To tell you the truth, there really hasn’t been much happening with the Girl Power Crew lately! Ok, there is this from a few days back when mom used that weedeater and scared most all the outside kitties into hiding then on Monday she mowed the back yard so most all of them went into hiding again!

Oh!, and there’s this thing I told you about my mama Kittzi 160203 was using the potty box lid for her bed…… well, mom figured it out that Kittzi was telling her she needed that MiraLax again cuz she was having problems with it being hard coming out of her! Guess mom’s getting to know some kitty signs and talk! MOL!

For those of you who had voted for me in the GIRL KITTY CONTEST sponsored by SassySu, I want to say Thank You, but mom pulled me from the contest for purrrsonal reasons. She said maybe another time!

On Thursday morning when mom came in our room to scoop out our potty boxes then came to say Good Morning to me and Kittzi, well, Kittzi decided to bite mom's left index finger and it started bleeding. All mom was doing was petting her, but guess she didn't want petted. Mom's ok though and she never even raised her voice nor got mad at her! She just told Kittzi it's ok!

Ok, ok! So I told a little kitty fib of saying “not much has been happening”! So kiss me for that! MOL! Oh, and, Mom also just changed my profile picture to one taken on May Day!

For the next several months we may not be on too often as mom and dad will be xtra busy. We will try to get on when we can!

The temperature was high 49 & low was 31 this morning, now it's 45 with humidity 82% & wind is 9 MPH SSW. Thursday's suppose to be Rain & High 49.

♥ Mom was hearing me meowing this morning so she came out to check on me. She seen I was sitting up and looking at her so she decided to give me some Friskies Favorites dry and I started eating it. Mom seen that I could actually see the bowl, too, which made her happy! I have been improving more throughout the day. Mom said that I was even better than yesterday today when dad held me while mom gave me my SubQ Fluids! I purr good when mom gives me lovings. I'm using the small litter pan now, but I haven't went poo yet, but mom says I should be doing that in the next couple days.

♥ Mom has been taking pictures of me being in this crate and has added FIVE new ones into my picture gallery with the newest one added last as well as it being my profile photo.

♥ Mom and I do Thank you and appreciate all your prayers and support for me. I'm feeling so much better!

The temperature was high 50 & low was 39 this morning, now it's 50 with humidity 58% & wind is 7 MPH N. Wednesday's suppose to be Rain & High 47.

♥ FIRST; Dr. Liz called mom late this morning with the RESULTS from my bloodwork. Most of it was fairly good. The Feline Leukemia test is Negative. However, some of the tests shows that I have EARLY KIDNEY DISEASE! Mom asked Dr. Liz again also, if she's sure I did have a stroke. She did say NOT for positive without the MRI but it's possible along with inner ear & mild URI.

♥ Mom had dad hold me this morning while mom gave me some SubQ fluids. Mom said I was a good boy. Mom has also noticed that I can see more than just light as I follow her movement though it seems I can't see upclose things. Mom also says I seem to be more alert today, too!

♥ About my girlfriend, NeuBee 123633; Mom tells me that she's been bunking with Suezee 11528 which makes mom & I happy as she won't go into a depression so much {New picture in my gallery}! NeuBee came to the glass sliding door today so mom fed her there, but before mom put food out for her, mom got me out of the crate & took me to the slider so NeuBee & I could see each other, but NeuBee backed away so mom opened the slider a little then put me down on the floor while still holding me then NeuBee came towards me & gave me a gentle headbutting then mom put me back in the crate!

10222 ~ UPDATE 2/18: SYLVESTER KNIGHT #11567 ~
The temperature was high 48 & low was 30 this morning, now it's 47 feels like 48 with humidity 63% & wind is 7 MPH SW. Tuesday's suppose to be Mostly Cloudy & High 48.

