Jakar is a handsome 3 year old who always looks good in his basic black. He was born feral, but became a beloved member of his family as a tiny kitten. He’s a fun loving guy who loves to play fetch with his pawrents, always bringing them toys to toss for him to retrieve. He also likes to wrestle with his brother Hedley who outweighs him by a lot!
He and his brothers Hedley and Neelix are active in MHL hockey and have become very good players in just a short time.
Perhaps the most important aspect of Jakar’s personality is his kindness and loyalty to his CC friends and family. Not a day goes by that you don’t see Jakar offer congratulations to his friends, bringing kind words to those who are ill or sad and supporting the CC family as a whole. Jakar is a wonderful and caring member of our CC community. Let’s show him how much we appreciate him by joining together to vote for him on Monday the 28th, to bring him his COTD badge. He certainly deserves it and his family will be so happy for him to be honored with a shiny COTD badge.

Hi, Rider, Vinny and Linus
THANK YOU for welcoming me to CC. I think I'm feeling a little better, but the shot the vet gave me BURNED. I didn't like that! Mom says it will help me. And speaking of "Mom"...I'm learning to trust her. I even jumped up onto the bed WITH her last night when she came in to keep me company. I'm also learning that the jingling sounds I keep hearing on the other side of the door are other kitties! I tried reaching under the door to one of them and I got HISSED at! - Dreamweaver

Really cold here but we keep wishing but can't seem to get the temps to go higher. Our mom has a new camera and is having trouble learning how to operate it. Today, Tuesday 1st November, is my first day at the Royal Castle and it also happens to be Mafia´s 24th birthday. Mafia is a handsome Siamese kitty and he´s also a very good friend of mine. Because of this, I have invited him to come and celebrate his special day with us here. The sun is shining brightly and every cat and kitten is invited to the party. We hope you can come and have a beautiful day with us.
My secretary, Dame Charlotte and my ladies in waiting have decorated the Castle for this occasion. Miss Strudel has been working on the floral arrangements and she has a done a remarkable job placing big bouquets of roses and catnip all over the place.
Miss Yum Yum and Miss Artemis have chosen a nice dress for me and they helped me also to brush my fur and comb my whiskers.
Cheff Sammy has prepared an exclusive feast for the party. It includes his famous burritos as well as a huge 3 floors mice cream cake which will be served along with catnip coffee or tea.
I want to thank to Misty & Quincy who will be performing a special show for Mafia and all of us this evening. Please, give a round of applause to them. King Mickey and I love dancing and we hope every kitty is ready to move tails and have a great time!!
The party will last until midnight. Dame Cherish and her pawesome group of kitty pilots will be performing an amazing Air-Show before dinner.
Miss Sparkles K is organizing a Treasure Hunt for the kittens assisted by Miss Mama & sweet Angel Loki.
Miss Zoe Monique, Dame Sassy Su, Dame Doodlebug and Miss Mimi will be receiving our guests at the entrance of the Castle and telling them about all the activities for this day. They will give a catnip balloon to each one of our guests too.
My Purrsonal Royal Guard, Sir Ernie, Sir Steve, Sir Kit, Sir Eynnie & Sir Lestat will be taking care of us and making sure we have a safe evening. Scratching posts and cats trees have put in every corner of the Castle for you to have fun.
Is my wish you have a purrfect day, dear kitties and lots of fun too!!

THE ANGELS BEFORE US – Part II

After Kamilla had her first litter she had her “big girl” surgery. Her kittens brought lots of joy and happy days to our Mommy. She will never ever forget them as long as she lives.
When Touchy was about 6 months old she sadly got missing. Mom and Grandma looked for her all over the neighborhood but they never could find her. Momma cried during many nights.
Natten and Whoopi grew up and they became two pretty ladies. And once again, the boys started to visit them.
There was a couple that lived in a house in the back of Mom´s home. They were very nice people and they loved cats. They had a black cat, it was a boy. Momma says he was gorgeous, with a shiny black amber coat and green eyes. He was the friendliest kitty she had ever met. He enjoyed coming to our yard and he kept purring load all the time.
Mom says Whoopi and him got married one day. They enjoyed being together, gave whiskers kisses to each other and had long sun baths over the grass. They became unseparable. When Whoopi had her first litter of kittens, her husband kept close to her and the whole family could be found sleeping over the chairs in the garden.
Momma had never seen such a special bond between two cats before. She thought God had blessed her.

