Recently a cat loving family had their red female cat, Angel Rhuby cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The cat mom of this family decided she would like to adopt another red female and as luck would have it, there was Rosie at the Petsmart Adoption Center. Rosie #252822 and her new mom bonded instantly and Rosie came to her new home that day. Rosie was at the shelter for over two months and was a bit wild. She didn't like being kept in a cage and would fight with the shelter workers when they tried to put her back in her cage. This was a big reason why Rosie #252822 wasn't adopted sooner; she was scared and the people looking at her were not patient with her until her new mom came along. Now at her new home Rosie #252822 is a cuddle cat with her daddy and loves to play with her brother Yogi. She gets along with the rest of her furry siblings and is a happy cat. Rosie #252822 will not eat dry food but she will eat any kind of wet food. She doesn't like dry treats either! Rosie loves to play with her furry mouse and the laser light. Rosie #252822 is happily spoiled now in her new home and we are very happy she has found a wonderful loving home. Rosie would be so honored to have a COTD badge to display on her page. This sweet kitty joined the angels in February 2013 after losing his battle with complications that developed after being hit by a car the month before. He’d survived having both legs broken & surgery, but was unable to walk & had to drag himself to the litterbox. He was very brave & stayed a very sweet boy during all of the pain, infections, examinations & becoming a foster; but the angels knew that his life would not be a full one with his disabilities & thus called him home. Please pounce by to paw ANGEL CRASH #248838 a vote today so that his foster mom will have a fond memory to cherish & so that this sweet angel can earn the honor of making his star the most brilliant in the night sky tomorrow night.

We’re looking forward to some California sunshine during May as you reign from your house on the beach & look forward to hearing more letters to God from beloved pets. What’s mew with you? I have WONDERFUL mews!!!! Dr. William called - my T4 by equilibrium dialysis thyroid test was NEGATIVE!!!! Thankfully that means I do not have hyperthyroidism.

I have decided that I really do not like to eat the Prescription Diet k/d canned food. I will eat the k/d dry but not the canned food. So Mommy has been busy researching other canned foods with low protein (less than 10%) for me. The crazy woman is also studying our food labels. Do I read the labels on all that junk SHE eats???

Tonight is my last dose of that nasty Clavamox for the UTI. After I have been off it for four days, Mommy will take my urine sample to Dr. William to be rechecked. Hopefully the UTI will be all gone.

Mommy & Nana have a meeting scheduled with Dr. William @ 9 a.m. this Caturday as they have a growing list of questions & concerns. Poor Doc! You would think they love me or something!!!

My Dear Fur Friend ♥ Sampson...
Mom and I hope from the bottom of our hearts your Mommy had a wonderful Mother´s Day! Here in Argentina we celebrate Mother´s Day in October.

It´s raining outside but it´s not very cold. I´m watching through the window while Mom writes my kitty letters. The cars pass by with their lights over the avenue and people walks with their umbrellas. We tried to blog yesterday but CC was super slow.

Dad gave my Mom a new BlackBerry cell phone a couple of days ago and she´s been chasing us with its camera! She loves taking pictures of us. MOL! Mom tells not to close my eyes when she´s about to take a photo of me. Tee-hee!
Last night she caught me yawning in my kitty bed; I meowed at her to let her know a lady must be ready for a photo!

We´re waiting for Grandma to come back from work and have supper together. We´ll be helping Mom to cook in a little while.

Hello Mr. Sampson
Thank you for your kind words, prayers & sweet thoughts. Like many of you, Mommy knows all too well about kidney disease. Her Dot passed away at the age of 17 from kidney disease & hyperthyroidism in October 2000. Mommy had hoped it would be a very long time before she was faced with this awful disease again. She will do her very best to give me the greatest care possible & lots of TLC.

I am eating the k/d canned and dry foods pretty well so far. Mommy says it is extremely difficult having one baby on a special diet. But we are doing our best with this situation & taking it one day at a time.

Thanks again for your prayers & concern. We really do appreciate it. Job 12:10 says “In God’s hands is the life of every creature.” We believe this to be true.

Hello Mr. Sampson
How are you? Yesterday I visited Dr. William for my annual checkup, blood work (CBC, 6-panel, T3 & T4), shots and 3-month Schirmer eye test. First the good news – my eyes are doing well.

