About Me

Active within 893 Days

Hi! My name is Tina

I am Domestic Shorthair from Ellwood City,, PA

Nicknames: Tina Bell, Queen La Tina, Tina Gateway,

Age: 18 years old

Gender: F

Coat: short haired

Education: Tina was named after the 2001 CBS survivor winner when she drug herself to our doorstep a very wounded stray. Thanks to God and Dr. Brown she has more than survived she has thrived to become the boss of our household.

My favorite tricks and treats are: She sits pretty, gives kisses, comes when she is called and goes where ever you click your fingers. and Slightly cooked tender meat

Where I hang out: Where ever the sun is shining or the warmest place she can find.

My favorite grubs: Friskies Salmon dinner.

My pet peeves: She only has two teeth and we feed her soft food which can not be left out. Tina gets very annoyed if we don't jump up and get food in her dish several times a day. She deserves to be spoiled.

What I love about my owners: She try's not to spoil me because of my many handicaps, however she still does. And yet I can count on her unconditional love for me. She knows that I have a domineering personality just like her. So we rule together and take turns being the boss.

My cat hobbies: Following me around and watching every thing that I do. She only has one eye and it is always on me.

Pet motto: I am happy and thankful to be alive.

How We Met

She drug herself to our doorstep in March 2001 a very wounded, stray cat. We don't know what happened to her but we are thankfully blessed that we took her into our lives. She mended with each passing day and had a litter of kittens in May of 2001. We kept Magellan. Those weeks of kitten hook gave us a lot of laughter and hope. Tina was a great mom. She was spayed as soon as possible and Magellan was neutered of course. No more kittens. Tina's day of death was as eventful as her wonderful life. August 12th 2012. She was approximately 3 years old when she choose us and we spent 11 years and 5 months together. She was wonderfully amazing and very much missed.

407 Question
Question is how do we keep the Raccoon out of the self-feeders that we must leave out for our cat colony when we can not be there daily in the winter months?
Mom has several good people helping her with the Camp Cats that do not have an indoor home. But all of these cats love their outdoor homes and would be very hard to place inside even in the winter. But several amazing blessing came to camp yesterday and made for a very interesting day of cat care. Beverly bought Vinnie a heated winter house and she bought raccoon proof storage buckets for the three feeding stations. Now all we need to figure out is how to keep the Raccoons out of the self feeders that we leave for the cats when the people can only come in once a week.

Come visit me, Vicki, Tina, Izy & Magellan.

406 Thanksgiving
Bringing some turkey leftovers to all. Mom sits down after dinner with the very carefully prepared turkey to clean it and sort it out for left-overs and kitty portions. She is so careful not to leave any bones in there as cooked bones can splinter and harm a cat. (Raw bones are not so bad for the digestive track as cook bones) Mom is also careful to tear the meat into small pieces and not to give them too much of the skin.. Last thing we want to do is upset the digestive track of the poor outside kitties that we are hoping to help by giving them food they are not use to. Mom has a quart of turkey scraps and she will ration this out in small portions to five cats for a few days.
(No bones, onions, garlic, chocolate, raisins as these are not good for animals.)
I will hope that the kitties come to eat their special dinner before it freezes up and if it freezes up I will save it until we get a day above 32 for a longer period of time.

I missed my Tina and Magellan as this was the first Thanksgiving I actually spent here cooking a turkey. I would have loved to be with my furbaby's in all the years past but I loved even more getting to be with my human mom who is getting up in years and cooks the most amazing thanksgiving dinner I have ever seen. We were snowed in and could not get to her amazing dinner so I cooked my little but delicious dinner here and had 3 other snow in friends and two doggies for our very pleasant, calm and full of good conversation evening No driving - No rushing around - no over eating - no endless dishes to wash - no heat ache - no coming home to an empty cold house. Trying to move on.

Come visit me, Vicki, Tina, Izy & Magellan.

403 14 degrees and snow
Angel Tina did not like cold weather at all but it always felt good to see her snuggled up with her son Magellan all cozy and warm inside with us. So I brought our little stray cat Kelly down to spend the night and get out of the cold and it was very comforting. Although our little houseguest hide under the bed while we had company she came out and sleep most of the night between us two humans all snuggly and warm. It was the first day I did not cry for missing my Magellan. And when I took her back to her caregiver home she was anxious to go inside but I stayed outside and snuggle my buddy Meano and he just melted in my arms. That was comforting too. Our Goldie boy is babying his front paw but when I did get to hold him a short while I couldn't see or feel anything wrong and it seemed ok for several days but today he is holding it up again and won't come to me to get a closer look. I could not get my golf cart up the snowy hill to take Vinnie his feed so I had to contact another caregiver who is up on the hill and I just hope she went out and feed and watered him. Minnie was furnished a 2 qt. feeder full of dry food yesterday so I believe she is ok even though her water froze she is by a creek and a pond. We apparently have a new cat in camp but I have not seen him yet. As of right now I have a warm camper that any one of these outside kitty's are welcome to come in if they want. Kelly seems to be the only one who wants inside. She is so much like my Tina and she is helping me mend from my loss.