♥ Mom said I was a purr*fect patient for Dr. Liz this morning since this was my first vet visit in my 11 years of not seeing a vet other than for my big boy surgery at 9 month old in February 2002. I weighed in @ 11.2 lbs. Dr. Liz had her Assistant take my BP {165/135} which was fairly normal then Dr. Liz checked my eyes & ears which my ears were good & no infection that she could see. My heart sounded good, kidneys felt good as did my bladder. Everything checked out good so she wanted bloodwork & urinalysis done which she had to draw urine out of me. Before we were to leave, Dr. Liz wanted to see me walk. Once she seen I kept wanting to go to my right & did eye reflexing test, she confirmed what mom thought which was I did have a stroke Friday night! I didn't respond to the eye reflex, but I did repond to the light when she shined it in my eyes.

♥ She prescribed an antibiotic {Azithromycin} to clear up my weepy right eye and in case of any infection which I'm getting 1/4 tsp per a day. Mom had to get that @ Wal*Mart & I took it well when mom gave me my first dose today. I'm also suppose to get SubQ Fluids that mom and dad will give me at home. I am eating good and that has not been a problem! I haven't used the litter pan since I can't see it so I just pee on my blanket. Mom tells me it's ok and makes sure I have dry bedding so I don't have to lay on it!

QUINCY'S #180493 Momma Linda is home from the hospital recuperating.

Yesterday was such a warm and beautiful day that we got to take sun☼ baths and as our bodies soaked up all that warmth we thought it was Spring. Teakee 25544 liked it so well that mom caught her rolling on her back on our feeding table. MOL! What a wonderful day it was!

OMG! LOOK WHAT MOM DID! She changed my profile picture to my mewest one, but she also put it in a pretty frame! That's the first time she's ever been able to do this!

Sorry I missed your big day yesterday, Mom would not stay on the Internet long enough for me to have a turn! Hope you had a nice day, and hope your Mom gave you a special treat!

I was a bad girl today! Mom is growing alfalfa sprouts in a plastic sprout basket on the countertop. Today she decided to put the sprout basket on the top of the toaster under the kitchen window so they could green up a bit. They are about 5 days old and ready to put in a bag in the refrigerator. Anyway, she heard all this crash and banging, followed by my meowing ( howling actually) so she and Dad ran to the kitchen to see what was going on. I had turned Mom's bowl of sprouts upside down on the countertop, and the bowl was on the floor. I had gotten scared and instead of jumping down, I decided to go higher! I was up on top of the refrigerator crying! Mom was hollering at me for making a big mess, but Dad went to the fridge and coaxed me down into his arms. He took me to the living room to rock me while Mom cleaned up the mess. She picked up the sprouts and put them in a new bowl, washed them really good, and stuck them in the fridge. She says I am a real plunder puss!

♥ Mom is pretty tired tonight as Whyskrs' 10378 woke mom up many times (about a dozen) throughout last night and early this morning. Yes, I, too meowed, but only once as did Bahneetah 10641 and Sassee 10605. Jazpyr 10428 only did it when mom was already up from Whyskrs meowing and pawing.

♥ Mom straightened up the house this morning along with a little dusting and vacuuming. She also vacuumed dad's comforter off. Guess she didn't want our fur left there!!!! Tehehehe!!!!

The early morning temperatures have only been down about the mid 40s, but mom still puts our bed warmer (SnuggleSafe) in the microwave late at night for me and Teakee 25544 to stay warmer and we really like it, too!

Mom did an embarrassing thing to Teakee yesterday as she had a spot of dried poo poo on her butt so while mom was petting Teakee, mom did a slow pet down her back to her hip and then quickly pulled that poo poo off. It was like lightning as Teakee didn't know what got her! MOL! Mom had to do that once before long ago.

Today is NeuBee's 123633 FOUR year CC Anniversary!

a very special cake designed especially for you for today nuebee! we have special games too as here we can't play them outside with 11" left on the ground after saturday's dumping of 24"! gonna melt more through friday then turn really cold for the weekend and warming up again monday and tuesday with showers/fog/more melting so can't wait for that. janet's car is on it's way to being fixed and will like all other mass. drivers paying the first $500 which she'll do nicely next week or when she gets the form from her insurance as things are mighty slow now a days and seems like they take forever to get here! sandy, ana, haley, angels

You know I like eating in bed, right? Well, mom has added a couple pictures of me in my picture gallery at the bottom of my page where one it is Supper time and the other is mom coming with my Lunch! Mom also added one of me getting a late night drink. MOL!

