It’s the second day of celebration on my cloud, who says we Angels don’t know how to party?

I was thrilled and humbled to peek out from under my rainbow blankie this morning and see my third COTD badge winking back at me. It was back in 2010 that Angel Duckie approached me about doing a campaign, I had no idea what that was even all about but being an adventurous Angel I said “yes”. It was through that first COTD that my family first met so many of you kitties who have since become friends. Some water has passed under the Bridge since then, but one thing stays the same. ♥ Thank you for Honoring my little PAPPOOSE #10366 with making her win her First Forever Sleep COTD today 4/25/2013!!!

♥ It's true to what you say about how fast the year went, but not to me!!! It seems like Pappoose has been gone way longer than only a year!!! Yes, I have wonderful memories of my little girl.

♥ Pappoose was a very Ladylike girl as when walking in the grass she would walk with such grace that it looked like she tip toed through the grass. She was a petite girl and had several friends and family who also fell in love with her. Yes, my sweet Pappoose captured many hearts♥ not just here at home, but also our CC friends!!! She never got on the counters and rarely on the kitchen table. She was the best well-mannered kitty!!!

♥ When Pappoose first became an inside girl, Rhoamin 2921 took her in being the greatest fur brother to her. He played with her and they got along so well. Heck, Pappoose got along with all the kitties xcept for Sassee 10605 and Callie 239447. Those two bullied her til she was terrified. She wasn't too keen being around our dog Carly, but she put up with her.

♥ MEMORIES, Yes, I have beautiful and fun memories playing with and loving the sweetest little girl a momma could want!!! We also miss our other friends who went to their Forever Sleep in the matter of days like Anna 50686; Callie 89317 & Baby 8574.

VOTE WINDY POINT ANGELS # 237234 COTD 4/5
As many of you know, 17 year old Minnie D Purrl crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 4/2. Minnie was a member of a wonderful family of cats known as the Windy Point Gang.

We’re choosing to copy Dad Mike’s exact words that he used to tell us she had crossed--

“She was losing her battle with Hyperthyroidism and her quality of life had decreased dramatically over the last five days. This afternoon Minnie was assisted by our vet, Dr Madsen and myself on her journey. She was 17 years old when she passed.

It is particularly sad for me because Minnie had given me a litter of seven Easter Kitties when she was only 9 months old. I always celebrated Mother's Day with her on Easter. (Sigh...) This year we celebrated with some baby food that I held for her since she was too weak to stand and eat.

Minnie leaves behind her boyfriend Tiger Mann, who is the last of the original Windy Pointers...and of course, her sad Dad.”

Minnie is now a member of the Windy Point Angels #237234, those members of the Windy Point Gang who are now Angels at the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that this special group of Angels has never received their COTD badge, and we want to change that by making them our COTD winner on 4/6. 2/23/13 Happy Caturday and Big Thank You All!
Sorry we did not start yesterday, but mom was just feeling overtired with all the snow she had to clear and then there was Zeus, who snuck out twice! The snow was soft and up to his neck. Didn't stop him! Mom just stood outside and let him have a good run, because chasing him wouldn't have done any good and he does know where the door is.

Anyway, we want to thank you so much for our Meezers ACOTD and all the friends, who came by in memory of the fourth Anniversary of A.Rosebud's passing. Rosebud was very special to mom and I don't know how much you know of her story. She was originally rescued as a kitten by a friend of mom's. She was probably over two years, when mom's friend asked her to kitty sit Rosebud and another female black LH named Midnight for the first time, because they were moving to Duluth, MN and did not have a house picked out in that area yet. The two cats were neither spayed or vet checked for a long time, so mom took them on the agreement that she would get that done, with no cost to the family. Mom's friend has a learning disability and the family had other dysfunctions, including an alcoholic husband. The cats were not abused, but there was never money for proper vet care. Anyway, the cats were spayed and returned to the family, once they had a home in that city. A few years passed and the family was moving again. This time they had Rosebud and a year old pup named Ginger and were planning a drive to Florida. Midnight, who was up in her teens, had passed the Bridge due to breast cancer. When mom had her spayed, she had several tumors and they had been removed, but they did come back and she was brought to a vet and euthanized, before they moved again. The Tumors were inoperable and cancer had spread. Anyway, this time they asked mom to take Rosebud and keep her, because they knew mom loved Rosebud and would give her the best home possible. Mom also asked for their dog, a Rottweiler mix. She could see that Ginger was very gentle and friendly, but fearing the family had been living homeless more than once, she knew that often Animal Control people would simply euthanize certain breeds of dogs, if they were taken in. Mom was determined that that would not happen to Ginger. The original contract was that they had to demonstrate they had jobs and a secure place to live. That did not happen. Ginger is almost 13 and still with us.