Mommy’s intuition told her something was going on with me, so now the not-so-good mews. I am in the very early stages of kidney disease:
My BUN level = 38 (normal is 16-36)
My Creatinine = 2.6 (normal is .8-2.4)

Dr. William says we caught this early. For now, we are going to treat it by changing my diet to Prescription Diet k/d. So far, I am eating both the k/d canned and the k/d dry food. We will recheck my levels in 3 months.

I also have a UTI, so I am taking Clavamox, the wonder drug. My thyroid level (T4) is in the “grey area” so Dr. William sent some of my blood to Texas A&M so they can run a test called T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis. We should receive those results next week.

As you can imagine, Mommy is very upset, stressed, & worried about me. Please keep us in your prayers.

Friday purrs from the NICE Crew
Happy Friday everycat! It's a very cool, wet day around here & mom's sinuses are causing her head to hurt so I've got to make this short & sweet so we can convince her she needs to take a nap with us.
I was whacking at Fluffernut earlier today because she keept trying to take away the toy I dragged out of the basket to play with. Trixie saw the commotion & got her attention so that she'd race with her for a while before I did her bodily harm that would have her hiding under the bed the rest of the day...MOL! Zaboo gave all of us 'the look' a few minutes ago so we're now snuggled on our favorite blankets with dreamland right around the corner. YAWN...cloudy day + orneriness= 4 very sleepy kitties...MOL!
Well got to go because my eyes are getting very heavy & Zaboo is giving mom a hint that naptime is here by trying to lay on her laptop as she types.

Just a reminder that we won't be doing anything but daily voting until Monday.

My Dear Fur Friend ♥ Sampson...
We had a windy and quite cold day in Buenos Aires and I have been trying to stay over Mom´s lap as much as possible. Momma says I´m very chilly and that´s true, I have to say.
I don´t like when the floor is cold and I complain about it all the time. Mom puts me over my blanket or over her bed but I purr when I jump over her lap. She says autumn always has a couple of cold days and lots of rains. MOL!
Momma went to the Pets Shop after work and bought our dry food, she also brought Sally and me some chicken and cheese treats. She told us we can´t have them all at once, but I´ve seen where she keeps them: they are in a pink box over one of the kitchen counters.
Sally and me went on a special mission to sniff it and it is well locked. I wonder if there´s any way to open it without Mommy´s help... Tee-hee! I will have to think about it.

I hope you have a super purrfect Monday and a wonderful week. I send you tons of sandpaper kisses and warm hugs.

Please paw by & meet this beautiful Champagne Point Tonkinese kitty. KAYLIN #251700 is not just a beautiful face she is also a CFA Champion & a Mom. She was hand picked for her new parents by her sister Wendy's breeder when she found out how sick Wendy was. But this sweet girl was already a mom so her new parents had to wait to bring her home. All of her kitties found their furever homes & then she had her Big Girl surgery. She was finally able to come to her new home in January. She wasn't sure if she wanted to stay at first, but her new parents gave her lots of love & support so we are happy to report she is settling in quite nicely. KAYLIN #251700 spends her days hanging out on Mom & Dads laps, playing with her toys, & napping in the sun. She also likes to tear through the apartment at top speed and has been known to do it in the middle of the night too. Her most favorite things to eat are the Roast Chicken that she shares with her parents, and her Blue food. What’s purring with you? It is a chilly, rainy, & windy day here in southwest Mississippi. Our high temp is only 54 and tonight 39 degrees. Brrrr! That is very cold for us especially in May. Such strange weather we all are having this year.

Did you know that we kitties have lots to celebrate in May? It is Be Kind to Animals Month, National Pet Month, and May 30th is National Hug Your Cat Day. Also Sissy and my birthdays are also in May. So. . . let’s get this pawty started!

TGIF meows from the NICE Crew
Hi Mr. Sampson,
Q Trixie meowed a sleepy thank you for the sweet note you left on her page on April 30th about her reign as CC queen last month! She's enjoying her time away from blogging but her cyclonic winds will blow again in a couple of months.