Hello Tina
How was your weekend? Ours was pawsome, except it turned cold. Really cold, with highs in the low 40s and lows in the 20s. Brrrr! Today it is dark ☁ and raining ☂ The weatherman said we might have sleet and/or snow flurries ❄ tomorrow & the forecast is for 18 degrees Wednesday night here in southwest Mississippi. I am very thankful for my warm, safe home. Keeping all of the outdoor & stray kitties in our prayers.

Stay warm.

401 Glory to the One True God
"Dear Almighty God, the one true God who has told us not to put any other Gods before you. I ask that you be with each dog and cat and the Animal Friends shelter and bring in those special homes that will adopt these kitties and puppies to give them that special forever home. Bless all of animal friends staff and volunteers. Their mobile unit has helped our feral and stray kitties here in Butler County for years. And I ask you to bless Animal Friends. And with your blessing Heavenly Father, I ask that your will for me will be to take our little stray kitty, Kelly out of the cold winter weather in Jan and Feb and that she will appreciate the love of a real home and decide to stay with us forever. I miss my Magellan so very much and I thank you for the years that I had with him and his mommy, Tina. Thank you for crowning so many of us with compassion to go the extra mile for these kitties. Please dear God bring back the glory to yourself from this St. in the red suit and send those in need to Animal Friends to adopt these very social and ready cats and send in the donations to help the cause and give us all the strength we need to keep on helping all of these cats in need. Be with my outdoor colony and I trust you will bless me with my inside kitty soon and that Kelly will come to love us. Amen"

Hello Tina
What’s purring with you? Today we are celebrating our PawPaw’s 75th birthday. Wowza, that’s a lot of candles! His big pawty is actually tomorrow night at the Country Club. We will stay home as we don’t like crowds or strange people. And believe me, his golfing buds & poker buddies are strange! Tee hee! We got him a very cute card that says:

"GrandPawPaw, we wanted to get you the purrfect gift for your birthday, but how do you wrap a nap?"

Have a wonderful weekend.

P.S. We would keep all your kitties on the same account. That would be easier to keep up with, rather then 2 different accounts. Just our opinion.

Love the poem about cats and I understand how hard it is to keep an outdoor kitty inside. I was so bless that Magellan and Tina choose to always come home after a little outside exploration. And they did adjust to being inside during the cold months.
Yes our camp feral/strays are taken care of as best as possible. We have had as many as 10 spayed and neutered with rabies shots and clean bill of health. Some were TNR (Trap Neuter and Return) many were easily tamed down and taken to clinic for care in regular cat carriers. We prefer the cat carriers but not all cats are tame enough for that. Out of the 10 originals we have lost two by an ignorant camper. And three passed away. We now have 6 that we know of. Meano loves me and I would love to move him into my home but he is the protector of Goldie who is skiddish and not ready to be in a home yet and Kelly a little female who I plan to take inside this winter and see how she likes our home and us. I attempted to move her into my home in September while I still had Magellan. We had a wonderful day and she even got a real bath and she loved it. But in the night she got out and when I saw her and suddenly grabbed her she bite me. Well, I worried more about if she would get back to her outdoor home ok. It's half a mile from me. Or if she would decide to come back to my home. She choose to go back to her original home so I have been just bringing her down for short visits inside. She hides for about 15 minutes under the chair or the bed but then she does come out and use litter box and eat and she will sit on my lab as long as I let her and getting groomed is her favorite thing. So my plans are to take her with me when I leave and keep her inside for the coldest of winters and hopefully when we get back to camp she may choose to just stay with me. Vinnie is a wonderful young male who I took to be neutered last spring. He spend the winter at camp but he quickly tamed up for me as I had to treat him for a bad eye. Many people helped pay for his care and I brought him down and kept him in our motor home away from Magellan for two days while he recovered. Well, his charm got him a summer home with an older couple and a young female cat but when they left for Florida they left him here for us to all take care of. Well I suppose that I could bring him home but he is 1 mile away and he would probably go back as well and..... I don't see him everyday when I feed him and I do see Kelly everyday when I feed her she comes running. Then there is Minnie our newest rescue. She is beautiful but she was box trapped for her spay date and she got out when we tried to transfer her from box trap to a comfy cage to recover. I barely know her but I take food 1 mile from me each day and I've seen her several times. She actually found my home base without any food being outside for her she came right to the door. Of course I opened a good can of cat food and put it over the dry and she ate the whole bowl so I gave her more and

Hi Tina
Hope you enjoy this poem.

