Hello Mufasa
Thank you for your kind words, prayers & sweet thoughts. Like many of you, Mommy knows all too well about kidney disease. Her Dot passed away at the age of 17 from kidney disease & hyperthyroidism in October 2000. Mommy had hoped it would be a very long time before she was faced with this awful disease again. She will do her very best to give me the greatest care possible & lots of TLC.

I am eating the k/d canned and dry foods pretty well so far. Mommy says it is extremely difficult having one baby on a special diet. But we are doing our best with this situation & taking it one day at a time.

Thanks again for your prayers & concern. We really do appreciate it. Job 12:10 says “In God’s hands is the life of every creature.” We believe this to be true.

We miss you, Mufasa
How are you? Yesterday I visited Dr. William for my annual checkup, blood work (CBC, 6-panel, T3 & T4), shots and 3-month Schirmer eye test. First the good news – my eyes are doing well.

Mommy’s intuition told her something was going on with me, so now the not-so-good mews. I am in the very early stages of kidney disease:
My BUN level = 38 (normal is 16-36)
My Creatinine = 2.6 (normal is .8-2.4)

Dr. William says we caught this early. For now, we are going to treat it by changing my diet to Prescription Diet k/d. So far, I am eating both the k/d canned and the k/d dry food. We will recheck my levels in 3 months.

I also have a UTI, so I am taking Clavamox, the wonder drug. My thyroid level (T4) is in the “grey area” so Dr. William sent some of my blood to Texas A&M so they can run a test called T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis. We should receive those results next week.

As you can imagine, Mommy is very upset, stressed, & worried about me. Please keep us in your prayers.

Good evening dearest ♥ Mufasa!!

Mom will be busy over the next couple of days as she will be working double shift at the Hospital. I would like to hiss to her boss, since I don´t like when she comes home late. MOL!!
I´m now making sure she helps me to write my kitty letters because I know she will not have much free time left later.

It was pretty cold this morning when we woke up. Mr.Sun was shining but it was windy. Sally and me were napping until late and then Mom gave us some tuna treats she bought on her way back from work. They were yummy.

Mom´s Grandma is staying home with us during this month and that means we are never alone. In fact, we have Grandma and Great Grandma to spoil us 24 hours a day. Tee-hee!! I like curling up over Great Grandma´s lap while she seats and watches TV. She rubs my ears and I purr.

Stopping in to let you know that we are back online,after being off fo awhile. My brother Levi was sick for about a month,and finally.mom and dad had to let him go on the 3rd of this month. He left a big hole in moms heart,for she bottle raised him from two- weeks of age. He was only four. How have you been,my friend? So glad your vet visit went well. What’s mew? It was another dark ☁ and stormy ☂ day here in southwest Mississippi yesterday. Today it is chilly & very windy. As many of you know, our 91 year old great-grandmother (Nana’s Mom) fell at the nursing home yesterday. She went by ambulance to the hospital for xrays which thankfully did not show any broken bones. She is very bruised & sore. MeMe is tiny, weighing only 105 lbs and she has Alzheimer’s. She does not even remember falling. So please keep MeMe and our worried Nana in your prayers as this is a very stressful time for our family.

Thank you for pawing by last week to check on me after my teeth cleaning. I did really well, Mommy was the nervous one. I am brave, Mommy not so much! Now my choppers are all white & shiny! I am still sleeping a lot, mostly in Nana’s lap. That might have a lot to do with our weather.

It has been raining here since yesterday & is still raining today. We are under a Flash Flood Watch. We are supposed to receive between 5 and 7 inches of rain from yesterday through tomorrow. Unreal. Yesterday we were under a Tornado Watch all day until 11 p.m.. Several tornadoes touched down in south Mississippi yesterday. The biggest one was in Hattiesburg which is about 2 hours south of us. It damaged over 300 homes & buildings and more than 60 people were injured. Mommy’s alma mater USM (University Of Southern Mississippi) was heavily damaged. The news said it looked just like when Hurricane Katrina came through there. So sad to see so much destruction and lives changed in an instant. Please keep everyone affected by those tornadoes in your prayers.

