Hello dear ♥ Zoie & family!!
Thank you for coming to our page to celebrate our COTD and our birthday with us!! Two years ago we were all alone and now we have our own home, a family and lots of friends all over the world to share our lives with.
We loved each one of the toys, treats, birthday wishes and kind words. They made our day super special. Mom and both of us were thrilled this morning to find our faces in the COTD window. Please, come to our home to celebrate with us. We´re having a huge pawty with all sort of goodies!!

Thanks for stopping by. We are almost ready for spring! It's been so nice here, but still i little cold. At night at least. Mom is getting really antsy to get out in the yard! Haha! We get to stay inside, mom gets to go out and dig in the dirt. Go figure. MOL!

Christmas With the Newcomer -- Diane Niemeyer
'Twas the night after Christmas, the time to replay
The events of that most hectic annual day.
The stockings, once hung by the chimney with care,
Were chewed on and drooled on and torn past repair.
No one was nestled all snug in his bed;
There was spilt milk and Friskies to clean up instead.
And me in my 'kerchief, and Dad in his cap,
Wished we'd settled down for a much-needed nap,
When somewhere downstairs there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chores to see what was the matter.
Away down the steps I flew like a flash,
Just as I heard one more thunderous crash.
The moon wasn't out, so I switched on the light,
Still hoping to see everything was all right,
When, what for my wondering eyes was in store,
But my family-room curtains a-heap on the floor.
I re-hung the drapes, but to end all this "fun,"
I knew in a moment more work must be done.
More rapid than eagles I rushed all around,
To make certain everything was safe and sound.
Out, tinsel! Out, ribbons! Out bright-colored bow!
Out, garland! Out, ivy! Out, all mistletoe!
From the poinsettia plant, to the yarn in the hall,
It's throw away! Throw away! Throw away all!
Next I turned my attention to the Christmas tree,
Making sure it was totally temptation-free.
I moved ornaments up, for three feet or so,
And no strand of lights was left dangling low.
When then, in a twinkling, I heard soft and sweet,
The prancing and pawing of four little feet.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
By the chimney this character came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And was covered all over with ashes and soot;
The ears stood straight up on this bold little elf,
And he looked overwhelmingly pleased with himself.
His eyes--how they twinkled! He purred like a glutton!
His tongue, pink and raspy; his nose, like a button!
His droll little tail was drawn up like a bow,
And those whiskers of his looked like yesterday's snow.
I had not a doubt that this bundle of gray
Was the cause of the chaos at our house today.
How proudly he strolled, with what grace and what style,
As he tracked soot and ashes all over the tile.
He was chubby and plump and out to impress,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of the mess.
I scooped up the imp, and I patted his head,
But he seemed to sense he had something to dread;
I spoke not a word, but went straight for the sink,
Where I washed him and dried him, as quick as a wink.
Then he darted away and stopped on a stair,
And giving a nod, he fell sound asleep there.
He dreamt and he kneaded and purred; all the while
I regarded him with half-frown and half-smile.
And you'd hear me exclaim, as I cleaned up our flat,
"I'll remember the Christmas that we got a cat."

We Complain! And No One Is Listening!! Waaaahh!! Mom will only blog now and then. That's as much as she can stand. It's a shame...
We had snow last night, about an inch or so, but it all melted today when it got up to 40* and rained hard! It's still raining, and they are saying we might get about half an inch. That's gonna make everything really mucky outside. Sure glad I don't have to be out there! :)

Oh, this new CC is SO much slower! Part of it has to do with the way the pages reload, and don't go back to where you were if you hit delete or edit. Mom's computer used to just flt through all the regular stuff on the old CC. This one is really dragging. *grumble* We still keep writing to the tech dept. but get no reply. THAT kinda makes mom mad, too. She wouldn't keep writing if they would answer her! She could just scream! Glad she doesn't though... Ho ho ho!

