♥ Thank you for Honoring my little PAPPOOSE #10366 with making her win her First Forever Sleep COTD today 4/25/2013!!!

♥ It's true to what you say about how fast the year went, but not to me!!! It seems like Pappoose has been gone way longer than only a year!!! Yes, I have wonderful memories of my little girl.

♥ Pappoose was a very Ladylike girl as when walking in the grass she would walk with such grace that it looked like she tip toed through the grass. She was a petite girl and had several friends and family who also fell in love with her. Yes, my sweet Pappoose captured many hearts♥ not just here at home, but also our CC friends!!! She never got on the counters and rarely on the kitchen table. She was the best well-mannered kitty!!!

♥ When Pappoose first became an inside girl, Rhoamin 2921 took her in being the greatest fur brother to her. He played with her and they got along so well. Heck, Pappoose got along with all the kitties xcept for Sassee 10605 and Callie 239447. Those two bullied her til she was terrified. She wasn't too keen being around our dog Carly, but she put up with her.

♥ MEMORIES, Yes, I have beautiful and fun memories playing with and loving the sweetest little girl a momma could want!!! We also miss our other friends who went to their Forever Sleep in the matter of days like Anna 50686; Callie 89317 & Baby 8574.

well queen josiemae is taking time off the blog trail today so maybe we can get some done today.
the temp at my earth home this morning was 29 with snow flying and then for sunday is to be 64!!!!! georgia has had some crazy weather this winter.

it is very windy today so lets just stay in if u want and i can fix us some mousechili and we can watch movies or play games and have some good hot toddies later, and we can talk about what we can do to help queen josiemae decorate the maison de josiemae (castle) for st patrick's day.

as it is raining and angel ping and et thought we could all stay in and set up a bake shop and make some of those buttery breakfast strudels and we can get a good workout from rolling out the dough.they have catnip pastry cream and catberry fillings for them. they need us to knead and roll the dough to help out and the have beetle breakfast sausage and biscuits and tuna coffee. we are heading over..

ARE YOU READY TO DO SOME MORE HOME HEALING WELL HERE WE GO

COLDS

Make a tea from the leaves of boneset. Drink the tea when it has cooled. It will make you sick if taken hot. Leaves of this plant may also be cured out and saved for use in teas during the winter months

Make a tea from powdered ginger, or ground up ginger roots. Do not boil the tea, but add the powdered root to a cup of hot water and drink. Add honey and whiskey if desired.

Boil pine needles to make a strong tea.
Take as much powdered quinine as will stay on the blade of a knife, add to water and drink.
Parch red pepper in front of a fire. Powder it cook it in a tea and add pure white corn liquor.
Drink lamb’s tongue and whiskey tea.
Drink whiskey and honey mixed
Drink red pepper tea
Eat onions roasted in ashes
Eat a mixture of honey and vinegar
Drink tea made from wintergreen fern
Take a three pound can of pine twigs and rabbit tobacco. Boil together and strain. Drink some every three hours, taking no more than one full juice glass within a 12 hour period.
Drink some of the brine from kraut put up in churn jars. It makes you thirsty and you will drink more water.

HEADACHES

Bind wilted beet leaves on the forehead.
Tie a flour sack around your head.
Put several ginseng roots in a piece of brown paper and tie it to your head.
Put turpentine and beef tallow in a bandage and tie it tightly around your head.
Pour hot water over mustard leaves to rouse their odor and strength. Bind these leaves in a poultice to the head with a cheesecloth strip.
Smear your brow with crushed onions.
When you get your hair cut, gather up all the clippings. Bury them under a rock and you will never have a headache. Oldtimers would never allow their hair to be burned or thrown away as it was too valuable.
Use a poultice of horse radish leaves.
Rub camphor and white whiskey on the head.

wow it is a cold and windy day today and angel ping and et have a great idea to stay in today. they have lined up the cloud sofas and fluffy beds in front of the fireplace and the aroma of meaty spider stew is filling the air along with the fluffy catnip biscuits they are fixing to go with it. i am bringing junebug pies for desert. and we can play cards later and just enjoy each others company. see u there

Hello Angel Dusty!
Sorry for cut/paste, but I've been so overwhelmed lately and this was totally unexpected. Thanks for remembering my Piu on the anniversary of her crossing. Hard to believe it's been 5 years. In 2012 I also lost Rocky in January, my mom in October and then Rusty followed her the day before Thanksgiving. Hopefully 2013 will be better as my dad took in a new kitty I named Boots. I call her Butt-Butt as she loves to head-butt. She showed up after Hurricane Sandy (my mom's name) in October, right after my mom died and we just picked her up and threw her in the house on Christmas Day! She is still getting used to living indoors and will be having her first vet appointment next week. Thanks again for thinking of my dear Piu. I still miss her.

