I am a Russian Blue from Eugene, OR
Nicknames: Approximately 11 years ago, Smokey lost one of his eyes to a really bad cat fight, his previous owners called him Popeye for awhile. Later on, when he came to live us, I called him Smokey and never called him Popeye again. I like Smokey better anyhow and I know that he does too.

Smokey has always taken any kitten or cat under his paw if they needed help. He has taught other kittens to where to go to get food, go potty, get protection and love whenever they've needed it. He has also taught them how to defend themselves but he will help them if they need it. Whenever he hears or sees a cat fight, he goes and stops it. If he hears or sees me getting angry at another cat or dog, he runs up to protect ME! I must tell him thank you but I'm alright. But he still stays next to me to make sure there are no more problems given to me by anyone or anything. Smokey can open doors when he wants into a room, if it's not actually latched tightly.
My favorite tricks and treats are: I guess I would call it good tricks since he and Spirit would train any and all kittens where to eat, sleep, go potty and how to defend themselves and where to go to get help if they need. and Smokey loves small pieces of chicken and turkey, (people kind).
Where I hang out: At the foot of my bed when she is in the house. If outdoors, he prefers to lay on the back patio to keep an eye on Kasi and the other cats and animals that come into our yard. He will patrol the front and backyard regularly.
My favorite grubs: Goes over to Pappoose's #10366 backyard and eat their dry food =^..^=
My pet peeves: Doesn't like cats that fight other cats for any reason. Wants ALL animals to just get along and help and love each other.
What I love about my owners: My mommie gave me a home and love. She never gave up on me or any others that needed her help. If she couldn't help us, she would find someone who could help us. I'm here now because of everyone's help and love. NO BODY GAVE UP ON ME!!!
My cat hobbies: Play with my mommie and I'm always playing with Kasi. I have to be easy with Kasi though. I let her THINK she gets the upper hand. But that way it teaches her to get stronger so she can defend herself if she ever has to. But I hope it NEVER GETS TO THAT POINT THOUGH!!!
Pet motto: PROTECTOR OF ALL OTHER CATS IN NEED! LOVE AND BE KIND TO ALL ANIMALS NO MATTER THEIR DISABILITY, THEIR INABILITY TO DO THINGS, OR THEIR LOOKS!! JUST GIVING OF YOURSELF WITH LOVE, AFFECTION, ATTENTION AND SOME FOOD, WE CAN GIVE YOU SO MUCH LOVE, AFFECTION AND ATTENTION THAT YOU JUST MAY BE SURPRISED!!! BESIDES WE NEED JUST AS MUCH IF NOT MORE THAN THE OTHER PERFECT LOOKING AND ACTING ANIMALS DO TOO. PLEASE DON'T THINK THAT I'M PUTTING THE OTHER ANIMALS DOWN BECAUSE I'M NOT!!! JUST PLEASE GIVE US A HOME TOO. WE DESERVE IT TOO. THANK YOU FROM SMOKEY & HIS MOMMIE TOO.

How We Met
Smokey use to belong to some people I didn't know down the street from me. When they moved they took Smokey with them but after a month or so he returned back to his old home on my block. The neighbors didn't know where is owners moved to. Smokey looked so unhealthy so I took him in, fed, loved and cared for him. He had some really severe infection in his mouth which nearly cost him his life. Though the area where his missing eyeball was healing fine, his mouth was so bad, his entire head was swollen and he was really unable to eat properly because of severe pain. Being on disability myself, I couldn't afford to pay for anything. I took him to this wonderful organization called PRO-BONE-O. They had just started this other program to choose a dog or cat that needed a surgery that could help the animal. Thank God they chose Smokey! There was a wonderful vet, who I'm not allowed to name, who generously gave their time, energy and talents to save Smokey. We were not able to save Smokey's teeth. So now he has NONE. After his surgery and much medication and care on everybody's part, Smokey is quite healthy and doesn't take much from anybody or anything! HE IS THE TOP CAT AND THEY ALL KNOW IT!!!

Vroom, Vrooomm, Vrooommm,
Ten motorcycles come thundering down the street. All are Harleys, such beautiful machines shining in the sunlight.
They are on a special mission as they pull into the driveway of Angel Smokey, get off their bikes and take off their helmets. Zoe Monique, Cyndee, Thundie, Mallow, Q. Lola, Ammie, Talley, Dasher, Kali and Elvis go to Angel Smokey's front door. Elvis rings the bell, when Angel Smokey's Mom comes to the door each member of the Hairballz give her a huge kitty hug. Cyndee hands her a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses.
We came by to honor your sweet Angel Smokey's crossing, Hope you have lots of good memories that put a big smile on your face.
Enjoy and we hope we made your day a little brighter.
The Hairballz Rainbow Riders get back on their bikes. Cyndee says "Lets head on down the highway."
Honorary members Angels Yum Yum and Doodlebug are giving the Hairballz a big thumbs up and sprinkle angel dust on each member to keep them safe wherever the highway leads them.

The temperature was high 57 & low was 28 this morning, now it's 56 with humidity 42% & wind is 5 MPH NNW. Friday's suppose to be Partly Cloudy & High 51.

♥ We come to you with heavy hearts that mom had to make that hard decision with having the help of TaumKat’s Forever Sleep as he went peacefully this morning at 11:30.
♥ Mom had called one of the vets; Dr. Bert, who makes these special house calls when requested. TaumKat’s cancerous tumor under his tongue was bad enough that his constant drooling became discolored with blood and the tumor had grown. Though he still looked fairly healthy otherwise, his poor mouth was not.
♥ TaumKat had lived with us for the past year and he basically got along with most of the outside kitties. After his Big Boy surgery, he had calmed down considerably and quit his tom-cat ways with the spraying and yowling.
♥ Thank you to Boo Kitty 14855 & Momma Jane for the beautiful Forever Sleep Frame with TaumKat’s photo which you can now see in place of my profile photo.