Sorry, we were going to tell more about Rosebud too, but are running out of room, so will do that on Tuesday. Needless to say, she also lived with mom several years until she crossed the Bridge. Thank you so much for all your votes, both for her, our Angel Meezers and for me, King Barney. As I come to my last week, I cannot totally tell you what a special time it has been and do hope our friend JosieMae has as much fun as we have. Love to all, K.Barney and family, mom Judi too.

1/18/13 A Real TGIF from Barney!!! 20 degrees
Sorry furrends, mom just is having a hard time with the early schedule. Her eyes are blurry this morning and she is blaming us, imagine that! It's probably Molly's fault. She decided to sleep in Zeus's room and Andy too. What do they know, maybe its a bit warmer in there. A few of you asked for the rest of Molly's story. We basically finished it yesterday, except to say she generally keeps the household on schedule. Ah-Ha! She gets mom to bed on time, gets her up, makes sure the dogs get out, makes sure mom gets food on the tables at the appropriate times, etc! You have the idea.

Well today we are starting Andy's story. Also known as Handy Andy, Andy came to us about 3 yrs ago, He and another cat named Milo (not related to any other Andy and Milo on CC) were with a group of cats being fed in a garage off a Minneapolis alleyway. The volunteer feeding them noticed that Andy and Milo were friendlier than the other cats and thought they had been abandoned by a neighbor, who had moved out a few months earlier. Andy was the youngest, under a year, and Milo always ate together with him and made sure he got his share of food from the bowl. Our volunteer was amazed at how the older cat always shared with the younger and concluded that they must have been from the same household, though not the same age. She asked if a foster home could be found, because she did not have room in her home and was concerned that a few cats had disappeared from the alley and , perhaps, came to a bad end.

Mom immediately volunteered to take both cats, because she had just had our last foster adopted and the large guestroom was available. Plenty of room for two cats, as long as they got along, which they surely did.

Before coming to us as fosters, Andy and Milo went to the vet to be checked out. They were basically in good health, except for parasites, worms and fleas. Andy needed neutering and Milo was already fixed (didn't know he was broken!). They were definitely friendly and went immediately into the adoption program.

Well, again we must continue the story tomorrow. We will tell you, however, that Andy and Milo were originally adopted by a family with one other male cat, a white Persian, but they did not get along and were returned to mom, because of fighting. Mom had advised the family to keep the cats separated and to use gradual introductions, but, as happens more often than we would like, the humans did not seem to get "gradual" and said the cats were breaking through the plastic barrier they had erected.

Sweet friends, thank you for taking time to stop by and help us celebrate this glorious day with us. We've had the best time today and what a honor it has been to have our picture in the winner's circle. Mom is so proud. We will tell you that Angel ET decided to let all of us share that shiny badge although it really was her badge to hold. Since you're here, please help us celebrate into the night. We still have plenty of beetle brownies, tuna cheesecake squares and stinkbug cookies. The Lizard Lemonade is still flowing and so is the tuna tea--we have plenty to go 'round. Sorry for cut/paste, but I've been so overwhelmed lately and this was totally unexpected. Thanks for remembering my Piu on the anniversary of her crossing. Hard to believe it's been 5 years. In 2012 I also lost Rocky in January, my mom in October and then Rusty followed her the day before Thanksgiving. Hopefully 2013 will be better as my dad took in a new kitty I named Boots. I call her Butt-Butt as she loves to head-butt. She showed up after Hurricane Sandy (my mom's name) in October, right after my mom died and we just picked her up and threw her in the house on Christmas Day! She is still getting used to living indoors and will be having her first vet appointment next week. Thanks again for thinking of my dear Piu. I still miss her.

