Big Mama, of Palm Springs, CA, found herself homeless when her original owner died. She stayed in the neighborhood for years until a special cat lover moved into the area & noticed her coming into the yard to watch him. One day, he offered her some food & she came up to get a pet while she gobbled the food. She then ran away to the backyard but in a few minutes came back to stay, never to leave his side! Her new Dad named her “Big Mama” because he thought she was pregnant. She was not ~ she's just big!

When Big Head Red (BHR) came along, they got along swell. Big Mama & BHR are quite the happy couple. She loves her good night treats which she gets with BHR. They both get their separate piles. You can see from her outdoor pictures that she would wait everyday at the gate by the little shrine for her Dad to come home. Her Dad loves the photo of her looking out to the street. She looks like a Kliban cat! MOL! Big Mama & BHR are now indoor only kitties. They share a big room with a 12 foot glass patio door, a high up perch in the bathroom window & a perch overlooking the hummingbird feeder. They have their own kitty cubes for privacy, two kitty beds and a huge kitty tower in their room, so there's never a dull moment. Their feeding station has 3 kinds of dry food & a big bowl of water that gets changed 3 times a day. They live in style! Big Mama’s Dad calls her the Swedish kitty because she's so sweet. She stole her Dad’s heart with her big beautiful golden eyes!

Hey good to hear you are back. I dropped by a few times, as you can tell. I hope you are doing great. I remember you were supposed to move. Did you? I also remember your blogger mom was supposed to go to the college campus for a special class. Did she get to go? My mom is very interested. I think you said she wants to be a vet and that's really cool. Lots of work, but cool. So I guess school is done for her. Hope she did well and is ready to spend a lot of time with you over the summer. I bet you are having fun looking at all the birds and bugs out of your window. That's what I do. This Easter Sunday, get ready to paw the vote button of a shiny, silvery-grey feline fella! Mr. Kitty, a 5-year-old Russian Blue, is a fatherly figure to his fursibs. As the oldest cat of the family, he has automatically and willingly taken on his duties as "dad." This caring boy also has a mischievous streak to him, however. He loves to trick his pawrents into feeding him whenever he gets the chance. Ham is his favorite treat, but he'll eat pretty much anything as long as it doesn't eat him! Mr. Kitty really loves and appreciates his mom, who gives him his space, but also senses when he is ready to get loved upon. One thing this handsome boy doesn't enjoy are belly rubs, but hey, those can really tickle! Please go visit this spectacular, kindhearted guy today and paw him a well-deserved COTD vote, so he'll be CC's Easter Monday COTD King! VOTE MAX 93751 COTD SATURDAY APRIL 11
What a special kitty to have the chance to be our COTD on Easter Sunday! MAX was born with a cleft palate and his Mom was told when she first met him that he would not live long; that he would probably succumb to pneumonia. THAT did it for both of them as they had already immediately fallen in love. ~ ~ They met by pure accident; some would say FATE as Mom was simply accompanying a friend to the vet and happened to see MAX looking very sad in a cage. He had been found alone in a backyard and was saved by a kind person. The minute the vet assistant put MAX 93751 in his Mom's arms it was love at first sight and home they went. ~ ~ Max is a water baby - drinks from the kitchen tap and loves a good bath but drying him off involves a chase around the house. Possibly he likes the 'natural' look of air drying??? ~ ~ While he doesn't play much he does love a good tug-of-war with thick string. Say 'treat' and Max is already at the pantry door but can Mom read a newspaper in peace? No!!!!! It is competition and MAX sits right in the middle of it. ~ ~ Max invented a special treat - Greenie Sundae - a little vanilla ice cream sprinkled with greenies - as he was too thin when he first came home. Well, look at this handsome six year old Tuxedo boy now - taking on his new sister mainly with love and tolerance. ~ ~ Max and his Mom are taking care of Sammy while his Mom recuperates from her fall. What a VERY special kitty, to bring a friend into his home.