What is the Meaning of the Christmas Wreath?
The term "Wreath", curiously enough, is linked to our word "Wrist", with both terms forming a continuous physical circular shape. It also came from Middle English's "wrethe", meaning a twisted band or ring of leaves or flowers in a garland.
Wreaths have been used symbolically for centuries. The circle or ring shape is symbolic of eternity or eternal life, because the shape has no beginning or end. Back in ancient Rome, this symbol became so powerful that people used decorative wreaths as a sign of victory. Some believe that this is where the hanging of wreaths on doors came from.
Putting plants into the symbolic circular shape symbolizes the strength of life overcoming the forces of winter. Wreaths and other decorations during long winters often consisted of whatever natural materials looked attractive at this bleak time of year. People used candles, fires, evergreens, hollies, berries, and forced blossoms to hold on to the promise of spring.

First, I want to apologize for the lateness of my thank you. Due to several family issues mom has been unable to spend much time on computer. Dad had a wreck, then Mom's mom was put in hospital, and then a couple of more family health issues. On top of that she is part of The United Way committee for her Job this year and has had to attend several functions. So now we don't hardly get any time! It is terrible. We are now a very neglected gang.
That being said I am going to have to C&P this just so We can get everyone thanked, please accept our apologies and hope you understand.

Now, thank you so much for coming by and bringing me the crab and turkey, I really enjoyed it as did all the other angels. The party was fun and everyone had a good time. My earth sibs made some of our famous Milk punch for those still earth bound. They like any reason to make it!!! MOL. Not only did I get Cat of the Day (which mom missed cuz she did not get on computer that weekend), It also made her very sad that she missed my very special day, I was rescue cat of the day also.
So thank you for making my day so special. It really meant a lot to all of us. Mom still misses all her angels. Well mom says I have to go as she is at work trying to get this done without getting caught!!!! Have a great weekend.

This precious angel has been a quiet member of our community for over 5 years but doesn’t have any badges on her page & very few visitors. She was adopted shortly after her mother had crossed the rainbow bridge when she was just a young kitten. She lived for many years in her happy furever home until the angels called her home on August 1st of this year. She & her family are not ‘regular’ bloggers but they’ve been seen congratulating winners recently so we’d like them to know their efforts to be part of the community have not gone unnoticed. This beautiful girl was picked up at a breeder’s on 5/22/2004 after the pleas of her young owner finally reached the ears of her parents. Lola & her newfound furiend played together all of the time. She got pushed around in a baby carriage, had special princess parade events & birthday celebrations, plus she helped open her young owner’s birthday gifts. She was the purrfect listener & sat very attentively as her mommy talked about any troubles she was having. At the end of 2011, Lola started getting sick & she was called by the angels on the night of October 14. She’s dearly missed by her young mom & we’d like to help honor her life & the joy she brought to this young cat lover by asking all of you to slink quietly by her page today (Friday October 19th) to paw her an ACOTD vote. While you’re there please check out all of the fabulous pics in her gallery & read her info so you’ll see what a special furbaby she was & the happiness she brought into the life of her beloved mommy.

~Monday meows from the NICE Crew~
Hi Angel Dusty & furfamily,
You're very welcome for the visit & votes sweet angel! We saw your note on the CMR's sign-up page about a photo so mom put one together for you. It's at the bottom of Angel Cloudy's page. To pick it up you need to click on it to enlarge then right click to save it to your computer. It won't come out full sized for your main photo area but will go great in your gallery at the bottom.

This is Fluffers running by at top speed today as I try to keep up with Trixie! We've been playing every day now that she's accepted that fact that I'm in to stay. Only problem is that mom & dad say we need to quit playing at midnight...MOL! They were working or rearranging our activity times all weekend so last night all of the NICE crew were sound asleep by 10pm. We were wide awake & ready for the day to begin by 5am so mom is hoping we'll stick to that schedule or she says we may have to find somewhere besides their bedroom to sleep. That would be almost as traumatic to me as shutting their door on me was yesterday! Yep you read right...they shut me out! Mom says I need to explore the house & the world more instead of hiding in my sanctuary room so I was forced to stay out of it for nearly 2 hours! I only got very nervous a couple of times so ran to mom when that happened but other than that I guess it wasn't too bad, even though I did get a good whack by Patches when I grabbed her tail & bit it. OOPS...MOL! Lesson learned the hard way. Mom says I act a LOT like Trixie did at this age. I've tried climbing a couple of walls, found the shelves around the living room walls & also discovered kitchen cabinets. I can't open them yet but Trixie does so I'm just following her lead. I think she can teach me a lot but mom has warned her not to teach me anything bad or we'll both be in trouble. Look at me...do I look like I'd cause trouble? Teehee...as mom says...looks can be deceiving! Well got to go because Trixie just cycloned through the house heading to the family room & chirped at me. That means it's playtime...woohoo!!
