Hi Mike,All
How are you today.Was nice this morning,but then we had another storm with hard rains.Mom had to go shopping for kitty food,and my treats,then by the time she got home it started raining and storming,so I have not got to go out at all today,ole storms.The thunder was so loud it sure scared us all,I hid way in the back of the cat tree until it was over,then I ran and got on he bed with mom,while she rested,going to the store sure did wear her out and started all the ole pain back for her,ole pain she said.Wicket hid in the kitty cube during the storm,Baby,Missy,Cindell just kept on napping.So nothing much going on here right now,I have made a few rounds through the house,looked out all the windows,ate treats,napped,carried mr,innertube,now I'm laying on the toy rug looking out the door,its getting dark out again,hope we don't have more of those storms,Wicket is laying on the other side of the toy Rug,Baby sitting on the cat tree,Missy,Cindell naping.Mom said if it did not storm later we might get to go out for a few minutes,I hope so I need to explore and eat my grass,so guess for now I'm stuck inside.Wow,you and Koshka came back home with a replica of the Brooklyn bridge,how did you all explain that,hehe!Did the worms get there yet?pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Pearl Harbor, Honolulu … This memorial is a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives on a fateful day which launched the US into World War II when the Japanese military attacked on December 7, 1941.

Wikipedia tells us Pearl Harbor is a lagoon harbor on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, west of Honolulu. Much of the harbor and surrounding lands is a United States Navy deep-water naval base. It is also the headquarters of the United States Pacific Fleet. The attack on Pearl Harbor by the Empire of Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941 brought the United States into World War II. On December 8, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan. In return, December 11, 1941, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States.

The USS Arizona Memorial is the most recognized icon of World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument, a unit of the National Park Service. Access is gained through the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Upon entering the visitor center, we head to the NPS Tickets & Information desk where we obtain free tickets for the USS Arizona Memorial program. While waiting for the tour to begin, we rent an audio tour headset, and explore the bookstore and exhibit galleries.

We watch a 75-minute program in one of two theaters. It includes a brief introduction to set the tone for the visit and a 23-minute documentary film which includes actual footage of the attack. After the film, we climb aboard a Navy-operated shuttle boat to the USS Arizona Memorial. Note: There are no public restroom facilities on the Memorial so we make quick stops before boarding our shuttle.

The Memorial spans the USS Arizona, a sunken WWII battleship which is the final resting place for most of her 1,177 Sailors and Marines killed in the December 7th attack. In the shrine room, we find a marble wall with the names of all of these men. In addition, we see a smaller marble wall, which lists the names of USS Arizona Survivors who, since passing away, have returned to their shipmates by having their ashes interred inside the fourth gun turret by Navy and NPS divers.

It is important to realize this is not a tourist attraction, but a memorial and grave that deserves to be treated with respect and reverence. This is a place of learning, reflection, and quiet contemplation.

Following our Pearl Harbor visit, we dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant, enjoying wonderful fish and local produce. The pineapple here is so very sweet. Tomorrow, we must head for the Dole Plantation.

Thank you for pouncing by to help me celebrate my 1st birthday yesterday Mike, Mallow & Evie! I had so much fun playing games, nibbling on the yummy goodies several of you brought along, blowing bubbles & popping balloons! I was so worn out that I slept in & would have missed breakfast if mom hadn't tickled my tummy to wake me up this morning...MOL! Thank you for making my birthday celebration more special by being here with me dear furiends!
I've got lots of goodies left so will leave each of you a cream cheese frosted catnip cupcake with tuna sprinkles & give you my sweetest hugs!

Yes, my Mom would get more gray hairs worrying about Mallow! My pawrents built a cat fence around the backyard, so Callie and I can sit outside, but we can't get over the fence. We stopped trying a long time ago.

My Mom must not have been reading the cat-signs from Whitey very well this morning, because Whitey got tired of Mom’s petting and she let Mom have it with both paws! Ouch! Mom knew it was her fault for not paying attention more, but she had been distracted with Orangie’s playing Sniff and Run with Mom. Mom was laughing at his antics and didn’t notice Whitey was getting annoyed! MOL! Us cats have to keep these humans on their toes!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the recent tornado outbreaks.

