feet or so,
And no strand of lights was left dangling low.
When then, in a twinkling, I heard soft and sweet,
The prancing and pawing of four little feet.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
By the chimney this character came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And was covered all over with ashes and soot;
The ears stood straight up on this bold little elf,
And he looked overwhelmingly pleased with himself.

His eyes - how they twinkled! He purred like a glutton!
His tongue, pink and raspy; his nose, like a button!
His droll little tail was drawn up like a bow,
And those whiskers of his looked like yesterday's snow.
I had not a doubt that this bundle of gray
Was the cause of the chaos at our house today.
How proudly he strolled, with what grace and what style,
As he tracked soot and ashes all over the tile.
He was chubby and plump and out to impress,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of the mess.
I scooped up the imp, and I patted his head,
But he seemed to sense he had something to dread;

I spoke not a word, but went straight for the sink,
Where I washed him and dried him, as quick as a wink.
Then he darted away and stopped on a stair,
And giving a nod, he fell sound asleep there.
He dreamt and he kneaded and purred; all the while
I regarded him with half-frown and half-smile.
And you'd hear me exclaim, as I cleaned up our flat,
"I'll remember the Christmas that we got a cat."

Sweet Angel Tiger and family,
Weather was pretty chilly yesterday - 61/30. Today it is going to be a little warmer - 63/38. Mom and Aunt Linda went to the Glendale Glitters last night. It goes on every Friday and Saturday through the 19th. It was supposed to be Gingerbread in emphasis. Mom was a little put out that there was no gingerbread available (despite advertising that there would be) - mom LOVES gingerbread -- BUT, it was quite lovely as usual with all the trees decorated with lights -- and mom and Aunt Linda found a little Coffee/Tea shop right next to the event where they had gingerbread tea and cookies - YUM! In the outdoor theater, they always have local dance/song/drama clubs provide entertainment - from the youngest tykes to adults involved, and that was a great deal of fun. HERE AT HOME - Punky (short for The Great Pumpkin) was stalking poor Audrey today. There was a little altercation at one of our feeding stations - which mom thought at first was just an unwillingness to share food dishes - which she broke up. But then, Punky followed Audrey into mom's bedroom -- and, when Audrey jumped on the windowsill to look out, Punky tried to push him out of the window - mom intervened and made Punky leave the room for awhile. (Aside from Sweetie Pie - as a kitty who has known Audrey's stalking of him, I, FOR ONE, was glad to see Audrey get his comeuppance!) We leave you this evening with a Christmas Poem which we know every fellow human who shares their home with a C-A-T will be able to relate with and smile about. (Aside from Sweetie Pie - after all who came first the cat or the tree - I rest my case!)

Christmas with the Newcomer

'Twas the night after Christmas, the time to replay
The events of that most hectic annual day.
The stockings, once hung by the chimney with care,
Were chewed on and drooled on and torn past repair.
No one was nestled all snug in his bed;
There was spilt milk and Friskies to clean up instead.
And me in my 'kerchief, and Dad in his cap,
Wished we'd settled down for a much-needed nap,
When somewhere downstairs there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chores to see what was the matter.
Away down the steps I flew like a flash,
Just as I heard one more thunderous crash.

The moon wasn't out, so I switched on the light,
Still hoping to see everything was all right,
When, what for my wondering eyes was in store,
But my family-room curtains a-heap on the floor.
I re-hung the drapes, but to end all this "fun,"
I knew in a moment more work must be done.
More rapid than eagles I rushed all around,
To make certain everything was safe and sound.

From the poinsettia plant, to the yarn in the hall,

Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? I hope so! We all shared a big can of juicy Friskies canned cat food! We like that even more than turkey. he,he. It was turkey flavor though so that counts, right! I have had all my birthday pictures up for a while but I haven't had a chance to blog until now so you might have seen them already. Mom just put up my Christmas picture. :) She wanted to do all our holiday pics but our PC wouldn't load Abby's and Mickey's so mom is not very happy about that. I guess we'll just have to try again this week end. Good thing we didn't START uploading them on Christmas! he,he. These chilly days I've been sleeping away in front of the fireplace in the living room. Mickey and Abby come to snuggle with me too but I'm always there like a magnet! in fact I'm curled up there right now listening to mom finally moving back and forth on the key board catching up for me. We have so much snow here! What about there?

Mom said she remembers the 70's very well and all the things you mentioned! No cell phone and mom had a black phone with a rotary dial...yep, mom remembers all that stuff alright...does that mean she's old??? She used to have a typewriter too...I was there when she had that, she used it a lot, but since computers, she gave it away! Have you ever gone star collecting or fishing or chasing butterflies or watching the frogs by the pond? All nice things to do over the Rainbow Bridge...me and my sister Angel Shadow go cloud hopping and we also play Mouse Hockey with the earth kitties....well, it was very nice meeting you...hope you have a pawsome evening...purrs n Angel hugs~~~AJ>^..^<

Thanks. I give Mom lots of lap time and rubs but am not a purrer. MOL. Anderson is. He sounds like a motor. Mom has never heard me purr but I show her how much I love her. Yup! Dad remembers all those groovy things. He had the headband, beads & medallions, the glasses (still wears the round ones ~ ala Ozzy) and the fringed suede jacket & wide-brimmed suede hat. His jacket had the REALLY long fringes on it. It lasted him until the mid-80's and then he donated it to charity. It was still in perfect shape too, just a tad too tight around the chest. MOL! Dad's like that with his clothes. He seems to have stuff for ever. The other day someone commented on a tie-dyed t-shirt he was wearing from Ozzfest '97. They thought it was a new replica. (The nerve ~ He's not a poseur!) It's an orignal parking lot t-shirt that's only 12 years old - Thank you very much! He has some concert shirts from the 70's & 80's that still look good. He's given a few of them to his niece who's 17. She loved them! The rest hold special meaning for him & are considered sacred. MOL! The things Dad collects and won't let go of. You wouldn't believe it! From hippie to tribal... Now he's got large 1/2 inch tusks in his ears, piercings, and had a mohawk with self-induced colors ranging from blue to pink. Being the conformist he is, he's changed his hair to a plain buzzed style cut, but still has fits of color (covers the grey nicely) and still wears the tusks. What do expect from a computer geek? Normal? MOL! That Dad... Gotta love him! Purrs, Angel Prettypaw
