A sweet treat ...
Today we visit the Dole Plantation. Originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950, Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s "Pineapple Experience" in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions and welcomes more than one million visitors a year.
Are you ready? We are going to take a whistle stop tour through Hawaii’s Pineapple story on the Pineapple Express! On this fully narrated, twenty-minute train tour we’ll learn the story of pineapple in Hawaii. All aboard! After a brief scramble to get a seat next to their best buddies, all kitties are seated and it’s time to go. Our custom-constructed, vintage-style engine whisks us across more than a century of the island’s agricultural history, from the days when pineapple ruled the plantation to today’s rich diversity of farming enterprises, from mangoes to coffee to cacao beans. The ride is two miles long, twenty minutes in length. Along the way, we learn about the history of the world’s most beloved tropical fruit. Our journey takes us through a working plantation of pineapple and other crops, often featuring fields in all stages of growth, from planting to harvest. We also experience some of the scenic panoramas of Oahu’s renowned North Shore from a perspective few Hawai‘i visitors ever get to experience. When we depart the train, we can still smell the sweetness of pineapples ready to be picked.
And now for THE MAZE! In 2008, Dole Plantation’s giant Pineapple Garden Maze was declared the world’s largest maze. The maze stretches over three acres and includes nearly two and one-half miles of paths crafted from 14,000 colorful Hawaiian plants. We walk through the flora of the islands as we seek out eight secret stations that each lead us closer to the mystery at the heart of this larger-than-life labyrinth, one of only a handful of permanent botanical mazes in America. The fastest finishers win a prize and enter into the history of Dole Plantation, with their names recorded on a sign at the maze’s entrance. Several of our guests have raced ahead to find spots where they can “surprise” their furriends and hopefully scare them. After yesterday’s jump from a plane, frightening anyone is not going to prove easy, is it? Once we have confirmed everyone finally is out of the maze and accounted for, we head over for a treat.
No stop to Dole Plantation would be complete without enjoying a world-famous Dole Whip! This refreshing pineapple treat is guaranteed to quench our thirst and cool us down after a sun-filled day. This is the same wonderful treat we enjoyed when we visited Disneyland’s delightful Tiki Room.
Our visit to the Hawaiian Islands is growing to a close. A magnificent meal has been prepared by the chef to commemorate our time in this magical place. The temperature was high 61 & low was 46 this morning, now it's 60 with humidity 55% & wind is 9 MPH W. Saturday's suppose to be Rain & Sun & High 65.

♥ We had a break in the weather with no rain for today so about noon mom and dad loaded the truck with several automotive batteries to Interstate Batteries for recycle and some electronics to a different recycle place. Mom also started going through her jewelry armoir to thin out her jewelry collection since she hardly wears most of it and will put it in the yaed sale stuff!!!!
♥ Mom did open dad's bedroom window this afternoon, so we could go out in the cattery for a little while.

Nice to see you today. We were chilly again, but mom let us go outside anyway as tghe sun was shining. I stayed in with mom cause we had to go to the Vet for my paw which is fine now and no surgery required for claw removal...YAY!!!

Hi My Bestie, Queen Spunky♥
I'm sorry I didn't get to visit you, yesterday, but Mom has been doing everything to get ready for her brother to get here. They will be here, tomorrow. Well, I think we should be the first on the list of things to do, but our blogger thinks otherwise. Since I can't type, I guess I just have to go along with what she says...MOL! Anyway, Going to LegoLand was a real blast! Mom says they are fun to play with, but to think they built a whole theme park with them is really something! We had lots of fun on all the rides. The water park and the museum were fun and interesting, too! Thanks for taking us there.
I have some feel better hugs for your sweet Mom and some stay well hugs for your sisters. I have a special super duper hug for you, too, my bestie! I love my hugs from you and Mom thanks you for all the hugs you send to her and my family.

How is your dear momma doing. Keeping her in our prayers. My mom is busy weeding all the gardens while it isn't raining but took a break for a few minutes. Last night she placed an order at
Amazon.com for an iron, coffeepot, toaster, rotisserie, toaster oven so she doesn't have to plow through lots of stores to see which ones she wants. That helped. She still hasn't found a dresser though.

