momma's thumb is still a little swelled but getting better, but she still cant do much with it like picking up stuff and holding stuff. i am doing just fine after my bum mishap!! hhhaaaaaaaa
we are all fine here and dry. no rain from the big storm down on the coast tho we could sure us some as we are behind on rainfall.
well thundie has been busy doing the spokesman's part for the motorcycle club but i think he has gotten it all done for today.

***Half Moon Apple Pies
***Ingredients:
Pastry for a two crust pie
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light or golden brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 large apples, peeled, cored and diced
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Glaze: 3 egg yolks + 3 teaspoons milk
***Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease and flour a large baking sheet. Set aside.
2) Combine both sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a small saucepan. Add apples and lemon juice; toss to coat. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4 to 5 or until apples are tender, stirring often. Remove from the heat.
3) Divide pastry into two sections. Roll each as for a 9-inch pie. Using a 4 or 6-inch round cutter, cut dough into 4 or 6-inch circles. Using a tablespoon if for 4-inch pies or a 1/4 cup measure for 6-inch pies, spoon filling into center of circle. Moisten edges with water, fold in half and crimp with tines of a fork. Place on prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, beat egg yolks with milk. Generously brush half moons with glaze.
4) Bake on center rack of oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until deep golden brown. These are best if served warm. Yield: 8 to 16 servings.

****BLUE MOON SAMMIES
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/3 cup chili sauce
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup pimento stuffed olive, chopped
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
***Directions: Mix all ingredients and chill. Trim crusts from white or whole wheat bread and spread with mixture. Cut into three strips for sandwiches. Can also be molded and served with crackers or melba toast rounds. Feed the cut-off crusts to any birds that are hanging about!

My Darlin Son Luckster!!
Sooooo good to hear from you. Glad you are enjoying your summer. Can you believe Dad & I have almost been married a whole year??!! Sam & I have been having such a wonderful time with Queen Cherish on the cruise. Swimming in the Aegean Sea is like being in liquid turquoise!! We are getting ready to celebrate our 1st anniversary on Monday!! We will be celebrating on the cruise with Queen Cherish with a lavish costume party!! Sam & I are going as Scarlett & Rhett!! Sure hope you can come!! Mom, on the other hand, is in denial again about her diabetes!! The Dr gave her meds to take, but she doesn’t want to take them. She took one & things got better, so she didn’t take the next one. Now this AM, her reading is high again, so she promised to take the meds!!! We enjoyed getting the right name of King Mike’s Barkerville!! Mom was there when she was a kid back in the 1950s & 60s. Dad goes back to work today, so we are going to watch Dallas & catch up on quiet time. I haven’t tried to go outside again, as sooooo many of my CC friends have convinced me it is a jungle out there!! RUMBLE, ROAR…12 MOTORCYCLES…
smoothly maneuver into the driveway of LUCKY who is already celebrating his Birthday! The riders skillfully purrrrr to a stop, six on one side of the driveway and six on the other side. In unison Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Kuzi, Kiska, Vika, Thundie, Doodlebug, Q. Lola, Mallow, Snowy, and Ammie step off their magnificent Harleys, take off their helmets, hang them on their bikes and look to me as this week’s Leader of the Hairballz Rainbow Riders. I’m standing next to my 500 cc Katasaki. I say “Let’s go help LUCKY celebrate his Lucky 3rd Birthday!”
We carry in the goodies that smell so heavenly. We shower LUCKY with confetti, balloons and we blow catnip bubbles for him to pop. We bring out the salmon cake, tuna ice cream, creamy milk and piles of other goodies and fattening snacks for him to enjoy and share with the rest of his friends who have stopped by to party! We hand him the boxes and bags of wrapped cat toys and surprises.
I meow to the Riders: “Come on Hairballz Riders – time to roll!” Just as smoothly as they arrived, the expert riders strap on their helmets, hop onto their motorcycles and follow my lead down the driveway and off to our next destination. We wave to LUCKY who is now playing in the boxes and bags (always more fun than the actual cat toys…).
We give a motorcycle “wave” as we rumble across LUCKY’s votey button and roar off down the highway looking for our next adventure…