Giggle, giggle
That was so funny when we shorted O.J.'s and Mallows sheets. They each thought that the other had done it. If they discover that they didn't do it they'll blame good ole Steve. giggle giggle.

After that Dolly meets Mikey at the gangway carrying a blanket over his arm and helps Dolly down; then tells her to find a nice spot on the beach which she does. They sit down in the moonlight and Mikey brings out a bottle of specialty wine called "Flamboise" which he surprises her with. They sit sipping the wine and talk about their awesome day at Diamond Head Crater and lolani Palance and how they hate to see Q. Cherish's tour ending. She tells him how Cherish had made her a Lady in charge of the royal jewels and taught her so many customs and introduced her to lots of Royalty when they first started the tour, at how close they were and then she was the one to officiate at their wedding. Mikey notices tears in her eyes and reaches over to dry them and gives her a kiss. He tells her that they will continue to spend time with Cherish and bring her to visit at Ranibow Rose Manor, etc. Dolly catches her breath and stifles a sob and tells Mike that she was just a young lil kitten when Cherish took her under her wings, so to speak, and how she had matured so quickly under her tutorledge. Sniff.

Mikey and Dolly sit there and finish the wine, Mike holding her close and then they head back to the ship where tomorrow they will finish the last leg of the tour.
Dolly kisses Mikey goodnight and they both fall asleep quickly tired from their busy day. Love You, xoxoxoxoxox

How are you today.Was a nice day earlier for us but did get some rain and a loud thunder storm later.Glad we got to go out when mr.sun was out.Missy went out for a few minutes and lay in the sun,she got tired so mom brought her back in to nap,she is getting weaker but still eats ok,just sleeps lots.I got to explore in all my usual places,cheked out all the tall grass,nothing there,saw more of those ole worms all over,and the groundhogs hid in thier hole.There is a tree that I scratch my claws on every day as we go by,well I stopped real still and sat down looking up in the tree,I would not move,mom said Spongie what are you doing come on,then she looked and the tree was full of baby birds just learning to fly,they were way up in top flying all over the tree.mom bird was chatering really loud at us,she was mad mom said,me,mom watched the little things ,they were so cute,mom could not tell what kind they were,I said hi little birdies come closer so I can see you,but they did not,hehe!I was sitting on one side, Oreo watching them on the other,Oreo was looking up, did not see me and came around the tree right into me,well we sure had a wacking contest,guess I wacked to hard and he ran,mom said stop it right now both of you,you scared the baby birds,and mom bird might fly down and peck you all over,well mom Oreo was looing in my tree!Mom said come on Spongie,I need to go sit down,nope not comming,she pulled,tugged on my lead and I lay flat down,I was not leaving MY birdie tree,well mom had to pick me up and carry me away from that tree,can't have any fun here,she called me a little stubborn stinker!she put me down and I ate some grass,then we sat down for a little while,I pouted at mom for a few minutes and would not look at her,she took me from my birdie tree,then I chased a butTerfly it got away,then I sneaked up and lay beside mom,she gave me a hug,and I gave her a big ole headbutt and we just sat there for awhile looking all around,mom said lets go Spongie the worms are invading our sitting place so we went in,ole worms,mom sure checked her socks,hair,clothes and me to make sure there were no worms on us.I checkd out all through the house all ok,then I lay down and pushed he condo across the floor,got mr.innertube and went to rest with mom,gave her a kitty kiss right on her nose,she said you better not bite me little man,hehe.Then it got real dark and started pourng rain and then it stormed,the thunder was really loud,I got close to mom as I could,Wicket on the other side,Baby came racing in the room and got on moms tummy,Cindell,Missy just kept napping,ole scary thunder!Now I'm on napping on the cat tree,well with one eye open staring at mom,Baby,Missy,Wicket napping,Cindell looking out the window,uh oh,its geting really stormy looking again,guess we better wake up and go hide,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Thank you for your congratulations to me and my lovely bride-to-be, Talley! We hope and pray we will be as happy as you and Lady Dolly are! Lady Dolly gave Talley the most beautiful gold frame last night, with her name and its meaning etched in gold. I didn't know Talley's name meant, "Abundance, Lady, Princess," but I'm not surprised! I guess that is stuff I should know if I want to be a loving husband like you! You two are the best!