Woohoo...Friday has finally arrived. Why am I so excited? Simple because Dad & the kids are home on the weekends so that means more Patchy attention time...MOL! I'm famous, or perhaps infamous, for jumping up on any available lap & kneading as hard as I can. I love showing them how much I love them...even if they do get a few minor puncture wounds...MOL!
Today is another sunny but warm day with some light winds blowing into the windows which mom opened up earlier. Outside girl Sassee is being very grumpy about anyone sitting in the master bedroom window & keeps climbing up to try smacking us. Mom has scolded her several times so hopefully she'll soon realize that we're not going to come out into her 'kingdom' & try to cause problems. Mom says it's the feral in her coming out again. Hmmm...let me whack at her mom. I hate that she hissed at me anyway so let me teach her a paw lesson she won't soon forget because I'm quite a bit bigger than she is. Darn...mom said no so I guess I'll have to be content hissing at her through the screen...SIGH!
Q Trixie is getting ticked off at her & has been chasing Fluffers around the house to work off her frustrations. The thing is that Fluffers is loving it...MOL! Zaboo is laying in the target window right now as if he's daring her to come back because he's even upset with her...& that takes quite a bit because he's so laid-back. Luckily Joseph ran interference & convinced Sassee to get away from the window but even he can't control her sassy catitude. Mom definitely named her right...MOL!
Well I've got to get pouncing because mom is trying to catch up some laundry & still needs to clean up all the dog fur in the family room where Sammie is shedding.

We're back into our 'normal' routine now so will be doing daily voting ONLY on Saturday & Sunday. Have a pawsome weekend & I'll meow at you again next week.

A Word With Whiskers – May 02
Whisker’s Furever Home – by Mom Mandy

I had always been a dog person, having had 2 big boys, an Airedale-Terrier mix and the other a Pointer. Both were rescue dogs and they were the loves of my life for 12 years. When they crossed the Rainbow Bridge within one year of each other, I thought my world had ended.

I would come home from work and sit in the backyard staring at the empty doghouse. With 2 big dogs, a cat in our yard was a rare sighting. One evening I noticed a black & white tuxedo cat staring at me from afar. When I tried to approach her she would hiss and run away. I started leaving food out for her and the next day the bowl was always empty.

My spiral into depression continued. I missed my dogs so much. My husband decided to take me away on a trip to Hawaii. Two weeks later a surprise awaited us on our return home.

Our empty doghouse had been used by the black & white tuxedo cat to give birth to her 5 feral kittens. I didn't know what a feral cat was, but I learned quickly. We left food for the cats and tried to catch a glimpse whenever possible, but the mother was guarded and we respected that.

One morning when I was leaving food out I noticed the mother was gone. 5 small kittens were left crying and hissing as if calling out for their mother. I thought they were adorable, but my friends said beware of feral cats for fear of disease or physical attacks. I got on the internet, learned about Trap-Neuter-Release techniques, and set out on a mission to save these babies.

It took several days, but I did manage to get all 5 of the kitties fixed. I released them back into our neighborhood, prayed and waited.

They came back one by one, as I always put food out, morning and night. I had names for them all - Howlie, Patches, Whitey, Callie and Whiskers. One day I noticed Howlie was gone. I checked the local animal shelters, but Howlie never came back. Soon after Patches was gone too.

I decided to put up a cat fence around my yard and try to trap the remaining 3 kitties in my yard. What an adventure that was! Callie came willingly. Whiskers came back next, but he was injured. We fixed him up and he has never left since. Sadly, Whitey is still outside, but she comes home to eat every day. I pray every night that one day Whitey will come inside and be with the family that loves her.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is officially ♥Brothers &Sisters Day♥ a day for siblings to celebrate one another. Our siblings have a huge impact on our lives (some for the good, some not-so-good).

Siblings are truly a special blessing (did I really just say that?!) so be sure to appreciate and cherish your bothers & sisters. Another reason to celebrate is that not everyone is lucky enough to have siblings (like Mommy who is an only child).

So don’t forget – tomorrow celebrate that special bond and let your siblings know just how special they are to you. Thank you for stopping by and pushing my votey button. You are the best furriends ever. I can’t believe we are already at the end of the month. I hope you enjoyed my catpaign. Here are my furriends and their rankings. I saw Gromit get her giant rosette at the Del Mar show. I am currently ranked at 38 but I don’t go to many shows and I need to place in those shows. These kitties go to most of the shows and always place. They are use to being in the shows, some have been going for years. Go to cfaswhhp.org, Past HHP winners, 2011-2012 to see their pictures. They are so pretty. Some were found on the streets, some were rescued at local shelters or rescue groups. Gromit was found in a back yard She is the oldest kitty showing.

Hello & happy Tuesday every kitty! This is the last day that I’ll be meowing to you from the Queen’s chair so my big sis & head chef, Patches, has whipped up a banquet that will amaze your senses & tantalize your taste buds as my way of thanking all the sweet kitties that pounced by this month. At dawn tomorrow we’ll be vacating the cabin with our royal mementos & will say farewell to the beautiful wooded area that I've called my home for an entire month. All kitties that have visited are suggested to make sure everything they brought along has been reclaimed because once I pack away the royal gowns I’ll no longer be responsible for my actions & anything missing may never be seen by you again...MOL...but until then I must remain as dignified as possible & therefore I call my royal criers forth & hand them the final royal decree to announce:

Good evening dearest Mr. Sampson & Mommy!!