There is this one pesky raccoon that likes to hang around at night and mom says it's a young one maybe last Fall baby. It loves to play and run as well as in our water bowl and TRIES to eat our kibbles, but mom makes sure it doesn't as she stays close to us when we eat. Teakee 25544 likes to eat on our feeding table which is just a few feet from our bed, but when she sees the coon then she won't eat at all and leaves the table. The coons doesn't bother me as long as they stay away from where I am.

Mom has a couple more errands this morning which one is in the next city (Springfield) about 10 miles one way. We will try to get some visiting in this morning with the CMR; COTM Catidate Josie Mae; COTD and King Barney done furrrst.

It was a foggy day all of Friday which it was a bit chilly, too, and suppose to be again today! Purrrsonally, I'm staying in bed! MOL!

I'm a timid girl and a semi-small kitty. Mom thinks I weigh about 7-9 pounds though she's never held me. I do let her pet me though even while I'm in my bed! It doesn't take much to scare me especially by my blood half-sis Sissee 11531. She thinks it's fun to terrorize me, but she does get in trouble if mom sees her even eyeing me up! MOL! She's such a bully to me!

Please pray for our sweet furrriend QUINCY'S #180493 momma Linda as she has been sick for awhile now plus having to go to work.

♥ Guess what I have been doing???? Ok, I'll tell you so you don't have to guess!!!! I have been pretty active the past few mornings with running through the house. This is something I don't do often. Mom says it makes her heart♥ happy to see me like that, but not in the wee hours of the mornings!!!! Tehehehe!!!! She said I sound like a herd of elephants when I run!!!!

we've got

GOOD MORNING GIRL POWER CREW
The Reef Bay trail starts at Centerline Road about 5 miles east of Cruz Bay. The trail leads between Centerline Road & the ruins of the Reef Bay sugar factory which is close to Genti Bay beach. This trail is very well kept and descends 937 feet from the road to the Reef Bay Valley. It will take approximately 2 hours of downhill trekking for you to enjoy the entire hike. Along the trail you will see many beautiful and unique sights. At the start of your hike you will notice a stone stairway just on the southern side of the road. This is where your journey begins. As you begin, you will see an old stone wall. This is all that is left of the wall that once protected the horsemill that once stood on these grounds. You will venture off through the sub-tropical forest on a trail that follows the course of the Reef Bay Gut. You will enjoy seeing on the different tropical vegetation that is known in this beautiful upper valley. You will notice many signs along your way that will give you a wealth of information regarding the environment around this valley. Some of the trees that you will see as you begin your descent include locust, sandbox, kapok, mammee apple and mango. The next great attraction will be the Josie Gut Sugar Estate. All that remains is the ruins. You will see the horsemill and its unusual circular shape which is being supported by the stone wall. As you leave Josie Gut and head back down to the sea you will relax just a bit as the incline is not as steep and the atmosphere changes into a dryer forest. The trees are not as large and the greenery is becoming denser. You will see the ruins of a small home that was in built in 1930. This area is known as Estate Par Force. Miss Anna Marsh was once the owner of this home and would give her permission for visitors to travel on down to the sea or to see the petroglyphs. In 1938, Miss Marsh was murdered and the house was left to decay. The next intersection you will find on your hike down the Reef Bay trail is the Petroglyph Trail going west. You will love taking this path even if it is off your course. It might be a nice time to have your picnic before you travel on down the trail. As you hike the rest of the way to the bay you will see citrus trees such as limes. The closer you get to the sea the trail will go through some low marshy type areas. The holes that you can see in the ground are created by land crabs that make this area home. Now, you are at the end of the trail and the Reef Bay sugar factory ruins are in sight. Most of all the land that you travel from Centerline Road to where you are now standing was once owned by the Marsh family. The restroom facilities that you notice were constructed with monies that Ladybird Johnson donated after her hike down Reef Bay Trail to find their were no facilities available.****** Pictures on the bottom of my page.There are many more pictures and more information if you google search it on your computer. GOOD MORNING GIRL POWER CREW
This is such a pretty and interesting place. You can wander around ALL DAY,there is so much to see. For cats it is lots of fun as there are so many nooks and crannies to explore. The view is breathtaking !
Virgin Islands National Park: Annaberg Plantation, as of 1780, was one of 25 active sugar producing factories on St. John. Other products produced at Annaberg were molasses and rum. Annaberg was named after William Gottschalk's daughter and translates to Anna's Hill. Gottschalk was the plantation owner. Slave labor was used to clear densely forested hillsides and to terrace the slopes around Annaberg to make farming possible. Slave labor was also used to plant, harvest and process the sugarcane. When slavery was abolished, plantations were divided. The 518 acres that were once Annaberg Plantation were divided into smaller farms.
Today the plantation ruins are protected by the Virgin Islands National Park and are open to the public. Trees have reclaimed the hillsides around Annaberg. A trail leads through factory ruins, slave quarters, windmill and other remains. Placards and signs along the trails describe how sugar was produced and discuss plantation life and the history behind sugar plantations on St. John and in particular Annaberg.
The windmill at Annaberg, one of focal points of the site, was built possibly between 1810 and 1830, and was one of the largest in the islands. Thirty four feet in diameter at the base and twenty feet at the top, the mill stands thirty eight feet high. When there was no wind to work the windmill, a horse mill would be used. The horses or mules were plodded in a circular motion; this turned the upright rollers in the center of the platform. Slaves passed cane stalk through the rollers and a box at the bottom caught the juice. The juice ran by gravity through gutters to the factory for processing. Three to five hundred gallons of juice could be produced in an hour.
The cane juice flowed first into a large copper kettle, where a fire was lit beneath. The excess water evaporated and workers would ladle the juice from one kettle to the next, down a line of five kettles. The juice eventually became concentrated through various levels of heating and evaporation. The concentrated juice was then placed in a box to crystallize. The crystallized brown sugar was then put in barrels that held up to 1600 pounds of sugar. Early removal from the last heated kettle prevented crystals from forming however produced molasses that was used to make rum.

