Our Special Recognition cats today are Serj & Leah #196985 who were both adopted from Lolly Pop Farm Animal Shelter at the tender age of eight weeks old. Both quickly acclimated to their new forever home by making fast friends with their new furry siblings with Serj #196985 getting close to his sister Katie, who sadly is now an angel, and Leah being wherever her brother Gir is. Like all of us cats, both of these fine felines have their own personalities and likes & dislikes.

Serj is pretty outspoken but Leah #196985 is shy. Serj's morning routine is waiting for his mom every morning in the bathroom and after her shower, insists on head scratches and kisses and lovey dovey time.

Leah #196985 is a bit feral but she has relaxed enough that she will allow her mom to pet her on occasion without running away. Leah lets her mom know when their food bowls are empty by standing on the counter and meowing an alert to have the bowls filled. Leah only likes dry food and especially likes it when it is poured fresh into her bowl.

Serj #196985 will jump over the dog gate to get inside his mom's bedroom so he can cuddle with her even when he whacks at the ferrets during the night. Leah prefers the company of Gir and hides very well when she knows it is time for a vet visit. Dear George,
We were doing the “happy dance” when mom told us we were Cats of the Day!
Happy all day and playing with all our toys, balloons and mice we took breaks by eating all the goodies , cakes, muffins and treats! We want everyone to stop by and help us because we are very full and there are loads of goodies left!
There is also a great band which is coming by this afternoon playing and singing
“kitty friendly” theme songs. So, everyone get up and drag your bodies down here! The sun is shining brightly and it’s nice and warm. The pool is nearby so all our courageous friends can jump in and swim your little butts off.
From the bottom of our kitty hearts we thank you ever so much for taking time from your day and coming to congratulate us!!!!!!!

Normally i am just jumping all the time. it's one of my favorite things to do! never need a reason, just jump from here to there and back again, but this morning i have a reason!
i rubbed my eyes and looked again and,yup,sure enough that was me in the Cat Of The Day window! the shiny new badge is beautiful but that's still not the reason. Do you know how many kitties it takes to stop by and push your votey button to make you COTD? well, i don't know the exact number either, but it's lots and lots and THAT is my reason for jumping this morning! Puzzle’s Mom went to County Services to meet this handsome boy. She sat in the kitty room for a very long time hoping to make a special connection with a kitty but sadly she didn't find what she was looking for, as she was about to leave they wheeled in a cart of kittens and there in the middle of them was Puzzle. He didn't take his eyes off of her so she plucked him out and he instantly gave her Nose kisses and of course she decided he would go home with her that day. He still blesses her with this loving gesture every day. Puzzle #256239 is very athletic and likes to jump long distances, although he is not always successful, Mom hears an occasional thud but he shakes it off and tries again!! He loves to hunt the birds, bugs & lizards outside the sliding glass door, occasionally one slips in and mom ruins his game by pitching the offender back out. He also has a stuffed buddy that he carries around with him, chattering away to it the whole time. He loves to play with his favorite toys Kickaroos, Cat Dancers & Charmers. He is very laid back and loves his fursibs ButtonBlue, Add-A-Line, Blondie & his best playing buddy Lolapalooza Lili, although he does get disgusted with her dunking all of his toys in the water fountain. K Leo and his sibling Mai Lin are two of the most cherished members of our CC family. They are always on hand to congratulate kitties who are celebrating. They console those who are sad, and they support all of the catpaigns and special events here on CC. They are very active in the Mouse Hockey League, promoting good sportsmanship and enjoying friendly competition.
We all fondly remember Leo’s Reign as King, which he won on his old account, along with two COTD badges. Now he has joined his presence on CC with Mai Lin and the two of them are very good friends to all of us. It is most assuredly time for all of us to join together to honor these two wonderful kitties with their own shiny new COTD badge.

Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. This sweet kitty joined the angels in February 2013 after losing his battle with complications that developed after being hit by a car the month before. He’d survived having both legs broken & surgery, but was unable to walk & had to drag himself to the litterbox. He was very brave & stayed a very sweet boy during all of the pain, infections, examinations & becoming a foster; but the angels knew that his life would not be a full one with his disabilities & thus called him home. Please paw by & meet this beautiful Champagne Point Tonkinese kitty. KAYLIN #251700 is not just a beautiful face she is also a CFA Champion & a Mom. She was hand picked for her new parents by her sister Wendy's breeder when she found out how sick Wendy was. But this sweet girl was already a mom so her new parents had to wait to bring her home. All of her kitties found their furever homes & then she had her Big Girl surgery. She was finally able to come to her new home in January. She wasn't sure if she wanted to stay at first, but her new parents gave her lots of love & support so we are happy to report she is settling in quite nicely. KAYLIN #215700 spends her days hanging out on Mom & Dads laps, playing with her toys, & napping in the sun. She also likes to tear through the apartment at top speed and has been known to do it in the middle of the night too. Her most favorite things to eat are the Roast Chicken, that she shares with her parents, and her Blue food. This week’s special recognition candidates were found on the side of a road near a wooded area when they were barely old enough to fend for themselves. Their guardian angel was working hard that day & led their new mom to the right spot where she picked up the three mewing furballs & took them home. These precious sibs have stolen the hearts of many CC members by mom’s picture postings on FB & it’s pawsome being able to watch them grow up here in our loving community. Colt and Winchester love to talk to calm Kimber down because she’s very shy, unlike her more outgoing sibs. They love to play with their mouse toys & frequently pick on their bigger sibs throughout the day to see how much they can get away with. You can often find this rambunctious trio of young felines looking out of the window talking to birds, or playing with their light up ball. They’re snugglers too! They’re often found in the lap of mom or grandpa or you can see them snuggling happily together in their kitty bed. The inseparable trio of COLT,WINCHESTER & KIMBER#251320, are also keeping the house hopping with their energy level so let’s help them bounce off the walls a little more by pouncing by to paw them a COTD vote today, Monday April 29th, so they can earn their very first badge of honor tomorrow!