My Mom is definitely runing my social life. MOL! Yes, my mischievous Mommy is always telling me she has to do this, she has to do that... She needs to understand she is MY secretary and that I need her to write my kitty blogs!! I´m happy she´s home this evening. I just jumped over her lap to make sure she is really going to write my letters. (Tee-hee!).

We had a nice weekend. Our parents visited a marriage of Peruvian friends as the lady was celebrating her birthday. Mom told us they had a great time and she kept on talking about all the yummy food in the pawty. Too bad we didn´t get any of it.

The weather was lovely and sunny although it rained on Saturday night. After the rain we noticed about some little bugs in our food dishes. Mommy said they were ants and that they come with the humid weather. Sally and me saw them and started to meow load to alert Mom. We wanted them away from OUR food. Momma was not happy about them either. She changed our food and moved our dishes to another place. Then she washed the floor with a nasty fluid and told us they were gone for good.

Mom and Dad are looking forward to Wednesday when they will be off work since we´re celebrating Labor´s Day.
I hope you all have a super purrfect Monday. I send you a huge bunch of kitty kisses and hugs...

HAPPY MONDAY
Well, this month has been a really nasty month. The weather especially. Mom has written down on her calendar, and counting today has been only 9 days out of this whole month that it has been NICE and WARM!! Other than that it has been unseasonably cool if not down right COLD and RAINY RAINY and MORE RAIN!! I dont know when or if it will STOP!! They can not say we are in drought conditions now and if any thing we are ABOVE the deficit. I can believe that. Well, Mommie got a bad letter the other day. She was expecting that to be said. But she is not discouraged or any thing and said KARMA will come back around to those bad people. Mommie said she knows her own self better than any body. So she is going to devote all of her time to ME and the rest of her family here. Well, my human sister is getting her big giant pool ready for the summer but I wont get to see it or any thing except in the pictures Mommie takes. They got it from a pool factory nearby and it is 30 foot around and 4 and half feet deep. It will come to Mommie's chin. Mommie said if she could not learn to swim in that pool she might as well forget it. No she has never learned to swim. Too afraid of the water. Must have lived a previous life and went down with the Titanic or something. LOL!! But they are putting a great big old deck around it and gates that will be locked to keep the kids and every one else around out of it. The only way any one CAN get to it is to either come directly up on the front porch and any body can see or hear them, or through the main house. Guess what I did the other day too?? I did a bad thing by darting out of the house via way of the open front door. Mommie was giving Richie Da Dawg some treats for being a good doggie and when she opened the door to come back in, I just HAD to make a dart for the yard. But she and Poppie never run me or chase after me or any thing. They just let me explore and stay right with me until I give in to let one or the other catch me. Mommie tried to grab my collar but it broke away because it is one of those safety collars. Mommie laughed and said..."Well, at least I know it WORKS now!!" I chased after a lovely butterfly and ran up on the bank. Mommie yelled at me but I stopped. I dont know if I would be territorial or not but Mommie and Poppie doesnt want to take that chance. They say I wouldnt be like the other cats before me and stay around the yard. Would be nice to see what lies on out there but I will try to be nice when I escape and try to just stay close by. Well, enough for the time being. All of you take care now.

Thank you for pawing by with such sweet ♫ Happy Adoptiversary ♪ wishes for me. It’s hard to believe that it’s been ❼ years already since Mommy brought me home. I was just six weeks old then.

Mommy & Nana had been feeding my Momcat Phoebe while she was preggers at an abandoned house. You can see a pic of my catmom Phoebe & my siblings Kirby, Riley & Oreo at the bottom of my page. Because I looked so much like my momcat with her pretty blue eyes, Mommy originally thought that I was a girl & she named me Chloe Blue. Silly Mommy! Mommy found my cat mom & 3 siblings wonderful, furrever homes, too.

Mommy didn’t know what MerryBelle and Sissy would think about getting a little brother. Well, MerryBelle liked me & “mothered” me, but Sissy STILL hisses and growls at just the sight of me, even 7 years later. She is just jealous because she is no longer the baby!

Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.” Mommy believes this, especially since we are her only children.

