How We Met

In February 2005, my beloved cat from the time I was born (and I mean this almost literally), passed away from Renal Failure. With just a turtle and no cats, the house became quiet. Too quiet. So one weekend in April of 2005, when my father and my litle brother were out, I begged my mom to take me to the local shelter near our house to look at cats. My mom said and I quote "Okay but ONLY to LOOK!" So, when we got there, we were directed to the back of this very small shelter to where all the cats were. There was only four of them, and right away when my eyes met Chelsea's(whose name at the time was Carolina which did not fit her) I knew she was my cat. I guess my mom did too, since she also fell in love with Chelsea. We asked what gender the cat was and how old she was. They told us, felmale about 5 months. And they told us that she was purebreed Himalayan. We played with her for a while, and just really fell in love with her. I think another thing that sealed the deal was the fact that I wanted to get her out of that shelter. All the cats were sick w/ respatory infections, and hers was pretty bad. At that point, I wanted to take them all home, espcially an orange kitten probably about Chelseas age at the time had really seemed to have taken a shine to me. My mom asked how much Chelsea was, and after a good bit of begging with my dad, my mom went home and got the money. The only other thing we had to do was take her back in a few weeks for a checkup. To make a long story short, only about 2 weeks after we got Chelsea from the shelter who claimed that they charged so much money because they were struggling (even thought the owner drove an expensive car) had shut down. And even thought they may have charged a pretty penny (i'm not gonna say the exact amount) it was all worth it. My house is now very un-quiet and has 3 cats and the 3 newborn kittens.
