Hope all goes well for Mom with the move & that everyone in the family can get along. Family is very important & it is upsetting when everyone does not get along well. Rainy day. And the grass gets higher! Seems like the landlord has forgotten he said he would mow it. With all the rain this week it keeps getting higher & higher. Mom has never seen it so high. Great to hear from you. Hope Mom goes wherever she is happiest! It was a beautiful day. Mom walked to the closest grocery store today. We were getting low on our Meow Mix select cat food. Hi its me Gidget. Well, its an overcast and rainy day here in Alabama so mom let me on CC to visit my furriends. I know that its been awhile and we are so sorry. Mom is so busy at work and then always something to do at home and she now works out again and then of course Riley needs to be walked. I myself would NEVER walk on a leash - how undiginified. Oh well, thats why cats rule and dogs drool (saw that in a movie). Mom is feeling somewhat better lately. She still grieves for grandpaw but she knows that he is in such a better place and not in any pain from that horrible disease of cancer. Riley and I have also helped her - we give lots of paw therapy and I am usually a "velcrokitty" when mom is home. I never leave her side and I purr constantly. Anyway, not much else happening here exciting yet but summer is coming and the pool is open. Mom was in last week already!! Good afternoon!! Umm, yes, dont faint, it is me Gidget. Mom actually found time to turn on the computer to let me on CC. Wow, its been like furr-ever since I got to hang out and meow with everyone. Ever since mom got her job at McDonalds (yes, she works at a hamburger joint). But she is thankful cause it IS a job and she is now bringing in a paycheck. And I notice that there are more treats in my "treatcan". She works until 2 pm and comes home exhausted. Mom does the munch and salad prep, washes the dishes (trays etc) then she does the stocking, cleaning the lobby, fries and sometimes cashier. But at least she doesnt get the abuse that she got from the last employer. Everyone seems to be pretty nice there. Anyway, mom and I have everyone who is in the path of hurricane Sandy in our prayers and we hope that you all stay safe. We know firsthand how scary they can be but Sandy is worse cause of the cold fronts and the high surf. Good Meowning!! well, its hot and humid here in Alabama. Weve been in a heat wave with indexes in the lower 100s. Mom said that she is so thankful for the pool. It stays pretty cool because of the size and how deep it is. Her and dad are in every day!! Riley and I dont like water so we stay inside where its air conditioned. Right now Riley is blowing his coat all over the house. Mom vacuums twice a day. Collies have an undercoat of cotton and even though Riley is brushed he still sheds. He is a southern collie so its not too bad. Last week my grandpaw was down for a visit and while he was here, TS Debby was hitting florida and when grandpaw got home he didnt have electricity for a couple days. Thankfully he has friends who took him in!! I love my grandpaw and we hope that he will decide to move in someday. He is almost 80 and right now he wants to live independently in his own home. But he visits us often!!!! Moms sister Carrie is also doing well. She is now Cancer free and they reversed the iliostomy a couple weeks ago - but she has a little unpleasant side effect. uuummmm - she has to go potty a lot!! MOL!! Anyway, I want to wish all of my furriends a very happy and safe 4th of July!! I had a great birthday mom took me or a long walk around the campground. I got to met people, and I got to be love on. I try to et some doggy in the campground, and mom wouldn't let me. Good meowning!! Im so happy to be back on CC!!! YAY - (Gidget is doing a happy dance) I have missed everyone soooo much. When mom quit her job with the "mental abuser", money got a little tight. That and my doggie furrsib Riley got very sick from eating dog food (it was recalled soon after). He got salmonella poisoning and we almost lost him. But he is doing well.. It just set my pawrents back a little financially so that the computer didnt get fixed right away. Mom and dad agree that us furrkids come furrst. Anyway, we got about 14" of rain this weekend here in Mobile county Al. But we are ok, just had sone ponding. Down the road however a dam broke and caused road closings. Dad had to drain the pool 4 times!! Wow, Im rambling - mol!!, just that so much has happened. We are enjoying being in our home (its actually my home - my pawrents bought it for me). Wolfie and mom Linda come visit once in awhile and spend the night. I dont like Wolfie but I love mom Linda because Wolfie gets on MY chair and on MY princess pillow. I actually bit mom because I was so angry - teeheeheee. Well, I gotta go but I just wanted to get on furr a quick visit to let everyone know that I am back and also to thank everyone for my birthday wishes!! The sun is out now and looks like it will be a hot muggy day! Was foggy but 67* when Mom drove to work at 7 AM. She has been keeping the windows closed as the brick apt holds the coolness in. Good news about not having to wear a sling. If you had a cast, it would feel like 120 degrees in there. Our area has hit the mid-80s and mom's car needs her a/c fixed. She turned it on and all that blew was "hot" air.

Great Mom's brother was able to visit from Neveda. My Mom enjoys seeing her brothers too. The younger brother is 35 miles away in NJ and she sees him often. ♡ Happy Sunday from the NICE Crew ♡
along with big hugs to celebrate NATIONAL HUG YOUR CAT DAY!!
Good Morning & Happy Sunday sweet kitty furiends & families! It’s a very warm 75 this morning with lots of sunshine in our area. The temps are supposed to reach the upper 80s with no chance of rain until late tonight at the earliest.
This is Angel Sherman reporting for the NICE Crew because Joseph is chasing a butterfly that landed on his nose…MOL! I purrsonally think the butterfly is playing the ‘catch me if you can’ game with him because it will land on him then flutter just out of reach. When Joe quits swatting the air & sits back down the silly butterfly comes right back & lands somewhere else on him. I was so amewsed watching them that I almost crashed into a tree because I was laughing so hard! He may be almost blind but his claws are sharp & quick so the butterfly had better watch where he flutters or he may be a morning snack…MOL!
Our human family will be busy with outside stuff today but I wanted to pounce by & bring you an update about outside crew member Sassee. She showed up for breakfast this morning with a skinny tummy…which means she had her babies…woohoo! She was super lovey with mom & demanded lots of extra loving but she won’t show mom where the babies are yet. She’s a smart kitty so they’re hidden somewhere in the huge barn, which is a good thing since there are stray toms that sometimes roam the area. Bob was thrilled to see his best friend this morning so he’s in a much better mood than he was yesterday & is purring happily in the front yard. Well got to fly so I can sprinkle Sassee & her new family with angel dust & welcome them to the world with happy purrs. Have a pawsome day dear furiends & Joseph will be back to meow at everyone again tomorrow!