I know that my page has won a few times when CC was active on here but this was the very first time that I won myself! Yay! I think I looked really good in the spotlight. Mama said I'd better not let it go to my head. haha Too late!

I'm sorry that I didn't stop by right away. I don't know how the humans are always so busy, I see no evidence of anything different, but it's hard to find time for myself on here.

Did you know that the Cat Channel is changing this weekend? Be afraid, be very afraid!We survived (barely) the changeover on the DC and lost half of our friends. We're into the 6th month now and things are still not working over there. It's a tragedy. I'm assured that the change here will be smoother and they're not supposed to be changing the way we blog. However, I'm not convinced so I persuaded mama I had to get my thank yous in while the channel's still working.

So, here I am! Thank you very much. I was overwhelmed with how many kitties stopped by to congratulate me. I think there are more kitties active on here than ever before. So nice to see the community thriving. It kind of reminds me of how the DC used to be before losing so many members.

First, I want to apologize for the lateness of my thank you. Due to several family issues mom has been unable to spend much time on computer. Dad had a wreck, then Mom's mom was put in hospital, and then a couple of more family health issues. On top of that she is part of The United Way committee for her Job this year and has had to attend several functions. So now we don't hardly get any time! It is terrible. We are now a very neglected gang.
That being said I am going to have to C&P this just so We can get everyone thanked, please accept our apologies and hope you understand.

Now, thank you so much for coming by. The party was fun and everyone had a good time. My earth sibs made some of our famous Milk punch for those still earth bound. They like any reason to make it!!! MOL. Not only did I get Cat of the Day (which mom missed cuz she did not get on computer that weekend), It also made her very sad that she missed my very special day, I was rescue cat of the day also.
So thank you for making my day so special. It really meant a lot to all of us. Mom still misses all her angels. Well mom says I have to go as she is at work trying to get this done without getting caught!!!! Have a great weekend.

Thank you so much for congratulating Angel Nala for her ACOTD win. When brother saw how caring and loving all the kitties and their pawrents were on CC, he was deeply touched. He couldn't believe that a catpaign would be run in honor of his boot camp graduation and in honor of the love he had for sweet Nala. His graduation was awesome, and mom is so glad she was able to go. He is a handsome young Marine, and anxious to continue his training and serve his country. Belle and Family
After a very long absence we we're back online...then as you know I crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Dad was heartbroken and through the daily tears caught up with as many friends as possible. Then well the unimaginable happened. Dad kept hearing crys at night but couldn't find where they we're coming from. He thought he was dreaming of me or just hearing things. After a week he was determined to find out where it was coming from. You'll probably guess what came next. Yep! There was a young cat what appeared to be living under the porch. Dad could only get close enough to see it was hurt before it would run away. After a few days of feeding and cooing Dad got it. It was a young male about a year old badly beaten up. Horrible wounds on his neck and legs. Our absence this time came from the huge vet bill that he incurred with this emergency. Huge cutbacks for two months. Still no income yet from the accident....sometime this fall hopefully, anyway many things went bye-bye to pay the dr. bill.....cable, internet, air conditioning(and yes it has been hot). The kitty has recovered and up to date on the bills so internet restored. And my oh my what a surprise to us all to see I was graced with such a reward as COTD! We are so Blessed by the warmth and love shown to us all here on Cat Channel. The kitty has been named Leo, cause dad says he looks like a little lion. Picture up soon hopefully. No one really likes him but for the most part it has been smooth transitioning him into the house. Has helped soften the blow by my absence but I know he still misses me so. Will take a few days to catch up and get all of my Thank You's delivered. Hopefully this will see you well and know that our gratitude for all the blessings stowed upon will be remembered forever. As I paw away I leave behind a vote ofcourse and the biggest hug my paws allow.

I want to thank all of you for the honors and for all of the goodies and remembrance of my passing to the RB on 7-28. I can't believe I've been here at the Bridge for 8 years now.
