Seize the weekend ((¯`v´¯))Oct 22: Make a Difference Day((¯`v´¯)) Make A Difference Day is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. This is the nation’s largest volunteering day. Millions of Americans rally into action to help change and make the world a better place through undertakings that include revitalizing community centers, rehabilitating parks, improving low-income homes, creating community art projects, mentoring, serving meals, developing community gardens and much more. Seize the day, seize the moment, inspire, equip and mobilize corporations, nonprofit organizations, families and individuals to improve communities throughout the year. “Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience and just plain love for another.” - Erma Bombeck 1861 1st telegraph line linking West & East coasts completed 1914 U.S.A.