Top Reasons To Keep Cats Indoors – Part 1 (from cats.about.com)

Many cat lovers are now savvy that indoor cats are safer cats, while others still think that cats deserve freedom to run in the great outdoors. When humans domesticated cats, we took on the responsibility for their health & welfare. Part of that responsibility is to keep cats safe & in good health. For those holdouts for letting cats roam free, consider these top reasons to keep cats indoors.

• To Monitor Your Cat’s Urinary Tract/Bowel Health. With an outdoor cat, pet owners are unable to monitor painful attempts to urinate or poop. The first, a red flag warning for UTI or urinary tract blockage; the second, a red flag for constipation, bowel blockage or mega-colon.

• Indoor Cats Are Safe From Predators & Dog Packs. Outdoor cats are below predators in the food chain, & they are sitting ducks for owls, raptors, coyotes, & native big cats. Dogs running in packs will consider a cat fair game; even one large dog can easily overpower & kill a cat. Remember that some dogs are also bred to attack; they are not really to blame when their instinct takes over. Even with a full set of fangs & claws, the cat rarely has a chance when caught outside.

• Indoor Cats Don't Create Neighbor Problems. Even "well-bred" cats will venture into neighbors' yards when allowed to roam free. People who don't like cats will not tolerate cats using their gardens as litter boxes, & will sometimes resort to extreme measures to keep the cats out.

• Indoor Cats Rarely Get Abscesses From Fighting. Cats are very territorial & will defend their territory to the death, if challenged by another cat. At the very least, these territorial battles often result in abscessed wounds, which can be deadly if not treated in time. There's also the chance, of course, of cats contracting FIV from deep bite wounds.

• Indoor Cats Are Safe From Human Abuse. Freely-roaming cats are easy targets for gangs of youths with time on their hands, for cat-haters, who seek cats out for target practice, & for neighbors who would think nothing of killing a cat for trespassing on their property. Although animal protection laws are beefing up, prosecution will never bring a loved cat back to life.

• Indoor Cats Can Get Plenty of Exercise. Cats do get exercise, but they can get it safely with interactive toys, climbing towers, scratching posts, & other indoor toys; all much safer than running from dogs or fighting with other cats. Remember also that there are safe compromises for the outdoor experience.

The temperature was high 66 & low was 53 this morning, now it's 66 with humidity 50% & wind is 8 MPH N. Monday's suppose to be Sunny & High 74.

♥ Honoring our fur mama, BABY KNIGHT'S 13286 Three Year Forever Sleep on Monday, May 20th!!!!
Baby was mama to most of us Knight Kitties. You can see the list of ALL Baby's Children on her page 13286 in her BIO section.

♥ Well, the Yard Sale is over til after the first of June, but not the work for mom and dad as they will still be going thru the storage shed next with throwing things away and saving things for the next sale!!!! The last two days of the sale never even made $40 for both days!!!!

♥ Mom and dad has been doing a bunch of weeding in the front yard in between customers during the sale and rain. Today, mom went in the back yard and scooped out the big 3X5 (used to be 5X5) sand`litter box then she got her new weedeater assembled, as she had to take the other one back to Wal*Mart then went to Lowes and got one there instead. She got the front yard weedeated then she mowed the front yard.

♥ Mom did open dad's bedroom window this morning so we could be out in the cattery. It was nice getting the fresh air.

Oahu ...
Lovely Hawaiian ladies place leis on our necks as we disembark in Honolulu. These are a special gift of aloha - welcome, and love. The ladies receive those made of white ginger or jasmine … our choice. I love jasmine; my choice is simple. Oh, the beautiful fragrance. No wonder everyone wants one of these when in Hawaii. For the men, there are leis of kukui nuts. With our shirts and dresses from Hilo Hatties, we are ready to explore the final island of our Hawaiian adventure.

Here, Hawaii’s timeless beauty blends with the modern luxuries of today. We can swim in the warm waters of world-famous Waikiki one moment, then enjoy the dramatic mountain views of the Nuuanu Pali Lookout another; watch the surfers on the legendary North Shore by day, then dance the night away in vibrant nightlife spots around Honolulu; get a taste of local flavors in Kapahulu one night, then dine at a Five Diamond Hawaii Regional Cuisine restaurant the next.