Patter (249085) is a beautiful 6 year old tabby, who enjoys her outside time, ( She is quite the hunter) and loves playing with the catnip toys that her mom gets for her. Her boyfriend, Hedley tells us that she has a great sense of humor and is lots of fun.

Thanks for the birthday and COTD wishes!!!! I had a great birthday yesterday, Mom took me outside to sit in the nice sun, and I had special treats and tuna, overall a great day, sun and napping!!! Purrfect for me!!!! I was so happy I am COTD today, I told Mom I wanted more tuna and to go out with her again, but she said she has to work so ok to tuna, but no to outside (its nice today, but if you can believe it, we are supposed to get a foot of snow tonight and tomorrow ...YUCK) Hope you have a great day!!! As many of you know, 17 year old Minnie D Purrl crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday 4/2. Minnie was a member of a wonderful family of cats known as the Windy Point Gang.

We’re choosing to copy Dad Mike’s exact words that he used to tell us she had crossed--

“She was losing her battle with Hyperthyroidism and her quality of life had decreased dramatically over the last five days. This afternoon Minnie was assisted by our vet, Dr Madsen and myself on her journey. She was 17 years old when she passed.

It is particularly sad for me because Minnie had given me a litter of seven Easter Kitties when she was only 9 months old. I always celebrated Mother's Day with her on Easter. (Sigh...) This year we celebrated with some baby food that I held for her since she was too weak to stand and eat.

Minnie leaves behind her boyfriend Tiger Mann, who is the last of the original Windy Pointers...and of course, her sad Dad.”

Minnie is now a member of the Windy Point Angels #237234, those members of the Windy Point Gang who are now Angels at the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that this special group of Angels has never received their COTD badge, and we want to change that by making them our COTD winner on 4/6. Dear CC Furiends! You are cordially invited to come and meet Fang & Drooler #236550 on Monday, April 1st! These precious kitties are so thankful to have a loving family after they were abandoned when their previous owners moved away. Their new family, who are long time loyal members of CC, realized that Fang & Drooler faced an uncertain future because of their advanced age and medical conditions; so they decided to take them in and try to find them another home. Fang & Drooler #236550 have now taken their place among the other rescues in the family! They love to hang out with mom, enjoy spending time in their beds or on the couch, & enjoy playtime outside! They both meow their displeasure with car rides, strangers, vacuums, & trash trucks; Fang, in particular, has an aversion to feathers, preferring to play only with a shoelace! These sweet kitties are also dealing with an Auto Immune disorder: Drooler has had 7 teeth removed as a result; Fang suffers from mouth and paw ulcers, and is not too happy that he has to take medications for the ulcers, insulin to treat Diabetes, stress, & will start meds for Hyperthyroidism. Along with Luvbug, Lil Jag, Buster, Smudge, & Angels Kuce, Sphinx, & Dancing Bear, Fang & Drooler #236550 have been given a chance to live with this wonderful family, who are well known to everyone for the love and compassion they have for homeless and abandoned cats! Fang & Drooler #236550 crave love and attention & will be overjoyed to have furiends come by and visit! We hope you will leave a vote so they can have the honor of winning their very own COTD award!

Wait until your human is well asleep.
They get nervous when you show an interest in their toys.I don't know why.
Don't get distracted by pens and other goodies on the desk.
I know these are fun, but we'll never get anywhere that way.
Ignore moths, flies, mice and cockroaches.
For the same reasons.
Don't get your claws stuck in the keys!
We do have a tendency to panic when this happens and the sounds of computer equipment smashing to the floor in your wake is guaranteed to give even the laziest human apoplexy, and purple really isn't their colour.
Don't urinate on the computer.
Or the modem, or the keyboard, or any of the electrical sockets. This has a tendency to cause explosions and has the added disadvantage to being somewhat risky to your good self. Vomiting on these things is also discouraged for the same reasons (as Sass knows to his lasting regret!).
Keep your paws off the telephone.
The modem needs it to access the Web, so long distance calls to their relatives in America should wait until later. Jake, take note!!
Don't chew any of the computer cables.
Not only will this spoil your enjoyment but it will also give you a very sore mouth and a nasty headache.