Thank you for pawing by to check on me. I am feeling all better now from the interstitial cystitis. That trip & vet visit really stressed me out. Mommy is already stressing out about having my teeth cleaned on Feb 7th. So please bear with us when you have to listen to Mommy worrying again then.

That is good that you are eating your w/d food. I refuse to eat my SD Prescription Diet r/d diet food. I prefer my Cat Chow Naturals.

I know your buddy enjoyed that dvd from Purina. We have read that sometimes diabetic kitties will develop cataracts. So maybe that is what is causing you to have bad eyesight. I know that Dr. Clements will help you.

How was your weekend? Saturday I visited Dr. William for my yearly checkup, shots & blood work. All of my tests were purrfect - urine sample was clear, poop sample was negative for all parasites (yea!), temp was good, skin & ears looked great, blood work (CBC & 6-panel including BUN, Glucose & Creatinine) was all normal! I weighed 15.5 lbs (which was less than the 15.13 on our digital pet scales at home) so we LOVED Dr. William’s scales! As expected, I need my teeth cleaned. I have that appointment on Thursday, Feb 7th.

After arriving back home from the 30 mile trip, I ate & went tee tee and all seemed well. Then about 2 hours after we had been home, I started going from litter box to litter box, getting in & doing a few drops. Mommy panicked & called Dr. William on his cell. William said that I was probably having a bout of interstitial cystitis from the stress of my trip & vet visit. I had my first occurrence of this in 2009. William said to do what is comforting to me which is to be held preferably by Nana and to eat. So that is what we did the rest of Caturday & Sunday. Mommy & Nana did not let me out of their sight. Dr. William said to call him back Sunday morning with an update.

Mommy is happy to report that since late Caturday, I have been doing great – no more pacing from one litterbox to another, just going normal potty. As you can imagine, Mommy & Nana are much relieved. Dr. William was pleased to hear the good news. He said that usually when stress causes the interstitial cystitis to reoccur, it does not last but a day or so. I mostly slept yesterday, although I did play a little bit with my wand toys. After being so sicky in 2009, I became a very clingy, needy boy. So Mommy tries to keep me happy & stress-free.

I take Resources Urinary Tract supplements every day since July 2009 to help prevent this type of cystitis. At night, Mommy mixes this with some of my Cat Chow Naturals dry food & water and I eat on that all during the night. But Friday night I could not have it because of my bloodwork Caturday morning. Of course Mommy blames herself for me being sick. That is just what Moms do, isn’t it? Even my PawPaw was worried about his “little buddy” & both of my sisters were concerned too. Sissy was even “nice” to me, she did not hiss or growl at me, not even once!

Hello Fur Friend ♥ Mufasa!!
It is a nice summer Tuesday at home and we´re helping Mom to cook potato knishes. Dad loves them and since it is not too hot today, Mommy thought she would prepare knishes for him.
I like sitting over the kitchen counter when Mom cooks; it´s a great place to supervise what she does.
Sally also enjoys helping Mom. She meows at her when she opens the cupboards. I think that´s because she knows our wet tuna food comes from there too. MOL!! My sissy Sally loves eating!!

Our Grandma is spending her summer vacations with her family at the beach in Mar del Plata. We sure miss her but Momma tell us she´s having a great time. Surely she will bring us a little gift when she comes back home in February.