Our first visit is to 350 acre Diamond Head crater, one of the best-known volcanic craters in the world, whose vantage point offers some incredible panoramas of Honolulu. We choose to start early to avoid the heat of the sun. Diamond Head State Monument encompasses over 475 acres, including the interior and outer slopes of the crater. This broad, saucer-shaped crater was formed about 300,000 years ago during a single, explosive eruption that sent ash and fine particles in the air. As these materials settled, they cemented together into a rock called tuff. The panoramic views of Waikiki and Oahu's south shore from the top are impressive. We will have many gorgeous photos for our memory books. We learn the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater's slopes. These "diamonds" were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value. The volcanic crater, a major Oahu landmark, has been extinct for 150,000 years.

Next we travel to Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the US. It was the official residence of King Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani, the last king and queen to rule Hawaii; the monarchy was abolished in 1893. We take the guided tour, which leaves us thinking our own Castle on CC is just as impressive and much more inviting to fun-loving kitties.

Time for an island luau dinner and then to bed as tomorrow we head to Pearl Harbor. See pics of Diamond Head and the palace on my page.

Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. How are you today.Was a nice day for us,but raining now.Good thing mom got me out earlier.Did my usual exploring,nothing under the mousey bushes except those ugly worms crawling all over.I like to get next to the tall grass,then jump way over in it and start digging,grass,dirt goes all over,mom never sees anything there,guess I just like doing that,hehe!Groundhogs saw us comming and off they went in all directions,mom laughs at how fast they run,I just waved my paw at them as they streaked by us.We go by thier hole to my tall grass and Oreo still will not get close there,the mom groundhog must have chased him or something.I ate grass,gotta have my grass to make strong kitty muscles,hehe.Made all my rounds in the yard,then mom had to sit for awhile,I lay beside her,there is little white blooms on one of the bushes over where we sit and the blooms were falling all over us,they were all in my fur.Then mom said time to go in,when she gets up and gathers up her cushions and ole cane I know I have to go in,so in we came,I shook my fur and all those blossoms flew all over the floor,so here comes ole mr.broom out of the close and I got out of his way,I do not like that ole broom at all!Then I heard mom muttering,she had pulled off her shoe and there was one of those worms crawling on her sock,well she sure was moving to get it off and threw it back out in the yard,hehe,she sure had a funny look on her face,I heard her say ole worms.Made my rounds through the house all ok,ate my food,then went to my toy rug in front of the door and bathed myself to get all those ole blooms off me,mom came to make sure none of those worms had stuck to my fur,ole worms.Then I took mr.innertube and went to rest with mom for a litle while,I snuggle right by her shoulder and lay my head on her arm,she gave me a kiss,me Wicket ate our treats and then I napped.Now I'm laying on the cat tree watching the rain,Baby looking out the widnow,Wicket is hid in the kitty cube,its dark out and he thinks its going to thunder,Missy,Cindell napping.Psssttt Mike,I put little pin holes in the worm box so they could not get out,hope you can get to the mail box before mom does,I also put some grass,dirt in with the worms to keep them comfy,hehe,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Well, I finally popped the question to Talley! Meow!!! I asked her to marry me and she said YES! I keep thinking I am dreaming, but when I pinch myself I know it's real. Talley has made me the happiest cat in the world! We haven’t set a date, but when we do I will be sure to tell all my furiends. We are going to announce our engagement at the Hockey Playoff games tonight. Angel Maggie and Callie made a couple of special cakes to help with the celebration!

The outside kitties are doing fine. Mom spends more time with them than she does with us! Just kidding. But it does seem like that sometimes. After they are finished eating, Callie and I are always waiting to run into the garage to see what went on in there. Mom thinks we will be fine when we finally do meet face to face!

