How We Met
Our beloved Persian had just passed away and we were looking online for a new one we found a web site. The first cat we saw was Pyro the resident male we got 2 of his kittens. When it was time to retire him we became good friends with the breeder and got Pyro.

It's a wonderful life
Philip Van Doren Stern (1900-1984) began a short story, The Greatest Gift", in 1939. He was inspired by a dream, and reminiscent of the 1843 Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol. Stern shared 200 printed copies in 1943 with friends as a year-end cards after numerous publisher rejections.
Luckily, the pamphlet came to the attention of a RKO movie producer who purchased the rights. Frank Capra's production company saw the movie potential. He paid $10,000 for the rights in 1945. Stern's story was adapted into the most loved and memorable American family film, "It's a Wonderful Life" in 1946. Director Capra's inventiveness, humor and affection for human beings keep it glowing with life and excitement.
On Xmas eve, George Bailey's guardian angel shows him all the lives he touched and how different life in his community would be had he never been born. Although George repeatedly sacrifices his dream to travel the world, he realizes "No man is a failure who has friends."

You got Mom on that oldie too! She knows Jethro Tull but not that particular song. AND...IF SHE READ THE POST RIGHT.........SHE would have seen the ZEP credit! DUH. You know these soon to be seniors!!! She still thinks she has a shot with ROBERT PLANT..THE Lead singer of Zep since he winked and waved at her at a Concert in D.C IN 2001! She once had a cat named R.P.Zeppelin. LOL. She also likes JEFF Beck, her first cat was a Black cat named J.B. AFTER HIM. OF course now days her tastes are diverse. She does put some country in there because she says some of the new country does remind her of the 70s rock and ROLL....BUT, You did notice Johnny Cat's name? Its for Johnny Cash. She loves him, and Maybelle is for Maybelle Carter, of the Carter family, who was one heck of a Guitar player one of the best females ever! She seems to think Rock and ROLL AND Cats seem to go together. We are both special to her. I figured since today is the day that family gather to visit each other, this would be the recipe for the perfect family get together. Leaving a vote to honor all families whether furry or human.
How To Create The Perfect Family

You will need:
1 large house
3-6 people, depending on how long you want to wait for it to be done
3 cups of pets
2 cups of patience
3 ounces of anger/frustration
3 quarts of laughter
4 teaspoons of trust
And last but definitely not least,
Lots and lots of love
First, open the house, and make sure that it will be the right size for your family. Mix the desired amount of people with the pets, carefully so you don’t damage them. In a separate bowl, stir the love and laughter together. Set aside. Taking each person separately, evenly distribute the patience and trust, making sure that each one gets an equal amount (Failure to distribute evenly may lead to different recipe! See recipe for “My impatient family” for details…). Carefully open the bottle of anger/frustration. Using a Q-tip, dab small portions of the anger/frustration onto each person. Lastly, take the love and laughter and sprinkle it all over the house, pets, and people. Let sit until all parts of the recipe are thoroughly combined, and voila! Your Perfect Family is complete.

Happy Thanksgiving
I know most kitties will be busy tomorrow for the holiday, so I am leaving a vote tonight with a little turkey poem MOL
Resting After Thanksgiving Dinner

His little paws patter on the kitchen floor
as Mom opens up the oven door.
He looks at her impatiently
as she bastes the golden brown turkey.
"Not yet," she says, and he glides away
off to chase imaginary prey.
But soon he tires, settles down,
and dozes, dreams of a turkey brown.
It's his dream so there's not a bone,
just turkey meat - his alone.
He awakens when he hears a clatter,
sees food on the table, the bird on a platter.
He starts to yowl and meow loud and clear.
Mom walks to the kitchen and says "Look here!"
He starts to follow, the smell is a lure,
there's a plate on the floor, its turkey for sure!
He eats and eats till there's room for no more.
What a neat little eater - not a crumb on the floor!
Later that night, he settles in mom's lap
for a purry, fuzzy, kitty cat nap.
"Thanksgiving Day is surely the best!"
he dreams of goodies he'll eat after his rest.