             When God Created Kitty Cats

When God created kitty cats,
He had no recipe;
He knew He wanted something sweet,
As sweet as sweet could be.

He started out with sugar,
Adding just a trace of spice;
Then stirred in drops of morning dew,
To keep them fresh and nice.

He thought cats should be soft to pet,
Thus He gave them coats of fur;
So they could show they were content,
He taught them how to purr.

He made for them long tails to wave,
While strutting down the walk;
Then trained them in meow-ology,
So they could do cat-talk.

He made them into acrobats,
And gave them grace and poise;
Their wide-eyed curiosity,
He took from little boys.

He put whiskers on their faces,
Gave them tiny ears for caps;
Then shaped their little bodies,
To snugly fit on laps.

He gave them eyes as big as saucers,
To look into man's soul;
Then set a tolerance for mankind,
As their purpose and their goal.

Benevolent ... and ... generous,
He made so many of them;
Then charged, with Fatherly Concern,
The human race to love them.

When one jumped up upon His lap,
God gently stroked its head;
The cat gave Him a kitty kiss,
"What wondrous love," God said.

God smiled at His accomplishment,
So pleased with His creation;
And said, with pride, as He sat back,
"At last. . .I've reached purr-fection!"

Purrs to you,

Even the excitement of going to The Villages, Florida for one week has not relieved my aching to have my Magellan on my lap instead of this laptop. I know that I would much rather be with my furbaby's then anything else but ..... I will take someone out of the Pa. winters when I get back. Stray's are a bit hard to get inside and they can not be let out for a long time or they will try to return to outside home. But if they come to you on their own four feet then you can bet they will stay if they are happy. Our Goldie has a sore foot or paw and although he let me touch it real quick he did not stay long enough for me to actually see if I could see anything or could help him. Prayers please as I like for all my kitties to be healthy and happy. Thank ful that urine test came back good and enjoy hearing the good news. Also good luck with the bird and hope she enjoys her house. I hope that she heals and you know it is her when she comes to eat and enjoy a home. Blessings to all. We did find out that we have been members since 2010. Now I am wondering if I should add a few new profiles to these four or should I start a new page all together?

Member since Jan. 12th of 2010. Almost 4 years now.
I am going to Florida so mom-in-law does not have to travel alone. All humans have to leave camp in Jan and Feb anyway and I will only be gone for one week. Last week of December kitties still have daily feeding and open doors into heated rooms if they so choice. Minnie has not yet become a kitty who is asking for anything but regular food. It is Kelly who is ready for an indoor warm 24 7 365 home but bringing her down to my camp has not been the easiest thing to do. She is out in the very cold weather today so I will go up in my golf cart in 27 degree weather and hope she comes to me so that I can pick her up and put her in the cat carrier to bring her down into a nice warm camper until her other half crazy care giver comes back to camp. Well I better get off cat channel and get a move on. Lets see how Kelly likes our home. It should be a no brainer but..... My home is clean with very clean and cozy blankets and the decor is absolutely with the comfort of a cat in mind. Open windows with ledges to look out and enjoy the morning sunshine. Very clean and bright. A cat tree - cat basket - cat carrier and cat stroller along with perfect food and water places and the litter box out of the way but easy for kitty to access. This has all been carefully thought out and it worked well in under 400 sq. foot of camper not house space. It is funny I consider myself a minimalist and I don't keep things I don't need. So there is no cludder but many things for kitty thanks to Tina and Magellan who warmed my home with their presence from 2001 to 2013 and now I am ready for Kelly to move in but I'm not ready to deal with a real crazy cat lady who thinks she is fine being left out in 27 degree weather for the winter. These are people who only go outside as they run from their house to a heated car. I know exactly how cold it gets outside as I go out every day and winters here in PA. are very cold. But it is true that not every cat is ready to come in and be a couch potato.