Well, it looks like the fiendish IT gurus at Bowtie have done it again! I refer of course to the insidious slow-down on CC.
Since the new "improvements" (can anyone tell me what has actually been improved?) CC has continued to move slower and slower, JUST like DC! That's the reason mom gave up over there, and that will eventually be the reason she will give up here. It takes her over an hour now in the morning just to do her "usual" voting and visiting. She has had to leave some of it unfinished now so she can get out of the house on time.
This is NO improvement. She used to get all her usual stuff done in ab0ut 40 minutes. HOW do they manage to make it go slower - and a better question is, WHY?
Mom already knows how slow they can make it, since she was a "victim" of the DC "improvements". So she's already almost got one foot out the door here. This new format is too aggravating, and too slow. Mom might put most of us on one page and delete the rest, so she won't have to go to so many pages to blog - IF she blogs. This is ridiculous. Too slow! *grumble*
I guess I can sum it up by saying, expect to see a lot less of us in the near future. This is driving mom nuts. *sniffle*

We had our first little snow shower earlier today. It wasn't much and didn't last long. Didn't even stick. But still, I think it means winter really is right around the corner!
Yeah, we're a little miffed. They fibbed about the changes being mainly in appearance. A lot of things don't work like they did before. We'll have to send them a couple notes about the stuff we would like to have returned to the way it worked before. They'll get to it when they can. They did on DC. It took awhile, but several complaints over there were corrected. Not ALL of them! That's why mom gave up on DC.
We hope they can get stuff repaired here without too much trouble, or taking too long about it. I'm already hearing grumblings from a couple people about quitting CC. But we say give it a few weeks. At least first let them know what you want! And give them a chance to fix it. It does take time. Purrs

So, how do you like the "new" CC? Well, we have voted, and the results are in. We do NOT like it. We don't see one single improvement, no matter what CC says, but there are a few things that have been made more aggravating. For example, when we delete a blog, the page goes back to the top now, instead of going back to where we were. Very annoying.
The "new" CC is nothing more than a poorly recycled version of the "new" DC. And that right there is enough to make mom not like it. But the biggest problem is that the stuff they did get right on DC, they didn't do over here! And people over on DC had even compliment them about a COUPLE things they did.
For example, the instant voting. You don't have to wait for the page to reload over there, you just check a little "Thanks for your vote" window. And you leave the blogs at the TOP of the page over there.
AND you can click "Edit profile" or "Upload" or "Delete" (to the photo gallery) right from your actual profile page. You don't have to go to your account page. It's really convenient. And the gallery is at the top, too, right under the profile photo. And it even displays all your awards, so if you have won DOTD more than once, both badges are shown.
And when you delete a blog, the page doesn't move. It just deletes that blog, but you stay right where you are. AND it will ask you first if you are SURE you want to delete that blog. I like that, because mom has accidentally deleted blogs before that she really wanted to keep. With the "Are you sure?" option, you can check first.
There is a lot of redundant junk on DC that they didn't do here, and that's great! Nobody uses any of it, it just takes up space.
The "Friends" feature on DC is so-so. We can take it or leave it.
We really wish they had kept the good and from DC and applied it over here. It's probably a real technical hassle to change that stuff now. Don't know, I suppose we could ask! MOL!

PS - Sorry to be so long winded today! We haven't been on CC for about 3 or 4 days! And BTW, my mom ONLY logs in to DC now to keep her points from expiring until she redeems them all. She doesn't like DC, not so much because of the changes, but because there just seems to be a LOT of new people, who are ALL rude! Yipes! The scavenger hunt for mom's brain was only party successful. Good mews, bad mews. We think we've found most of it, but we are having a dickens of a time putting it back together right. We seem to have accidentally put the "obsessive-compulsive organizing" section where the "rest and relaxation" section is supposed to go, and we can't find THAT part at all! So crazy mom spent most of yesterday rearranging the kitchen! Now we know how Frankenstein must have felt. How discouraging. *sigh*

We're all on a scavenger hunt here, first one to find the last piece of mom's brain wins. We've managed to collect most of them, we think. Might only be a couple missing now. She has really been acting scatter brained, and now look what happened! Not only is she depending on a group of cats to find all the pieces, she also has to hope we can put it back together right. This is gonna be a real challenge, bigger than anything we've ever attempted before. But - what if we fail?? She might end up looking like that thing sneaking out of the coffin in my profile picture!! *gulp* Too scary to think about. Wish us luck!

Oh my gosh, your flying ghost sounds scary! It would probably scare me right out of my fur! I spook so easy! :)
Well, mom and dad heaved and hauled and finally wrestled our fireplace outside so mom could repaint it. Now it's done drying so they have to heave and haul it back into the house! Hahaa!
Meanwhile, mom has started her fall weather baking. She made some sugar cookies a couple days ago with dates in them - ick! But she made a salmon patty for us, so it's good. Today she's making a devil's food cake. I wonder why she's making that? We don't have any devils here to feed! MOL! Tuesday purrs to you!