Hi Pyrol
Thank You all so much for my COTD. What a surprise. I'm very Honored. Wow what a Birthday, before dad took the car in to be serviced. I got my car ride. Mom n dad took me to the pond, in the park. I got to play with Frogs, and even seen a opulent Lizards. Boy those Lizards are fast. I seen a cat, and wanted to mean him are her. But he are she was very afraid. So mom would let me play with him. I even got a whole Potato Chip. I just love them and mom doesn't let me have one very often. Everyone wants me. But mom tells them oh no not My Harley he's my God Scent Kitty. Mom tells everyone and I'm sure you all heard how mom got me. But mom said that was crying very hard off Angel Duffy, and she was on her way home. And she drove way passed her house. When she stopped at the stop light she looked up and there was the Cottonville HS. Mom thought that it was a sign. And mom had told dad that long before Angel Duffy passed. That her next cat would come from the HS and it would be a Siamese Mutt, Blue Point. Dad laughed at her every time she said it. Mom just had to go in it. And she looked at the older cats no Blue Points, so she went a crossed to the kittens, and there were 30 kittens, and I was the very last one she looked at. And the lady that worked there told mom that there were no Blue Points there. But mom new when she seen me she had to have me. And she called dad, and told her God spent her there. That I was mean to be there kitty. That's why mom says I'm a gift from God. And she and dad thank God everyday that they have us Fur Kids. Mommy has been on the phone since coming home from work because she ordered something from a store & the UPS man didn't leave it when they claimed they did. So shes really upset right now about not getting her package and poor Daddy is fighting with his lap top. Glad I had a good day cuz all I had to was nap MOL. My coat has gotten fluffier too. I usually leave fur balls everywhere but lately I don't leave as many. My Mommy and Daddy call it leaving kittens on the floor cuz they said they could make another whole cat out of all the fur balls lying around MOL. Hi
The time change has really messed up my dinner time. Mommy refused to feed me my Tuna at 7 and had the nerve to tell me it wasn't 7 yet when my tummy was telling me it was MOL. Since CC was being a stinker yesterday(much like my litter box at times MOL) I couldn't visit many people because by the time I got in, Mommy had laundry to do and didn't have much time to do blogs. Hi
Not much went on today as it looked cold and cloudy outside so I slept most of the day MOL. I didn't get to see the strange little human kids dressed up last night because we live in an apartment. My friends said the little humans scared them anyway, so I'm glad they can't come to my place MOL.

Hi
We made it through the storm okay with the power going out twice but it only stayed off for a few minutes. It was still rainy and cold today so very little bird TV around here . A couple of silly squirrels were chasing each other around the tree yesterday during the storm. I can't believe they didn't blow away from the high winds MOL.

This Saturday at 11:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, the moon will be at a distance of 221,802 miles away. At its peek time, this SUPER-moon will look 14 to 16 percent bigger, 30 percent brigher and be 17,053 miles closer to earth (average distance to moon 238,855 miles).
The best time to gaze at our moon in awe and start snapping shots will be either just after the moon rises or right before it starts to set. In other words, it looks largest when it's closest to the horizon.

You will fall in love when you meet Bella! She is a beautiful Snowshoe, and true to her breed, is very affectionate and sociable! Bella was very sick when she was rescued by the Humane Society. They found her in the snow, and in very harsh winter conditions. After being at the shelter for 12 days, it was thought that her medical condition woud prevent her from being adopted. But when Mom & Dad saw her, they didn’t hestitate. They took her home and made sure she got the medical treatment she needed. Tests were inconclusive, but it was Mom who discovered that Bella was having trouble digesting fur balls. So with some kitty malt on the paws daily, Bella is able to eat and is thriving with her loving family! BOUIE also shared about his name: While he was in the shelter, he was known as Gouey Louie! His Mama quickly changed it to Bouie. He is actually named for Jim Bowie
( the Bowie knife), and he is still sharp, even though Mom chose to spell it BOUIE! (#220743)