Mom was very pleased with Game 1. She is still sick over Game 2! The Hawks couldn't do anyhthing right! Very disturbing! Dreary day. Weather fore cast for the upcoming week looks like rain every day. How are you today.A gloomy dreary day here,rained this morning,then stopped but still gloomy out there,more rain on the way.Got to go out to explore,grass was wet but I went right on.Checked out mousey bushes,went in the tall grass,nothing there,not even a bug,ate grass,same some of those worms climbing up the fench post,ole worms.Did not see the groundhogs,they must have been behind the building playing,you can hear them in the grass out there. Walked more,then mom sat down to rest and let me explore a little more,she lets my lead out long enough for me to look around.Then I watchd Spotty,Oreo,and outside kittys wander around,they sure do not come close to me,wonder why,hehe!Then the wind started blowing the rain drops out of the trees and was hitting me on the head,mom said time to go,I puled her in this time,did not want my fur all wet,those rain drops hurt my little head,hehe!Came in washed off my paws,made rounds through the house,toys,all ok,ate my food,then went sat on my toy rug to look out the door,carried mr.innertube for a few minutes.Mom said Spongie wnat to go down in yor apartment,nope to dark down there and the ole basement,furnace monster is there,so I went to rest with mom,ate my treats on the bed and snuggled up to mom to nap a little while,Wicket was on the other end eating his treats.Its gotten really dark out,looks like we might get a storm,sure hope not,ole thunder scares us all,so now I'm napping on the cat tree.Wicket is napping beside mom,Baby on the other side napping,Missy on her pad,Cindell on the counter so everyone is napping now.Mike I put you some worms in a box,made sure there are lots of air holes and shiped them to you,they should be there soon,I also put you a bottle of my bug mouth was in also just in case you might want to sample a worm,hehe,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

Really?! Mike the Headless Chicken Day! Aw, poor chicken! How did he eat for 18 months? I think I am going to have nightmares now! MOL!

This morning my Mom was with the outside kitties for over an hour. I was getting pretty tired of waiting! Mom sat on the floor again, to get to eye level with the outside cats, and Whitey really liked this. Whitey kept rubbing her face all over Mom & purring. Mom’s clothes were covered in fur! Callie and I were quick to check it out, sniffing to see whom she had been with. MOL!
Orangie was reluctant at first, but then would sneak behind Mom, sniff her and then go running away. Mom didn’t move and Orangie kept coming back like it was a game. Sniff and Run! Afterwards the kitties ate, not really noticing any scents from Callie and me. (I really think I need to spray that cat carrier. MOL!) Mom says this was a good morning. :)

have you heard of...
cow chip bingo? they take piles of dried up cow plop and use it for bingo chips and the winner gets to milk a cow as a prize. then there's chicken poop bingo as people buy numbers to see what number gets pooped on by a chicken in a cage and the winner gets a fried chicken dinner with the fixings! janet's on meds which she hopes doesn't make her feeling like yesterday when she was walking on air and so dopey she's not had that in years! but it's better than having some meds which make your stomach burn! she's got no more sick time for the year having used it up already back in late jan for that lower left rib strain for 31/2 days and that was it! has worked 3 months before with this stuff and eventually did go away by itself. sandy,ana,haley,angels

This is an island that stays true to its Hawaiian traditions - tucked away from the hustle of the outside world; where no building is taller than a coconut tree; there’s no traffic & no traffic lights; where you can feel the power of Hawaiian culture from an area near Maunaloa, said to be the birthplace of hula, to the natural wonders of Halawa Valley.

Molokai is only 38 miles long and 10 miles across at its widest point. It is a friendly & family-oriented island that has deep connections with its Hawaiian ancestors. Unlike the visitor industry on the larger Hawaiian Islands, Molokai has preserved its true Hawaiian culture. More than one third of this island's residents have over 50% Hawaiian blood. Molokai residents farm, fish, hunt & gather many of their basic needs & they enjoy this lifestyle. Here we need to slow down, be less demanding, & respect the Molokai way of life. Molokai is the real deal. We are visiting the true Hawaii. We will enjoy & respect Molokai & her people.