10,145 -- HI BFF NEUBEE!
Been trying to get Mom to let me get on the computer so I could tell you how much I enjoyed having you as the Knight Girl Power reporter last month!

It's been fairly quiet here since all the holiday family gatherings are over. One of Mom's brothers came over with a new lady friend last week. He is a widower and has started seeing a few ladies. Anyhow, i took a real fancy to this particular lady. I got up in her lap, then wanted to rub my face on the lady's face. Mom kept telling me to get down and that I was embarrassing with my clinginess! After a bit, the lady got a strained look on her face so Mom pulled me off of her and held me herself. She said I was a pest, MOL!

Loved the sound of your Mom's dinner. My Mom said way, way back in the old days, her Mom would take a pound of hamburger meat, fry it with onions in a big iron skillet, then cover it with a couple of cans of cream corn, dot with margarine, then cover the top with a big pan of home made mashed, whipped potatoes. She then stuck it in the oven for 30 minutes or so. When it came out, she could feed a hungry family of 7 who had big appetites a satisfying supper for pennies per serving. Mom's Mom knew all the tricks of feeding a large family on the least amount of money,, .but all the food had to be prepared and cooked the looooong way, no fast food there! She basically spent her days in the kitchen but Mom still remembers how well her Mom could cook!

HI GIRL POWER CREW !
Well, are you all ready to leave for St.John ? Easy and most of The V.I.Kitties spent yesterday bringing chairs, tables, umbrellas, coolers, rafts, catamarans, small sailboats, snorkle gear, volley balls, beach balls, towels, sunscreen and most every thing else they could think of you might need over from Easys beach. There is fishing gear too. Any of you who have been to Easys beach and would rather go there, there is transportation. For others we will go to the World Famous Trunk Bay. There is no camping on Trunk Bay but just down the road is Cinnamon Bay, where you can pitch your tent. Of course there is Easys beach.

Trunk Bay is the most famous beach on St. John and possibly the most famous beach in all the Caribbean. It has perfect powdery white sand and an under water snorkel trail with plaques describing the various items that snorklers can see on the bottom.
It has consistently been voted one of the Ten Best Beaches in The World by Condé Nast Traveler magazine and has received similar recognition from other publications. Also, the National Geographic Society has labeled Trunk Bay as the most beautiful beach in the world. It is one of the most popular beaches on St. John.
St. John has 33 beautiful beaches that line its shores.