Sweetheart... I wish I could cheer up your
Mom about the cat shows. Our Mom has learned to grab what victories that she can and be happy in those. *I* never finaled in ANY cat show. Granted, there was all that mess about what color I am, and that forced me to be an Open TWICE, plus WE have to deal with all those stupid politics in this area. Maybe that is why Mom was just happy for me to get what I got and be done with it. That is probably also why Mom was hoping so much that Piper would be a good show kitty. But if he doesn't behave at the June show, his show career will be OVER AND DONE WITH in the CFA. And Mom says that the ONLY reason she's going to take Piper to the ACFA show near you is BECAUSE of you, Linus, Vayda and your sweet mom! Mom is just hoping that Piper behaves well at the cat show. For her, that would be the ultimate win!
In fact, Mom has a horsie story to tell you. Once upon a time, Mom got asked to ride her friend Lonnie's Saddlebred in a BIG NATIONAL horse show. Mom reluctantly agreed and she worked that horse for 2 months prior to the show. When they got to the show, Mom had Sparky all braided and decked out like a dressage horse. As she came into the ring, she even heard one of the announcers say, "OOOOH! Look at THIS one!" Sparky had always given Mom lots of troubles when she asked him to canter, so she wasn't sure how they would do at the show. Plus, because it was such a big important show, there were close to 40 entries in the class. To make a long story short, Mom was completely surprised that SHE AND SPARKY not only survived the first cut, but they actually wound up placing 5th out of the final 18. Mom was so happy, she dropped the reins and just HUGGED Sparky right there in the lineup! To her, that pink ribbon was really BLUE.
So you see? Sure it would be GREAT to be the kitty that finals for your mom, but not all of us get that chance. My Mom has learned that she has to grab what victories she can and be happy in those. - Mocha's Myst'ry

you know, as mean as this may sound, I am hoping that you can show your Mom that you really ARE a GOOD Tonk and that you Final at some of those cat shows. I know it's stressful on us, but your Mom loves you so much ...and even if you do wind up being retired, I want you to know that MY Mom and I are VERY proud of you. Why...YOU have won more than I have! I won my title of Premier in the CFA (as have you) and I also have the title of Double Champion Alter in the ACFA...but YOU...YOU are now a QUADRUPLE Champion Alter! That's more than I ever won. WE are very proud of you! Mom also says that this is now a new show season and you won't have all those Quad GRAND CHAMPIONS competing against you, so you should do better. Hang in there, sweetheart! Oh, so you heard about the baths
and the (shudder) ear hair clippings too??? Yeah, Mom says she's gonna prep me just as if I was being shown..."Just so that (I) make the best presentation". I think Mom was hanging around her friend Leslie too much. Leslie was a friend of Mom's when she used to have a horse and evented. Leslie used to say that "It's not whether you win or lose, but how you LOOK when you play the game!"
Oh, TRUST ME, Rider. I will give you several very GOOD examples of how to curl up and hiss if Mom brings me to that cat show in Wisconsin! I PROMISE! MOL! - Your Auntie Mocha

Mom's making noises about ME coming along to cat shows...after she promised me that I would NEVER have to go to another cat show again. I am NOT happy about those comments. Not happy at all. At least I heard her say that I will NOT be shown because of my having chewed that fur off of my legs. At least that is now working in my favor! MOL! Oh my sweet nephew! What can I say?
Just "go with your gut"!I admit, cat shows TERRIFY me! THat is why I curl up and hiss. All those strange kitties, all those smells of intact boy cats, the horrible NOISE of those microphones! It's all just too much for me! I love our quiet life here at home. I must admit, I REALLY love that stroller! I didn't think I would, but I really like going out for those rides and seeing all those different things, but I'm also very glad that Mom doesn't take me out for all that long. At most, we have been outside in the stroller for an hour, and then we go HOME. At cat shows....I'm STUCK there! I don't know quite how to advise you, sweet Rider, but purrhaps if you search deep down within yourself and find that quaking scared kitten...wait...you never WERE a quaking, scared kitten. Oh dear! How HORRIFYING! A SECOND B-A-T-H???? YOW!
I am YOWLING in protest for your having to endure a SECOND b-a-t-h! It is irrelevant that it was a "partial" one...you were STILL forced to be WET! That is just...too much! While I never had any ear infections, I too am not very fond of having my ears messed with. At least your Mom has the common courtesy to not clip the hair inside of your ears for the cat show. MY mother...she's sneaky and evil about that. She clipped my ear hairs when I napping! What we go through just so that our mothers can take us to cat shows....it's just TERRIBLE. I sincerely hope you can teach your mother that this is all pointless and that you can convince her that you are so VERY VERY HAPPY AT HOME!
Now...my "mean" mom says that SHE hopes you "make your mama proud" at the show, that you behave, that you are a sweetheart and that you do well. My MOM sends you kitty kisses of love and support. Oh sweetheart! A B-A-T-H?
I am shuddering in sympathy. Mom has been making noises about giving ME a B-A-T-H also...and I AM retired from those awful cat shows! Now, you know that she gave one of those B-A-T-H-S to Piper last week...and he wasn't even in a cat show! Come to think of it, Mom says I'm not showable because of what I have done to the fur on my front legs, yet she STILL is making noises about that B-A-T-H for me. I think our mothers are VERY mixed up. Oh yes, I don't understand humans and their hygiene habits either. I mean...they VOLUNTARILY get into water! How disgusting!!!! Well, I wish you lots of GOOD LUCK at the cat show this weekend. Oh Rider...that stroller is GREAT!
I love to get outside and I LOVE seeing all the stuff. There's SQUIRRELS EVERYWHERE and there's birds, but it can be very frustrating. I want to run and CHASE those birds and squirrels, but I can't get out of the stroller. All I can do is stretch my neck and LOOK. BOY do I run around when I get home, though! MOL! - Highland Piper