Oh wow, your yard sounds too scary for me! *giggle* Mom is finally starting to feel better. She's just puttering around today getting a few blogs caught up until the temperature warms up to 50* outside. It's only 40* right now - up from 28*! She needs it to be at least 50* so she can repaint our fireplace and stove pipes, since she brought them outside to paint. And YES! She should have done it a month ago! Nothing like waiting until after the last minute! Sheesh, mom! Hahaa! Have a nice Sunday.

Happy Saturday! Hooray! Mom stayed in bed a whole 15 minutes longer than usual. She says she feels like a lazy sloth! Haha! Still coughing, got the sniffles. The sky is still brown. Ah, fall! *grumble* There's not much anyone can do except stay inside as much as possible if you're having breathing problems. We do have an air purifier. *forehead slap* I JUST thought if this! *grrrr* Mom should put the stupid thing in the bedroom at night! Duh! She leaves it in the kitchen. It would be a cinch to move. Maybe if she's not too brain dead tonight she'll remember to do that.
She says she plans on doing as little as possible today, but she's STILL determined to get caught up on CC! On a few profiles she's still about 4 or 5 days behind. We HATE when that happens! The weather has almost cooled down enough to break out the baking pans - mom's favorite time of year! She and dad get to bulk up on good nutritious stuff like cookies and brownies! Haha! We can hardly believe that October is only 2 days away. The weather has been really mild, and not even too cold overnight yet. I suppose that could change any minute. We better enjoy it while we can! Sorry we've been gone for a few days. Mom has been having some breathing problems because of all the smoke from the fires around the state. Friday she finally got really sick and has been offline almost completely. So, today all we're doing is visiting everyone to let them know we haven't abandoned CC. Mom is just trying to get well. But there is still no telling when this smoke will clear out, although we had a nice rain shower go through yesterday afternoon and that did help - a little. They are forecasting things will start looking better as early as tomorrow. We are really keeping our paws crossed! Purrs

Puppies!
Wow, we haven't had a puppy in the house since M & D brought our dog home over 5 years ago. I should teller her to go visit Daisy on DC. Did she tell you that our other do was named Daisy, too?
Once again we've been kind of out of circulation. The fires in Washington and neighboring states are causing something of a crisis. Air quality is about the same as inside the chimney of a burning fireplace! It's VERY bad. The sky is completely brown, and breathing is difficult at best, painful at times. And all of us are having problems to some extent.
Mom has been trying to keep us all quiet, which is usually no problem. Being cats, we usually spend most of our time sleeping anyway. Except when we know that's what she wants! :) Of course we all want to romp and carry on now. Exactly what we shouldn't be doing. She's even keeping the dog in almost 24-7. No dog walkies lately. :(
We MIGHT get a slight break from the smoke tomorrow, at least that's the tentative forecast. But it can change at a moment's notice. And they have mentioned the possibility of T-storms. BAD news! Those are mainly what caused the fires in the first place! So mom has been staying inside and being lazy. This could last for another several days. And we aren't complaining too loudly. We like being able to pester mom, and we can do it MUCH better when she's not locked in the computer room! MOL!

The 100's?
Whoo! That's kinda warm for September! Even here, in the middle of the desert, we're cooling down to about the mid-80's now. The upper 30's or low 40's at night, though. Kinda brrrr, if you ask me! Nut mom is taking advantage to that to cool the house naturally. She leaves the windows open at night and it gets down to about 60* in the house, then she closes the windows when it starts to warm up outside. It usually never even breaks 70* in here! Very comfy.
Now if we could just do something about all these fires out here. It's pretty bad, lots of smoke, and we are nearly 80 miles from the nearest fire! We are really hoping for rain in the fire areas. Our mom's been pretty busy, too, trying to get ready for fall. Right now she's just sure glad we all made it through another week! She's been having excruciating pain in her right heel and back of her leg - plantar fasciitis. She has so much darn work to get done before fall really gets here, but she is going to try and relax today anyway - as much as it really annoys her to put anything off. The weather should be nice for another while longer, so she figures ONE day off her foot won't make that much difference in her "fall schedule"!
It seems like the smoke has dissipated a little around here, but we can still smell it, and mom still has her sore throat, and we (mainly me, Hot Rod, and Autumn) still have the sniffles. It's been warmer now during the day, upper 70's here, but the nights are still cool.
One thing we like about the weather getting cooler is that mom will start doing a lot more cooking and baking. She makes entirely TOO MANY salads and sandwiches during the summer! MOL! Hope your mom is enjoying her Saturday. Purrs