This handsome boy was found in a grocery story parking lot after a tornado and was so tiny, he fit into the palm of his mom's hand. He now loves to play catch with glitter balls, even jumping in the air to catch the tossed ball with his two front paws! He is a very smart kitty who still tries to turn a door knob and likes to keep his toys in perfect order. His favorite foods are Temptations treats and tuna. Seventeen years young, this beautiful Abyssinian Golden Girl was adopted in 2007 along with her sister, Angel Louise by the Maine Gang. It takes a very special Mom to adopt older cats, and Ginny's Mom is that! Besides tender loving care, GINNY has the kind of housing she thrives in - her own room. Ginny's thyroid medication has stabilized her hyperthyroidism. Her last labs looked great! Ginny loves to sit with Mom and help answer emails at night. Pour her fresh bottled Poland spring water several times a day and you'll make her happy. (¯`v´¯) Take a peek at GINNY'S picture where she's laying on20her new pink blanket in her warm cozy bed. VOTE SAMMY #93915 COTD WED 4/1!
Sammy started out his life as one of a family of barn cats who were taken to the shelter in hopes of them finding furever homes. His two sisters were quickly adopted, but Sammy was there for almost a month until the day his Mom came in looking for a kitten for a friend. Her friend wanted a girl kitten, and for some reason Sammy’s Mom was told he was a “she”. When his Mom took him to the vet for a health check the vet said “she” was very healthy, but “she” was a boy, not a girl! Since his Mom’s friend didn’t want a boy, his Mom was thrilled that she’d be able to keep Sammy as she had already fallen in love with him. Sammy is very vocal kitty and loves nothing better than curling up on his Mom’s lap. He loves to take a bath, especially the part where he gets dried. He’s good at opening doors, closets, and shower doors. He loves to play with is furry mice and place a great game of fetch. Please stop by and leave a vote for Sammy #93915 today. A beautiful, majestic feline who actively takes part in CFA shows, Heidi Dot #111060 is quite the star! She is ranked as the #10 cat in the Household Pet Class in the Cat Fanciers Association in the North Atlantic Region, and her sweet tabby brother, Milled is ranked #7. This is an incredible achievement, but no matter what, Heidi Dot's kind mom would love her purrecious "Dottie" with all her heart! Heidi Dot is a black beauty with a cute triangle of white fur on her chest. Her talents consist of using cardboard boxes as "kitty cars" and pushing them with her front legs in and back legs schooching backwards to go forwards. As you can see, she has loads of purrsonality in addition to her lovely looks! At 6 weeks old, Heidi's soon-to-be Meowmy saw her all alone in a cage at a high-kill shelter. She was growling and playing with a stuffed animal. She had a big hernia that needed to be fixed and wasn't so friendly at the time, but Heidi's Mom looked past her understandable behavior she had then and lovingly took her home. Now, Heidi is quite friendly and loves to be carried around! She's one big sweetie and really has always been! VOTE BIG HEAD RED 71883 COTD SATURDAY, MARCH 28
Big Head Red actually blushed when he was asked to run for COTD - imagine that! Just your typical red-head, you might say but - no freckles, just handsome pale stripes!! Big Head Red purrs really loudly when his Dad rubs his big round head and squeaks when he is grabbed for a hug. So, what happens? He goes back for more hugs so he can squeak more!!! He and Big Mama have their very own suite, complete with huge glass patio doors and a couple of windows where they can sunbathe and watch the hummingbirds. BIG HEAD RED 71883 even has a bathroom window perch for further scoping out the backyard. ~ ~ ~ This life of luxury is SO VERY different from his start in life. He was a feral cat, rescued and nursed back to health by his Dad after being hit by a car. Over the next 5 months they built a TRUSTING relationship to the point where Big Head Red now kisses and grooms his Dad. He is still a little territorial but who can blame him - besides - look at the reward, a cat-suite! He describes himself as "big & burly & not at all surly". ~ ~ Please drop a vote off for this blushing burly boy on SATURDAY, MARCH 28, so he can show Big Mama his COTD badge on SUNDAY, MARCH 29.

This "Little Man" daily needs his love as much as his food. MIDNIGHT will let his Mom know when he's ready for cuddles/snuggles by stretching his front paws up to her, via her leg while she's at the computer. He's fond of sleeping on Mom's back and waking her up by jumping on her and making biscuit's on her arm. Wonderful WINNIE #6943 is our dear COTD candidate for WED. March 25! Miss Winnie #6943 is currently in the process of helping her adopted Mom move to a roomier home with extra windows for Winnie to peek out of and admire the world outside. WINNIE was kind enough to take a break from playing in a box to meow us her sweet rescue story :) ~”A wonderful person from Cat Welfare found me wandering around an apartment complex, cold and hungry and took me in. She put an ad in the local paper and my mommy, who was thinking about getting a fur baby read the ad and just knew that she had to give her a call. The “foster” family I was staying with agreed that we should meet, and on the day after THANKSGIVING, Black Friday, we met and feel in love instantly. My new mommy couldn’t think of a good name for me, so my grandma named me WINNIE, after Winnie the Pooh Bear (mom’s favorite bear ever). I am very close with my mommy and I love to be where ever she is ~ she calls me her little shadow and snuggle bug! When mom isn’t home, I like to hang out in the windows and spy on all of the neighbors. I don’t talk much but when I do mom sure listens. I am an only kitten, which is fine with me!! I am very nosey and curious and I am always coming up with new antics to make mom laugh :)!” We are certain you will appreciate all the pawsome pictures of Winnie on her CC page ~ our purrsonal favorite is the picture of Winnie helping take the dishes out of the dishwasher ~ and now you know why we think she is Wonderful Winnie!

