He was at the Humane Society, I wanted another Orange cat, but my husband fell in love with the B. We found out he was found with his mommy and other kitties whom had all passed, he was the only survivor

Today promises to be sunny and warmer than yesterday, about 60.
Another moment from history; Oscar the Cat- A true story from World War II
During World War II, the German battleship Bismarck had a black cat, Oscar, as its mascot. The Bismarck sank May 27, 1941 when the British destroyer Cossack hit it with a torpedo. The members of the Cossack searched for survivors and found Oscar floating on debris.
The British seamen took Oscar in and renamed him Unsinkable Sam and adopted him. About 5 months later, the Cossack was sunk by a German U-Boat.
The British Aircraft carrier Ark Royal came after to search for survivors. Oscar was again floating on debris. The seamen again rescued Oscar and adopted him. Three weeks later, a German submarine torpedoed the Ark Royal near Gibraltar and sunk the ship. Oscar again was in the water.
The British Navy became superstitious. Oscar was sent to live in a retirement home for sailors in Belfast, Ireland.Oscar lived at the home until 1955 when he passed to the Rainbow Bridge.

Hi
Today I am visiting you with a very special request.
Another of my best friends here in CC is very ill, his name is Tigger 94310. I would like to ask all of cat's pawrents to join my mom in a fasting and prayer day for the healing of tigger(we kitties can't fast so we'll need our pawrents help). It will start tommorrow sept 9 at 6am and ends thursday 10 at 6am, during this period of time all pawrents will be praying and fasting for the healing of tigger(you can have liquids)
Also send your prayers to his page tommorrow. Lets all that can support this friend and his mom with our prayers.

Hi Guys
It is so hot, we think our dad is losing weight. Missy escaped last night into a heavy rain. Dad chased her around the yard and gave up. She was soaking wet sitting outside the door, but ran off when the door was opened. Finally dad cracked the door and opened a fancy feast can. He was knocked down by a wet black and white rocket. The rest of the crew has been busy tearing up the house. OG, upside down somewhere. Taz and Zippi playing tag and wall running. Dad has been drinking lots of fluids because of the heat. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!
Stopping by on this glorious day, to leave all of you a vote, catch up on my weekly blogs, and to wish all of you a very happy, healthy and safe memorial day!! Let us all "PAWS" and remember just what this day really means and for what it stands for!!
Now...filling you all in on the week as always it has been a busy week for Meowmie. But, she gotthe chance to rest also and did not have to baby sit or any thing but this coming week she will once again be down at the daughters to help from Wednesday through Saturday or maybe even Sunday! Meowmie is a special lady, always thinking of others instead of herself. Sometimes she doesn't even change out of her pajama's during the day, comb her hair or any thing so she can just do for me and Poppie, or baby sit if she has the Grandson here. She is always cleaning the house even though it is just us usually. Meowmie says she enjoys it that way too. Company makes her nervous. LOL! Any way today is finally a rain free day so far but expecting thunderstorms this eening. It IS heating up too fast. Meomwie isn't feeling too well today though because of something she calls "Female issues". She has alot of problems with that every month and it is getting worse and Meowmie and Poppie have been discussing surgery. Meowmie is worried because she has no insurance but needs to have something done. Poppie said for her to do whatever she feels she needs to do and he will make arrangements on the bill. She said maybe she will be blessed enough to not have to have any thing done. But she has a rough go of it for 2 or 3 days. I am glad I don't have that to worry with. But if I could trade places with my Meowmie to make her fell better on those days I sure would. She is also very upset at the neighbor for pitching a fit over the QUILT!! It has been over 10 years and the neighbor was acting like it was HERS and just got all upset over the fact Meowmie went and got it. Meowmie said she needed to go to anger management or counseling or if any thing see a psychiatrist! Well, so much for that. Gotta go and see that Meowmie takes her Motrin for the pain. HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!
Well, stopping by to say HELLO to every one, leave another vote too, and to catch up on my weekly blogs and fill you all in on Meowmie and me and all of the weekly happenings. And BOY what a week for Meowmie and Poppie and the whole neighborhood it has been! Meowmie knew all about it too for a whole month, but because of what the neighbor said to her in a hateful manner, Meowmie kept her mouth shut to the whole crowd!! Long story short...neighbor called Meowmie about a well water situation she was confused about. Poppie's bro' has had his water tapped on to neighbors well for YEARS. Well, he had to move, so neighbor cut water off; water was also illegally tapped from Poppie's bro's line, to their Moma's rental trailor. Ergo, the man renting the trailor had no water!! So, the neighbor asked Meowmie about it and Meowmie told her that no body tells her any thing about any thing any more, and she didn't know what was going on. Neighbor told Meowmie in a hateful attitude..."That is because you run and blab to the whole territory!" So, having said that, Meowmie kept her mouth SHUT and told not one soul about the water being cut off. Long story short...man in trailor without water for 4 days, Poppie's Mom had to fork out $$$ for county water and all. Made her mad so she and neighbor got in to it. WHEW!!! WHAT A MESS!!! meowmie is SO GLAD to know she and Poppie have their OWN EVERY thing and do NOT have to bumm from NO BODY!! Meowmie did have a quilt that she and her late Mommie made together that was sentimental that she let the neighbor borrow during the great blizzard of '93. Meowmie went Sunday night and FINALLY got it back and said she was THROUGH with those neighbors!! WHEW!! Well as far as Easter went, it went really well!! COLD DAMP AND RAINY a little bit, but it all in all went rather well. Meowmie is looking for a few summer clothes now and got a FREE SHIPPING card from JC PENNEY so she is hurrying me off of the 'puter now so she can go and see what she can order. LOL!! Please excuse our tartiness in answering our blogs. We are already 1/2 way through Mom's four day vacation and she is four days behind on my blogs! She promised she would catch us up this weekend. She better get busy. We don't want our friends to think we have forgotten them! Congrats on the upcoming baby! I assume this will be the first baby in your family? Cool. No Mom is not a Vet. She is a social worker in a nursing home. She just volunteers at the s/n clinic. She checks in the cats/dogs, does the paperwork and watches the animals in recovery. Here's a vote. I am not sure what we are doing for Easter but do know we get toys. Mom bought plastic basketballs that come apart (instead of Easter eggs) and will put our old toys inside them so we can chase them! Be good??? Us? We ALWAYS are! Yep, Ennis learned and has not jumped on that bookcase again. No rescues around here except when I went into the Oranda tank but I really didn't need rescuing. I just jumped back out and proudly walked away! The fish you ask? Oh, they didn't come out in the tsunami, they just ran for the corner! We have moved on from the fish tanks to jumping high. Ennis got to the top of the 7' bookcase, how we will never know but when he started to jump down, using an aquarium, Mom steered him to the other side and made him get down by himself to see how difficult it was and hopefully not do it again. So far so good. Isn't this warm weather wonderful!!!! I think we are done with the snow here. Looks like low 30's to mid 50's weather wise all week. We had a quiet weekend. Mom was gone saturday 8 to 8 helping at the spay/neuter clinic. They had a big "Operation Catsnip" affair. Did 224 cats. Boy was she tired when she got home. she's going to a smaller one again next Sunday. Here's a vote. Peace and love. Have a purrfect evening.