Lining the northeast coast are the towering cliffs of the North Shore Pali. At 3,600 to 3,900 feet from sea base to top, they are the tallest sea cliffs in the world; their near-vertical plunge ends 2000 feet below sea level. We step cautiously to the edge to peek over. Whoa, that’s a drop! Later in the day, we do some ocean kayaking along the face of the cliffs; this is amazing beyond belief! We also discover secret, secluded beaches, sea birds, & cascading waterfalls which provide incredible, photogenic scenery

We then hike into the East End’s classic cathedral valley to see Hawaii back in time. It is believed ancient Polynesians settled in lush Halawa Valley as early as 650 AD. This area, half a mile wide and three to four miles deep, and blessed with beautiful vistas and towering waterfalls, is one of the island's most historic areas. Roughly two miles up the trail is the impressive, double-tiered 250-foot Moa’ula Falls. If you’re considering taking a dip into the pool, drop a ti leaf into the water first. Hawaiian legend says that a giant moo (lizard) lives at the bottom of the pool. If the ti leaf sinks, the moo is in no mood for visitors. If the ti leaf floats, it’s safe to enter. Our ti leaves are forming a veritable flotilla, and we slip gratefully into the refreshing pool. Soon we are splashing and playing like … well, kitties.

We have been invited to a luau by the residents of a small village near Maunaloa, birthplace of the hulu. After dining on succulent roast pig, and all the tasty side dishes, we are given grass skirts to put on for a hula lesson. Soon we are dancing and telling the stories of the island, looking almost like natives.

Tomorrow we will head for the island of Oahu, where our Hawaiian adventure will eventually finish.

How are you all.Been a cooler day for us,mr.sun was in,out,rain on the way for tonight.Got to go out to explore,checked out all my usual places,nothing much going on out but those worms crawling all over,when I see one of those worms crawling toward me,I run the other way!Went under all mousey bushes,in the tall grass,I just love doing that,never know what might be hiding in there I can pounce on,ate grass,then we saw the groundhogs out,they saw us and off they went,they sure are growing fast.Saw lots of birds,almost wacked another bee,but mom stopped me,ole bee was buzzing all around my head.Then we went to sit fo a few minutes so mom could rest,she is having lots of pain today,but her tummy is feeling a little better for her,yaaa,she said, so I just sat and looked all around while mom rested,played stick with mom,she gets a small tree branch with leaves on it and drags it back,forth on the ground,I love chasing it,thats fun,got tired of that and lay down and watched a robin getting worms out of the grass,I said hi birdie are you going to sing me a song,ole birdie flew off,hehe!Then mom got up,I know when she stands up its time to go in,I went right in today.Made my rounds through the house,all ok,made sure my toys,mr.innertube were laying on my paper bag,Wicket got on the bag last night and moved all my toys,he got a wack for that!Went to rest with mom after eating my treats on the bed,I heard mom muttering last night about all the treats she lay down on in the bed,then she got up and stepped on some in the floor and crunched them all over,hehe,well gotta have those treats.Now I'm laying on my toy rug lookng out the door,Baby,Wicket looking out the window,Missy,Cindell napping,so pretty quiet right now.Hey Mike,I'm still trying to catch you a bug,fly to send to you,hey about one of those ole ugly worms that are here,want one of those,pawhugs,Spongie,Gang,Angels.

not a headless chicken named Mike. Gross. What will Mallow think of next? I'll go along with it for your sake, but we'll have to enter the eating contest cuz I know you can win That. tee hee. The live music and food sounds pawsome. However, I Won't be buying a Mike the Headless Chicken t-shirt.

Mike and Dolly are enjoying the RV ride to Fruita, CO and the beautiful scenary on the way. They pull in to a latte stand and order a carmel/huckleberry frappacinno and a blueberry muffin and continue on the road catching up once again with Mallow's RV with O.J. driving.

Mikey is excited about going there, but Dolly is just humoring him
and has no idea of the consequences of what the day may hold with Mallow and O.J. there??????????

A Word With Whiskers – May 17

I’ll never be sure if it was wisdom or folly that struck that day, but I would think a little of both. We had been happily living with one cat for a couple of years, a fairly large black-&-white English Shorthair named Smedley. It was time for his annual exam & shots, so off we went to our local veterinarian’s office, puss in hand, or actually wrapped like up like an Egyptian mummy to save us from his dreaded claws.