Princess Margaret, Maggie for short, came to her furever home via an unplanned cross-country move her prior owner made. Her new family was happy to adopt this sweet and loving natured girl. Maggie can stand on her hind feet and she loves styling her pawent's hair while they sleep. Some of her favorite foods include vanilla ice-cream, Fancy Feast and bits of cheese and chicken. Where oh where is BlackBear? With his dark tabby brother Nibbie, that's where! BlackBear says that Nibbie is his buddy and from the minute he realized Nibbie has some black coloring on his dark tabby coat he instantly bonded to him. He says he used to be Nibbie's little shadow but now a days he is bigger than he is! BlackBear is a big fella indeed coming in at 20 pounds and 28 inches from neck to the very end of his tail! And every single pound and inch of him is full of handsomeness! Not only is he handsome, but very hardworking. This fella with a gleaming, jet-black coat and golden eyes is the Captain of the MHL Frisky Predators team. Mouse Hockey is his favorite activity to persue, along with chasing after the laser light and flipping toy mice around in the air. Around 2 years ago BlackBear was born under his mommy Decima's bed in a drawer. He was the only black sibling out out the bunch, with six orange siblings! Needless to say, he in addition to two of his sisters, Golden Dove and Pandora, got adopted as his mom couldn't part with them! BlackBear has achieved quite a lot in Mouse Hockey (besides being the Captain of the MHL Frisky Predators team, he is also the right wing forward on the team and has contributed 9 goals so far this season!) and he would really love to get a COTD badge honoring him for his hard work and dedication to this CC Community. Ruby #28376, our very special COTD candidate for WED March 18, is radiant today but is quite the rescue miracle, along with her whole kitty family! Ruby was born along with 4 sisters at a home where the family didn't know much about animals. Ruby & sibs were kept in a cardboard box with their cat mom during the day while the family was not at home. The lid was closed all the time & the poor kitties couldn't get out! This lead to many problems. Ruby & all her sisters had worms, fleas and colitis. They were very sick. Her human sister, Christina, was friends with this family, so all the cats were taken to her house where their soon to be Adopted Mom gave them all medicine & refused to let the cats go back there!! The people, who did not know how to care for kitties & shouldn't have had any in the first place, threatened to sue Ruby's adopted Mommy to get the cats back. Ruby's new Mommy said "NO WAY, are these kittens going back there!" She nursed Ruby & feline family all back to health & they have been the happiest kitty family ever since! Ruby has 6 sisters & 1 brother kitty ~ Angel, Precious, Sky, Ashes, Smokey & Tigger & Onyx ~ and they all love each other. Now, this is THE life! ~ BLEAU loves getting her long silky fur brushed about 5 times a day everyday. Say the word "scratch" and she offers her chin, her ears or her tummy with an accompanying loud purrrr. She doesn't have to meow for much as she has it. ~ ~ Imagine a house with shelves mounted throughout it just for Bleau to lay on and a perch to look out the windows at her very own bird feeder!!! She does chirp at her feather toy to make it behave. ~ ~ A circle toy with a center cushion that you thought was just for kittens? Don't tell this 6-year old as she still loves to chase the ball and sharpen her claws on the center. BLEAU 90522 even has her own cabinet drawer next to her Mom's computer so she can supervise all activity; for the times when she can't convince her Mom to play with her!! Bleau LOVES watching her cat videos which her Mom puts on whenever she leaves the house. Talk about a kitty with a LOT of stimulation in her life!! It's great to meet you. Wow more friends from Maine! Guess what we got in the mail today? We got a catnip filled mouse, a ball, some catnip and a St Patrick's Day card and they were posted from Lincoln, Maine! We are delighted. BUTTON 22334 was an orphan along with three of his siblings when found down in the sewer by a utility worker. He brought the three kittens to the animal shelter who called Button's Mom. Sadly one brother died before Mom could get there, but BUTTON and his sister made it. Lovingly Mom bottle feed them and wiped their cute little bottom's to teach them how to eliminate. BUTTON 22334 has some cute nicknames: Button-boo, Budden-boy, Bear, and Booboo Bear. He's a handsome long haired Maine Coon who likes to play fetch with a mouse. BUTTON is very close to his Mom and loves to suck on her hand while laying on her lap. He'll also roll over so Mom can rub his tummy. Loving chicken and Temptation Treats, he just might be a little "bottom-heavy" cuz he can't jump onto things like windowsills. MOL ~:**:~ but BUTTON 22334 doesn't care, he's content on Mom's lap.