Thank you for your well wishes on my cotd award.
Izy girl is so deserving of this cotd award. She will love all the attention that she will receive. In the fall of 2010 she was rescued from a stray with 8 kittens. We took her inside to socialize her and the kitties and kept her inside to recover from her spaying after the kittens all found homes. He ear was tipped and we did plan to let her back outside as a camp cat but she didn't want to go back outside and she was such a perfect house guest. However, all of us campers must leave camp for the winter and she had no choice but to return to outdoor living. Now this broke my heart so I brought her to my house with Tina and Magellan but that was a bit stressful since I'm in a camper with no way but the bathroom to separate them. I did this for about a week and my dear friend Beverly (who has found homes for many many kittens but couldn't have a cat because of her mother no wanting one) anyway Beverly took her home for what was suppose to be the winter only. But because of Izy's wonderful, easy going and very well mannered ways she became part of a very loving family and she is doing wonderful. I do see her when she comes to camp with the family and she does go outside when the weather is perfect. Two of her kittens found homes with friends of mine and so I also see the kittens when they come to camp with their family's. Yes Izy was a lucky girl and she is doing well. Thank you for all the nice comments and well wishes. She deserves the cotd award today.

Neelix is a very handsome seven year old tabby who was rescued along with his brother when he was a tiny kitten abandoned in a parking lot. Since that tiny kitten was adopted by his loving pawrents he has trained them to be excellent staff for himself and his brothers. Regarding his brothers, Hedley and Jakar, the three of them comprise the famous (or perhaps infamous) “pawty animals”. These boys are always the life of any party, they create lots of fun at every MHL Mouse Hockey Game, and they are always the first to lend a paw on any project that benefits the CC community. They’re always there to offer comfort to the sad, good thoughts and healing wishes to the sick and congratulations to those who are celebrating. Neelix and his family always support the COTD and COTM candidates. They are a credit to the CC community!
Neelix is an outstanding member of our CC family, and since both of his brothers already have their very own COTD badges, it seems that it is time for Neelix to have one of his own. Won’t you please drop by and give this handsome guy a vote, on Monday so he can have the badge he so much deserves.

~Shout-out voting today for WHISKERS #246313!
Happy Caturday everyone & thank you for your vote support yesterday! Are you ready for another zoo trip? I hope so because this is going to be a big one & you’ll be exhausted by the time we’re done walking around. I’ve taken the liberty of reserving rooms for us to stay overnight & have assured the hotel manager that all of us will behave. That’s a hint for anyone with unusual ideas again this weekend…MOL! Okay, I just got the green light for us to board the Cyclone Express tour plane so let’s get aboard because it’s going to be a long flight to Vienna, Austria to visit one of the must see places of the area, which is the Tiergarten Schönbrunn (the Zoo)!
Vienna's Tiergarten Schonbrunn offers one of the most unique and refined zoo experiences in the world. Originally constructed around the turn of the 17th century, this Austrian landmark is often considered as the world's first modern zoo. The zoo was founded by the husband of Empress Maria Theresa and was often frequented by members of the Hapsburg dynasty for their summer retreats. Today it still retains much of its original beauty and tranquil charm with magnificent 18th century buildings and a stunning botanical garden. The Tiergarten Schönbrunn was voted the best European Zoo in 2010. What makes this Zoo so special is the location, as it’s found inside the Schönbrunn imperial palace and gardens domain, so there’s plenty to see in the few square kilometers of open sky, trees, elegant gardens and magnificent architecture. The best things about Tiergarten Schonbrunn Zoo is the vast open space where animals roam almost free, with just a few cages for birds that would fly away if not restricted this way. If you bring the kits with you they’ll be delighted by the peacocks roaming at their feet and other curios animals that are walking together with the visitors. There are even visiting hours for feeding the animals! That’s the best thing about the Tiergarten Schonbrunn Zoo: it doesn’t look like a Zoo in most part, but more like an interactive educational school. If you don’t feel like visiting the Zoo you can always visit the Schonbrunn gardens because I guarantee you’ll like them too. Just make sure you don’t stand in the way of those practicing Yoga or jogging between the perfectly cut trees. There are other things to see at Schonbrunn domain besides the Zoo, imperial palace and gardens. On my list there’s the Gloriette gate, the labyrinth and the famous the Palm House. I don’t know about all of you but I’m excited to be going to Austria! We’ll be staying at the Hotel Bergwirt, which is pet friendly & enjoys a privileged location directly next to Schönbrunn Gardens. The unique character of this hotel, the informal atmosphere and the impressions of a beautiful city will make our visit an unforgettable experience.