The temperature was high 67 & low was 48 this morning, now it's 66 with humidity 45% & wind is 0 MPH. Monday's suppose to be Partly Cloudy & High 62.

♥ Good evening to our dear friends!!!! Yes, I am back and mom did finish Pappoose's 10366 Thank Yous last night for her First Forever Sleep COTD Badge.

♥ Well, mom & dad wrapped up their 2-day yard sale on Saturday. The sale went pretty good and now mom wants to get some sand to replace the old stuff in the outside 5x5 sand~litter box. They won't know how to act with new and fresh sand!!!

♥ This morning, Mom & Dad packed the un-sold items then took them to Sara's Treasures, which is a second hand store and all proceeeds sold there goes towards spaying/neutering/Fostering and such. They also have lots of kitties there up for adoption. Mom said they had part of the store unavailable cuz they have kitties back there under Quarrantine.

♥ We have been going out in the cattery everyday. Sometime Saturday late afternoon though, mom was at the kitchen sink and she was smelling pee so she started looking around and seen it. Mom knew who did it. I was lying on the counter and she told me that I was a bad boy and said that I was lucky that dad didn't know what I did. She never once raised her voice though then she cleaned it up with paper towels and vinegar.

♥ SASSEE 10605 has been in some pain again so mom has been giving her pain medicine. Whyskrs 10378 also got in trouble as he's been acting like a Tom with Sassee. Mom heard her screaming the other day cuz of that boy and he got in trouble then mom comforted Sassee. That boy never learns!!!!

This week’s special recognition candidates were found on the side of a road near a wooded area when they were barely old enough to fend for themselves. Their guardian angel was working hard that day & led their new mom to the right spot where she picked up the three mewing furballs & took them home. These precious sibs have stolen the hearts of many CC members by mom’s picture postings on FB & it’s pawsome being able to watch them grow up here in our loving community. Colt and Winchester love to talk to calm Kimber down because she’s very shy, unlike her more outgoing sibs. They love to play with their mouse toys & frequently pick on their bigger sibs throughout the day to see how much they can get away with. You can often find this rambunctious trio of young felines looking out of the window talking to birds, or playing with their light up ball. They’re snugglers too! They’re often found in the lap of mom or grandpa or you can see them snuggling happily together in their kitty bed. The inseparable trio of COLT,WINCHESTER & KIMBER#251320, are also keeping the house hopping with their energy level so let’s help them bounce off the walls a little more by pouncing by to paw them a COTD vote today, Monday April 29th, so they can earn their very first badge of honor tomorrow!

~Queen Trixie's Final Zoo Trip~ Sat. April 27th
Happy Caturday Mr. Sampson & Angels! I’m sad to meow that this will be our last weekend outing to a zoo. I’ve enjoyed having all of you accompany me & would like to give each of you a musical water globe with a zoo animal inside as a memento of our time together. The melody is “Animal Crackers in my Soup” & you have your choice of Siberian Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants or Zebras.
Today we’re heading south so make sure to grab your sunscreen & climb aboard the plane because we’re taking off to enjoy the warm weather of Florida at DISNEY’S ANIMAL KINGDOM! If you thought Walt Disney World Resort's Animal Kingdom Park was the largest animal-themed park in the world . . . you'd be right! Its 500 acres are filled with more than 1,700 animals! We’ll be exploring 7 enthralling lands: Oasis, Discovery Island, Camp Minnie-Mickey, Africa, Rafiki's Planet Watch, Asia and Dinoland, U.S.A. Thank you for all your votes. I am so excited. We are almost done with the month. I am one special little kitty.
Today is my Sister Callie’s first year Crossing Anniversary. She was so special. I knew when mom first rescued me I had to get Callie’s approval. I knew she was the boss. MOL
Now that we have talked about CFA Shows and TICA Shows I just don’t know what else to meow about. I am going to another CFA Show but we need to decide which ones. More traveling in the car. MOL In case I didn’t tell you, you can’t wear a collar at the show. Some rescues have a collar on and we let them know they need to take the collar off when they get put in the judges cage. At the CFA shows, we always cheer for all the kitties getting a rosette in the household pet category. We are the noisy bunch. MOL
I think I will leave some Cat Quotations. We are smarter than humans but they just don’t know it. Hehe

What’s mew with you? It’s all good here! So far this week during our shelter BARL’s Recycled Loved Pet Adoption event, 6 kitties and 9 doggies have found their furever homes. Isn’t that pawsome?!