The scavenger hunt is off to an excellent start. I wondered who will be first to find an actual scavenger, and it was our beloved jester, Mallow, with two vultures. (Evie, you might want to be careful going back to your room) As to items actually on the list, Kiera's family have brought a beautiful Earth butterfly who is being released from his jar into s special habitat, full of hibiscus. Lelu brought a sparkling jar of river water, which has the unusual side effect of causing levitation and spangling the drinker with glitter dust. Keep hunting kitties! You can bring things from your own explorations, of follow the trial of others. First complete list wins!
Exit is ready to carry a spcae mapping crew into space. Who wants to to go along? Shaodwfoot has the telescope, and maybe Thundie would like some space piloting experience? Charlotte? Observatory kitties?
Our intrepid Trixie has discovered the caves behind Cyclone Falls. One passage ends in a huge dropoff so we'll need some experienced climbers and strong-winged angels to help out there. But the lefthand path leads to Purradise Valley! Here you can visit a tribe of voiceless calico kitties and their flocks of miniature dragons. Joseph, with his excellent command of Feline Sign Language, will be our liaison with the calicoes. Dolly's team have made contact with a UFO - the friendly kitties waved before disappearing in a hyperspace jump. And Button Blue has discovered that the Bittens eat jellybeans! They grow on trees with silver, star shaped leaves. Please remember to plant a bean or two form every pawful you harvest! In our final discovery for the day, Sassee tells me the Keteens are able to change colour from their usual black to champagne pink or cheetah spotted. I wonder if they farm shoes and accessories?
Our greenhouse is progressing, as Carman has brought fresh gingerbread walls, and Mimi has brought preying mantis eggs. Kuce's family have volunteered to help with the building - Fang being an excellent digger - and their angels will make the Milk River supply deliveries. Now we need to get going on the caticillin lab! Zoe says she'll need vials and mixers for the processing. The mould, mushrooms, and glowing moon plants will provide plenty of potent medicine for any injured or ill kitties. However, it will come in injectable form only. At least we will not need to visit the v-e-t!
Today's human law is from Button Blue: All humans will eat out of "cute" little cat shaped or fish shaped dishes placed strategically on the FLOOR. Oh my gosh....I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve been by to meow with you and your fursibs....it’s that thing our pawrents call time.....it seems to get away from mom all the time....MOL! She does try hard to keep in touch with my furiends, but I have to keep reminding her that I’m goinna start taking typing lessons if she doesn’t shape up!

Well, they're saying the bugs are kind of bad this year because we had a pretty mild winter. We have ants really bad! I hate those things! They get into everything - especially our FOOD!!! Aauughhh!
We have had two fantastic, beautiful, comfortable days here! Woohoo! Mid-80's, clear, breezy, low humidity! Couldn't have asked for more if we ordered this ourselves! This is really more like what we're used to. Yeah, we have a few miserable days of weather in the summer, but we usually don't have that awful humidity to deal with! Now, if we are REALLY lucky, that will late care of the 100's, too. 80's and 90's we can deal with. Hope you are having a spectacular Sunday! Purrs

Long time, no meow! I'm glad you are all doing super! I can't believe how far behind mom has let me get! Seems everybody else is about caught up, and me - I'm way out-of-date! Geesh! Well, we are done with our awful, humid weather, at least for now. No more storms for awhile either, just clear blue skies, and MAYBE not as hot, at least for a few days. In the upper 80's today. Not half bad.
Mom actually went outside earlier and did a little fertilizing again, and tossed out some bug killer. Our dog had another big tick! And this time we know she didn't get it at the river 'cuz M & D haven't been there for a couple months. And the lousy flea and tick collar didn't help! So the dog had to get one of those squeezy things, and mom went out and doused the yard with bug killer.
We heard that a lot of areas have been having especially bad infestations of fleas and/or ticks this year. We didn't hear that about our area, but it would seem we have a problem, too. In 22 years here, mom has never had ticks on her dogs! So something is definitely up. :(