“Ah!” Doc Pete said, with a twinkle in his eyes. “I’m glad you dropped in. I have a kitten out back that needs a home & I thought of you!”

Before I could stop him, his assistant brought out the tiniest marmalade tabby, weighing just over a pound, with a cast on his left front leg. He put him in my arms, looked up at me & said, “So what do you think?”

They say a sucker is born every minute & that was my minute. We took one look at the poor little thing & then at each other & we were done for. We found out that someone had broken his leg & tried to drown him in the nearest canal. A Good Samaritan had rescued him & brought him to the vet’s office.

“How will they get along?” I asked. “How do we go about introducing them to each other?”
“Oh, that’s no problem,” he said. “You just put him in a carrier, take him home, leave the carrier open & let Smedley think he is rescuing the kitten.”

Well, it sounded good. As per instruction, once we got home, we left the kitten in the carrier in the middle of the room. Then we sat back to watch. Smedley circled the box & growled deeper than I had ever heard him before. The kitten mewed plaintively while sticking a paw out of the holes in the side of the carrier. After about an hour, we decided to open the top of the carrier a little wider. Smedley walked up to the top, looked inside & was rewarded by a lightning strike from a small orange paw.

That was the last we saw of him that evening. I was convinced that the next morning would find us back at the vet’s office returning the little tyke. However, the next morning, we were in for a surprise. As I got up to put on the coffee, I saw the two of them curled up together on the sofa as if they were one cat with two smiling faces. From then on, Smedley watched over the little one as if he had given birth to him, and they went everywhere together.

Doc Pete was right!

My Dearest Mikey
Please thank your mom and give her a hug for me for fixing our profile picture on my page. My mom finds out tomorrow on BabyBoo's blood work. Today she got a bath and looks pretty for probably a day.
Listen, Mikey, you can call me your bride furever if you want to. I don't think that there is any set time when one stops, but I haven't looked it up. Regardless, I love to hear it, sweetie.

I thought we were to have a game Sunday night, but I'm glad they delayed it for Mallow's sake. She did an awesome job editing the 5 games although I had to leave early so I could get the voting in and for BabyBoo to use the puter. Thanks for the nice words about her 4 year DC anniversary.

I'm a bit ticked that our moms are meeting up with other CC moms and not even taking us!!! Not fair. We should be able to meetup, too. Right? And, BabyBoo gets to go as she always goes with mom and that's not fair either. Sniff.

The fishing trip was lots of fun today and I'm thrilled that we got all the tuna that we did. My dad said that he would smoke it for us and mom will can it. Ohhhhh, that's my favorite even more so than smoked salmon. Wait until you taste it. ummmmmmm
That was to bad that the shark bit on Steve's lure and the line pulled him right in the water. It was pretty scary seeing him gasping for breath and fearful of being eaten, but the Coast Guard got there in just the nick of time before he went down the third time. Whew.

Well, ok, I'll bite. So, we will be taking OUR RV someplace after hockey tomorrow night, huh? Just because I won it, doesn't mean it makes it all mine. We share everything (even the Hello Kitty stuff that you love). heheheheh. And no I don't know what you mean when you said that we can use shrimp, cheese balls and liver cakes but we don't have to use (you know). I don't know, so you'll have to fill me in.
Mikey and Dolly are showered dressed and on their way to the fish fry on the beach walking paw in paw to join their furrends. Swoon.

This sweet kitty joined the angels in February 2013 after losing his battle with complications that developed after being hit by a car the month before. He’d survived having both legs broken & surgery, but was unable to walk & had to drag himself to the litterbox. He was very brave & stayed a very sweet boy during all of the pain, infections, examinations & becoming a foster; but the angels knew that his life would not be a full one with his disabilities & thus called him home. Please pounce by to paw ANGEL CRASH #248838 a vote today so that his foster mom will have a fond memory to cherish & so that this sweet angel can earn the honor of making his star the most brilliant in the night sky tomorrow night.

Congratulations to our newest royal cat QUEEN SPUNKY #161265!! Your campaign about the details of cat shows was stupendous & we learned a lot about how things work for the fabulous show cats. We’re looking forward to some California sunshine during May as you reign from your house on the beach & look forward to hearing more letters to God from beloved pets.