You know, the problem is you are such a GOOD LOOKING Tonk, that's why your Mom wants to take you to so many cat shows. Same with that handsome brother of yours, Linus. If you really don't wanna be shown, then you need to do what I did...THROW A HISSY FIT! I never offered to bite anybody, but I was so upset and so scared, I just curled myself up into as tight a ball as I could and I HISSED with all my heart! I admit, Mom was rather dense about it, but she DID finally get the picture and retired me. I can SOOOOOOOOO identify with just wanting to stay home and be Mom's spoiled baby girl.

Sweet Great Nephew Rider!
You are just SOOOOOOOOOOo handsome! So you got a new collar, did you? Yeah, I wasn't real happy when Mom put a collar WITH A BELL ON IT on me either. That constant jingling...took a long time for me to get used to the thing. And those darned things are itchy, aren't they? THey must MAKE you want to scratch! MOL! And then that stupid bell just JINGLEJINGLEJINGLES! Harrumph!
Well, Mom went to a cat show yesterday and THANKFULLY did not bring home any new kittens! Whew! SHe saw YOUR newest ..Aunt? Yeah, she will be your Auntie...but she's younger than you! How funny is that!? She's a cutie, though.
I sure hope you can go to that show at the end of the month. I think you would do well, really I do. You have really chunked up nicely and I can't imagine that the judges would think anything except good things about you. It's so nice to meet you, guess what, we are one of Mocha's friends and we hope we can be one of yours too! You are so handsome and you know, Tonks rule teehee.

Thank you so much for voting for me and helping me be crowned COTD! It means so much to me and mom and it’s even helping me feel better. The vet and mom told me that I have to stay at the animal hospital until Monday. I told her it’s ok because I’m still not feeling well and I know she’s worried about me. Last night Dr. had to give me sub-q fluids and when he called mom this morning her told her that I was breathing well, didn’t have a temperature and I even ate a little. So mom is keeping positive and she can’t wait to see me on Monday.

Dear Rider,

A special day that encourages our parents to go out and splurge on us!!! Would we complain if they bought us an extra bag of treats, an extra can of cat food or a new toy??? We think not! Go ahead & indulge us Mom! (We ALL deserve it!) It's National Splurge On Your Cat Day! MOL!

We had a little rain earlier but it’s still toasty warm by us. Mom filled her tray with tomatoes & a couple of cucumbers for a second day in a row. We even posted a picture! Mom was careful to wash the tomatoes off when Cody was sleeping. She didn’t want him using them for hockey practice again!!!

I have to tell you that we were so confused because we looked & looked for a kitty named Quincy in your Family Profile. At that point we were so tired and decided to try to sort it out the next time we visited your family! We'll be sure to go by and say hello to Oliver. MOL!

So, how's my great nephew this morning? How are you and Linus doing since you can't sleep with your Mom at night? Are you two curling up together? I sure hope you aren't getting fussy at one another, but since you are a Tonk, I would rather think you would LIKE piling on Linus. Now, doesn't The Intruder have a vet appointment tomorrow? Mom said she WAS gonna take ME to the vet today, because SOMEBODY had diarrhea the other day and she knew it wasn't Sebs. She also noticed that I wasn't quite acting myself...BUT...I guess it was just a bug that was affecting me for a day or two. I was back to myself yesterday and even jumping up on Mom and playing "tag" with her. I haven't done that in a LONG time (mostly because Piper keeps running in and taking Mom's attention AWAY from MEEEEEEE!) Little brothers can be SOOOOOOOOOO annoying! As you are finding out! ~ Mocha