A Word With Whiskers – May 24
What I’ve Learned From My Cats- by Sue Resnick

We, as Human-Americans, think that we are so much smarter than our pets. But think about it — who gets a belly rub just by purring; or, tells us when it’s time to eat without ever wearing a watch? That’s right: “Feline-Americans” teach us…that they are superior.
1) Feline-Americans (okay, cats) keep us in the moment. Cats make us realize how ridiculous it is to carry a grudge. They may fight with their “fur peer” one minute over kibble, & forget all about the brawl 5 minutes later. They live in the present. No, they’re not stupid, nor amnesiacs. They just know that carrying a grudge isn’t worth it in life. They have 9 lives and still won’t waste any of them staying mad.
2) Cats teach us patience. If you have the chance, watch a cat scope out a mouse. The kitty won’t run & run after the mouse. Instead, he’ll wait & steady itself for a pounce. That teaches us not to waste energy on something that can’t happen. Just wait for the right moment, & you’ll get what you deserve.
3) Always look attractive. Did you ever notice how big your cat’s eyes get when you open the cabinets where you keep her treats? Or, how she adorably cocks her head when she wants you to pet her? Cats are like supermodels: they can get everything they want by looking beautiful. Next time you need your office buddy to finish a report for you, look pitiful, dewy-eyed & speak softly. They’ll say yes, just because you look adorable.
4) Felines also teach us the value of sleep. We humans don’t sleep enough. You never see a cat wondering if it’s bedtime; they just go to sleep—with no worries. You get into bed, toss & turn, while Kitty snurrs (snoring & purring at the same time). Learn from your cat: your problems won’t go away while you’re dreaming, but you can be anyone you want with your eyes closed (yes, your buddy dreams he rules the Kingdom of Cats, with you as a royal servant).
5) Cats teach us the meaning of unconditional love. Kitties don’t care if you’re a CEO or a dishwasher; they value your heart, not your wallet. Felines won’t judge you if you don’t go to the gym; they’d rather have you home, eating while they have a snack too. If you have a bad day at work, your cat still loves you. Cats don’t think any less of you; they will love you as you are. After all, they think so highly of themselves—they couldn’t think less of you.
6) Lastly, cats have taught us that being a cat is wonderful—if they have a wonderful human to love them. But, I would never tell my beloved cats that fact, because THEY are my boss ….Uh, wait, they are meowing for a treat in the kitchen…gotta go…!

To tell you the truth, there really hasn’t been much happening with the Girl Power Crew lately! Ok, there is this from a few days back when mom used that weedeater and scared most all the outside kitties into hiding then on Monday she mowed the back yard so most all of them went into hiding again!
Oh!, and there’s this thing I told you about my mama Kittzi 160203 was using the potty box lid for her bed…… well, mom figured it out that Kittzi was telling her she needed that MiraLax again cuz she was having problems with it being hard coming out of her! Guess mom’s getting to know some kitty signs and talk! MOL!
For those of you who had voted for me in the GIRL KITTY CONTEST sponsored by SassySu, I want to say Thank You, but mom pulled me from the contest for purrrsonal reasons. She said maybe another time!
On Thursday morning when mom came in our room to scoop out our potty boxes then came to say Good Morning to me and Kittzi, well, Kittzi decided to bite mom's left index finger and it started bleeding. All mom was doing was petting her, but guess she didn't want petted. Mom's ok though and she never even raised her voice nor got mad at her! She just told Kittzi it's ok!
Ok, ok! So I told a little kitty fib of saying “not much has been happening”! So kiss me for that! MOL! Oh, and, Mom also just changed my profile picture to one taken on May Day!
For the next several months we may not be on too often as mom and dad will be xtra busy. We will try to get on when we can!

Thank you for stopping with your kind words for mom, she lost Her dad when he was 64 it was very sudden. We Loved the trip to Sea World it was like being at a buffet, except I am sure they would gotten upset if we tried to eat their displays!! Dear Whiskers,
Thank you for the information on keeping kitty svelte. We do most of those things, but my pawrents keep a bowl of dry food down for me at all times. I have great self control and never over-do it. I am a healthy 13 pounds as I am a large cat. But your points are all good. I told you that was a funny cartoon. And I'm doing my 50 push-ups! Really enjoyed the information. A Powerful Rumble Fills The Air
Is it an Earthquake? A Volcano, Is it Thunder? No it’s none of those things. It’s the powerful rumbling sound of ten beautifully painted Harley motorcycles, cruising down the street they’re all heading for Queen Spunky’s Hawaiian Hideaway and pulling in to share COTM votes with their friend.
The helmets come off to reveal Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Mallow, Q. Lola, Ammie, Dasher, Talley, Thundie, Kali and Elvis, all of the Hairballz Rainbow Riders.
On the back of the bikes are flags representing their two lost honorary members, Doodlebug and Yum Yum
they all dismount and in turn, they present Queen Spunky with her daily treats, flowers and a big box of catnip popcorn. They all punch Queen Spunky’s vote button and wish her a good Day Twenty-Three of her reign They exchange hugs & purrs with Queen Spunky and get back on their bikes to head out to their next destination for the day.

EUGENE, OREGON WEATHER REPORT:
The temperature was high 57 & low was 45 this morning, now it's 51 with humidity 83% & wind is 8 MPH SW. Friday's suppose to be Showers & High 59.

♥ I am still sleeping with mom at night down by her feet. I am also feeling good since last night, too!!!!
♥ Mom had plans of getting some things done this morning, but I insisted mom time so she sat on the couch to hold me for awhile which then she ended up dozing off. When she awakened, she had a headache and nothing got done like she wanted. After she took headache pills, she started feeling lots better!!!!