Hello Fur Friend ♥ Mufasa!!
Momma and I ask you to forgive us because this is a c/p blog, but we´re very behind and we want to visit as many friends as possible. Happy belated New Year 2013!!
We have some wonderful news to share with you. We had very special guests at home with us during this week.
Maggie´s parents (#223639) came to Buenos Aires. They met Mom & Dad and they met US too!! You can see a photo of them with me at the bottom of my page. I loved Mom Irene and Dad Bob. They were super nice with us. They rubbed my belly and gave me lots of cuddles. I purred and gave them headbonks.
My Mommy was more than glad to meet our friends!! She celebrated her birthday yesterday and it was a very special one. Dad cooked a barbacue for our American friends and we all had a great night together. CC is an amazing place, a big family. We have met the nicest people ever here. Mommy has always dreamed of meeting our friends and she had the best gift in the whole world sharing her birthday with Maggie´s parents. We will never forget the days we spent together.
We´re sorry for being off line for a couple of days. We are now back and Mom will try to catch up in our blogs.
We hope you have a purrfect night and nice mice dreams. Here is a kitty kiss along with a huge bunch of whisker kisses and hugs...

Thought I would start the New Year off with some 'little known' facts about the Peach State Cats! I hope you enjoy and I will start with myself...

BART~nicknamed Booger Boy-REASON: I got sick and nearly died shortly after mom adopted me. My little eyes stayed crusted shut with what mom called 'eye boogers',and she would bathe them open every morning while talking softly to me,calling me her Booger Boy....the name stuck,just like the eye crud!

SMUDGE~Will meow his fool head off for mom and dad to pet him,then keep j-u-s-t out of reach so they can't,leading then around the yard!

GROWLIE~Won't let anyone but mom pet him!

SAMSON~ADORES being petted! He had rather mom pet him than eat,and will even 'grab' moms hand if she pulls it away!

CHARLIE~ His shelter name was ARMANI,but even though it suited his good-looking tux,mom changed it because dad would never have remembered it!

DIXON~Has a very high-pitched meow! No one takes him serious when he tries to be aggressive! I mean,there he is,in his 'aggressive Tom' stance...back bowed,head down,legs stiff......then out comes this sound like air slowly released out of a balloon!!MOL! Dixon could make another kitty laugh to death!

Christmas With the Newcomer -- Diane Niemeyer
'Twas the night after Christmas, the time to replay
The events of that most hectic annual day.
The stockings, once hung by the chimney with care,
Were chewed on and drooled on and torn past repair.
No one was nestled all snug in his bed;
There was spilt milk and Friskies to clean up instead.
And me in my 'kerchief, and Dad in his cap,
Wished we'd settled down for a much-needed nap,
When somewhere downstairs there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chores to see what was the matter.
Away down the steps I flew like a flash,
Just as I heard one more thunderous crash.

The moon wasn't out, so I switched on the light,
Still hoping to see everything was all right,
When, what for my wondering eyes was in store,
But my family-room curtains a-heap on the floor.
I re-hung the drapes, but to end all this "fun,"
I knew in a moment more work must be done.
More rapid than eagles I rushed all around,
To make certain everything was safe and sound.
Out, tinsel! Out, ribbons! Out bright-colored bow!
Out, garland! Out, ivy! Out, all mistletoe!
From the poinsettia plant, to the yarn in the hall,
It's throw away! Throw away! Throw away all!

Next I turned my attention to the Christmas tree,
Making sure it was totally temptation-free.
I moved ornaments up, for three feet or so,
And no strand of lights was left dangling low.
When then, in a twinkling, I heard soft and sweet,
The prancing and pawing of four little feet.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
By the chimney this character came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And was covered all over with ashes and soot;
The ears stood straight up on this bold little elf,
And he looked overwhelmingly pleased with himself.

His eyes--how they twinkled! He purred like a glutton!
His tongue, pink and raspy; his nose, like a button!
His droll little tail was drawn up like a bow,
And those whiskers of his looked like yesterday's snow.
I had not a doubt that this bundle of gray
Was the cause of the chaos at our house today.
How proudly he strolled, with what grace and what style,
As he tracked soot and ashes all over the tile.
He was chubby and plump and out to impress,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of the mess.
I scooped up the imp, and I patted his head,
But he seemed to sense he had something to dread;

I spoke not a word, but went straight for the sink,
Where I washed him and dried him, as quick as a wink.
Then he darted away and stopped on a stair,
And giving a nod, he fell sound asleep there.
He dreamt and he kneaded and purred; all the while
I regarded him with half-frown and half-smile.
And you'd hear me exclaim, as I cleaned up our flat,
"I'll remember the Christmas that we got a cat."