There will be members of my family around to answer questions and help you any way they can. Pete will have planes and helicopters to get you to St.Thomas then to St.John. I hope you enjoy !

I will not be miffed at my human all day and then kiss her on the nose at 2:00 a.m. to tell her that she is forgiven and can now pet me.
I will not scratch the children of lawyers, no matter how much they chase me or how hard they pull my tail.
If I MUST claw my human, I will not do it in such a fashion that the scars resemble a botched suicide attempt.
If I must give a present to my human's overnight guests, my toy mouse is much more socially acceptable than a big live cockroach, even if it isn't as tasty.
I will not soak my catnip toy in the water bowl to make tea. I will not get high and sit there drinking my tea and kneading the floor afterwards. I will not then get delusions of grandeur and make tea in the toilet bowl or the tub. And I will not try to make tea with used socks, dirty panties or hair scrunches when my humans take the catnip toy away from me.
A warm pepperoni pizza is not a good place for a nap.

Yes, there are still two very large dogs in the backyard. There have been for several years. I don't have to act as if I've just discovered the Demon Horror of the Universe each time one of them appears in my window.
I will not play "dead cat on the stairs" while people are trying to bring in groceries or laundry, or else one of these days, it will really come true.
When the humans play darts, I will not leap into the air and attempt to catch them.
I will not swat my human's head repeatedly when she's on the family room floor trying to do sit ups.
When my human is typing at the computer, her forearms are *not* a hammock.
Computer and TV screens do not exist to backlight my lovely tail.
I am a walking static generator. My human doesn't need my help installing a new board in her computer.
I will not bring the city police to the front door by stepping on the speaker phone button and then the automatic 911 dial button.
I will not speed dial the overseas numbers.

Any critter that lives in the house (hamsters), stay in the house and any wild critters (frogs and earthworms) stay outside. I am not allowed to set the hamster free in exchange for finding a frog to put in the fish tank.
I will not stalk the deer in the apple orchard next door. They have sharp hooves and could hurt me if they weren't laughing so hard.

I love it when mom comes out to feed us as I meow at her when she's on the patio feeding the other kitties furrrst. She then comes to where Sausha 22506 and I eat, but Sausha usually eats in our bed. I do once in awhile, too. I let mom pet me most of the time just before I eat and lets mom hear my loud purring!

Sausha and I are littermate sisters and our other two littermate sisters Sayble and Velvet 10372 already went to their Forever Sleeps. We are the third litter from our fur mama Baby 13286.

Mom has been bringing out the SnuggleSafe, we call it our bed warmer, every night when she feeds us our last meal. Sometimes she has to fight getting it under our blankey with both me and Sausha in bed! MOL!

MYTH: Cats are loners, so it won't matter if my pet is home alone all day while I work.

TRUTH: Although they can be quite self-reliant when necessary, most cats are social creatures who need lots of attention and affection and shouldn't be left by themselves too long. If your job keeps you away from home for most of the day, consider adopting two kitties so they can keep each other company.

♥ Last night got really noisey around our neighborhood with the loud booms and bangs!!!! Mom fed everyone a bit earlier than normal cuz she knew there would be some going into hiding. Mom stayed up til about 12:30am. Everyone was accounted for this morning!!!!

♥ I had mom hold me this morning, then of course, Whyskrs 10378 and Jazpyr 10428 had mom hold them, too. Callie 239447 got in big trouble cuz she was whacking Jazpyr while he was in the litter box doing his business. Sassee 10605 kept meowing this morning til mom told dad she wanted some of his attention. Tehehehe!!!!

♥ DOLLY'S 222609 Momma Janada as she is still getting those injections for her infection which turns out to be a different strain of E-coli. She had to wait about 2+ hours at the ER just to get the injection on Monday. She's really tired & not on CC as much.

Great job reporting! All those girlie hugs from you all got me thru the month!!! Yeah...I'm digging the relaxed look and freedom of movement. Had to wiggle the ears a bit to get them all nice and pointy again...kind of smooshed from the crown :)