☼ Tuesday tickles from the NICE Crew ☼

It’s a bright sunny day again at NICE HQ & we’re supposed to reach a high of 80! Woohoo…sunshine makes me feel happy & warm all over & I’d like to spread a little of it’s warmth by staring off your day with a big warm hug & a sunny smile! Uh Oh…mom just checked the camera to make sure the battery is charged so that means I’d better clean myself up a little before she decides to start clicking….& I’d better warn the rest of the crew too! Joe leaps from the computer chair & starts meowing.
“Hey Zaboo…where are you? Patches…better quit sneezing & get your face looking good.” OUCH…she whacked me! That was totally uncalled for so I’m telling mom! “MOM…Patchy whacked me for no good reason. Mom? Mom are you ignoring me or…well, yes I could have put it another way to Patchy but that didn’t mean…(sigh)Oh okay mom, I’ll be nice ( louder sigh). Now where was I? Oh yeah…”Trixie…mom has the flashy thing out again so better get out from under the hutch & clean off the dust bunnies. Zaboo…are you ignoring me?” Where is he? Not on the cat tree by the window, not on the couch, not on the bed…hmmm… “Oh there you are on the rocking chair!” (Zaboo looks sleepily at Joe & meows softly) “Shhh…if she thinks I’m asleep she’ll bypass me”
Now why didn’t I think of that? Guess that’s why he’s the King & I’m only a Prince…MOL! Well I’d better get pouncing to tell the outside crew that mom has the camera bug again. I also know she’s got to back little bro’s birthday cake since he’s officially 12 years old today & mom has lots to do before he gets home from school. That is great Mom will see her son next month. It is tough when family is so far away. Mom's older brother is in IL and his kids in MI. Fortunately she is only 35 miles from her younger brother in NJ. Another rainy day. Good thing Mom got her tomato plants and beans planted saturday. Looks like rain all week again. Happy Mother's Day to your Mom! Finally Mom got out in her garden today! Planted 12 rows of string beans and three of tomatoes, 15 grape & three regular. That was enough for one day. Mom needs to buy three more tomato plants, 15 pepper plants,& more bean seeds. She will plant more on Monday. Plus with all the rain, the lawn needs mowing again. Mom was pleased with her work today. Countdown to Sunday
Please be extra careful, "baby" the shoulder until it heals and most of all, avoid any more falls. The body heals but not as fast as we would like it to.
After mom had her right clavicle removed, she kept her arm in a sling for over seven months. The surgeon did not want stitches to pull out while nerve ending reconnected. It took another eight months of physical therapy to get her range of motion back. Losing use of her right arm, as you can imagine, was the most frustrating event she has experienced to date. When we have good health, we are wealthy. Sending our get well wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hope Mom's shoulder heals quickly. It would be pretty hard to drive with a sling. I'm sure she is being very careful. Soon she won't need the sling any more. Another rainy, cloudy day. We are glad we are inside cats and have nice warm beds and soft chairs to curl up on. We are glad we don't have to worry about cold & wet weather or finding food or staying safe. We heard about this special kitty from our COTM candidate MIKE #161232 & have seen several of you going by with prayers & well wishes, but we’d like to take it one step further if you'd help us.
This 16 year old kitty has good days mixed in with the bad ones so we’d like to cheer him up by letting him know that we’ve heard his dire health report & care what happens to him! 5/5/1862: Cinco de Mayo, the 5th of May, celebrates a victory by the Mexican people over the French Army in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It honors the memory and bravery of the Mexican soldiers who fought for their country.
"Battle of Puebla": Its victory marks a turning point in Mexican national pride. A small, poorly armed group of about 4,500 men were able to stop the French invasion of a well-equipped European army.
Today we enjoy the colorful festivals, lively fiestas, special dances, decorated piñatas, delicious foods, drinks (Corona, tequila, frozen margaritas), traditional Mariachi music and wear clothes of red and green, the colors of the Mexican flag with our friends from South of the Border.

Glad Mom is doing well and her exercises three times a day are helping. We hope she makes a complete recovery. Nice day. The apt is cold but Mom was surprised how warm it was outside. Walking one foot in front of the other--Foot facts
Hoping your shoulder gets better. I feel like my body is falling apart. Two weeks ago, I sprained my foot. Now my cornea got scratched (don't know how, possibly while sleeping). I have an opthalmologist appt on Monday.

Sorry to hear Mom needs surgery on her shoulder. Glad she has faith in her doctor. That is very important. We will keep her in our prayers. It was a beautiful day here! Mom still has the windows open. Fresh air, nice breeze. Long over due. She brought two fans down from the third floor today as no doubt she will need them soon. Mid-APRIL surprise heat wave - wow 90 degrees
Mom's sister came to visit before her trip to New Orleans. Her husband has a medical conference this week. He'll be indoors while she takes in the sights. She loves to take photos so seeing them, makes me feel like I was there too.