The temperature was high 46 & low was 37 this morning, now it's 45 feels like 46 with humidity 79% & wind is 5 MPH SSW. Tuesday's suppose to be Rain & High 46.

♥ Mom didn't get to sleep much last night as Whyskrs 10378 kept waking mom up as did Bahaneetah 10641, Sassee 10605 and even I did one time. Mom finally got back to sleep about 4:30 and quickly woke up almost 7:00 this morning. Mom was on the computer for a short time as she had to feed the outside kitties then us inside kitties and scoop the litter boxes.

♥ Mom had to go to Wal*Mart to get her shampoo, conditioner and a few baking things as she's hoping to bake some cookies tomorrow to have for their Bible Study on Wednesday.

♥ Well, just as mom xpected, it came true!!!! Dad's sister brought over Dinner fixings for tomorrow. She brought over a ham, pumpkin pie, potato salad, salmon loaf, chips and a few other goodies.

♥ Even though we do not celebrate the Christmas, we do hope and pray that during your travels to and back home, to please stay safe, but ALL have fun, too!!!!

How was your day today? We managed to get up to 34 degrees and some of the snow melted because the sun came out for a while. Mom was a little sad because she wanted some snow for Christmas. Tomorrow we are expecting a rain and snow mix and a little snow on Christmas day so, perhaps Mom will get her wish. Mom and Dad went to church this morning and then off to a Christmas pawty this afternoon. Finally they are home and now we can all spend some time relaxing. But, before we do I wanted to stop by and leave a Christmas wish for you and your family. ♥ Mom made sure we all of us inside and outside kitties ate at noon today, then she changed into her good clothes then her and dad left to go to Izzy's. Mom wanted to get there early enough to make sure there was a table for all of them. Everyone was about a half hour late xcept mom and dad. Mom had a purr*fect day with visiting with her second oldest full-blood brother Chris and also with her baby half brother Jeff. You can see a group picture of all of them at the bottom of my page in my picture gallery.

♥ Mom also changed my profile photo this evening.

♥ PATCH 12767 is doing good with only two more days left on the antibiotic Baytril. She is back to being more active, too!!!! Thank you for your prayers!!!!

We're sorry your insulin had to be increased by one unit!!!! We pray it doesn't have to be increased anymore!!!! That's alot that you're taking!!!! Our doggie sister, Carly, was taking 10 units til her food was changed to the Prescription Diet w/d so now she's way down to 3 units twice a day!!!!
We also will keep your buddy in our prayers for him to get this job he will be having an interview for!!!!

~Caturday meows from the NICE Crew~
GREAT to hear from you & your buddy Mufasa! That was very nice of your dad to tell the lady at the vet office about his experience with your diabetes. I'm sure it put her mind at ease if this is new for her. The job news for your buddy is wonderful!!! We'll be keeping our paws crossed too & will also say prayers that things will work out well for him.

Well mom & dad got their shopping all done & even managed to stay within their budget...MOL! Big sis wasn't able to come over to watch us but GM & GP (dad's pawents) were very willing to watch the kids for them.
Big sis was sad & had something else to do when she found her neighbor's dog killed in her yard after it got hit on the road. It took her a while but she finally located her neighbor & they came over to claim the poor doggie's body. The neighbor said it had been missing for a week & they'd filed a report with the police but they thought that she was probably gone forever. Sadly for them it looks as if she was making her way home but missed it by only a few yards. It makes us very sad when things like that happen but we're glad that big sis took care of things so well & that she has a big heart where all animals are concerned.
I hear K Steve #206575 is out caroling today! I can hear his meows echoing across the community & will happily pounce over to join him & pass our some candy canes as we prowl around. Teehee...I've also found a cute poem to share with you that describes the fun that grown-ups have before the kids have a chance to. Have a pawtastic Caturday everyone!