Sissy, Prayers that all is well with your urine sample. Sounds like you have a very good vet. Keep flashing those pearly whites and drink lots of pure good water. Keep up a happy healthy appearance so your mommy will not worry and she will stay happy too. I am a very sad mommy since my Magellan, Tina's son was put down due to Kidney and Liver failure Oct. It was sudden and a choice I made for his sake but Magellan's mommy is sadder than I have ever been. Everything I do brings tears to my eye. The box I brought home from the grocery store that he would have been playing in as if I brought him a new toy. The sardine shelf and the cat food isle. And of course coming home to no Magellan to greet me with head bongs and purrs and oh those big green wonderfully sincere eyes.
Pa had snow flurries today. Minnie was seen a mile away from my home base which was were we TNR here in October. She was at her feeding station and hopefully she will use her warm igloo. I am also keeping food out during the day for her here since she does know were I live. She is very skiddish but may tame after winter. I am still very sad. I'm being sent to Florida to accompany my mother in law and yet I would much rather just be sitting with Magellan on my lap. He was such a perfect friend.
Tigger you are such a good friend.

Hello Tina
How are you? I did really well having my teeth cleaned Thursday. After getting home late afternoon, I ate a little canned food, drank some water and went pee & poop. I sneezed once, coughed several times & my purr motor was bumpy. But that is to be expected after anesthesia. So Mommy TRIED not to worry too much. I have not sneezed anymore and my purr motoe is back to normal Yeah!

Mommy opened her big mouth & mentioned to Dr. William yesterday that my urine smelled pretty strong. So while I was under anesthesia, he did a Cystoscopy and got some urine straight from my bladder. He did a urinalysis & sedimentation . He said there were white blood cells present, so he has sent off some of my urine to the lab for a culture & sensitivity test. Hopefully it will not be anything seriously wrong. Keep your paws crossed please!

382 Waiting for Minnie
Well last night we said good-bye to some dear friends until spring when we will all be back walking our pets and enjoying camp together. My home had two wonderful doggies in it and when Minnie came to the door she took off when she saw the doggies. Well here I am tonight with food at the door hoping she will decide to come back for the third night. It is getting close to her time of 6 Pm. So I went out to feed the five stray kitties today and I brought Kelly down for about an hour to have some indoor grooming. A good brushing - flee combing (no flees) - ears cleaned good and eyes wiped out. She enjoyed that but when I put her down she hide under the chair. Well once she decided to come out I put her back in her carrier and took her back home. And then I took some special friends around to the feeding stations to meet the kitties that they will be helping me feed through the winter months when no one is here at camp. It was a good day. Not too cold 45 degrees but a little windy with some nice sunshine. A very brief snow flake event last night and in did go below freezing overnight. We still have some time to get all the kitties situated before the real cold stuff and Pa. does get some real cold stuff in Jan and Feb. Still looking out the door for Minnie.

Come visit me, Vicki, Tina, Izy & Magellan.

yes, its hard not to be sad when we lose a beloved family member, that is good you can move on slowly to help other kitties. sure do hope Minnie decides to stay in the place you made for her and lets you care for her. mom is trying to care for a little sparrow bird that only has one eye, and can't fly, it hops not sure how it happen but she puts out water bird seed everyday, she keeps an eye out for him either in front or the back window. she tried to catch it one day but he was fast kept getting away. only help from a distance. sorry been missing in action mom not around to do our blogging, very chilly windy night have a blessed day prayers to all who need hugs whisker kisses head bonks meatloaf catnip angel marley mom wonderful tigger sophie

Magellan has been gone two weeks tomorrow. On October 11th we TNR a pretty grey female, Minnie and upon bringing her home she got away right were we trapped her. This was after her spaying and wellness checkup. So we set up a cozy cage and left food and water daily. I saw her from a distance once and I've been asking around to see if anyone had seen her. She was 1 mile away from my home base at camp. Well tonight at around 6:30 pm. Vic saw her looking right in our sliding glass door. Well we weren't sure it was Minnie but since we have no reason not to have a cat here I put food and water out for her. She came back to the steps and ate and I was able to see that her ear was tipped and her belly hair had still not grown in. So yes it's Minnie and amazingly she found me and that is always the best way to pick your next best friend. Yes God does know our needs and he blesses our cat rescue. I have a cozy cage bed outside for her and she is very welcome to come and stay. It will be fun journaling this adventure that I really need. Magellan you were my dearest love and I was so sad but I can not stay sad there are so many kitties that need me.
Tina appeared at our sliding glass door just like Minnie did today.