I'm glad your buddy talked to the lady at the vet's and I hope the new dose of insulin will keep you going strong with good blood levels. I am so pleased to hear that your buddy is likely to get that job. All fingers and paws crossed here, with prayers coming your way.

I don't know if you heard my sad news, Mufasa. My beloved Daddy passed away November 14. Mom and I have been off CC as we mourn our hero, our Irish angel. I am trying to keep Mom going, but we are missing my Daddy so much.

Hello dear friend Mufasa!!

Santa Paw came a little bit earlier this year and brought me and Sally a new scratcher with colorful feathers on it.
There are only a couple of more days left to Christmas Eve and we´re helping Mom to get things ready to celebrate.
As most of the times, I´ve been busy supervising everything. I´ve been specially curious about some bright little packages appearing under the tree. They have very interesting ribbons and I´ve been sniffing them. I even gave them a couple of headbonks too. MOL!

How are you, sweetie?
Mom and I were sorry to read about the troubles your buddy is having to find a job. We know what he means about the age. It happens the same here. We keep on praying for him to find a job.
I´m sitting by the window watching the raindrops falling; it´s been raining all day long. Grandma came home early from work and Sally and me watched TV with her.
I was also glad to help Granny to prepare dinner for Mom.
She had to work until 08.00 pm tonight but we waited for her and gave her lots of kitty purrs. I don´t like much when Mommy has to work extra hours, but she says that always happens in December. MOL!

I sure hope you and your buddy had a good Thanksgiving. It hurts to hear about the problems your buddy is having finding a good full time job. He's right, I think. Age has a lot to do with it, but employers can't come right out and say so, because that would be discrimination, so they have to use some other excuse. I hope he won't have to dig into his retirement fund, but I'm sure glad to know you're still getting the best of care! Your buddy is alright in my book! Bless you both. Hi Mufasa,
Happy Sunday my friend. We are having a dreary, rainy day here. Such a change after sunny and 55 degrees yesterday. We were all outside in the afternoon and really enjoying the Spring-like temps. But, it is December after all. So, this is a good day for relaxing and snoozing and that is just what I plan on doing. Mom is finally finished with all of the Christmas decorations and now we can enjoy the beautiful tree. I must study the tree and decide which ornaments to steal this year. Hehehe.!!! Don't faint,it's Bart! I have a funny story to tell you today! It is about a stray cat that came up sometime last year and would not go away! Well,Dad said "No more cats",so one morning he loaded him in a cat carrier,and on his way to work,dumped him ou somewhere! Now this was carried out with much protesting from a furious mom,as she thinks this is a horrible thing to do to poor homeless kitties! Mom was sad all day at work,thinking of how scared the cat must be and that it might starve. When she got home,dad told her he hit a deer while 'dumping' the cat. Lots of damage to the truck,but not to dad. Mom laughed and said it served him right! And the next morning? ~THE CAT CAME BACK!~Mom promptly took it to be fixed,so all total,this kitty coast Dad roughly three hundred dollars,MOL! BTW,dad now loves this kitty and has learned his lesson about 'dumping' cats! Now the fun part.....can you guess which one of the Peach State Cats Thai is? ~Happy guessing! purrs,Bart

How are doing today my friend? I hope that you are well and having a relaxing Sunday. It has been a busy week here for Mom and Dad and they are both glad to be doing nothing today. That is, except waiting on us kitties. We are a full-time job with no days off. Hehehe.!!! It has been exceptionally warm here for November and tomorrow Mom and Dad are going to put up some of the outdoor Christmas decorations. Of course, I will be supervising. I love Christmas and I must make sure that all of the preparations are done correctly. Hehehe.!!! For now though, I am very content to sun myself in the patio room and watch the activities outside. Our neighbors have quads and they like to zoom around their yard. Enjoy the rest of your day and stop by and visit when you can.