Glad you got the calendar. Look at December 2014 and the little thumbnail is Grizzabella one of our camp cats that we could never get close enough to to actually help and yet she/he is so beautiful. However we think we rescued a litter of her kittens along with Izy cat and her kittens because some of the kittens looked just like Grizzabella. I have not picked up the mail yet this month so I guess I will have a walmart card in the mail. We will be buying automatic feeders and waters as well as a latch down can for storing the food so that the racoons won't get it. We have three feeding stations and several people who will be coming in to feed when I leave for Jan and Feb. I am healing a bit this week from my loose of Magellan but I have a terrible cold that is depressing me now. I'm getting those special kitty hugs from Meano and Kelly each day when I go to feed. Prayers to all.

Tigger you are a good friend. From us angel kitties point of view. It breaks our hearts to see the people who loved and cared for us be so heart broken over our departure. We extend our love down and know that time does heal but .... there are other kitties that need physical help and they will come. I had to be wounded and walk right up to the door to get my loving home and Magellan my boy was born there. Right now there are five kitties that you feed and care about and so many other kitties have been fostered and cared for so it seems like a no brainer to just go day by day and let whatever other kitties need you into your big heart. Kelly is a lot like me and she really does want to be an indoor kitty so share her with Isabella and make sure she stays warm and well feed. Meano has Magellan's big happy bright green eyes and he adores you so at some point he just might walk that 1/2 mile and be at your door just like Goldie did once but Magellan sent him back in a hurry. Vinnie already stayed in the motor home for two days but he never adjusted to inside living all summer with his new people so he just might be ok with all the pervisions you have left him. If the new Minnie would have stayed around I'm sure she would have had a home with you mom. So why are you so down and weary you know darn well that God has all of this under control and you have been given the crown of compassion so you can foster and keep an empty space for a little while until the camp cats need to move in with you like I did. This is a letter from Tina to her human mommy. PS. Ok so you did a good job taking care of Magellan after I died and you cleaned his ears and the top of his head and I know that the sticky vitamins are really hard to get off with a damp rag but easier with a kitty tongue which you unfortunately didn't have and Magellan was too weak to clean it off himself that last day. Ease up on yourself and remember God sent us to you and God called us home. There will be new guardian angels.

Come visit me, Vicki, Tina, Izy & Magellan.

so sorry you have done so much good and now have so much heartache. we pray that Kelly comes to like being inside, and that izy comes back or be seen that she is okay! maybe your mom can get a kitten that is out there to be rescued too, they say a home is not a home with out a cat. we know we bring a lot of love/laughs to our owners us cats are the best. oh, mom got her calendar she says thank you, there are some nice kitties in there, she will send more money to them when she gets paid! blogging on a sunny day have a blessed day prayers to all who need hugs whisker kisses head bonks salmon catnip angel marley mom wonderful tigger sophie

Magellan was Tina's son and they are together again but I have had the saddest week of my life. Magellan's death came too fast and I miss him so much. I have no pets in my home and that is going to have to change. I have five cats that I go out to feed and check on everyday. They are 1/2 mile and 1 mile away. There is one that really needs me as she is older and not fond of being outside anymore. I brought her into my home this September and she let me bath her and groom her and she seemed to make herself at home but she darted away and when I grabbed her by surprise because I was afraid she would get lost she bite me. Well I'm over it and ready to try again. It's getting too cold for her outside and she just may like being an indoor kitty now and hopefully she will stay. My home is too empty without a furbaby to care for. Kelly needs me now.

Magellan was my comforting friend when my dog Shelby died and when his Mommy Tina died we needed each other. This past year he was my only pet and so there is a huge empty space. It is good that I have to care for 5 strays that are within 205 acreas. Kelly is at her feeding station every day and I would love to bring her home again. I tried to keep her with us but she returned to her feeding station area which is 1/2 mile away with two other males strays, Meano and Goldie. Vinnie and Minnie are a mile away and Minnie has never even came to me as we TNR her but she couldn't wait to get away and she does not come although I have seen her and she appears to be fine just shy. Vinnie does make sure he visits with me sometimes and he did stay with us for the two days of his recovery when he was neutered. He has a summer home but he never did adjust to being inside and so he was not ready to travel to Florida for the winter and he was left here.

Yesterday was the saddest day of my life. We had to lovingly euthanize Magellan and although it was the right decision because he was suffering I am not at peace. I am comforted by the many friends that know exactly how I feel and I know how it feels to be the friend of someone who has lost a beloved pet as well. We really are all bonded in this experience and have the support and comfort we need within our circle of pet parents. God bless all and comfort those in need.
